Parking was very nice and the rooms very clean and set up nice, kinda hard for older people if they are set up on second floor no elevator but overall great place to stay. 10 min max drive to all the stores and places to eat.

First of all there was no pressure in the shower. The room smelled the AC wasn't cold.There were cracks in the ceiling where their obviously was a leak . The front desk was polite and helpful. For the price. You get what you paid for. The pool was down for a day. The hallway smell like weed smoke.. I would definitely reconsider staying there again.

I have stayed here before. It is safe, quiet, and conveniently priced. I was very disappointed in the breakfast. It mostly consisted of cold cereal and white bread. On some days they had fresh fruit, but not every day. I have been staying at this Super 8 for two years. The pool has never been open.

Room smelt very musty, and like stale cigarettes could hardly stand it. Stains all over chairs dust hanging off ceiling.the breakfast was just cornflake,cherrios, poptarts and bread or eggo waffles my kids were too afraid to eat because of the condition of the hotel. The pool is extremely small and rundown.

The hotel is being updated, we did have some peeling paint in the shower, small TV, The pool was cold the first day but they turned the heat up and it got better. Very helpful to me as i use a walker. We will go back to stay in a jacuzzi room next time.

The parking lot was very icy and not shoveled or salted at all. The floors in the hotel room were very old and made hollow banging sounds when we walked or even turned in bed.

My whole room smelled of a splilled beer, which made sense because when I moved the radio and the lamp on the end table there was stagnant sitting beer. It was very kind of housekeeping to leave us an exploded modelo in the freezer of our fridge as a welcome gift. The AC was musky. Towels a vintage/rustic yellow color. I dont know what continent this breakfast is "Continental" but the unwrapped poptarts and eggo waffles were top notch. Oh, but the apple juice was delicious...nice and cold.

The hotel was very clean. We rarely saw any one at the front office. Had to use the phone to get someone. The continentil breakfast was Not good. Eggo waffles, pop tarts, Pkg oatmeal, toast. The eggo waffles were on a plate in the small fridge. Coffee weak and not marked. Had no idea if it was regular or decaf. Knowing this one can know to buy breakfast. There's a nice restaurant not to far away. Sams family dining,the food was Never a disappointment. Super 8 was Very clean, outside and inside.There was a extra deposit of 60 dollars in case one broke something. Easy excess to I88 a plus

The room was good bathroom was small but what is bad is is that they make you pay a safety deposit of $60 and don’t tell you until you check in and swore that it would be released when I checked out and it’s been almost 24 hours and I still haven’t gotten it back what happened to just keeping my card on file for that reason. The breakfast looked like it came from the off brand section at Walmart with great value pop tarts, hostess mini donuts that they took out of a wrapper and put on a tray, they got frozen waffles and put them in the fridge with the milk I mean come on I know it’s not the best hotel but still some effort for a better breakfast would be nice especially since they were persistent about telling me when breakfast was. But other than that it’s really not a bad hotel the beds were comfortable the room didn’t have any funny smells to it so all in all I’ll probably stay here again just have to remember about the deposit crap

The overall property was nice, clean and accessible. However I do not recommend staying on the 1st floor. If you do. Prepare to sleep with ear muffs and forget if you have work to do in your room. As some upstairs guest can be very noisy as you hear everything above you. When you tell the front desk. They. Basically tell you to deal with it.

Had to pay a deposit I was unaware of. Person who checked me in was beyond rude. There was some kind of banging noise right next to my room and when I was showering sounding like the people talking were in my room. I left after a few hours and went to another hotel because I didn’t feel safe in my own room.

They charged me 3 times the $60 deposit and only returned 1! They shouldn't even mention that they have breakfast, because that's a disgrace. They charged me for my Yorkie even though he was an emotional support dog. I wouldn't go back and I don't recommend it!

Fire alarm woke me up to the fact that this was the worst breakfast I’ve seen at a place that claims to serve breakfast. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful about our wonky changes to the reservation. They worked with us and were nice about it.

A large group came in around 9:30 and was extremely loud. It sounded like revelers and musical slamming doors. After 20 minutes of this disturbance, I phoned the lobby with a barely functioning room phone. I know they heard this ruckus as there were two open stairways to the front desk. They should have intervened much sooner than they did. The noise went on for 45 minutes. At 12:30 am the noise began again. So, not much sleep that night. The "motel" seemed proud of all of their no smoking signs, even on every door. However enforcement obviously was NOT on the agenda The room smelled of smoke and there was cigarette burns on the carpeting of the hallways and stairs. If there were more honest reviews of the problems with this motel, I certainly wouldn't have stayed there. If you want a peaceful and smoke free facility, I wouldn't recommend the Dekalb Super 8 as the place to be.

The hotel is dated. You can see in the bathrooms they did repairs but never payched up or painted ththe wall repairs in pur bathroom the shpweer rod was moved out more than normal so when you shower water goes right on the floor ..and the release for the damage deposit was not dkne as of yet

Was NOT allowed to check in with our pet (cat) even though the website and sign on door said pets allowed. Front desk was rude and refused to print a cancelation and proof I was not going to be charged. I had to demand a cancelation. It was ridiculous

State Comp for cheer and I needed to be there all four days w my daughters. Location is right off the highway and about 5 mins from NIU. We had a great stay, kids enjoyed it. 1 did the king size room and we all fit with space still on the bed..

I deserve a partial refund. The tub was stained with dirt, there were cigarette hole burns in some of the linens, and there were 3 of us staying in the room but only enough towels for 2. Additionally, breakfast was not what was advertised on the internet. There were no waffles and only Walmart treats available. This was not a good experience.
