Comfort Inn Wichita East

Comfort Inn East Wichita, KS, is not a 5-star hotel but spending the majority of the time with relatives, I only used it for breakfast and to sleep. No problem as long as it has a clean bed & bathroom - which it did in all fairness. However, you get what you pay for. Booking site rates it at an 8/10, although mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, my own would be closer to 6/10, explained as follows. Checking in went without a problem and I quickly got room keys. Going to the room I went past the pool noticing it had somewhat cloudy water, this did not change significantly during the whole stay. The room was clean, although it was missing a microwave that I have seen in comparable hotels. The (analog) TV service was downscale and did not include a TV guide menu to choose channels or to find out what was on. The A/C unit was working however I felt sometimes it did not keep my preferred temperature setting. Very basic toiletries were available. Breakfast service was between 6:00-9:00AM. Breakfast room was clean but I only saw the cleaning lady in action twice, one morning both trash cans were overflowing. Limited fruit options were available, such as only apples - no oranges or bananas. I thought the leftover bread & bagels were “recycled” to be consumed the following day. The juice dispenser was out of order the whole time and I did not see yogurt. I had to eat grape jelly on toast for a couple of days, no other (strawberry, cherry or orange jam) flavor options...

Front desk staff was somewhat rude. The room with the pool was incredibly hot and we couldn't stay in it for very long. The vending machines ate our money. Room was decent but you can't connect apps to the tv to watch additional content.

Hot tub was out of service candy vending machine was out of service. Rates were to high.

Hot tub wasn't working looks like they have it covered and has been covered for some time. I was disappointed about this. Room did smell weird not sure what it was.

The check in clerk was friendly and helpful. The tv did not work… found the cable had been pulled from the wall. Didn’t have trouble after they stuck it back in but it looked frayed and not totally safe. The pool was brown/green and looked like scum on top… I specifically asked about the pool when reserving bc we were brining our grandsons and was assured it was all up and good. The hot tub was ‘out of order’. Very disappointing!

advertised a indoor pool & spa. It was shut down. The mattresses where heavily stain and the bed was broken when we walked in

The property was clean enough but we got it for the pool that had an out of order sign on it. When I asked the management about this at checkout, they said it wasn't out of order. We could have gone swimming. It was just a little cold. To me, an out of order sign means out of order. DO NOT USE. It just didn't appear to be very well kept up. I won't stay there again.

The property was okay. Not too fancy but everything was reasonably clean and neat. The pool was broke as were the vending machines but we were there to visit relatives and didn't have to have them. I wish they'd had a larger more secluded area for us to meet in but we did fine. Breakfast was standard fare - had a lot of selections and the one employee kept up well enough with our large group. They did have an ant problem along one wall ...I think they were coming in around a window. Overall we liked the place, it was quiet and gave us a chance to visit. Some of us traveled far to get there and hadn't seen some relatives for many years. It was fun and I hope we can do it again.

This property is amazing! All of the staff are the absolute best! The Manager/owner is very nice and he tries his best to accommodate his guests. The breakfast is very good with plenty options! The indoor pool opens early and stays open late and is sparkling clean! Each of the front desk staff members went above and beyond on any request we had. Property is very clean and beds are comfortable. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Noisy, carpet stained the first room they put me in smelled of animal urine the second smelled better but carpet stained!! Front desk not friendly the first couple nights last night was a little better seemed real irritated to have to do anything above and beyond

Hotel was Meh…smelled like a dirty locker room. Breakfast was terrible, rotten fruit, runny eggs, hard potatoes. Not a good deal for the price

They gave me the room with a dirty bathroom, at breakfast everything was empty, it took a long time to fill it

Stayed one night after a long drive. Room was clean, facility was quiet and breakfast was ready in the morning. Would stay again.

We had a late arrival, but our check in was fast and friendly. Our room was quiet and clean and we had no trouble settling in. Nice warm options for breakfast. A pleasant stay!

Our room was clean, bed was very comfortable which was great after driving all day. The shower was spacious. Overall we were very pleased staying here!

Booked the same night due to my previous booking flop. Room was decent. Beds were very uncomfortable! Wasn’t a fan of the handicap bathroom with seat in the shower and broken shower head but we made do! They wouldn’t give us extra pillows and the ones provided were tiny. Didn’t give any blankets or pillows for pullout bed. Wouldn’t give me an extra card for the room and didn’t allow late checkout. All in all it wasn’t super fantastic but it wasn’t the worst.

We had an excellent stay at Comfort Inn East in Wichita! The staff was welcoming and professional, check-in was quick, and the property felt very clean and well cared for. Our room was spacious, tidy, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and made it easy to settle in after a long day of travel. The only minor issue was that one of the beds in our room had a mattress with a sunken middle. Fortunately, we only needed one bed, so it wasn’t a problem for us personally, but it may be something for management to address for future guests. Aside from that, everything else exceeded expectations. The hotel offered a quiet, comfortable night’s sleep, and the amenities were convenient and easy to access. It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the property inviting and guest-friendly. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would gladly return on a future trip. I would recommend Comfort Inn East to anyone visiting Wichita who wants a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay.

8 is the number of key cards my husband and I had to have made at the front desk during our stay. (Yes, we kept them away from our credit cards.) Breakfast was OK, but it was done at 8:55am (rather than 9:00). The biggest problem came on our final night when a family/couple with loud voices and a loud dog checked in next door. Someone in that room tried repeatedly (and forcefully) to open the adjoining door into our room. By 4:00am, I put my AirPods in and could still hear them talking.

Overall I’d stay here again. My only real negative is the amount of noise in the room. We constantly heard footsteps from the room above us and there was loud shouting around 1:00am. The beds were extremely soft and the room was very comfortable.

The stay was good for the class and served the purpose we needed. The problem was with the hotel and Expedia We used the Expedia app on the way down and as we hit book it just spun. After a couple minutes it told us it timed out and did not go thru so we did it again and it worked. When we got to the hotel nothing was said to us about having 2 reservations so we checked in and went to sleep. Breakfast was good and we headed south. On the way the boss was looking and saw 2 charges on the card so she called the hotel. They told us there was nothing they could do as it was non refundable rooms. We then called Expedia and they called the hotel. The hotel told them that one of the rooms was through Choice, which was a lie. We were told by Expedia that Choice would refund us. Problem was everything was billed through Expedia on our card. After 10 days and many more calls and e-mails we were told by Expedia there was nothing they could do. My wife went off and threatened to contest the charge with the card company. Finally a supervisor got on the call and told us nothing could be done but changed his mind. This shouldn’t have been so hard to deal with since it was obvious where the charges were billed. I still don’t understand why the hotel told them it was billed through Choice.

Clean, quick check in process.

The stay was your average stay but we needed to leave early due an emergency and they were unwilling to even do a partial refund. Management seemed a little unorganized. We could only get one key card for a family of four because they didn’t have enough.

My tv would not work. They immediately moved me to another room.

Not great. Checkin late, sent to one room at midnight that had people already sleeping in it. 2nd room un cleaned……3rd room only 1 bed instead of 2Q beds. Room is pretty rough, no towels just not real clean. We’ll definitely not book comfort inn again.

The proximity of where we were, and the easiness to check-in was a nice bonus since it was a late check-in. The room was very nice and clean. Would definitely recommend!

Clean well kept and a great location for our visit

The hotel is easy to find, close to everything, easy access to the interstate. Staff are friendly and the property is well maintained. Had a very comfortable stay. The jacuzzi was not operational though and that was the reason why I booked our stay there but oh well.
