The pool was all dug up and unavailable-should be noted on thier ad. cable TV not working the one day. you should'nt let them advertize on expedia

The pool was being excavated which was a reason for staying. They did offer for us to go to another hotel but that was inconvenient. We stayed cause we had the reservation but would have been happier if we could have used the pool after a busy day or if they offered free breakfast.

Staff very friendly. Room ok, could have been cleaner. Bed was clean but floors quite dirty. Floors need to be mopped after every customer when they clean the rooms. Pet friendly. They had a building which indicated you could do laundry. Put money in the machine. Didn’t work. Lady at front desk seemed upset when we asked her for refund of what we put in washing machine. She said, “ The laundry is not one of our amenities. “

Was very happy with our stay, room was clean and very comfortable. The only thing was that the pool and hot tub was closed as it was being redone. Overall was a great stay and will stay again when in the area

This property seems to be in transition. The pool area is under repair. The laundry area is closed. There were no washcloths or face towels. The office does not open until 9 AM.

The motel was a little dated, but very clean and convenient. It was nice to have the pool at a close by site since the one affiliated directly with Thunderbird was closed. It looks like it will be really cool when they are finished. We didn't have any complaints. I had let the hotel know we would be late coming in, but they called shortly before 11 to make sure things were going ok and I appreciated them reaching out to see if there was anything they could help us with.

Room was OK, but could use some updating (peeling wallpaper, old electrics, not the most comfortable bed) it did the job anyway. Wifi worked well, and it's in a good location, easy enough to walk to the either ferry terminal. No breakfast included, but you get vouchers for 2-for-one at other places nearby if you want,and the room has a microwave and fridge, so you could just get your own! Walls are very thin though especially to connected room as could hear normal volume talking through it, fortunately didn't have noisy neighbours, or could have been a real problem. Staff were lovely, and given its a good deal cheaper than other places was an alright place to stay.

The front desk staff was exceptional and very helpful with everything from tickets to directions. The hotel was very convenient to the ferry to Mackinac Island. It was just a walk across and down the street. The hotel is older, and they are working on updates. In order to use the pool (indoor and outdoor) you needed to walk to the hotel next door as they were redoing theirs.

No breakfast.

This property was advertised as having a pool and hot tub. You have to go off site to a different motel in order to visit either of these. It is very misleading.

Ants were swarming in shower area upon check in. Paint was peeling off the doors. Property changed our room but new room had large beetles.

The room was very clean. It was a bit dated but I would stay here again if in the area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Checked in after 10PM, room was clean and neat. Heat and AC worked fine. Checkout at 8AM was quick. I would stay in the future.

The room was dusty. The bathroom had a bad odor. The light cover was missing in the restroom. The floor had stains on it and looked dirty. Overall not very impressed.

The room was disgustingly dirty. Bottom of feet were black if one went barefoot. The bathroom stunk like pee. Pool was green but we were able to get indoor waterpark passes at a different facility for free. The only this good about the stay was the front desk was friendly and helpful.

Our room had a horrible musty smell when we walked in. The carpets were stained to where I did not remove my shoes. The sheets felt like I was sleeping on a windbreaker. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

If cleanliness is important to you, maybe skip this hotel. The counters were dirty (dried fluids and dead bugs), the pillows had hairs on them, and the floors weren’t mopped.

Sheets were stained and dirty. The bedside chest was full of crumbs. The top of the chest refrigerator was dirty. The floor turned my feet black so never stepped out of my shoes. The bathroom smelled like cat urine.

Our room had a musty smell.

You don’t get much for the money these days. Pro: comfy bed. Good towels. Con: some outlets didn’t work. Horrible noise from bathroom light. Shower curtain rod bent so shower sprayed all over bathroom.

Electrical outlets need replacing, plugs loose in receptacle and 1 outlet not working!

Checkin took a long time for a prepaid stay. Small lobby and people lined up out the door at 4 pm. I got there a little early and told I had to wait. When I came back there was the line. Walls thin. Could hear people outside on the walkway talking until at least midnight. Could hear toilet flush and shower in next room. Certainly way overpriced for facility but I needed a place to stay that night.

The property was clean. Staff was very nice. The room was very small and I thought an extra $50 for our 2 dogs was too high.

From the description, I was expecting it to be closer to Mackinaw city downtown district. I didn’t feel comfortable walking from the hotel to other attractions. It is a short drive though and parking was not too much of an issue. The room we were assigned did not match what we selected (we selected a one bed room and we had two beds — the 2nd bed was just in the way) The condition of our room was not great. For instance, the lampshades were ripped, the wallpaper was peeling. I was not a fan of the mattresses in our room. They were both very soft. The price was good though and we had other things to do so we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel except to sleep. The pool looked nice but we didn’t try it.

some of the outlets are bad. I had a hard time plugging my chargers. Other than that, it was good.

The bed was horrible. It sat on wheels and seemed like a portable bed. Far from comfortable. The room smelled musty. Had to keep windows open to get fresh air. Location was ok for what we needed.

Did not have our reservation when we arrived. Also did not have the room that was reserved. Sent us to another hotel which was their sister hotel. At that hotel they were bad mouthing the first hotel. Will not try to stay there again. Very disappointed.

The staff member that checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. When we arrived in the room, it was noted the dead lock was broken to the adjoining room. We told a housekeeper who looked at it immediately then got her supervisor to check it. She found that maintenance would be needed and Aaron arrived very quickly. He was on call. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. He installed a new deadbolt. We stayed 4 nights and had no problems. My husband enjoyed the pool. Frig and freezer section worked well. Comfortable bed and sofa. We would stay there again.

Not honoring the commitment. They said they overbooked due to a technical glitch in Expedia and forced me to stay at different property which has no wifi Internet and lesser star.

I called to let them know I would be arriving late. They asked me to call if I would be arriving ahead of schedule, which I did. I called 1.5 hours prior to arrival. I was then texted instructions to text or call 10 minutes before getting there, so someone could meet me. I texted and called and received no response. I had to drive around to find another hotel.

I made a reservation and paid in advance. I arrived at the Thunderbird at 10:20 and was told I did not have a room due to overbooking. Again, room was already paid for!! I was traveling with my 2 elderly parents. I got upset but was told this motel also owned the neighbor motel so I could get a room there. The room was in need of updates. Toilet was clogged which resulted in a trip to office to be given a plunger to fix myself. Big spider in tub. Shower curtain rod was not affixed to the wall and was not secured. As I had no other option we stayed but got out first thing in the morning. The whole experience was stressful! I would not stay again and would not recommend!

The check in process is SO SLOW, the staff are in no hurry and there is frequently a line out the door. When rooms are assigned, they did not look at all like the pictures. One of the two rooms missing a refrigerator. That room also had NO pressure in the shower. Maintenance could not fix, and we had to argue with the front desk for a new room. Literally there was no water in the shower. The hotel is in desperate need of maintenance as the rooms are not in good shape. I will never stay at this hotel again. The owners also own the 2 hotel next to this one.

This hotel in Mackinac city is a nice place to stay, if your looking for a nice place to stay thus is it. Reasonable prices, a pool and rooms are clean and comfortable. Its not on the main street but still close to the boat docks and downtown

Clean, quiet and close to the main tourist shopping area and ferry to Mackinac Island. There was a free shuttle to the ferry as well.

The room was commensurate with the price....clean and close to downtown and dock attractions in Mackinaw City ....10 minute walk or a very short drive

Thunderbird Inn was away from the main walkable strip, which can be an advantage if you want to be access the businesses but have a little distance between your family and all the hustle. I'd say a 5 minute drive from any shops or attractions. This was in our favor. The room was slightly dated but clean and quiet which was exactly what we wanted. Unfussy. Good value. Would stay again, would recommend.

This was a pleasant place to stay. Woman at front desk was vey nice and helpful. Close to ferry. Construction going on but that tells me they are working to maintain the property.

Only a few minute walk away from the star line ferry terminal. Very convenient:)

Easy access to aboard ferry to Mackinac Island, MI

The property was rundown. None of the amenities listed were available. No breakfast. The pool was empty and were told to go down the road and use the pool at another hotel. The laundry was a complete mess. The machines were disconnected and there was a hole in the roof. Were told that they did not clean the rooms or provide any service unless requested. The remote did not control the tv and when we tried to call the front desk to report the tv remote the phone did not work. Went to the front desk and reported these problems and the showed up with a bag full of remotes and none worked on the tv so she called the cable company and he showed up about a half hour later and got the tv to work. He then disconnected the phone and said he would bring back another one. When we left at the end of a weeks stay the phone still had not been replaced. So if something would have happened and we needed 911 we would have had to use our cell phone and the 911 operator would have not known where the call was coming from. The front desk offered none of the amenities that they had for the casino until we asked then informed that they were out and if we wanted they could call down to another hotel and let them know we were coming to pick them up. When we got home and checked the credit card statement we found that we were charged under a different name than Thunderbird hotel. Such a shame as we were there in 2019 and it was a great place which is why we went back. Can't recommend will not return.

The property is good, I did not have any issue the room or the staff. But it did not had breakfast included as mentioned in reservation. Instead, They provide you with the coupon that says buy 1 get 1.

There was only one ice maker. Coffee would've been nice in the morning. The people at the front desk were very nice and informative. They gave us discount coupons for restaurants. The room was very clean.

They used extension cords through out the room. There were only 2 grounded outlets in the room, both of which were worn, and barely would hold the plug in. The room I ordered was supposed to have a couch in it. And breakfast was included in the listing, but they did not actually have that.
