I was looking forward to this hotel, which features a beautiful indoor pool with large windows that would have provided shade from the summer sun, but would give the impression that you are outside. To top it off, it advertised an arcade/game room and is located 1 minute away from a water park. Unfortunately, upon arrival, a sign was posted at the front desk stating that the pool would be closed for the duration of my stay for renovation. To make matters worse, the arcade is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and so is the water park (the closure of the arcade on Mondays and Tuesdays is not listed on the amenities page). While the closure of the waterpark on Mondays and Tuesdays is not the hotel’s fault, it compounded the disappointment of not having a pool to use. After facing the disappointment of not having access to a pool that I was looking forward to, I had to repeatedly wade through stale cigarette stench that permeated the front entrance. For a non-smoker, the front entrance stinks. The hotel needs a better designated smoking area. We are all aware of the dangers of secondhand smoke. As for the room, while it was somewhat clean, one of the beds squeaks if you sit on it or turn in it, and the other bed appears to be so old that it sags in the middle.

We found it very difficult to get to our room. It was a fairly long walk to the hotel entrance from the parking lot. We used the side entrance that the desk clerk suggested but the elevator there was broken so we had another long walk back to the main lobby. One of the main elevators was broken in the morning.

I stay at this property every August; one of the reasons I chose it was access to a pool. When I arrived, there was a sign saying the pool was being “renovated”. Had I known, I would have chosen a different hotel. BTW: Their website still lists a pool as one of their amenities. Very dishonest.

Not sure why they have the property designed with parking lots so far from the entrance. That was a real pain in the neck to haul my bags from the lot to the entrance as there were only a few parking spaces in the entry area and all were full - and the drop off area is only wide enough for one car. Very poor layout,

Pool was closed. Amenities are included in price. No discount. Asked front counter. Front desk staff member was curt when I brought this up. Room was clean and the mini Starbucks was a plus. The hotel was dated and could use some updates. It would also be helpful to move the smoking area away from the front entrance.

The hotel needs some major updates and housekeeping updates. Our down comforter that was covered by a sheet on top had boogers and other brown stuff on it that we only noticed our last day. Behind the beds and end tables was full of dust balls and other gross stuff. The hallway rugs were disgusting and needed vacuuming and washing. Will not be recommending to friends or family. It’s too bad because the convenience of the waterpark being attached and the 2 kid beds are fantastic ideas

The room was great. Spacious and comfortable. No view though. Loved the bed pillows. I was also very happy that my room was cleaned everyday. Safe in the room was very nice for valuables. The room was clean but the grout on the bathroom floor needed a scrubbing. Also, the pool and spa were really nice, but also needed a cleaning. The pool deck and tiles were somewhat dirty. Overall, a really nice stay. Would come back.

The lobby was very nice and set high expectations of what the room would be like however when we got to our room we were very disappointed. The curtains were ripped, the couch was stained and dingy to the point neither of us would sit on it, the TV remote was very nasty it had crumbs and dirt stuck in it, and in the bathroom there was no fan, there was also a light in the shower but there was no light switch for that light which we thought was odd.

Check-in was quick and friendly. Got to the room and was hit by an overwhelming mold odor. Informed front desk of the problem via their follow-up text, got no reply until much later. I suspect the room was mopped or the carpet was cleaned with dirty water and not properly dried. We were tired, so we just went to sleep. The next morning I got in the shower, and found out too late that the conditioner was empty. Altogether nice place, but housekeeping needs to get it together.

As soon as I entered my room, I noticed hair on the bathroom counter and floor. The floor had pubic hair. I'm unsure if it was the refrigerator in the room or something else, but there was a tapping noise all night. The walls are also thin, and I could hear other guests. There was mold in the shower, and the bath towels and bath mat were stained. I have never stayed at a hotel as dirty as the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore.

First room was so worn and dirty. Felt very unclean. Second room was slightly better but hair everywhere, carpets are gross, and the overall upkeep of the hotel is lacking. Wouldn’t stay again.

The room was very large with a beautiful view. It was clean. (?not major but there was a rip in the sheer drape with a pin in it. The freezer needed to be defrosted). Basically no big deal. It was a lovely room. The staff at the front desk is wonderful, especially Siv. (Suv). Housekeeping staff also helpful but “no English”.

Room we were given was on the conference center side. Zero noise insulation, could hear my neighbor's conversation word for word at 2:30 am. Tub was chipped and stopper was partly broken. Room was set up for 2 people despite us saying we were a party of 5 and there were 4 beds in the room. Room was extremely dated.

I've stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton Boston North Shore a couple of times before this. This time they put me in room 224, an area by itself, with no elevator access. I had to fight to get the door to the room open. There was a balcony overlooking the east side entrance to the building, which probably could have been accessed from the room on either side and maybe the ground, not to my liking, I made sure I had the safety bar on the sliding glass door on. The climate control worked well in the room. There were no towel bars in the bathroom and no floor mat, but the shower worked well. The room was very clean!

good hotel for family. big rooms. they gave me the key and there was a guest sleeping in the room already. complaint and they changed the room. Went back to checkin, this time saw a naked man sleeping in the room already. It was traumatisng back ack to the lobby They said sorry, gave some cookies & this time they upgraded to a bigger room! thats it.

We asked for a wake up call and did not get one, almost missed our flight and it was the last time seeing my father as he is dying, the front desk service said they tried calling 3 times as we were sprinting to our taxi to the airport, but why didn’t they come knock then? WE NEEDED A WAKE UP CALL. Call my cell phone, leave a voicemail, knock on the door, keep trying to call. Nobody called and we just laid there in bed awake thinking it was not time to get up because the clock was broken, and we trusted that a wake up call would be provided, as there’s even a button labeled “wake up.” So it’s a service that is labeled as being provided , it wasn’t , and we were already upset over having to be there anyway because of the cancer. Nothing personal, but please try harder. Some people need a wake up call for fun or to go work out, but if I had missed my flight and my father passed away and I didn’t get to see him or say goodbye, that’s not forgivable. That’s not even something a full refund would help with. The phone never rang, and I’d be extremely distraught if it was a lie and there never was a call placed anyway. So it seems i won’t get to the bottom of it, but thanks for almost ruining my entire life with that.

This is a beautiful property with onsite Resturant and bar. It’s very clean and beautifully decorated. However, this is probably some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. I tried to reach a client 3 times from outside the hotel. You can’t get through, no one answers the phone. This was over a 3 day period. I was charged the room charge plus $100 deposit. Then the next day, another $100 deposit. I couldn’t even get a printed recipe for the room. But finally got 4 emails with mine but not my client. Wait staff was awful. I won’t stay there again because of service.

The hotel itself was very nice. The night we stayed, we needed dinner so went down to the restaurant to take food to the room. There was a wedding party at the bar and crowded which was fine. I was told to order from a bartender. I went up to the bar with my daughter to order. First off I have worked in a restaurant for 27 years. One bartender looked up and me and walked away. I thought, ok he's busy. The other bartender walked over toward me, made eye contact and turned away. I was watching they were not busy making drinks or any drink at all. I was kinda annoyed because it was almost 10 minutes at this point. They both noticed me again, walked away and stood down by the tv, talking to eachother looking up at the tv. Finally after looking down the bar I got a dirty look from the girl and the man came to take the order. Working in the industry (bartending for 12 years) I was upset. I still tipped the man pretty good for the takeout. Got back to the room and the whole order was wrong. I get having bad nights being busy, but I was ignored more than once for them to stand and watch the tv. And I paid almost $100 for all 3 meals to be wrong. I never leave reviews but I think this experience needed to be shared.

I'm sad to report that our stay was marred by consistently poor service and unprofessional behavior throughout the hotel. During both check-in and check-out, front desk staff were more focused on their phones than assisting guests. The employee handling our checkout kept texting throughout the entire process and never once greeted us or made eye contact. This set an unwelcoming tone from the moment we arrived. Throughout our stay, we made multiple trips to our car and repeatedly encountered the same housekeeping staff member in the hallway who appeared to be on her phone texting rather than attending to her duties. We never once saw her actively cleaning during any of our passes through the corridors. Most concerning was overhearing a manager in the lobby complaining to another employee about customers being difficult. This kind of conversation should never happen within earshot of guests and reflects poorly on the establishment's leadership and culture. A hotel experience depends heavily on making guests feel welcome and valued. Unfortunately, the staff here seemed disengaged and unhappy, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. This property would benefit significantly from renewed focus on customer service training and professional standards. I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience and hope management takes steps to address these serious service issues.

I showed up after pre-paying (over paying in my opinion) for a room only to find out that the hotel had given my room away. The staff was very unhelpful, with one front desk staff being annoyed she even had to help. I was one of three other reservations that had same issue checking in around the same time.

The room wasnt cleaned well. We needed towels and called the front desk to request some. They never came. Had to call again the following day. Hours later they brought some. The soap and shampoo bottkes in the shower were empty. I Honesty would not recommend this hotel. Ive never had an issue with Doubletree before. I was just a little disappointed with this one

The most important thing to me in a hotel stay, especially as a solo female traveller, is safety, cleanliness and a comfortable bed. I definitely felt safe, the bed was comfortable but it could’ve been cleaner. Nothing massive just some surfaces haven’t been wiped for a while and it’s not usual “hotel clean”. There’s plenty of parking but it’s quite a walk with luggage to get through hallways from the external car parks to get to your room. The room was VERY dark which is something I don’t think I’ve ever commented on in a hotel review. The furniture is quite dated but it’s still doing its job. Overall it’s quite expensive for a hotel that really isn’t close to anything and needs updating.

Staff is very helpful. I'm especially grateful to the cleaning staff who gave me some extra time to check out. I booked my entire trip from Maine to Danvers around a meeting at the hotel. I told the staff it might go long..and I requested some extra time to check out. They made it happen. This really meant a lot to me, I'm very grateful. I used this hotel for a conference and will absolutely come back...this Double Tree has plenty of space for conferences...which is not always the case in nearby Boston....plus parking is free.

Nice property, some would say "outdated" but its still really nice. Dining there is pretty expensive and not any options nearby. Plan on using door dash if you want to eat there.

Quick one night stay due to a local dance competition. Convenient location right off the highway. Great for kids and teens as there is a pool, Starbucks with tables onsite as well as a good restaurant and buffet breakfast. Nice lobby area with varied seating options. Food was good. Room was clean and spacious and beds comfortable. Very satisfied! I do think the buffet breakfast should be included in the cost but it's not.

This is going to be a list rather than paragraphs as to save everyone time... - Trash all over the garden beds walking up - Walked in and lobby reeked of gas... receptionist said it's completely normal 👀 - Informed room that was booked was changed for a "bigger" room (it's wasnt) - Room was on second floor... no elevator to second floor so thankfully no luggage otherwise 😅 - The heater sounded like a lawnmower so we had to turn that off (see video) - Coffee creamer in room was curdled and nothing to stir it with... - Breakfast was $18 buffet per person... the food was definitely not good... we paid and went to another place. - Lastly... parking is not close to the entrance so pack accordingly I've stayed in DoubleTree Hiltons previously... this one was definitely an adventure

The room was beautiful and the bed was comfy, we did find a false eyelash from a previous guest though. As well it was listed that breakfast was a 4.95 upcharge, turns out if you don’t pay for that while booking its $20 per person. Additionally, they charged us $12 for a shot of tequila. I mean overall it was nice, but man that pricing got outrageous fast.
