Minneapolis Marriott City Center

The property was very clean/nice in appearance and the rooms were comfortable. We were there for an event and it was convenient to restaurants, but we had several issues. The parking ramp is not convenient to the hotel, so definitely bring luggage with wheels for the long walk. They do offer valet but that was very backed up so they asked us to self park. I wish I would've known how long the walk would be. We paid $40 extra per night to access their lounge where there would be non-alcoholic drinks, "hors deurves" and breakfast. The hor deurves were check mix and candy and the coffee and water ran out several times. Breakfast ran out of food and silverware before 8am. As I mentioned there were large events going on so they should've planned for that better. The restaurant provided terrible service by the server. The bartender eventually helped us after we found out the server left without telling us (after serving us for about 2 hours and us waiting on her for 40 minutes each time she came back). The bathrooms were busy (due to the events) nd were constantly out of toilet paper and soap and had overflowing trash cans. Overall it seems like the Marriott staffing was off. Front desk and concierge had plenty of helpful friendly staff. Breakfast/lounge, janitorial and restaurant did not

Rooms and halls were kept clean. All staff were pleasent and professional. Didn't like broken escalator with big conference.

The elevators are terrible!!!! If you have to be somewhere at a certain time you absolutely must add 15 minutes yes 15 minutes MINIMUM. I was told by front desk that pilots were complaining and frustrated. Our dancers stay there every year for state of location and we had to out of necessity this year. We will not do it again.

The front desk ladies weren't very friendly. It was hard to find the Marriott parking ramp. We ended up parking elsewhere.

Parking was very expensive and a total pain in the rear. No overnight meters nearby. Also it was kind of crazy outside the hotel all the time, as it was right by a bus stop. Didn't feel super safe as a woman traveling alone when I had to take my dog out at night. Very friendly staff and very clean, nice rooms. No microwave though which made things difficult.

Our room had a beautiful view and was very clean. We loved the workout facilities. The breakfast buffet was generous and a definite plus when budgeting.

BEWARE if parking in the attached parking garage! The one plastered with all the signs that say “Marriott Parking.” Apparently they aren’t affiliated with the garage. I was told tonight by the manager that their contract ended 4 months ago. I guess that is not enough time for the garage OR the Marriott to take down all of the signs saying “Marriott Parking.” I guess it also isn’t enough time for the Marriott to train their front desk staff on the fact that they should no longer instruct guests to park there anymore since the contract for the affiliation no longer exists. I can’t help but feel like it's a flat out lie. If your affiliation with another business ended FOUR MONTHS ago, then either party would have ensured by now that all signs advertising the affiliation would be taken down. I have been grossly overcharged multiple times during our stay for parking in the attached garage. The Marriott manager wants no part of helping me, accepts no responsibility for me being told to park there, and offered absolutely no assistance in helping me contact the garage or secure a refund for the overcharges. Having stayed at many Marriotts in my travels, I have never received such poor customer service or felt like I was being lied to or brushed off.

The room was very clean. They came in and freshened up the room. It has been a while since we have had that happen at any hotel. Kudos for that.The conforter seemed a tad small for the bed but other tha that we love staying here.

I love staying here. I come to MN every other month for work. This was the first time my room has a bad smell, like old restaurant food. It was like some one ate in the room and never aired it out. The smell was stuck in the pillows and sheets. The room was clean but smelled bad.

Bathroom could use better. Cleaning. Area is not great..but ok

I included valet parking with my reservation here 2 separate times. Both times, I was charged for valet parking. The front desk managers have been very nice to work with but seem a bit inexperienced but they worked hard to resolve. I also had prepaid via orbitz and was charged for the entire amount of the reservation again when checking in with one stay. I was told that someone had the day off so the prepaid didn’t show up on my reservation. I thought I was entering my card for just incidentals. Lastly, I included breakfast with my reservation. Front desk told me that meant breakfast buffet; I took my plate and sat in the bar area. The bar tender literally told me I couldn’t sit there, though others were, because I had the buffet. He said if I sat there, he would have to charge me for breakfast. Then he argued with the front desk employee from across the floor about. When I checked in next time, I confirmed that it is buffet that’s included and guests can sit at any table they want. Also, there is an issue with the way the showers were installed and you will get out of the shower with a giant puddle of water on the floor that you’ll need to use all your towels to soak up. Overall, it’s unorganized but management seems to be trying very hard to make guests happy.

The bath soup ran out after the first night. The hair drying was broken with the wiring exposed.

The hotel seems to be newly renovated, the beds were also very comfortable! You get amazing views of the downtown skyline. Staff were very helpful! 10/10 would recommend.

Tried to downgrade me to a queen bed when I had paid for a king. Room smelled like cigarettes. Had to pay for internet. No reminder about my free breakfast. Had to walk a half mile to get my car when we paid for valet. No extra blankets. Room was so hot and AC would not cool it down. We ended up leaving at 3am because we were so uncomfortable.

We stayed in one of the suites. The view of the city is breathtaking, and the layout of the room is smart and comfortable.

Spacious room, but tiny refrigerator, no microwave. Can't even fit a small leftovers box inside it. Being downtown, even on higher levels it's nonstop sirens all night long.

We were in the 20+ floor with a great view. The 2 double bed room was spacious with a clean bathroom. It was a weekday in June and the temperature was in the mid 50s and even though there were a lot of restaurants within a 20 minute walk, you still had to walk at least 5 minutes to get to one. The valet parking was about $50 per day. The staff was excellent.

My room had sn excellent downtown view from the 25th floor. Don't know if all the rooms are this way but I'll stay here again and try

There was not enough front desk staff…over a three day weekend and at least 10 attempts to stop by and talk to staff there was always at least 6 or more people in line. We booked thru Expedia and despite photos on our specific reservation photo showing a couch in our room there was not one. Reminder that Expedia is not always accurate (which has happened multiple times to me-hotels always just blame Expedia)

Room is great. Easy access to everything. Target Field is super close. The staff was absolutely amazing, totally above and beyond.

We were not able to check in to our room until almost 8pm. The only reason given was there were a lot of turn around of rooms that day. We were not given any comps or upgrades to our stay. Didn’t even offer to take care of the parking cost.

GEORGE - the Doorman - is absolutely FABULOUS. I travel frequently, and George is exemplary not just for his professionalism, but for his compassion and GENUINE goal to make your stay comfortable. We are not 'high end' travelers, but George took care of us just the same. We watched him greet the incoming guests, and the attention to everyone was the same. Prompt greeting, assess the guests needs, figure out how to meet those needs. Best experience in all of my 40 years of travel! Front desk was curt and preoccupied. The property is listed as dog friendly, but, it is not very friendly. A $100 fee is applied - which I do not object to, as our pet is worth that. I wish it had been noticeable that there are no floors on the ground level, and you need to switch elevators 2 times to get to a room. If your dog has never seen or been in an elevator, please consider this before booking a pet friendly room. Front desk staff was c There was only 1 packet of coffee in the room for the wake up coffee - and when I called to see if more could be provided, I was told I could ride the elevator down to the 5th floor and pick some up at the Front Desk. Coffee was also available to purchase in the restaurant. Minimum stocking for coffee should be 1-2 cups per person. The views were fantastic, the location is so convenient to everything in down town. It's the little things that are rather important to the comfort of a stay. Like coffee!

Great hotel. We stayed for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not only were they very nice, but to celebrate us they sent complimentary wine and cookies to our room. They also accommodated our dog last minute, which we were incredibly grateful for.

The staff was phenomenal, going above and beyond. Really loved the night bartenders, especially Stacy Kelly and Krystal. Vance on the late night shift was amaizing. The security and the bellhop on both shifts were so kind and helped us with everything. The gentleman Julius at the front desk monday night around midnight was great and so much fun. Thank you to all the staff, you we're all amazing and made our anniversary 100× better thank you. We give a special thanks to the door greeter that we saw the few days we were there. Also those lounge ladies were on point. Only downside was parking and we already piad for the room and got charged doulble. But the staff was AMAZING Thank you all did to make sure me and my wife's anniversary was awesome. Ps. None of the staff new that it was our anniversary, i could only imagine if they knew.

The staff at this hotel were so helpful, kind, and just all around nice. Parking was intense, but the valet made it so simple and made sure I felt taken care of and answered my questions. Check in was so easy and the person who checked us in was so funny and kind. It was quick and seamless.

My brother and I stayed here for a Twins game. It was easy to get to the hotel from the airport via the light rail. Our room had a view of the ballpark. Not a full view because there’s another hotel in the way, but we could still see the left and right field stands. Easy access to ballpark via skyway. Friendly staff and clean room.

Convenient location with walkable access to dining and sporting events

We booked this last minute. The location was perfect for a quick getaway where we could easily and safely walk to nearby venues.

We usually stay here when we go for a Twins or Vikings game. Its within walking distance of these two places as well as many great restaurants.

Location was excellent! Easy walking.

Good hotel stay overall and convenient for attending Vikings game. Some people commented about unsafe street and complicated checkin but this is a downtown city hotel so nothing was unexpected from our perspective. Loved that we could walk to different areas and the game. Room was clean and comfortable although slightly more simple than some other Marriott’s we stayed in. Overall I’d recommend especially as the price was reasonable

The front desk staff did not greet us, did not use please or thank you, did not smile and was generally unpleasant. Their parking services were not working to get access in and out of the garage so we had to go to the lobby each time. In these cases since we had to pay extra for parking, it would have been appropriate to make it complimentary since it was not working properly and required more work by the paying guest. They also had a room service menu printed in the room and advertised in the elevator but when we tried to place an order they said they were no longer doing room service at all (we made sure we called within the hours listed on the menu).

The property was clean. Valet and bellman were extremely helpful in directing me to the front desk, located on the fifth floor. Had food at the cafe and Starbucks in the lobby, both were quiet good. Room was clean, but there was an odor from the sink when the water was running, not a big deal. Walkable food options and the Twins were only blocks away.

Perfect location downtown. However, very congested with traffic. Chaotic trying to get near hotel entrance. Opted to do valet parking. $55 per night. Was a little pricey, but at least my vehicle was safely parked. Close to Target centre, and US Bank Stadium, easily walkable. Took the metro train, only $2 to go all the way to Mall of America. Best way to travel. Hotel is quite nice. Rooms very clean. Wish there was a continental breakfast included. Breakfast buffet was $18.95 per person. Wifi not free, unless you are a member. Happy with my stay there, even though it was only one night.
