Radisson Hotel Grand Rapids Riverfront

Pool and hot tub closed down . Lounge closed at 10. Noisy from expressway. A/c made noise. Shower was cold in morning. Would not stay again.

This hotel is a great deal and by far one of the nicest places for the money. The pool and hotub are super nice. I heard it was closing and being turned into apartments. That breaks our heart!

Hotel did not feel clean. Pool was disgusting. There was no coffee pot in our room, even though they were supposed to be.

The hot tub and pool were broken. That was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. The bar and lounge has been closed for months.

Hot water on the shower was intermittent at best, pool and hot tub were both closed for maintenance.

This property is just ok. It's undergoing some renovation & the pool/hot tub are closed. The hallway has a funky smell as well as our room did too. Spraying a bit of perfume helped cover it up though. The beds were comfy & clean but the tub, floors throughout & additional areas needed work to clean/repair things. Orbits, you fooled us again with a very less than par location & facility. Pulling up to beggars on the street breaks my heart but removes my feelings of safety. Our family sadly will use a better planning tool for our next trip/stay. Choose this location with caution. If I had booked more than 1 night here, I would have left immediately. We're making it work for our 1 night.

This was not our first time staying at this hotel. I was happy to see that we were given a room on the top floor. (We've had issues with loud people above us a couple of years ago, but they took care of us, we moved in the middle of the night and found us moved to a suite on the top floor!) When we got there, both elevators were in working order, then one stopped working, then the other one had issues with opening and closing, also the staff had to use that one elevator so we were left waiting for so long that we opted for the stairs. During our stay, we had to take the stairs a few times due to elevator issues. And we were in the 7th floor! The breakfast at the restaurant is well priced for a reason. You get premade breakfast sandwich that seemed to have just been heated up and not very hot at that). The hotel is conveniently located close to the 131. Overall I do recommend this hotel, just don't expect a 5 star experience. But it was clean and our rooms were made daily.

For almost $300 a night, i would expect nicer rooms rooms that the bathroom door would shut all the way.Bathroom faucet fell off when using it. The room looked to be your typical hundred dollar a night room. The pool and hot tub was really nice. Staff was really nice as well. There is no food, no breakfast. Gym is small

The staff was very nice and the beds were comfortable however it was very dirty. Hair on the floor. Sticky floors. Was very cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for.

Walked in to a dirty shower and dirty bed. No towels and staff took 4 hours to get us towels that we asked for. Deposit takes a whole month to come back is crazy for a 1 star motel. Used to come here all the time and the place turned into quite a dump. Dont let those pictures fool you. Using tvs from the 90s is hilarious too

It was filthy. Rotten food on the side of the bed, Marijuana smell throughout the hallways and elevator all day and night, loud rap music playing until 4:30am, continues traffic through the hallways with sketchy people, doors opening and closing nonstop, hvac unit was stuck on high cold. I had to unplug it because it was so loud, you can see through the cracks of the door all the way to the hallway, bathroom door didn't close all the way due to hardware missing from door jam,did i mention the place was filthy? Cockroach ran under bed in the morning when we were packing to get the hell out of there. Broken glass in the parking lot along with trash. Now lets get to how inconvenienced i was. I had to find new lodging as i was staying for 3 more days, i had to take all of our clothing and luggage to a dry cleaner to get washed because i didn't want to travel with their cockroaches and my family and i had to find something to do all day because we couldn't check into new lodging until 4pm. What was supposed to be relaxing turned into sleepless worrying all night. Worrying about someone stealing my truck, worrying for my families safety, and worrying about where we would go the following day. I received no apologies, in fact the girl at the counter didn't even seem surprised by what i told her. No compensation... nothing! This place is just a shell of what it used to be. Could be something special but with the clientele that they have, it'll never be anything good.

There was a bed bug on the wall!!! 30 minutes after my check in I found the bed bug! I went down to tell the front desk and asked them to come up and see it for themselves & that I was LEAVING and wanted a refund. The front desk told me there was no refund policy!!! After I had to sign paperwork about no pets and no smoking BUT I can’t be reimbursed for a room I REFUSE to stay in after finding a bed bug 30 minutes into my stay. He offered me another room at the hotel. I told him multiple times I did not feel comfortable and I was leaving and NOT staying there. All he could do was give me a piece of paper with the managers contact info and still refused my refund request. DO NOT STAY AT THIS NASTY HOTEL!! YOU WILL TAKE BED BUGS HOME WITH YOU. I have pictures of the bug and would love to share them.

Horrible unclean rooms

I found bedbugs in the bed and pillows. There was blood stains on the sheets also. There’s no manager to speak to about a refund. They have been avoiding my calls.

There was also tooth paste on mirrors walls and closet glass, and one room had BLOOD on the curtains. The staff gave us a bottle of windex and a rag for us to clean the room ourselves. We asked for a pot of coffee to be made(which you had to pay for) and the concierge rudely told us to go make coffee in our room. The corporate office needs to take this hotel over and reevaluate its building and staff.

The first room had food on the heater and gum or something on ceiling. The second room after asking to be moved was less than ideal as well. 3 lights in the room were burned out. The sinks stopper was broken and the tv didn’t work well.

We knew it wouldbt be anything special, it was budget friendly. We upgraded to the river view room, and it was just a waste of money, dirty windows and a view of the roof of an adjacent building, no view of the river. I attached a pic of our view. It was located in a pretty rough part of town, so you had to drive to get anywhere worth going safely. For the difference in price we will definitely stay elsewhere next time, but the staff was really nice.

Missing bathroom light bulb, shower/tub not working correctly.

The room was clean. Updating of the walls and bathroom necessary due to water rot in drywall. A bar was advertised , but there was no bar. Thin walls overall, we could hear the wedding party walk and talk in the halls.

Upon arriving, they did not have salt down. Its was very slippery. Got into the room and it was not very clean. There was hair on the sheets. The tubs wasn’t very clean and neither was the toilet. We asked the staff for new sheets so we just laid on top of the new sheets. Toilet kept flooding. The latch to secure the door was also broken but we had someone come fix it. The staff was nice though and did their best to accommodate us. They were super busy the entire stay and the line at check in always stayed very long

The hotel is in a good location for getting to from downtown especially in an Uber. Our room seem to be recently remodeled and was nice and clean. The bathroom probably needed a gut but still was nice. Our mattress was great very comfortable. Cons very noisy being that it’s next to the expressway, check in was very late and check out was very early and the manager was up on our floor knocking on doors at like 1105. I’ve never seen that before making sure people were checking out. The pool was ice cold there was supposed to be a Starbucks pop up, but not really And the buffet they offered at $12 left a lot to be desired. The fitness center was literally two treadmills and an elliptical. For what I paid I got $40 off. I wasn’t too upset if I paid full price. I don’t know if I’d be happy still it is still cheaper than downtown with free parking though.

Rundown thin walls could hears in nearby rooms. Warm a/c not working well. Area located looked sketchy. Bathroom a tiny box

The sitting area overlooking the river is nice. All balconies are fake. No stepping out of your room to look at the river. The have stepped up the cleaning of this hotel from my last stay 3 years ago.

We paid extra to have a view of the river. The windows were so dirty. We couldn’t hardly see the river! Our feet stuck to the bathroom floor and the carpet was filthy. The beds were very comfortable, but this is an older building and needs major upgrades.

Was relatively clean, but very outdated. Bathroom was very old and worn out. It was fine for a one night stay.

We never got our room. We went there to stay for a concert. When we walked in there were 10 people waiting to check in. After waiting for 20 minutes they finally told us that their system has been down for hours and don’t know which rooms are available and not available. After the front desk got off the phone with comcast they said it would be back up at 7:30pm. So we left for the concert and came back at midnight we left a family go in front of use to check in because of the little kids. Once we got up we were told there was no more rooms available besides one that has been closed for months. After waiting so long for a room we decided to go ahead and make the drive home.

I waited about 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk and I was the only person in the lobby the whole time, which felt way too long for 9:30 at night. It seemed like there was only one person working in the entire hotel. When he finally showed up he was nice and efficient, but they really need more than one person on staff. The rooms are very run down and mine smelled like smoke. I was too tired to complain or switch rooms. The shower didn’t drain properly. Overall the place felt neglected and could use some investment and care. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Very friendly and accommodating front desk/ reception staff!

Arrived late in the evening, called motel and let them know, receptionist said it was fine took our names to verify our reservation, when we arrived we were told no rooms left so we were unable to check in, we had no where to go as everthing in the area was fully booked, my daughter slept in the vehicle, my sister and myself put 2 chairs together in lobby and slept on them, my son slept on the floor and the other 2 stayed awake all night in chairs, the second night I was given a room that was not cleaned there was garbage in the baskets, bed unmade, no clean linens in bathroom they were all lying on the bathroom floor, went back down to lobby to request another room and no one was around, nor did they answer the bell, after waiting for a bit with no service I had no other choice but to stay in the room assigned, upon checking out i told the reception that my room wasnt cleaned from the previous night and that i came back down to lobby to get another 1 but no one was around her reply was "he left" the best way I can discribe my stay was a total disaster

While the remodeling was nice, the ice machine was out of order til Friday afternoon. We had to buy ice for 3 days of our stay. The restaurant has been closed for a while. Heard lots of people complaining about their check in process and rooms not being ready at 7 pm. When we checked out Saturday morning, the internet was out

WiFi was down at check in and when we returned in the evening after a concert we found out they sold our room to someone else even though we booked a month in advance! There was a lobby full of people who were without rooms due to staff giving rooms away while we were all at a concert. The staff was rude and offered no solutions. It’s been a week and I’ve called every day for a refund and management will not return my calls or

Oh my goodness- after our original stay that we rated good we continued this with another 6 days. If the service had been better I would have continued to rate this as good, however, despite having asked almost every day, our room was only serviced on the morning of the last night of our stay, and that was only because I ended up speaking to the manager and complaining about the appalling lack of service and ignored requests for toilet roll, towels, bins to be emptied. We ended up piling rubbish and dirty towels outside the room in the hope a hint would be taken. If you are staying for one or two nights you will be fine, but if you are staying for any length of time good luck!

Internet was down on June 13, 2025 so they could not check me it at 4:15 pm. I came back after concert at 11:15, same problem. They said they would issue refund, but have not. Tried calling Saturday and today, but nobody cared to answer. Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a Radisson

I waited 1.5 hours from checking into getting my room. This hotel is poorly run and the entire staff should be removed and replaced with people that care about customer service and hospitality. Staff your hotel. There was only one person working on a Saturday night of graduation weekend. We got some excuse that they had to check the batteries of the locks on our room door because there were “issues” throughout the day. So many people were in the lobby irritated and angry. Just didn’t make for a comfortable scene.

This property had some pretty critical reviews, so I was a bit worried ahead of my stay. It was a late booking during a conference, so options were limited. The place overall was ok, but limited. The patio was “closed due to restaurant being closed “ which I thought was unique. It could definitely use an update. My main issue is honestly location (which they cannot help). There really aren’t any decent walkable food options for breakfast or dinner. With all the other options in the area, I would probably choose something else.

Booked a two night stay so my daughter and I could visit GVSU for a college recruiting trip. Hotel was in much worse shape than pictures depicted. I got the impression it was a rehab project and the owners were trying to turn it around but they have a long way to go. For the money, I think there are probably much better alternatives in the Grand Rapids area. Seemed like it was in a shady part of town. The elevator and hallway smelled like marijuana. My daughter felt unsafe at the hotel. If I had to stay more than one night I would have canceled and moved to a different hotel.

Run down, out dated appearance. No breakfast and the on site restaurant that was advertised on web site was closed.

I booked this hotel for the restaurant so i didnt have to leave the property with the family for dinner. Unfortunately the restaurant isnt operational. It "opens" for breakfast where they only offer bagels and cereal for a charge.

The Lobby was nice. But no restaurant or lounge. The bathtub needs to be re-galzed, the walls and doors of the hallways need to be painted. It didn't feel like a Radisson hotel. The bed was very hard and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Also the shower gel nearly blinded me. The irritation was so bad I had the put a cool towel on my eye just to get through the night. There should be a warning label on the toiletries informing of severe eye irritants. Nearly 24 hours later and I am still experiencing eye irritation.

The room was clean overall, but the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. The WiFi was terribly slow making it difficult to work remotely. I opted out of housekeeping upon check-in but they came in anyway when I was sleeping. The onsite restaurant was closed and the breakfast offered was bagels, muffins, yogurt and sad looking bananas. Overall it’s acceptable but overpriced.

first of all there was no address on the email receipt so we had to look it up ourselves, also this is supposed to be a 3 star hotel but they don’t even save continental breakfast and we had to go somewhere and BUY food ON TOP of the $150+ I had to spend just to stay here. You have banquette rooms, fancy lobby and future but you can’t serve breakfast? So lame, never staying here again

Pool, hot tub and lounge area were closed and not posted on t Travelocity website. Paint chipping in the bathroom and most ice machines not working. Won’t be back.

To start, the room was not bad. But that was the best of it. There was no cleaning for the entire 4 days of our stay. We specifically booked a full service hotel to be able to eat at the restaurant and have drinks in the bar. But both of these are not functioning. Then when we purchased alcohol to bring back and drink on the pool deck to enjoy the view, we were told it violates the liquor license to have outside alcohol. But of coarse the bar is not open. Apart from that, the area did not seem safe with a homeless encampment across the street. I came out to find my truck bed cover damaged one morning. And the overall appearance of the property is weedy and dirty. We only paid about $85/night, so not bad, but I would rather pay more and have all the amenities and safety that I thought I was paying for.

Although it was mostly quiet at night for sleeping, there was no breakfast and restaurants were not near by. When making the reservation, this could have been communicated in order to make a better decision to stay for four days spending extra money to travel and pay for breakfast.

This hotel is totally thumped. Carpets are dirty. Stains on furniture. No restaurant or bar.
