Very nice hotel with a great buffet breakfast. Within a half mile walk of U of M hospital and also within half mile walk in the other direction of many great looking restaurants. Comfortable beds and quiet place with nice artwork and many fine touchs. Valet parking is $25 but worth it not to have the hassle of finding parking. Super friendly desk personnel. Keurig coffeemaker in room, but no fridge or michrowave though we didn't miss them. I give it five stars though they had bottles of water for sale in the room for $2.50. Really? Tap water was fine. The desk person said, "it's an older hotel so you may have to wait for hot water" Early departure so we didn't have time for showers, so that wasn't an issue.. Because of the early departure, we DID appreciate that breakfast was open at 7 AM, however. All in all, a very nice place to stay. We would stay there again.

While the rooms are somewhat updated, the hotel itself is outdated. The bathroom door in the room didn’t close, the fitness center has 3 things in it, the Bell tower tolling gets old, and when I asked about late check out I was told it’s $100 per hour for every hour you stay later. Wouldn’t recommend

The Bell Tower Hotel provided a calm and traditionally appointed environment and accommodating and friendly staff. The gas fire in the lobby fireplace set the tone of warmth and comfort. We were also able to use the bright, clean dining area to gather as a small group at all times of day, which was important as we were visiting people not staying in the hotel. The rooms were clean and bright, and I appreciated having the beds made but not changed each day. Two points for improvement - 1) the carpets are dingy and in need of replacement, but they are clean. 2) the housekeeping staff uses the same small elevator as guests at the most high volume times (especially morning/checkout). A second elevator would shorten the wait for the single elevator in the front of the building.

Everyday housekeeping, and the housekeeping was some of the best I’ve seen as a traveler. Staff very nice. Valet was inexpensive comparatively (25 dollars a day)Amenities were not overpriced. Included breakfast was not bad at all. Ann Arbor hasn’t changed much in the 15 years since I’ve been there, still a nice town for dining experiences and shopping.

Great location! Easy walkability to U Michigan campus and nearby shops and businesses. Rooms were clean and standard, no fridge. The water pressure was extremely poor making showering a challenge. Breakfast was good.

Just an overnight but would definitely stay again. Delightfully surprised, the bathroom floor is heated! There is a tv in the bathroom mirror. Good towels, nice sheets very clean. Cookies in the afternoon was a nice touch.

Comfortable room but the standard double beds (full size) were a bit too soft for our liking. Updated Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hotel staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. Courtesy breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Loved the afternoon cookies and available fresh fruit bowl.

We often stay here for trips to Ann Arbor as you can walk to everything. You can get valet, we just park in residential parking 5 min walk north of the hotel. We stayed in room 309, top floor in the west corner. Room was quiet. Comfortable bed. It looks like the shower was recently renovated and was quite nice. My only issue was that for my shower both last night and this morning, the hot water took about 5 minutes of running before it got hot, so some water waste. Everything else was fantastic. Amazing service, everything was clean, and the cookies in the lobby were tasty. We did not stay for breakfast, but I recall enjoying their breakfast during previous stays. Overall, we’ll continue to stay here in the future.

In town visiting family for Thanksgiving. The Bell Tower Hotel was a option. It looks like it was recently redecorated (no scuff marks on the walls or base boards in the hallway). Our room was spacious and quiet. Bonus...the bathroom floor is heated! The breakfast room was nicely decorated and breakfast has plenty of options for us. Everyone who worked there was helpful and pleasant. I asked if they could store items I was taking for Thanksgiving in their freezer and they were happy to. Great area to run with plenty of dining options that you can walk to.

The Bell Tower location can't be beat and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms themselves are on the smaller side and there was lots of outside noise early in the morning when the garbage trucks show up, but I still enjoyed my stay.

The rooms were not sound proof and you could hear people talking from other rooms and hallway. The views from the rooms were terrible: facing walls, over looking a parked car in the alley or a rooftop with pipes, chimneys and covered with graffiti’s. It did not feel safe. We had to switch for a smaller room with a corner tv with no direct view from anywhere in the room and get some light through the window overlooking the rooftop with the pipes … to avoid the alley or facing a wall on one side and a vending machine we could hear grumbling from inside the room. Disappointing for $300/night in a university town.

Generally an excellent stay. The only issue, albeit being not a huge problem, was noisy AC/heating system. My solution was to turn it off completely when I went to bed. Other than that, not complaints at all. A lovely old style hotel with attentive staff. Thank you.

View was bad but understandable. Room was great but no refrigerator. The view I can forgive but no refrigerator, that is a must have for any hotel. Had things that needed to stay cool and ice was not going to cut it. Great hotel over all and staff was good and helpful. Thank you for the stay and hope to return again.

Found a bug in our bed which appeared to be a bed bug. While we weren’t certain the manager made no effort to make sure it wasn’t… She was rude, dismissive, and could care less about the hotel and its guests.

Well kept and very clean hotel. Nice entry and loved the cookies, water and coffee/tea available. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is right in the middle of campus so super walkable and easy access to dining, shopping and fun things to do. My only complaint was the front desk staff. The lack of warmth and customer service was a surprise for such a nice hotel. Both who served us seemed bothered by our presence. They were distracted, bored and rude - and we didn't ask for anything other than to check bags and a print out of the bill. Very normal stuff for any hotel, especially a nicer hotel.

Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and a fantastic location that is walkable to pretty much everything in town. Will definitely stay here again. My only gripe: $100 per hour for a late checkout is just silly, seems out of touch with what competitors offer.

It is summer at University of Michigan. The Bell Tower Hotel is right across the street from the University! Everything I wanted to see was an easy walk from here. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

Overall, one thing about Bell Tower Hotel is that its breakfast is quite mediocre. It would be fine in a more budget establishment, but this hotel aspires to be more a boutique hotel. It needs to hire a better chef.

Bedsheets were old and pilled. Very low water pressure, took 15 minutes running the shower to get just warm water. Breakfast was minimal, terrible weak coffee, low quality food similar to any inexpensive chain hotel with fake eggs and limited to highly processed food options. Would not stay here again. That said, staff were friendly.
