Stayed 1 night

The location is good for shopping and close proximity to the State Park. The room was 9 out of 10 and just needed garbage bags. The lack of them was odd, especially in the bathroom. The gym was small, with only a few pieces of equipment and a treadmill was broken. The hot tub was available, but didn't agitate. The breakfast attendant was hustling, as was the gentleman taking care of the garbage and vacuuming around the hotel. The main reason for my lower review has to do with staffing. Check in time is 3:00 pm and we stopped in at 2:00 pm to see if anything was open a bit early. Alas, no. I saw two other couples turned away for the same reason. When we came back several hours later, no one was at the front desk. They had a sign and a phone set up apologizing for no one being there. Eventually, I did attempt to use the phone to call and no one answered. It took a few for someone to arrive and he was sorry to be away delivering towels. The biggest issue was low staffing--when you know you have clients who are in the area, why not have front desk coverage at prime check-in time? Especially on a busy holiday weekend? I know these are "first world problems." But in this arena, when I can choose to spend my hard earned income on a tiny vacation away anywhere, we all have expectations. And providing staffing for your service industry company should be high on the list...even if it ends up being YOU.

The staff was great and breakfast was good too. Their elevator was out of order the entire time I was there, and my room was on the third floor, so I had to take the stairs.
