The pool was murky and gross. I couldn’t see the bottom. It was visibly dirty. The pool was a big reason to stay there and we were disappointed we couldn’t use it.

The hotel offered free shuttle service to the ferry that took us to the Mackinac Island. Walking distance to the Mackinac Bridge and watch the sunset. Great selection of restaurants within a couple of miles. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean and complimentary breakfast had vegan options too!

What a sh--hole! Pool and hot tub are absolutely filthy! Even with the little makeover going on it is cheaply done. Rooms are noisy from neighboring rooms, street traffic. If you want to block some street noise, just turn on the bathroom fan on....it sounds like an old world war 2 chopper about to crash. New vinyl flooring strips when you ener the room are peeling up, toilet is wobbling all over when you use it, the small room safe in on the floor and you have a cabinet that the tv sits on that is designed to hold both, the refrigerator and microwave.....why is the refrigerator in a corner of the room with the microwave on top of it. This hotel reminds me of an old saying. You can put a $2,000 dinner dress on a lady from Afton, but in the end....it is still a lady from Afton. THE WORST EXCUSE of a Holiday Inn that I have ever seen or stayed in. SMH!

Pool, spa & sauna were clean. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Walking to downtown shopping is not possible with children or elderly, but an easy 3 minute car ride with plenty of downtown parking.

Really loved our stay at Holiday Inn. By far one of the cleanest rooms we stayed in. Carpet, furniture was clean. No stale odors in the room. The rooms were large and comfortable. We will definately book here again.

Overall it was an average stay. Did not have time to use the pool or really any facilities. Right after checking in, went to put up the blackout curtains and the entire unit flew off the wall, but maintenance was there within 5 minutes after notifying the front desk and it was fixed within 10 minutes after their arrival. Bed was comfortable, and clean aside from some tears in the bed skirting. Bathroom floor was dirty, had visible blackness on feet after showering. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was amazing, good selection of hot and tasty food and plenty to go around. Parking was semi-difficult as the parking lot surrounding the building is small but there is an overflow lot close by.

Best hotel in the city. The building is immaculate, the rooms are clean and the staff are so friendly. We’ve stayed at so many hotels on our travels over the years and Holiday Inn always tops them! We will be a customer for life. Highly recommend this hotel!

We booked two rooms for two nights. One of our rooms was not cleaned(. There was no room cleaning service for us and I did not put any “do no disturb” sign up. The other room I booked had room service. I called the front desk when I got back at night but it was too late to have a room cleaning service. It was the most ridiculous I encountered about hotel experience. And when I bought this issue to the front desk, the worker there was so rude, let alone giving any compensation for my non-cleaned room. Really frustrated experience for $303 per night room.

The location is wonderful - easy to find. We were there in the off-season so there was not much happening. The hallways looked like they had not been vacuumed in a long time. The renovated bathroom was nice, but the rest of the room looked worn and the couch smelled. Staff was helpful.

The location was great to head to Shepler’s ferry for Mackinac Island. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and a nice selection for breakfast. The only complaint, walls are thin and our room was next to the elevator and stairs. We heard every noise of people coming/going and hallway conversation.

Incredibly noisy room. Heard literally everybody. Was located on the first floor near the lobby though so expected. Quiet hours were not respectful. People in the lobby until at least midnight loudly laughing. Front desk did get me in early and were super friendly.

Nice hotel for the area. The first room we were in was right next to the highway, the trucks made it very noisy. after asking for a different room, it was much better. The hotel is kept up ok but is showing its age. The walls are thin and we heard people walking upstairs a lot. The shining star of this hotel is the staff,they were always friendly and upbeat! We vacation in the area a lot and it’s getting harder to find places that are independent, we will be back, I’m sure.

The location is awesome. Shepler’s ferry and downtown Mackinaw are less than a mile walk from the hotel, and it’s an easy walk. The state park lake shore and fort are a five minute walk. The hotel is clean, breakfast was awesome (eggs, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and other items). Our room was a king with couch, very spacious. The only negative: our room was on the top floor above I75. It was VERY noisy when certain vehicles would drive by on the highway. I wish I could have turned the AC fan on continuously to muffle the noise, but it wouldn’t stay on. Bring something to muffle the highway noise in case your room is on that side. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had confirmation for 2 rooms, upon check in only had 1 room for us. Luckily we were able to book on the spot but the front desk clerk was not at the desk upon arrival had several guests waiting and was rude when he finally got to the desk.

Lobby was full of the hotel staff having a loud and obnoxious staff party. Lots of liquor and shouting during our check-in which some then carried into the pool area afterwards. The pool was rundown and absolutely filthy. Feces in the pool which one staff member pointed out by loudly using expletives to describe it in front of guests including children. Huge disappointment.

I wanted to mention two staff members who really stood out to me: The first one was Rebekah (sp?) who helped me find the washer and dryer for guests. She didn't just point me in the right direction, but walked me there and even told me where to get soap if I needed it. After that, she walked me to the exercise room. The other lady I want to mention was Jessica at the front desk. She was extremely hospitable and helpful.

Great hotel. But there are no nice sidewalks to gey to the main drag. You have to walk under the highway and its pretty isolated so not nice. The other way to get to the bridge there are no sidewalks either the whole way so its not well designed. But the hotel itself is very nice. The room was good, the service was nice, the breakfast was good. Nice families.

We stayed at this hotel overnight waiting for our ferry over to Mackinac Island. Typical Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast, however, was better than most of the HIE I have stayed in the past. More choices and the food was good. Staff were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

While the staff was very friendly, the room did not get cleaned on June 4th. We had to ask the front desk for replacement towels. Also, the food in the breakfast buffet did not look edible since all of the towels from the previous night were wet and in the hamper. The omelets looked to be burnt and so did the biscuits. I don't know how they tasted since they looked so bad my wife and I went elsewhere for breakfast. Also, on the night of June 4th, the people in the room above us were making a lot of noise and although I contacted the front desk twice to complain, little was done about it. Additionally, our room was right up against the interstate, which only made the noise worse. Definitely not worth $199 a night.

The staff was very nice and very helpful, the rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was good it was hot breakfast pancakes sausage or pork sausages eggs it wasn't just a muffin and some coffee even though they had that too. I would stay there again when I'm in that area
