I stayed here weeks prior to this stay and I thought the place was pretty nice. However, coming back for a second stay was a bit different. The ice machine on the first floor was out of service and pulled out from the wall exposing all of the dust and filth built up behind it. Typically, the lobby has complimentary cookies out for guests, but each time from the minute I arrived until my departure, there were never any cookies offered. The room smelt of stale cigarette smoke and the couch had a tear on it. The remote batteries were dead so we needed a replacement, but couldn't easily call down to the lobby because the phone did not work. The pool was dirty and cold and the hot tub was drained. Overall, this experience was not a good one and I wouldn't return.

Lots of parking, right off highway. Always look forward to the hot tub, unfortunately the heater broke so no hottub and freezing pool. Would have really appreciated a heads up that they were down. Staff did not even say anything on check in.

We have stayed here before. Friendly staff and very comfortable beds/room. We booked this hotel this time around for the pool and hot tub for our kids and we got to the hotel the pool was closed. The kids were super disappointed and we asked if we could be compensated in any way but the answer was no. Room and hotel were pretty clean but main bathrooms and workout room could have been cleaner. Breakfast was middle of the road. And for these reasons we are only giving 4 stars. We would be willing to stay again though.

The Hot Tub was out of service. Pool door didn’t want to work half the time. Rooms are old and need repair. Otherwise clean but dated. Also, ice machine was not working. Breakfast had everything you needed for a basic free breakfast.

We arrived very late for check and were greater with an employee at the check in desk who smelled like weed. When we opened the door to our room, you could immediately see the stains on the carpet. The sofa was filthy, I didn’t even want to put my suitcase on it and definitely did not want any of my family to sit on it. Many of the outlets did not work and the ceiling light kept flickering. We had the air on but the room still felt very damp. One of my son’s shirts felt like he ran a marathon, it was that wet. I had thought about asking for another room but based on the hallway carpet and elevator floors, I didn’t think it would be any different. The breakfast area was clean and had many options which was nice. The lobby area was clean. This hotel is old and definitely needs updating!

Area is safe and convenient to highway and some other travel needs like food and gas. We encountered an issue in which we moved the sofa and it was unvacuumed and had a stray sock under there. Although someone came promptly to cleanup, I never felt 100% again. I was barely staying there and visiting my daughter, so I didn't pursue a hotel move. The common areas in the hotel have not been updated and feels dingy. The interior of the room was better, but still some ignorable maintenance neglect. The TV is digital channels and sucks to manage with no channel or shows names. All-in-all, I would not return. When I return to the area I will roll the dice elsewhere.

Staff was amazing!!! Especially the pink hair woman! Pool area could have been cleaner around the edging (mold!!!) and NEED more towels! There were not any ever in there for use. Also could use proper ventilation. Rooms were ok on cleanliness…random hairs and stains in bathroom & shower…fingerprints on mirror in entry area. No tp in room, had to go get it. Paint chipping off walls in suite & carpets are getting very worn in high traffic areas. Musty smell to room also.

The room across from ours had bed bugs, when we pulled back our sheets to check our bed we found items behind the bed from the last tenants. When we checked the couch we found pizza trash and toys and lots of dirt around in and under the couch. We didn’t find any bedbugs in our room however so that was a plus. We had a two bed room with a pull out couch. There were no sheets, blankets or pillows for the pull out. When I went to the front desk they told us they were out of blankets and pillows so my kids only had sheets. I checked back later in case there was a laundry issue and they said they were just out. They also charged someone’s credit card that was not mine for the room and couldn’t figure out what to do when I informed them about it. The hot tub was broken, the air in the pool area was broken and it was ridiculously hot and humid in the room. The breakfast area was set out in the morning and never restocked the entire time so if you came down even two hours before it was done most of the food was gone. It was overall a frustrating experience and quite disappointing.

Outlets didnt work, alarm clock didnt work, stood at the front desk for 10 minutes before someome showed to check me in, multuple different answers about checkout time, no parking spots available. First world problem, but some people might care that the TVs dont stream, but also the TV guide doesnt display and the screen kept freezing until I gave up and turned it off (whoch took several minutes for it to respond to).

The electrical outlets, phone and clock on the nightstand did not work. One of the guests uses a C-pap machine for severe sleep apnea and was unable to use it that night. There were no other outlets close enought to the bed to be able to use. The front desk clerk (Mark) was friendly and helpful and able to refund one third of the price of the hotel room. Spots on carpet and dirty sectional was off putting.

Hotel was in poor condition due to age/lack of remodeling. Christmas party for staff during check-in so they were drunk. Not joking, definitely drunk and unprofessional. Would not choose to stay here again nor recommend. Beds were comfortable and it was a safe location but I will pay more to stay somewhere else next time.

Got worken up at midnight by guests across from us partying and being obnoxiously loud when i called the front desk he said he would call them to be quiet. Obviously he didn't because they continued until 2 am. Then the same guests were really at 7. The bathroom of our room was also dirty and the Kleenex holder fell out of the wall. The pool water looked gross and the hot tub wasn't hot. Not a good night stay at all

I booked the stay via Hotels.com. Comfort Inn charged me for the night that was already paid for and now me and Hotels.com are fighting Comfort Inn to get my credit card refunded! I was NOT given a receipt so Hotels.com acts like they cannot help me without it. I have screenshots of my credit card statement where I paid Hotels.com and where Comfort Inn charged me. The breakfast actually stayed well stocked throughout the designated times. Two waffle machines helped move crowds along. King bed was older but a quality built bed so sleeping was easy on the medium firm mattress. As always Little Africa Cuisine on Fulton St was an Amazing Unique celebration of food. I don't know of another restaurant like this in the United States. Also, the Social House next to Van Andel Arena had a budget friendly menu with interesting appetizers and amazing pizza!

The hotel was beautiful but the only complaint I have was the breakfast was sad..a simple sausage patty and some mediocre eggs flats a waffle maker and just cereal..if anything I was hoping they would do atleast biscuits sausage and gravy or something you could actually get a full stomach on..also their marketplace where they sell chips and drinks were highly overpriced and the portions for the price is definitely not worth $2 for a child size bag of chips and $4 for a can of pop.
