Beautiful hotel in great location! We enjoyed the restaurants in the hotel and the pool. The spa and luxurious accommodations were so relaxing! It was especially great since we did a lot of sightseeing. Many surrounding restaurants and shopping which made it easy to explore Philadelphia on foot when staying there.

Unfortunately this was a very bad experience. The room was nice but didn’t even have water in the the room for a 5 star hotel??? The biggest problem was the air conditioning in the room. We could NOT sleep!!! It was so loud I had to call the manager and they tried to accommodate us by changing rooms but as we check each one they all seemed to have the same issue the old HVAC units were sooo noisy we had to leave and ended up driving back home at 12 midnight through the pouring rain! Absolutely the worst experience!

We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at the Rittenhouse and they made it extremely special for us. We felt like royalty staying there in a really spacious room overlooking the park. I enjoyed the soaking tub. It was spacious enough that we felt we could live there. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to help make our anniversary feel special, which we deeply appreciated. This hotel offers a nice indoor pool as well as fitness center, which we got to use, but if we had had more days we would have used more. I did enjoy a Rolfing massage before leaving this hotel, which was a new experience for me and a great relief. My Massage Therapist 💆‍♀️ was extremely skilled and successful at relieving my pain. The only thing that would keep us from returning to the Rittenhouse is the pungent odors from the park where a lot of people smoke weed openly and other smells coming from the vents underground.

We loved this hotel, my 2 young kids had a great time and so did our dog. There's a room service menu for dogs, a dog park across the street, and the staff were all dog friendly. They even brought a bed and bowls for her and she got some treats. With advanced notice you can get pet sitting and dog walking, however we didn't know that but the receptionist said he could walk her for us. The in room dining was very good. Would for sure stay again

It is yesterday’s best hotel in Philly. It needs remodeling. Not just new paint. The gym is awesome! The pool and steam room great! Rittenhouse Square is lovely. Personnel very attentive

Doormen were great. Easy check-in but no water offered, no upgrade, no welcome amenity, no personal note, no 5* treatment. Room was nice but the lights kept turning off on their own, and one lamp wasn’t even plugged in. Also one of my towels was dirty with a brown stain on it. If you want to be a true 5* hotel, you’ll need to vastly improve your staff’s attention to detail and work harder to make each individual guest feel special and welcome. Also bathroom amenities were not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, and portions were rather stingy. I am very surprised Forbes gave this hotel 5*, and I feel like AAA correctly gave this hotel only 4 Diamonds. It’s a nice hotel, don’t get me wrong, but it is not a true 5* luxury experience, or even close.

This is what a hotel should be like, sets the bar. Meticulously maintained rooms, thoughtful details, warm and genuine staff, excellent location. Scarlett’s was also delicious and they made our occasion special.

Carpet is dirty, smelled, old and in need of upgrades. The hotel should be renovated for the price of the rooms. Get with the program people. Staff was nice and helpful…. Hotel is in great location, but could not believe how dirty and old it was …. Esp in light of the cost! I deserve a refund.

In general, this is a lovely hotel of the old school with excellent service. However, my devices did not like your server - and would not connect for safety reasons. Also, although I had mixed reasons for visiting Philly, this is not a hotel for the business traveler. It took me a while to find even one outlet and I had to rotate devices to keep them charged.

The Rittenhouse was fabulous! Everyone on the staff went out of their way to be friendly and provide top notch service from the moment we pulled up the driveway. We had a room with 2 Queen-size beds that seemed larger than pictured on the websites. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant Lacroix was great and again, the staff was so friendly. The room was clean and decorated more modern/fresher than the photos showed. The photos made the rooms look so yellow but it was more neutral, like a light beige in person. We thought the wallpaper was pretty cool too. The Indoor pool was fun for me and my kids and room service at dinner time arrived pretty quickly. Concierge Chris was awesome and even drove us into Philly in the Hotel Jaguar when we wanted to go sightseeing! We will definitely stay with them again because we were so comfortable staying at the hotel and we didn’t get to see/experience all that Philadelphia had to offer!

Everything about the Rittenhouse is five star. Great staff, beautiful decor, huge room, giant soaker tub, best location in Philly. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. Definitely the best hotel I have been to in Philly.

The hotel is old. The heat/AC system in our suite was so noisy we had to leave it turned off. The layout of the room was old. The mattress wasn’t great. There was no elevator security, like having to scan a hotel key before going upstairs, and no one at the hotel entrance really paid attention to who was coming in, so I didn’t feel safe sometimes. They charged $70/day for overnight parking, a total ripoff. The restaurants are good, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

My room looked like it hadn't had a major refresh in decades and the soundproofing between my room and the hallway and adjacent room was poor.

We stayed at the Rittenhouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary in relaxing luxury. However, the hotel did not deliver. Our stay was "average" and did not offer any of the perks of staying at a 5-star hotel. The concierge was not available the entire stay which meant that the complimentary car service to our dinner outings was not available. Other issues contributing to an average score included: the room not having a remote control for the television, the coffee machine being unplugged with the outlet not easily accessible, broken wine glass was not replaced, and no turndown service. We were expecting much better customer service like a welcome card from the manager, a pastry (or some other welcome gift) in the room when we arrived or when we returned from a day/evening out, or other services that would set the Rittenhouse apart from other hotels with lower star ratings. We did like the location of the hotel. It was convenient to shopping, restaurants, and other amenities. Aside from our dinner reservations, we were able to walk to all of our destinations and enjoy the city.

The people made this visit the absolute best! From the front desk crew Montize, Victoria, and Evan! To Ruben from guest services, and Trinity, Herbert, and Tiffanny at the spa! The hotel is iconic in itself and those that run the concierge Chris, Kai, Joe and Vincent make sure guests are greeted as if they've been truly missed. One of the best choices in this part of town and one I will likely revisit. The only flat side of my trip was breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The wait staff was overwhelmed and it showed in brusque and indifferent service. Even at a greasy spoon, my coffee cup is refilled at some point.

Very nice boutique type hotel in a quiet safe area. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are great. High ceilings and a European flavor make it charming. Staff are friendly. The one downside is that both restaurants are closed on Monday for some reason which is very unusual for a hospitality industry. So I cannot comment on the dining options

We just came back after 10 years. We were not disappointed! We love the brunch at La Croix. Looking forward to Scarpetta on our next visit. Stopped by the bar for a drink and to people watch and enjoyed live music and a lively but nice crowd. Love the LeLabo toiletries. Super comfy bed and pillows. I am A sucker for plush bathrobes and slippers which they offered. Was convenient to have an iron in the room too! We got to stroll Rittenhouse Square Park- which is directly outside. Great shops and restaurants within walking distance makes it a pleasure to stay here. Will be back when we are back in Philadelphia .
