Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Shreveport - Downtown by IHG

This hotel was not in the safest of areas in Shreveport. Staff was great. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel could use some updating. Mold in the shower where the caulking is. Pool was green! We weren't planning on swimming but anyone that had kids and were planning on using the pool were in for a big surprise.

The air conditioner was too noisy, couldn’t get any sleep. The pool was nasty.

Pool closed and one elevator not working. Other than that stay was good. Easy to check in and check out. could use a few more benches or accommodations outside. Water pressure in shower could be better. Shower slippery.

My keys were never programmed right. One would work and one wouldnt, that was the entire stay of the hotel. The main elevator was out and the elevator that we had to use smelled horrible.

Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast options, convenient parking.

OK, so I stayed in room 112. The shower did not work and nor did the television transferred to room 117. The pool was closed in the 4th of July weekend. Not listed o

Check in was flawless with Angela and the stay was amazing the elevator and a side door were down at the time but it was okay because I didn’t mind walking.

Close to expressway and free parking.

I could not get hot water for a shower on Friday morning. I could only get lukewarm water in my sink The stairway carpeting was dirty as was the elevator floors and walls. The shower door wouldn’t stay closed. One elevator was broken and not marked well, so I had to go all the way down the hall to go up and then all the way back when I got on my floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The fence around the parking lot was broken down in several sections so the lot wasn’t secure.

Wish the pool and second elevator were working but it really didn’t affect the stay. Everything was good. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good with a variety (and eggs were not watery!). Big parking lot and easy access to I20

Bathroom had bugs and something black smeared on wall in restroom. It was not clean in areas. Bed was clean and comfortable, front desk staff very nice. She said she would have refunded part but because I went through hotels.com she could not.

Pool was dirty, hotel was dirty and falling apart room had a smell.

Room could have been cleaner floor was sticky.

The first room was dirty and the toilet didn’t work. The second room was dirty, floor not vacuumed, hair everywhere

The wallpaper was peeling, mold in shower & bathroom ceilings. As well as soap scum on shower floor. I didn’t even take a shower because of how gross it looked. Bugs by air conditioner and bathroom. Floors were dirty, dust everywhere. The only good thing was that the bed was comfortable. Those pictures were a lie, don’t believe it. The receptionist was nice & adjusted our price for the inconvenience.

I have stayed in this facility quite a few times but the cleanliness of the room is hit and miss. This time it was miss. Although the from was quite and the beds were comfortable but the from carpet looked as it had not been vacuumed and cleaned. Also the bathroom shower had mold and did not appear clean.

Front desk staff very friendly and the breakfast is decent. The property is DIRTY. The renovations won't last long under this lack of maintenance. Carpets are gummy and sticky in the hallways and the tile floors in the rooms haven't been mop in ages. The elevator floors are filthy, and the chrome hasn't been clean in ages. The carpets in the stairwells haven't been vacuumed or cleaned since forever. I have never seen or heard a vacuum cleaner during any of my visits.

Musty smell in room and bathroom. Mildew around bottom of shower and the floors needed mopping. On the other hand the sheets were clean and bed comfortable.

Dirty, dirty, dirty. I wish I could upload the video I took showing that a washcloth and water were the only things needed to remove the black funk on the tile floor at adjacent to the walls.

The traffic was very noisy through the window and so was the AC unit

I barely slept because there was a train that went by every 30 min and blew its whistle. It was terrible. It should be the first thing they mention in the description and location if it's that's close to a train crossing. I rate it a poor because even though the place was overall clean and the people nice, I was there to sleep and I didn't sleep at all.

The staff did a good job given the product that they had to work with. This hotel is definitely worn and has a dingy feel to it, and the rooms are noisy because they are so close to the adjacent freeway. I was pleased with the breakfast that was included in the rate. It was better than what I expected given the condition of the rooms and the common areas of the hotel.

This property looked newly renovated. The breakfast bacon was crispy, which is just the way I like it. The traffic noise was louder than I’d like, but we turned the fan to blow constantly, and that helped tremendously.

I arrived late and it was no problem. And we were late checking out and Angela was friendly when I said we needed some more time and there was no extra charge. The room was great the suite is perfect for a family.

The bed was super comfy and definitely the best part. The building itself is fine but older and a little run down. The elevator definitely needs to be cleaned. The room itself was clean though. I would stay again especially for the bed.

We have stayed here before it was remodeled and was unsure about staying there again. We definitely were not disappointed! Everything was clean and the room was amazing! The beds were really comfortable and the ac worked great! My only suggestion is to maybe add a microwave, my husband likes to warm food up and eat really really early in the mornings.

All was pleasant except one thing. The Housekeeping staff was not professional during encounter as they were overheard using very FOUL LANGUAGE. I could hear the two young girls talking across the hall to each other as I was walking down the hall.

I stayed at this hotel in July 2024 and it was great! So, I had the same expectations when I stayed here two nights in January 2025. However, it was different this time around. The room (107) we were assigned to had a dirty bathroom (pink mold in the caulking of the shower that I wiped down with a washcloth). Also, there was one towel, one wash cloth and hand towel. I went to ask for more and he told me they were out but that he could bring me pool towels. The elevator near the entrance of the hotel was broken in July 2024 when I stayed here and it was still broken during this visit (January 2025). The shower water did not get very hot at all and so I could not shave my legs. On my return to the hotel on my second night, I asked the front desk if they had been able to fix the hot water and I was told the maintenance man did not come in that day. So, I asked for a new room (114) and it was much better. There were towels, the water got hot and the shower in this bathroom was cleaner. Marcus is who helped me both Thursday and Friday nights. He was wonderful! He is an asset to this hotel and should receive a raise as he was very professional, friendly and accommodating!

The check in was smooth and Markus was courteous and very personable and professional. Breakfast was excellent and the person who kept the food coming and kept the area clean was outstanding.

I arrived around 3:30 and my room wasn’t ready. However Marcus and his team was so nice and apologetic about the room not being ready. I waited and they baked cookies . And my two year old was happy. I will stay again .

The room only had two sets of towels for a double queen room and we had to ask for more. Breakfast was really good and had a big selection of breakfast options. Coffee was actually good. I usually prefer a coffee shop over hotel coffee, but not this time. The girls checking us out the following morning were friendly and very sweet .

Beds were not comfortable, they were broken down. There was dust in several places. There was also no hairdryer in the room and I called for one. I was told they were all locked up and no one can get access to it except the manager.

Very rude staff. Had no rooms available for me at check in. People behind me were given a room. Front desk staff couldn’t give me a reason other than they overbooked the rooms. Very very inconvenient.

Ii was definitely not ideal, first the elevator is out, there isn’t food or snacks in the market. We were in our room a random person came in because the front desk issued them a key to our room on accident. The door had a 1/2 inch space between it and the strike plate from someone trying to break in. There were people in the parking lot the entire night. I strongly suggest trying to other Holiday inn across the street.

The service was excellent from the time you check in. Friendly and very helpful the entire stay.

Area around the property is not safe to walk, pool was closed for maintenance and cable was not working. Other than that it was a great place to stay, very cooperative, friendly and supportive staff. Cabs available at all hours.

It was amazing. Location was good for everything we needed to be by. Was clean although there was a smell in the hallway towards the elevator, but i figured it was probably from old mop water or something. Other than that. Staff was nice and helpful

Convenient to the highway.

Great price for three-night business stay in Shreveport. The location near downtown and quick access to the freeway with free parking were ideal. A free breakfast is always a plus and they offer various options.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central location to the downtown area. Very convenient and nice sitting close to the river.

Quick stay on the way home from vacay. The room was great!! The hotel is remodeled and very up to date. The breakfast was unbelievable for the price of the huge room we booked. Far exceeded expectations! The staff are super nice and accommodating, they value their work and it showed. The breakfast included a full breakfast with biscuit, gravy, eggs, pancakes, and bacon/sauage. It also included cereals, yogurts, fruit, and cinnamon rolls. The foods were cooked and not generic, great cooks! We do not live far, it will be our new spot.

Most part of stay was nice. Just breakfast Sunday was closed out prior 9 as posted in board. One door shut down by 8:40 and just one was keep open for the last 20 minutes. Cinnamon rolls were put up already by then and just 2 milks were in fridge We were 4 in our group.

4-night stay, adult and child, in June 2023. Somewhat desolate location, yet still very convenient to everything. One of their busiest summer weekends of the year, but pool was closed the entire time. Biggest issue is breakfast, or lack of. Desk clerk wrote down breakfast stopped at 10am on Fri-Sat-Sun, so we came at 9:30an Friday and it was closed. They admitted mistake (should have said 9am) and we got a few yogurts, but no real breakfast. Came Saturday at 9:33am and asked the breakfast attendant guy how the pancake machine works, as it wasn't the usual hotel type. He said "no more pancakes because we are closing in 30 minutes" and he refused to get more pancake batter. He then closed the breakfast door halfway at 9:45 (the start of the last-minute breakfast rush) to discourage guests. With so many guests complaining about this exact same thing, I assume it is the hotel management that is trying to save a few dollars by shutting down breakfast early and not having sufficient food available.
