VERY DIFFICULT TO PARK! ALL IN ALL WE ENJOYED OUR STAY VERY MUICH!

The room was very nice although the furniture was a bit old and we had some difficulty with the shower. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast included, parking free and convenient. Nice to have multiple restaurants on site, although i really miss the live music they used to have.

The Chestnut Inn is a historic hotel in an interesting area with quirky shops to explore, great architecture and a variety of restaurants in easy walking distance. We stayed in the Carriage House section of the hotel, which is a different building from the main part of the hotel. Our room had a gas-lit fireplace across from the bed, an enormous television, a clawfoot tub and a shower. The closet had a light that turned on when you opened the door. Inside our closet we found a cozy bathrobe; a large, umbrella and a flashlight. Thoughtful touches! I was less than thrilled with the breakfast offerings because they were all sweet (pastries). I prefer cheese, tomatoes, onions, etc. Be aware that the hotel does not have a dedicated parking area. Rather, the hotel shares a large parking lot with a restaurant, the Chestnut Hill Tap Room, and Market building full of small, interesting, food vendors. The market building was quite busy all day Saturday and the vibe was young, friendly and fun with a big outdoor fire pit and people gathering to enjoy food with friends. The downside is that you may have to park on the street if you arrive during the busiest part of the day. There is one electric car charger in parking lot. It was a "Green Spot" level 1 charger so it took hours for my car to charge fully --- but, since we were going to be eating and sleeping nearby, that was pretty darn convenient! All staff members with whom I spoke were friendly and helpful.

Charming quaint hotel with nice rooms, a great gym (even a Peloton now) and great restaurants next door. I love this little hotel, a remodeled hotel from the 1800s.

Our stay was very relaxing in the historic neighborhood, and the exercise room in the hotel was great for an aerobic & conditioning workout.

We loved this hotel! The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Check-in was pleasant and welcoming. The entire staff is friendly yet professional. Room was clean and bed extremely comfortable with very nice linen. The Chestnut Hill Hotel is a rare gem nestled in a quaint area with restaurants and places of interests within walking distance. We were plesantly surprised with this establishment and our accommodations. We have already recommended it to others and we would definitely choose to stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Perfect spot to stay while visiting some family in the Mt. Airy neighborhood! Easy parking, easy check in & check out, clean, comfortable room, comfy bed. Beautiful bathroom. Didn't care for the breakfast options though I think they're pretty standard and the dining room was beautiful. This will be my go-to spot when visiting this area of Philly from now on!

This hotel is exceptionally clean and I felt very comfortable during my stay. My room was cleaned every day and refreshed with everything necessary for a comfortable extended stay.

Would have liked microwave in the room. Musty odors and ineffective air freshener in our room and some other parts of the building. Great location and pleasant local feel.

Room 401 nicely appointed however, it took 2-3 minutes for hot water to the sink. Tub did not drain well, and the heat kicked in loudly for about five seconds then quieted fien after that. Good dining options and staff was good. Breakfast included was continental, pretty modest selections.

Very comfortable, quiet room. The hotel feels luxurious and intimate. Some of the decor is strange, but it gave us something to talk about! Our room has a strong odor, as if mildew was covered up with air freshener. Complimentary breakfast is convenient, with a good array of food. The choice of music for the dining room was odd—smooth jazz versions of 1950s pop songs played from radio complete with ads—classical music would be more appropriate to the elegant setting. We appreciate having real dishes both for breakfast and in our room—much nicer than disposable!

I had a disappointing night here. I was in a room that was facing a popular neighborhood bar and it was extremely loud - couldn't hold a conversation on the phone or hear the tv. It was miserable. I asked to be moved and was told "well - it will quiet down later, after 10." So - I'm supposed to just go away from the hotel for the next 6 hours and hope the noise settles down? I was also told there were no open rooms, and then later, the hotel guest clerk was walking around my floor with her manager and I heard her say "well, I guess I couldn't have put him back here away from the noise." I should have came out of the room at the point and demanded to be moved. I asked a couple of questions about the neighborhood and received curt replies. When I was back at the room around 10:30 it was still very loud. The crowd was gone but the bar was playing music very loudly. I again went to the desk and asked to be moved and told it wasn't possible because of my room type (honestly!). I told the clerk about the noise issue and she refused to do anything until she came INTO MY ROOM and decided for herself that it was too loud. This was wholly unprofessional and unnecessary and I felt insulted as a guest - did she think I was lying about the noise? I won't publish her name because I don't think that's right, but the management needs to address poor customer service. If you're still reading, if you need peace and quiet, this is NOT the place for you.

We apparently were given one of the last rooms available. It was a very small room that looked out at roof vents. Totally unacceptable room for the price.

I really loved most tbings about this hotel. Cozy atmosphere and fantastic location!!!! The reason for the 4/5 in some areas include because the rooms are incredibly small. The woman at the desk gave me and my boyfriend the smaller room and my solo traveling sister the larger room? That was so odd? Also the complimentary breakfast was certainly doable but when we sat down in the dining room, most of the tables were dirty/used with empty yogurt cups etc and we sat with no silverware for at least 10 minutes while an employee sat at one of the tables sleeping. Kind of a turn off. We should have just gone out. I would stay here again for the awesome location walkable to up and down Germantown Ave.

Stayed here on a trip to drop our son off at college. It was such a relief after driving all day to have parking, polite, professional staff, and a quiet, well appointed room. Plus great restaurant choices just a few feet away. Everyone was super nice.

Centrally located for a trip to Chestnut Hill or Mount Airy. Room was small but updated and comfortable.

Excellent Atmosphere. Very plesent staff. Michell is the best. Room was a bit tight. Between 9-11, no place to eat nearby. But absolutely the neighborhood.

Easy free parking in lot behind the hotel, surrounded by a lovely walkable shopping area with lots of restaurants and retail. Our room was large with soundproof windows, a frig and a safe. The included breakfast provided lots of options, similar to other hotel breakfast offerings. Only minus one star from staff as a couple of employees seemed to be distracted, possibly bored since there was not a full house.

When we went to shower the morning we were checking out (after a one night stay), our shower didn't work. When we told the front desk this when we were checking out, they didn't offer any discount or comping of the room due to the shower situation. They hinted that we might not have understood how to work the shower and then asked us if we wanted another room just to shower before we left. It's such a lovely hotel in other ways (location, room, historic charm) that I was surprised by the customer service on this and our check in encounter with staff. Customer service did not match up to the quality/price of the hotel. Also - be aware - yes, technically, they have parking. But they share the parking lot with a restaurant/brewery and when we checked in on a Friday afternoon/early evening, there was no parking to speak of. When we asked about it, she said: Yes, there's not usually any parking during business hours on Friday and Saturday - which didn't help us as our stay was Friday/Saturday.

The hotel was beautifully renovated a few years ago and it shows. The room was elegant, comfortable, and had all the necessities. What felt lacking was excellent customer service. I went in earlier that day to let the front desk know my elderly relative would be arriving late and was assured all was taken care of. When friends dropped her off that night the staff wouldn't check her in because I hadn't personally given my credit card, even though it was on file. While I understand the policy I wish I had been told that afternoon when I could have taken care of it. Also, an apology for our experience would have been appreciated, even if they were following policy. Later that night I called the hotel to make sure my relative was settled in and I asked to be connected to her room. The concierge said they were in another building and asked me to call back in 10 minutes. Again, not what I would expect in terms of service from a hotel at this price point.

We had an excellent stay at the chestnut hill hotel. Michelle, who worked at the front desk, went above & beyond for us. She was very friendly & inviting. If I am ever in the area again for anything, I will be back to stay at this hotel. I’ve already recommended it to family & friends.

This charming hotel is in the perfect location -- the heart of Chestnut Hill! The convenient location is perfect to walk to nearby shops/restaurants, hop the train to Center City, or to take the bus down Germantown Avenue. The free breakfast and the onsite restaurant is a bonus. And the staff is so kind! The only improvement areas are that the traditional decor could be modernized alittle and they should include breakfast meats at the complimentary breakfast. Overall, a great hotel!

Loved the historic nature of the property and the nearby shopping, dining options. In a walkable area close to the SEPTA line.

Wonderful hotel, comfortable, well kept in the heart of Chestnut Hill. Really enjoyed our stay. BUT- Lousy breakfast. Hard boiled eggs and cereal. For the price they charge, I would like a descent breakfast. I have had better breakfasts at hotels that were 1/2 the price.

I chose this property because it is only ten minutes from the Morris Arboretum and Gardens. The hotel is a gem with a wonderfully unique historical personality. The front staff and cleaning staff were great. They offer bottles of cold water at the front desk on request. The room had comfortable beds, a nice shower, a desk, good TV channels, and a fridge— everything I needed. I loved the Nespresso machine in the room , which came with six coffee capsules and half&half. I did not hear other guests. The free continental breakfast had enough choices that anyone could be satisfied, and included coffee, Chobani yogurt, honey, assorted breads to toast, packets of oatmeal, oranges, and bananas. I plan to come back— a long street of wonderful shops and restaurants is right outside the hotel, plus it is an easy walk to the SEPTA train to center city.
