While our room had a view of a concrete wall (no joke!), we had to switch rooms because we didn’t have the pullout sofa we reserved and the pool was not in service (should Hilton not lower the price for a subpar room/service or give us credit toward a future stay? Remember when companies worked hard to keep customers happy?), we had a good nights sleep.

Parking was a problem because a couple of large trucks were allowed to park horizontally, taking up close to 20 spaces. Was forced to park at the hotel next to the Hampton Inn. I was told this occurrence was unusual, but I was not offered an apology. Otherwise, my stay was great.

Convenient location and nice staff but that was the extent of the good experience. We booked a room with a sofa bed for our eldest child but didn’t have one so ended up sleeping 3 to a bed (would have complained and moved but had already unpacked the babies things before we realised). Room was right next to elevators so children were disturbed all night because of the beeping noises. Then we went to the pool in the morning (one of the main reasons we booked this hotel) and it was freezing cold so couldn’t be used, was told we could use sister hotel so got kids all packed up in swimwear then the sister hotel pool was closed!

The only complaint here was that the parking for the property was full. The back side of the building has parking as well. Although the front desk attendant was notified several times based on her own admission that 2 fill size pick up trucks with trailers were taking up 13 parking spaces close to the entrance nothing was done. It was 23 degrees out that night when we arrived at midnight. After a very brisk walk all the way around the building we did find the hotel to be very nice.

Didn't know the pool wasn't available until I checked in. Wanted to swim. Usually a property is cheaper with no pool so it's seems like we were overcharged. Also, the shower gel pump container in shower was empty.

i was very disappointed we always stay at Hampton Inns . I asked before i booked if there was a pool the answer was yes until we arrived no pool access.???? Very disappointed The hotel itself was not very clean not what we are used to in a Hampton inn. Please email me so I know you received my concerns.

Came for a quick weekend trip, never been to GR. Immediately after checking in, checked out of hotel due uncleanliness and unsanitary conditions. The soap was already used, ceilings on table, microwave was dirty, the bed had yellow stains on it.

We had a one-night stay at this property. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were nice. Plenty of parking, right outside the main entrance. Breakfast was not as good as other Hampton Inns I have stayed in, but that was a minor detail. Coffee was delicious! The area this hotel was located in seemed very nice, with a lot of shopping and restaurants close by. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Just a one night stay in GR. Our son moved to another part of town so this was our first time at this Hampton Inn. The front desk staff was courteous and thorough at check in. We had a small problem when we got the single king bed room reserved by our other son instead of the 2 double bed room we needed. The lady at the desk took care of it right away and with ease, no problems! Room and bath were clean. Didn't get to the pool but it was open. Breakfast was top notch. Hot and cold items. Plenty of tables for a crowded Sunday morning. Will DEFINATELY come back the next time in GR!

The room had a terrible smell. We kept the window open for fresh air despite it being cold outside, which did not help with the bad odor. The bathroom floors were disgusting, when we picked up a towel that had been used and on the floor it was black, the floors clearly have not been mopped regularly.

We were only there from about 10:30 PM- 7:00 AM but was one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. Smelled fresh and not musty. We travel to GR a lot of sports and we WILL be staying here again. Great breakfast as well!

Stayed on 19th of June! My room was dirty. Was awaken at 8am of someone trying to get into my room. Yelled that I was in there. They came back 10 minutes later, asked that I had to go to the front desk. Got dressed, went to front desk. Apparently I wasnt supposed to be in that room that THEY put me in. Went back to room and decided to leave since I was up, realized I dont even have a shower curtain, so no shower for me. What a ShitShow!! Avoid this place like the plague!

Was less than thrilled with the room. It didn’t appear the bathroom was cleaned before we got our room keys and we found that out the next morning when I hopped in the shower and saw long black hair in the shower on the shower curtain, shower wall and bathroom sink. A layer of dust was visible on the shelves where they placed the folded towels. Our room was on the first floor, and you could hear everyone’s doors on the second floor and all around closing. It sounded like constant loud slamming doors. I think it’s that their doors don’t close easily so people have to put force into them. The heating and cooling unit in the room made a constant clicking noise which was disruptive to sleep. Also, the pool was closed for maintenance, but there was/is nothing on their website that says the indoor pool was closed for maintenance and that was a large reason we booked a room here. I got a couple texts from the front desk, checking in on our stay and I messaged them about the issues we experienced while we were there and even sent photos of the nasty hair around the bathroom and nobody responded. Completely unacknowledged us. I would not return to this hotel and I’m disappointed I wasted my money on a less than enjoyable stay

Staff seemed put out during check-in. Hotel was loud. You could hear everything outside the room. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was lackluster; out of coffee, orange juice and egg option the majority of the time offered. Took away the waffle maker at 9:15, leaving little to choose from. You had the choice of a green or red apple for fruit option, one of each total. Understand the hotel was busy, but the service and what what’s advertised/options were subpar and lacking.

No cable tv and no closed captioning on TV. Hot water in shower goes to icy in seconds then to scalding. Bed was comfy and pillows were good. Still dont know why the accessible rooms are the furthest away from the elevators. That's not convenient

We could see that many things have been updated. It looked really nice! Everything was clean and in good shape except the king bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I thought it was just me but my husband said the same. But otherwise we liked our stay very much.

I would have given 5 stars but the room, tho it was very clean it had a terrible smell of mildew and the tv had no guide so you never knew what you were watching or could be watching. My sister and I planned a weekend of snacks and scary movies. It ended up snacks and channel surfing.

The girls at desk were great but the hotel is outdated and our king "suite" was nothing more than an open room with an uncomfortable sitting area. You cannot see the TV from the bed nor is it a smart TV. The room we were checked into the first night, smelled like stinky feet and didnt feel like it had been thoroughly cleaned. The front desk was able to switch us into a different room on night two, without hassle, which was nice of them. My husband and I come to the area (from out of town), once a year, for Christmas shopping. Its our one wknd away per year, without our kiddos and we look forward to the hotel stay. We wont stay here again in the future.

Though there was a challenge with a tech outage, check-in, room assignments, & having personnel open our door so we could drop our luggage was handled smartly & professionally. We left for a visit, and when we returned we were given our own card keys; the app room key function did not work. Special recognition to CEE CEE at the front desk. She was attentive, informative, & hospitable. Made us feel like we were staying with a friend rather than being customers. Lovely breakfast, too. Would stay at this property again & recommend.

I will never support this company ever again. Planned a fun girl's trip and as soon as we walked into our room we were hit with a strong Marjuana smell. So bad that one of us were having breathing issues. Requested room change and was denied. Requested to rent another room and was denied. Staff did not accommodate at all and were incredibly rude. Had to move to hotel across the street 2 hours into our stay and they refused to refund, lied saying Expedia has to refund because it's third party. My sister called again to request a refund and they were disrespectful and hung up on her. Shame on you.

Wonderful staff. Offered to shuttle us to Van Andel arena for a concert. It was so convenient and the driver (who worked for the hotel) was very nice and accommodating; dropped us off and picked us up right in front of the venue. Very responsive to our needs. Would definitely recommend especially if there is a big event in downtown Grand Rapids (we went during Art Prize), when the downtown hotels are booked up and high priced.

I had a great stay here the hotel property was very well taken care of, no trash in parking areas, the rooms were big and well kept. The staff was extremely hospitable Tammy and accommodating. The property is seated in an excellent area for eating, shopping, and attractions. Most of which are in walking distance depending on the weather.

This property is in need of serious upgrades! The large table near the breakfast area has all the chairs with NO CUSHION IN THE SEAT PAN, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. The quality of the breakfast was very poor; you simply cannot do omelettes unless they are made to order as people order. All the outer portion of the " omelettes " were all brown ( they should be egg yellow color!)and dry, virtually tasteless. Scrambled eggs are the way to go, they stay warm in those big silver rounded trays as does bacon/ sausage which was not available (?). People don\'t expect a gourmet breakfast, but eggs/ bacon/ sausage/ toast/ juice/ coffee combo is usually mistake proof. Breakfast is important because on most of my business trips there isn\'t time for lunch, so a good simple breakfast is a game changer the next time I select a hotel. The people were great, but breakfast and facilities were very lacking.

Friendly desk staff. No one came to provide maid service during a 2 night stay so we had to reuse washcloths and had no coffee packets. Bed remained unmade. Breakfast was mediocre. Very little fruit- didn’t look fresh. No gluten free options. Eggs had cheese and I’m lactose intolerantz

Everything was ok. I just felt like the continental breakfast was not enough for everybody. I woke up at around 7 before 8 to get breakfast and there is barely any warm meals, there is no batter for the waffles and no sausage/bacon. I ask for a refill for the food but they only refill 2 small cup of batter for the waffles not even checking if anything else is empty.

Everything was good, except the breakfast. They were out of the egg dish of the day, the sausage and potatoes were cold...possibly the worst I\'ve ever had and I have been in a lot of similar hotels. ADVICE: SKIP THE EGG/CHEESE "OMELETTES " they are tasteless and seemingly always too Brown and leftover. Scrambled eggs are universally more accepted and would be much better. It\'s frustrating when you look forward to breakfast and get cold, rubber eggs.
