Quality Inn & Suites Sioux City Southeast

This property is typical of my experience with Choice Hotels properties. It is poorly maintaned; not clean or fresh smelling in the rooms or common areas; and the sense of being appreciated or cared for is utterly missing in every regard. When the toilet seat is so loose that it's about to fall off, the bathroom doors don't lock, lights don't work, electrical outlets no longer hold what's plugged into them, the security system for the entry doors is totally destroyed, and management is so cheap that they feel they must reuse and reuse the key card envelopes, you can tell customers are not the priority.

The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The property was easily accessible from the interstate and there was ample parking.

The doors to the outside were not locked so anyone could walk into the property. We had someone try to open our door at midnight. Thankfully we had the lock bar in use but their key opened our door.

Clean place safe and good parking

Seemed like it needed updateded. Many of the lower level windows were cracked open and no screen covering them. Breakfast was not the best. Equipment was dated and didnt seem to work real well...ex waffle iron burnt the waffles, OJ machine leaked.

The good part - the room was large, the beds were comfortable, and the lady at the desk was friendly and helpful. The television did not work and she came to the room four times to try to fix it without complaint; she finally succeeded. The remote was a type I have never seen. You can only change the channel by pressing up or down one channel at a time. We were originally told that we could type in the channel we wanted, but the channel sheet in the room turned out to be wrong. She didn't know that; but she said there was another channel sheet, which worked. You couldn't type those in. She directed us to the side door, which was closest to the second-floor room, after informing us there was no elevator. There was a small pile of rotting garbage by the side door, which was not cleaned up during the three days we were there. Someone had broken into the lock and it would not latch. We saw several doors inside with handles/locks that looked like they had been damaged. The telephone did not work and she did not have another one. The plug-in under the desk did not work, though they had the lamp plugged into it. The edges of the carpets in the hallway and room looked like they had not been cleaned in a while. On our second day, the cleaners did not bother to come in and replace the towels or make the beds. There was no coffeepot in the room and there were signs saying we were not allowed to take coffee to our rooms.

Especially liked the handicapped parking next to the front entrance!

The room and bed were fine. The outer exit doors did not let you back in...keypads were broken. Don't expect HOT water...luke warm at best. The most important...Customer Service and communication skills of front desk staff need A LOT of training or replacement! The first guy, I think his name was Chad!?, had us wait until he finished whatever he was doing on the computer. He was not at all excited at our interruption. He then proceeded to "bribe" us for an extra $50 for the last room on the bottom floor. I can't/won't do stairs. One comment I could have taken it as a joke, but repeated requests...ugh NO! His replacement kept nodding off at the front desk, yawning loudly and rudely, with no apologies to arriving guests. Woke up this morning only to realize there were NO bath towels. Hubby inquired at front desk only to be told we had to wait an hour for housekeeping to arrive. Then, he had to actually enter our room to verify we indeed didn't have towels. Really? We finally got towels, but had to impatiently wait for housekeeping to arrive. Going to breakfast was also an experience! That front desk dude was yelling publicly at arriving housekeeping and other staff...didn't make it private or take them into an office...no, public humiliation and embarrassment must be his management style. Part of his tirade was about the towels not being in the room. He was yelling at young adults trying to make a dime. The young lady wiping off tables looked mortified! Don't!

They are obviously trying to fix it up, but the room was dirty, and the workout room wasn’t even possible to use. Filthy floor and and broken equipment scattered around.

Room was dirty, no hot water in shower, tiles in bathroom broke with one missing, stains on the chair and the mattress and pillows were not comfortable. Exercise equipment in rough shape (if working at all) And to top it off… door would not shut with out forcing it to by pushing hard on it. Will not stay here again.

Clean room - great place for an overnight stay.

Place was a wreck. Room climate unit display was broken. Refrigerator sounded like it was gonna break. Light fixtures weren’t working. Etc. It was a place to stay for under $100/night. But DEFINITELY will NOT be staying there again.

There was blue gunk under the bathroom sink, the old room key was still there,it just felt dirty.

The general appearance was cute and modern. The facility was very dirty unvaccumed, floors were not swept, unmapped floors. Every horizontal surface had layers of dirt, vertical services were spotted with splash and finger prints. Upon arriving in our room it smelled and refrigerator was propped open and being defrosted. The smoke detector was beeping and the lock was falling off the wall. When we complained to the front desk we were offered another room to move to with no help from staff because there was only one staff on duty. We are elderly and mobility challenged so it was difficult at best. The beds were comfortable and we slept well in them.

Overall, I was disappointed in the property. The room was not clean. Upon arrival, I initially overlooked the dirty washcloth left on the floor from previous tenant and the dead skin on the nightstand between beds, but later in the evening when the toilet would not flush and the manager on duty suggested she could give me a plunger to fix the toilet, my opinion changed. Eventually we were moved to a different room which was equally not clean. A dirty cleaning rag was on the dresser and the lamps shades had stains on them. The only positives were the hotel quietness, breakfast, and friendliness of morning staff.

There was mold all over the shower curtain and the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. Not happy and will not go back.

The room was dirty!!! Toothpaste in the sink, dirty towels and floor. Mold on bathroom ceiling caving in and leaked when it rained!! Sloppy paint splattered on the walls. Curtains were falling down. Plates were dirty at breakfast. Probably the dirtiest hotel/motel we have ever stayed at!

The floor in the room was laminate wood. It was dirty. My feet were wet from wet shoes and sock because I had been out in the rain. When I got in the shower, lots of dirt came off my feet. I thought it was from wet, dirty socks. But my feet got dirty again after getting out of the shower and walking around the room. The halls had a lot of debris on the floor. the room was comfortable despite the dirty floors and shabby curtains. I slept well. Breakfast was very good. The eggs were real. Only thing missing was fruit.

The hotel is dirty, room was dirty, smelled musty. I would not stay here again.

The worker looked scary. The room was disgustingly dirty. The towels were not even white. The floor was not cleaned. The surface of the cloth chairs was stained. I did not want to sleep in the room much less take a shower there. Expedia should not even offer such a property on their website.

When first went in the room the heater did not work. Then i noticed the bathroom door did not shut and thier was mood in the bathroom and some of the ceiling had falling off. The room it self was not really the cleanest. But the lady at the front desk did switch us to a different room. That was alittle bit better.

They had a problem with the same women the night before we got there and had even been down to their room 2 times after we got there (9 pm). At 3 am I ended up having to call the police myself after they started making threats. At that point they should have been made to leave, but since "they have paid through tomorrow night we can't make them leave". The smoke detectors were just hanging from the wall, just the part where the actual detector should have been, and there was no safety lock on the door. Definitely would never stay there again.

We were on out way to the Badlands and this was a stop over. My son left his phone charger behind and they called us and let us know we could pick it up on our way back a few days later. My son did say the internet was great here!

This hotel is very run down and extremely noisy. From the fan, air conditioner and endless stomping and showers from the tweeker upstairs, we had constant noise. The beds are extremely hard and our first room had dirty sheets. The front desk guy was very nice and helpful tho. We will never stay at a Quality Inn again. It should be a $60 room. Not $130.

Aside from a few things wrong in my room, it was amazing. The bathroom sink faucet sprayed was loose and the water didnt get very warm. The bathrub facuet was stained blue underneath and few end tables were banged up

The manager was amazing and helpful! (Patel?)

Staff was excellent. They were fast and efficient serving breakfast. The desk clerk was amazing. He was so efficient and professional. He went above and beyond. The only thing we didn’t like was the bathroom. The bathroom door was warped and would not shut. Also, the bathroom shower was not very clean.

We waited over 10 minutes before the desk clerk came to help us.

Manager and employee who were arguing loudly in breakfast area. Employees hanging around in breakfast buffet area. Can see efforts to update. Paint etc. However, done very sloppy, paint on draperies. Floors dirty. Some form of air freshener used that we did not like and makes you wonder what is being covered up. Just needed a place to sleep, but there are better places nearby.

Front desk was pleasant and efficient.

I enjoyed the staff; they were fun and helpful, very friendly. If I could change anything, I’d add bacon to the breakfast options, but other than that I couldn’t find anything to complain about

What a nice place to stay! Clean and nice-looking room. Super convenient location right off the interstate and close to lots of restaurants and shops. Great value. Quiet. Nice breakfast.

The room was comfortable but crumbs on the nightstand, no coffee for the coffee maker. One package of sugar, etc was opened. I had to go to the deck because the tv wasn’t working. They walked into my room and flipped a switch for the tv to work. We could not take breakfast to the room.

Breakfast was good but milk was sour in both containers. Didn’t feel too good after I took a sip?😩 Bed was comfortable and nice shower. No Kleenex or extra TP. Curtain was partially off track and one lamp shade needs to be replaced. Overall our stay was fine with these minor details.
