This property definitely needs updating. Painter’s tape held the baseboards together in the hallways. Even our room number on the door was hand written on a piece of tape. The elevator was disgusting - looked it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Room showed wear but was clean. Ran out of coffee at Saturday breakfast. Won’t stay here again.

Major construction, painting, recarpeting with no notice of construction. The rooms were extremely dirty. Floors have not been washed or swept in a very long time. We could not change our reservation or move hotels because we made the reservation months ago for a suite for 5 people because of a concert. Everywhere near the venue was sold out. Extremely poor quality and service. Manager told me we could leave. How about that for service?! We probably should have left and drove home 2 hours at midnight after the concert and saved the $260 dollars for the disgusting room.

The hotel is a lot older than it looks in the pictures. There was a smell when I walked in. Check in was long and they asked for way to much personal information. The desk gave me my room I have to walk dow a hall that was unmarked and looked like something out of a horror movie. I walk in the room and there was someone things all over the room. That scared the hell out of me. I told the front desk and she called her boss so they could talk about it. Then I had to wait while she went to the room to see if I was telling the truth. I was then “upgraded” to a better room. This room looked like a low budget apartment. The couch was peeling. There was mold and water damage in the bathroom the dish washer didn’t work, in all everything just looked old and run down. The pool is outside and the gym is super small. The breakfast is really extensive for a hotel. Lots of choices. Not the worst hotel ever but for the price it’s a hell no for me.

Our room was very sticky, i went and bought clorox wipes the cupboards counter and stove top were just ick. Like someone pours syrup all over it. Our stove kept turning on and off so i called front desk. The Gm on duty was very nice and showed concern. She offered to move us rooms but i had just unpacked and it was 10pm

The rooms were ok, but it was noisy, especially early in the morning. The hallways appeared to be in the middle of being repainted and recarpeted. There was only sloppily applied primer on the walls and the floor looked old. During our stay of 5 days, we saw no one working on walls. Breakfast choices were fine. Service staff at the front desk were fine but getting someone to empty the garbage cans was impossible. Getting fresh towels took multiple requests and follow ups. We saw others going to the front desk for towels and toilet paper. There was no spare toilet paper roll in the room. In the kitchen area, the eating and cooking utensils were not clean, and plates, knives, forks, and spoons were not in complete sets. The person who prepared the room was evidently indifferent to these details.

The room was VERY clean. Nice comfy couch to watch TV in the sitting room area. The kitchen was also very clean. There is a hot breakfast buffet with eggs, meat, cereal, breads, yogurt and a pancake maker. The pancakes were tasty and hot! There is some updating to the hallway base going on but the hallway had no mess. The hotel could use some updating but overall I was very pleased. This is the second time I’ve stayed here (3 days at a time) and will stay here again next business trip.

Katie at the front desk was very kind. However, the room in its entirety was disgusting. The room had only 1 garbage can in the entire suite and our suite had 2 rooms.. a sitting and sleeping space/room). The linens had stains and or never washed. There was only 1 face cloth. 3 of the silverware pieces had food (looked like mayonnaise stuck to them (never washed). The room had crumbs and litter bits on the floor. The refrigerator was never wiped down, had sticky stuff and crumbs in it. The toilet would keep running after flushed. The ice maker in room did not work. The room had a very bad musty smell, There was also sticky stuff on the chairs in the kitchen area, the couch was very worn, dirty and tattered, and there was 3 large burn marks on the desk chair. The elevator and floors in the hallways and spaces were very neglected (dirty/ dirty, stained, and damaged). I would NEVER go to this property again. We would have left the room, if the weather was not horrendous out. Because the room was not acceptable on any level.

The check-in process was easy. The desk clerk was friendly. I Immediately noticed the property is in process of a remodel with paint drops all over the carpets. The bathroom was not clean, there were hairs on the toilet & in the shower. I assume pubic hair because of location. I attempted to call the front desk but the room’s phone did not work & it was covered with dried white paint. I proceeded to front desk to request housekeeping. The front desk clerk arrived to clean the bathroom & while in the room cleaning, I found a condom in its wrapper on the floor under one of the beds. The front desk staff & manager were open to listening to my issues but because I booked through Expedia in a non refundable room she had no options. Friends stayed at this hotel in another room and also experienced issues with their room

By far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve experienced in years of travel. Do not be deceived by the photos. The rooms felt dirty and damp. I’m not sure how old the beds were, but when I pulled back the bedding to the mattress cover, I was horrified to see yellow stains and long strands of black hair. Fortunately, the top sheet was clean enough. The bed itself was far too soft for my comfort, leaving me with sleepless nights and back pain throughout my four-day stay. The bathroom is the biggest area of concern. The tub is dangerously slippery, though the front desk does provide sealed suction mats. The bathroom vent was also coated with visible dust. On the positive side, the lobby was pleasant, the staff friendly, and the complimentary breakfast average. I suspect renovations are underway, which may improve things, but it doesn’t excuse the lack of cleanliness. The fact that a cluster of black thread sat outside my door for days—something I initially mistook for a cockroach—along with other debris, proves the floor was never vacuumed. In summary: do not waste your money here. You can find far better accommodations for the same price.

Property was in disrepair, lots of construction. Elevator was dirty. The staff was very friendly though. The room was ok, mostly clean but mold in bathroom and other random small details. Lots of mechanical noises all night. My windshield was cracked when we went to car next morning. Can’t say it happened there, just when we first noticed it.

Outside the Sonesta looked nice, lobby and breakfast area was nice as well. Elevator old and slow. Carpets worn out. My room was decent liked it was a suite with a table and kitchenette. I liked there was a small couch and bed looked nice. Bathroom had chipped toilet seat and ground by sink and tubs stained. Overall it was a nice stay nothing fancy. Breakfast was decent. If some upgrades were made would be nice. Walls are thin so I can hear people walking and talking in the hallway.

Double suite with king and 2 queen beds, separate living and sleeping spaces was spacious, clean, PERFECT for travel with 2 adults and 3 teens with adult size bodies. Double suite also had 2 bathrooms and ample towels for our 4 night stay. Full size fridge and outdoor basketball court was a hit with teen boys. Outdoor pool was not yet open for the season. When we return to Auburn Hills area we will stay here!

We had a great experience staying in a 2 bedroom suite. It had a king bed in one room, 2 double beds in another bedroom, plus a large sofa bed, desk, chair, and a nice kitchen with a bar and 4 stools. The kitchen was pretty well-stocked with dishes, glasses, etc… and even had a dishwasher. They provided the dish soaps, detergents, shampoo, conditioner. We were very comfortable and my two youngest kids said even the sofa bed was comfortable. The breakfast was also good and included eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes, muffins, bagels, dry cereal, yogurt. We liked their coffee too. We would stay here again.

The associates at the front desk did not seem to know how to handle a crowd. At one instance three people were working on an issue one guest was facing and 5 guests were waiting. I had two rooms. The keys to one room did not work & I had to go to front desk three times to re-issue the key. This happened each of the three days. The associate said 'sorry' but did not seem to care why this was happenning. The breakfast had many items but it was a so-so breakfast. I guess that is what an included breakfast is.

They overbooked our room and all rooms were booked on that day. So we had to go find another hotel. Front desk staff told us that we should try nearby hotel but did not help us to call to check availability or anything. The told us that it will be canceled once we canceled the reservation on hotels.com but ended up charging us even we did not stay. We had to drive back to the hotel on the next day to get our money back. We were lucky we were still nearby There is no compensation from them and they just blamed the hotels.com for the overbooking. On side note, we ended up staying at one of the Marriott hotel and explained why we ended up to the hotel and they told us that if it happened there, Marriott provide a room or if all rooms booked, they pays for the another hotel as compensation. From now on we will only stay Marita hotel. We use hotel.com often and never have had this problem other than this hotel. This was terrible experience we never have had before and are disappointed in their customer service.

Cynthia, the manager was very nice to us. All the staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. There’s lots of variety there and fresh bread fresh buns fresh fruit was available along with a hot breakfast with eggs, bacon sausage, etc. it was delicious. We had a great time there for a couple of days and the rooms were absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen a room so big it was beautiful. We hope to come back another time soon.

Th hotel was purchased by a new management company one month ago. The new General Manager, Cynthia, her staff, and the Regional Manager, are working diligently to provide outstanding customer service while they refurbish the property. Cynthia’s ‘Five Star’ service and attention to detail was notable. She treated my husband and me, and every guest I saw her serve, with respect and courtesy. She was very responsive and helpful. Cynthia is an outstanding ambassador for her company and the Sonesta Suites brand.

We were looking forward to this trip. We stay in this hotel every year for an event in Auburn Hills & this year may have been the last year we stay here. First let me begin with the girl that checked me in, was that personal phone call so important that you couldn’t call them back after you helped me? Never went over anything other than the extra $100, & nothing else. Good thing I’ve stayed there before. This I told the girl at check out…No shampoo, conditioner or shower gel in the containers on the wall. There were no small one in the room either. Good thing I bring my own. There was a lid from a cup visible from behind the dresser, no coffee pot in the room, & the dishwasher never stop running. She never wrote it down so I hope the next person that stays in 301 see this. Breakfast was over at 8:30 when it clearly states it’s over at 9:30 on weekdays. So we stopped down the road. My disappointment is with the lack of service, cleanliness & not being able to eat breakfast both mornings we stayed. We came down early & there was nothing or scraps to eat. Very disappointed.

Had to check in later than expected due to poor weather conditions. Was stuck waiting for over 20 minutes to be let into the lobby to even check in as the front desk attendant was no where to be found. When finally able to check in, the woman was laughing and appeared to be under the influence. The lobby was full with a loud group, drinking and blaring music. Elevators were horribly dirty and the room has not been kept up. Will never be returning to this hotel.

The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was outstanding. It was healthy and had so many great options. We liked the little courtyard for walking. We didn't have enough shower towels in our room when we arrived but the staff gave it to us when we asked. They were also helpful in getting a playpen for my Goddaughter. The room was decently clean but in wall corners, bathroom edges and the bathtub there was visible dirt. Nothing major. Fridge shelves had water all over them as if it looked like it was defrosting from a previous incident. We would stay again. I stayed at another Sonesta and had a worse experience so I am happy that this one was much better. Thank you.

Pool is not open due to issues; no hair dryer in the room; staff preparing for breakfast was overworked - only one person and could not keep up with the demand. The lady who ran breakfast could not read instructions on the pancake machine. The layout of the room is great, very clean as well. It seems the service is not as great.

Property was undergoing a renovation. Our room was done and very nice. Other work in process in hallways. I'm sure in the end it will be very nice. We were without power in the morning. I don't think it was their fault but it meant we couldn't have our hot breakfast
