Hotel need remodel and repairs Elevator was not working at all for 5 days

Holes in the floor, elevator out of order as well as ice maker. Fan in bathroom wall not cleaned for years. Cockroach in bathroom.

No laundry bag, no working elevator

Poor internet, no room service available.

Pros: Bed is comfortable. I like that it has a small fridge and microwave, which is not available in most hotels. Close to our intended destination. Ample free parking space. Cons: Same food options for the two days we stayed. They closed the breakfast room at 9:30 instead of 10, so one of us wasn’t able to eat. We get to check-in early for an add-on of $50, but have no choice but have to take a third floor room and their elevator was not working and seems to be broken for days. We have to climb the stairs with stinky, dirty carpet at the back Every time we enter the main entrance, it reeks of cigarette smell. And our room also smells musty. Bathroom is small. Breakfast server just wears ordinary clothing, not wearing a uniform to distinguish her as an employee.

The breakfast was good but the elevator was not working. Also, the Wi-Fi was down for much of the first day. They do make these clear upon your arrival and you are allowed to receive a refund.

Elevator not working. Ice machine not working. Vending machine not working. Staff was absent from front desk multiple times leaving a note on the counter "will return shortly" 3 to 4 minutes later and no staff

I stayed here back in 2019 back then the hotel was nice. However this time there was nothing i liked about this hotel at all. the rooms were disgusting, the headboards were all torn open, there were stains on the bedding, there were missing lights on the headboard and exposed holes with random wired hanging out of them, the air-conditioning had mildue inside it and looked like it has never been cleaned, and the entire unit just looked broken.. The bathroom had stains everywhere, and the extractor fan was also coveted in mildue and dust. There are literal holes in the floor near the vending area. When asked if we could change room, they only had smaller rooms available (obviously we couldnt) We ended up booking the best western across the road. Much nicer. Dont waste your money here.

Elevator was out, our room was on the 3rd floor, property was somewhat rundown

The air conditioner/heater was set and couldn't change it. Parking was great.

If I could I will give a 0 star rating. The bathroom and sink were dirty upon our arrival, we kindly requested for it the be clean and some small compensation for the inconvenience. The front desk person 2 times asked to send the pictures to an email that I realized was actually not the corporate email. The manager never replied, the front desk guy was extremely rude and clearly didn’t care about the situation. I will not be back here.

We should have left when they said the elevator was not working…. Breakfast-terrible Floors-filthy Towels- paper thin Beds-too small for two people… what size are those anyway? Overall place was worn down and dirty… was there any cleaning staff??? (Something other than the take what you need off the cart at the end of the hallway might be a step up.) Desk staff… was friendly Surrounding restaurants were great! Find another place to stay- my advice to others.

The rooms smell musty, carpet was heavily stained. Even though I had confirmed an easy access room, they gave us a room on the third floor, and the elevator was not working for ALL FOUR DAYS that we were there, room did not get cleaned even though we had requested it the day before. They were supposed to discount the bill for all the hassle, but the manager was never to be found on the property.

Well rooms were dirty and dingy, low lights, filthy carpets and the sheet had a semen stain on it. This says it all!

The hallway and room had a strange smell. I was very disturbed seeing two roaches in the room. Very uncomfortable situation. Will never book this hotel again.

We stayed 5 days and 4 nights. Following day on our second night we discovered we have a lot of BEDBUG BITES in our legs and torso. We complained to the reception if we can have the sheets changed and beds cleaned. They told us they wont do housekeeping unless we made the request 24 hours prior. We showed them the bites and then he looked horrified too promised to have the room cleaned that day. We came back very late following night and found out our room was never touched and cleaned. their excuse was there was a mistake and cleaned thr wrong room. .so we complained again and they let moved to the 3rd floor. The prblem was their service elevators were down and there is no way we can carry our luggages 3 storeys up. And no one can assist us. To make the story short they just gave us clean sheets and we were the ones changing the bedsheets etc. Following day, we again requested to be moved to another room but couldnt bec the elevators were still out of order. Our fourth night was more diaastorus because the electric power shut off twice. No lights and no Airconditioning on an 85 degrees weather. This hotek needs to be inspected by sanitation or whatever agency there is in Chicago that oversees the conditions of such kind of hotels.

Mold. Poor quality pilllows and sheets. Frayed towels, and only 2. Disappointing in too many ways to name. Suggest you skip over this one.

The rooms keys did not work. Every time I used the room key I would have to go back to the front desk and get it reset. Also, one other member of our party had to change rooms because of bed bugs.

Staff was friendly and hotel appeared clean; however, our bathroom ceiling was COVERED in black mold... there wasn't any ventilation system in the bathroom so it's no surprise but very unsafe toxic condition to be staying in....

The property is facing a very busy highway. All king size bed rooms are facing the highway, and only the twin / full size bed rooms are facing inward, the parking lot. We were giving a room on a third floor, and the noise from the highway was unbearable, so we complained, and we were moved down to the second floor, where the noise was less.

The rooms need updating. Specifically the technology aspects. By this point having a USB or USB-C charging port somewhere in the room should be a given. There are plenty of lamp styles that incorporate this charging technology that are inexpensive and could be easily added to the rooms. Also having a coffee pot and coffee should be standard in the rooms. Felt like a hotel room from the 1950’s. Also, why do you ask customers to check in advance through the internet, as your email indicates, to avoid having to do this when you check in. Uploaded my ID, prepaid through the internet and then had to do it all over again when I got there. Annoying.

It’s an inexpensive hotel because it’s old and not kept up very well. For the price, it’s fine. Dont expect to love it or even feel good about staying there. It’s fine if you need a place to stay for a night or two. Certainly not a place you’d stay if this was your vacation.

The lighting was subpar. More outlets (AC and USB) would be nice. Side doors should be keyed to room keys.

Refrigerator was broken, the pillows was dirty, and the ac wasn’t blowing enough

The lobby, front entrance is nice. The rooms are older. Could use a fresh coat of paint in bathrooms. The ac/heater is a little loud. Breakfast and staff very nice and pleasant.

A room in highway side has a bit too much traffic noise. Overall nice stay tho.

Avoid this hotel, super noisy as it is right by a highway, couldn’t sleep at all

The room we got had the window facing the highway which was very noisy. The front desk was accommodating and quickly gave us the room across the hall which was facing the parking lot and therefore quiet except that we could hear conversations being had at 2am through the wall from the room next to ours. Phone wasn’t working, so we couldn’t call front desk. In the morning informed front desk to fix phone…. Wasn’t done when we got back at night:( Corridors are not well lit and don’t look inviting. Needs an upgrade. Staff were pleasant. The breakfast lady was all over the place and ready to help. She deserves more stars.

The front desk clerk Michel is a very friendly and efficient worker. He is always welcoming Baymont is a good value. I do think they should invest in some new towels. No biggie but the old ones are getting worn out

We booked a stay for going to a Cubs game. When we returned from the game, we discovered that the shower did not work. The front desk could not be reached by room phone nor cell phone. Going to the front desk, the person was very snotty exclaiming "you didn\'t shower yesterday." No we had just arrived from our home. It was over 5 minutes before anyone showed up at front desk before we could even check in. Not strong in hospitality.

Everything was wonderful. Staff was very accommodating.

The hotel is overall 3.5 rating. For a low budget hotel it met all my needs. Rooms clean and beds were comfortable. Staff was nice and breakfast was ok. Elevator did not work which was very inconvenient but the staff was helpful enough to help in taking our luggage upstairs. For the room rate can’t complain would definitely stay here again.

I asked the desk the morning of for an extension to 1pm to check out which was supposedly granted. They do not provide do not disturb tags for the doors but the clerk promised they would alert housekeeping. The problem is housekeeping knocked on my door no less than 4x’s disturbing much needed rest!

Overall my stay was excellent!! However, the 2 female employees were rude. I out of the hotel early at 4:20 a.m. on August 2, 2023 and the young lady that was working I handed her my room key stood there for at least 5 minutes and then said am I good to go she said yes. She could of been more professional. Then earlier in the week, the other young lady just wasn't friendly just stare at you. The 2 gentlemen that work there Michelle and the other young man(not sure of his name) they were AWESOME!!!!!

Our room was very clean and staff was very friendly. Check in was fast and we were a little early so they let us check in early. We were there for a weekend get away and it was in perfect location for what we were doing. Breakfast was very good and several things to choose from.

I enjoyed my stay here. Location is convenient and there are many food options around. Plenty of parking from the hotel. The breakfast option was small but it is something quick and simple. I recommend it here.

The stay was average mostly because the hotel was so old. Clean room and friendly staff but the hotel itself was very very old. There were soft spots in the bathtub and the mattress was very hard. Easy parking was great and the location is great for getting Korean restaurants/groceries/bakeries in the area.

The property was in a terrible condition. Ceilings in the walkway were missing panels. Inside the room, everything is old and need a major renovations in the room and bathroom. Breakfast was terrible and missing major items like toast, no creamer for coffee. Everything was wrong. Do not recommend at all.

Friendly staff and a very nice Continental Breakfast were highlights, although I always wish Breakfast was open a while longer. This inexpensive Hotel Room was very clean, and the Furnace/AC Unit had good controls, even if a bit noisy. No Coffee Maker was provided, and the big wooden Wardrobe in the room had a Light that wasn’t properly wired up or even plugged in. That said, we will probably stay here again. Well run, good location.

Based on the reviews read. Not as great as I expected. No actual breakfast.

Affordable room rate and easy access to surrounding area. The freeway side of the hotel may be loud if you are on upper floors. Breakfast selection was minimal. Room was dark and towels were paper thin.

Excellent hot breakfast

Location and price decent. Beds were awful. They need to be flipped or replaced. Bathroom ceiling damaged and moldy. Carpet dirty/stained etc. Felt like a super low budget Motel. Not what I would expect from a Wyndham property. Guy at desk talks too much and does not listen. Room keys did not work. Breakfast was empty by 8:30 and I was told they could not replenish, so we we late for our day having to go out to breakfast.

The breakfast was really good, staff was helpful and overall had a pleasant experience
