The Starlite is what I would call an update of the classic '60s roadside motel with a twist. It feels new and modern but has kept the "old school" charm. The staff was welcoming and super friendly but the big draw is the property. The huge pool is phenomenal - clean, plenty of seating in sun or shade, and great for families or adults. There are a couple of fire pit areas, some playground equipment and some BBQ/picnic areas. Everything was so clean and well maintained. Our room was comfortable with a nice bed/bedding, TV with lots of streaming options, and a beautiful shower that had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The rooms as very, very quiet.

Starlite is a gem. Retro motel with touches of modern. Pool was heated at 82 degrees. The outside sitting area was pretty with numerous fire pits. Has electric charging stations for EV autos. Bus service to town and the brewery. Parking in town is a challenge

This is a well-run, clean location with about 30 units. Management is friendly and maintains the whole place daily. It is no-frills, 'what they provide is advertised and what they provide/do, they do very well.' It is quiet, the beds are comfortable, the place is safe, and it's convenient to the area attractions. Really nice outdoor pool and several firepits and/or covered grilling/eating locations spread around the property. We will stay again!

Great location, beautiful area, nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast could improve. Designated smoking areas would’ve been nice. Our neighbors smoked all day long outside their door, so we had to walk through cigarette smoke on our way in and out, and it came in our room every time we opened the door.

Great hotel. You’ll need to drive to downtown Saugatuck. Lots of fire pits, so bring some marshmallows. You can buy a stack of wood there. Great spot for families. Nice owner.

We loved our stay. Quaint old style motel with a fantastic pool and hot tub. Large comfortable rooms. Great grounds with lots of picnic potential. My only suggestion would be to make the windows of the rooms openable. They are permanently closed, so the only option for circulation is A/C or heat. Fresh air would be lovely. Overall a great stay in a great location.

Our first time visiting. It was an excellent experience! From the check in with the nicest older gentlemen to the wonderful outdoor fire pits, grills, outdoor seating, heated outdoor pool and hot tub! Breakfast was just your basic cereal, oatmeal, pastries and juices (which was fine with us). Had a great vibe and minutes from downtown Saugatuck. We will be back for sure!!

The room was very clean but the smell of bleach was overbearing. Not sure if there is a way to remedy this though The owners are very nice and helpful. Would love to come back in the summer when the weather is more favorable We were in town for a wedding at the Felt Mansion and it was the perfect place to stay

The motel is an older property that’s been fixed up but still bare bones. Ample outdoor space but it needs some work. The rooms are ample sized (but again very basic) and the bedding badly needs upgrading. Breakfast was a disappointing and not for the health conscious. Not such a good value here, I would not stay again.

We have stayed at this property a few times. This new owner has really improved the property. Everything around pool and hot tub kept up and very clean. So nice they provide pool towels. Breakfast is simple but so nice to have. The room so clean and nice. We plan to go back again. Staff so very friendly and helpful!

This is my fourth day at this location. It is consistently great. This time was perfect. The room was very clean. The staff was prompt, kind, courteous, helpful, and very friendly.. The location is perfect. It is well located within minutes of everything that we did during our stay. The temperature in the room was perfect. It was very very quiet. I love the fact that I got to go out and sit around the fire pit, even though I didn’t start a fire. It was so very comfortable.. The price was very affordable. I’m already playing in my next stay at this location.❤️

For what it was, a renovated motel, starlight was great! The bed was firm and comfortable, and the room was clean. It wasn't even 10 minutes to downtown sagatuck (driving), or oval beach. Some rooms (my room, at least) only had a walkin shower, no tub, which was fine.

Super cute, retro motel; very clean. Quiet. Wonderful pool! Only thing I wish was that the wifi worked properly- the wifi was basically non functional the entire 3 days we stayed there, which was frustrating since there also wasn’t much cell coverage.

I really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean well maintained property that has been updated with modern amenities. The separation of the bedroom from the living room area in the 2 room king room was unique. I would absolutely come back and stay here when exploring the area again.

i used to frequent starlite for many years, even before it was renovated to what it is now. A recent experience at the property, leaves me to never stay again or recommend to anyone. Clearly managament watches your every move on property which is creepy itself. but if you accidently break one of the million rules, watch yourself. As in my 18 year old grandson had a nerf footbal in his hand and was rudely approached in the parking lot about it. My daughter, yes broke a rule with chips at the pool,but the menacing way she was approached and spoken to was totally unacceptable in any setting for a stranger. Imagine a grown man standing over a young woman and blocking her in??? And then was asked if she had a room at the hotel. i gladly checked out after and respent my money elsewhere.

We had a great short visit here during our bike trip along Lake Michigan. Arrived early for check in and they invited us to enjoy the pool and hot tub. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Had a great night’s sleep. Owner Walt even made us early morning coffee for our early departure. An updated classic motel with very friendly service.

We were passing through Saugatuck and looking for a convenient place to stay for an evening. The Starlite Resort fit the bill perfectly -- the room was clean, the bed comfortable and parking right outside the door. The grounds are lovely with large trees and multiple comfortable sitting areas. The only drawbacks are that it is not walking distance to the restaurants and shops in Saugatuck and the room, while very clean, was a little worn. Definitely would stay again and a big plus is they are pet friendly!

The only drawbacks are that it is not walking distance to the restaurants and shops in Saugatuck and the room, while very clean, was a little worn. Our first time visiting. It was an excellent experience! From the check in with the nicest older gentlemen to the wonderful outdoor fire pits, grills, outdoor seating, heated outdoor pool and hot tub! Our room was right next to the ice/vending room. Breakfast was just your basic cereal, oatmeal, pastries and juices (which was fine with us). Had a great vibe and minutes from downtown Saugatuck. We will be back for sure!!

Starlite motel was a drive up motel. The motel was very clean. The room size was on the smaller size but the bathroom was spacious. The shower was nice. They offered a breakfast but it was a joke of toast and bagels.

The perfect little retro motel. We had a wonderful weekend at The Starlite. The facility had wonderful accommodations and from check-in to check out the service from the family-owned staff was top notch. The beds were comfortable, parking easy, pool and spa perfect. Nice to have a little continental breakfast to get the day started. We will be back.

This is an older property, but seems to be well maintained. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The area was perfect for everything we wanted to see and do. There is plenty of parking, free continental breakfast, a pool (not open yet for our visit), a fire pit, lawn games and maybe more. We felt safe coming and going, even at night. We would stay again if we get back to Saugatuck.

Very cool place for a quick trip; pool and hot tub were nice plus all the many fire pits and gathering areas with grills would be nice for a longer stay. Our dogs were welcome but the description didn’t mention the surcharge for pets 😕 Continental breakfast was adequate and clean.

The motel is an older property that’s been fixed up but still bare bones. Ample outdoor space but it needs some work. The rooms are ample sized (but again very basic) and the bedding badly needs upgrading. Breakfast was a disappointing and not for the health conscious. Not such a good value here, I would not stay again.

The motel was so clean and fresh. The pool was great! We would stay again! Next time I would bring my own shampoo and conditioner. We only stayed one night so I thought I would get by. No conditioner. Was surprised they had bagels and danishes as well as juice and coffee complimentary in the morning.

We have stayed at this property a few times. This new owner has really improved the property. Everything around pool and hot tub kept up and very clean. So nice they provide pool towels. Breakfast is simple but so nice to have. The room so clean and nice. We plan to go back again. Staff so very friendly and helpful!

On the whole, everything was great! Would give a four and an half star rating. That is because of breakfast. Included breakfast was minimal; if you want eggs, pancakes or yogurt for example. Expect breads, some cereal, instant oatmeal; basically a limited continental. Also coffee and tea choices are spare.

Once again, had a wonderful stay at Starlight resort. The staff is always friendly and attentive. This is the perfect location for visiting Saugatuck and Douglas as well as Fennville, Holland and South Haven. The rooms are very nice, updated and clean.
