The hotel was beautiful. The room was spacious and clean. The king size bed very comfortable. The amenities were modern and stylish. They had a decent but expensive bar and the buffet breakfast was good. However, the valet service was horrific. They lost not only my key but multiple guest keys. It took them several HOURS to figure it out. They literally had to go to the garage, find my car, look at the ticket in the car to match it up with the key. By all means stay at the hotel but don't give them your keys or let them park your car.

I loved this property when it came to the room and housekeeping staff who went above and beyond. The restaurant and bar were both fabulous. However, the valet was terrible. I called to retrieve my vehicle (they also told me that they did not have ev chargers) they told me to text the number on the ticket, so I did. Then I went down in the time specified, they said the system was down. It took over 45 minutes at that point for them to get the car. Then no one assisted with the bags. I was late for my appointment....thank goodness not my sons graduation.. I prefer the Marriott or Ritz.

The hotel and hotel staff is excellent. But they really need to work with their valet company that they use. It took me 2 hours to get my car. And I understand that a lot of guests were checking out but 2 hours is a lot. That being said, the hotel manager did comp us the valet charge.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very nice. Our room was spacious and clean. It would have been an excellent experience, however, the valet service is horrendous. We called for our car at 9:53 am. Our car was pulled around at 11:22. That is unacceptable. The amount of people waiting for cars was ridiculous. Everyone waiting over an hour. We almost missed our flight, and would have missed it, but when we checked in the night before, the desk told us to call for our car in plenty of time because valet takes awhile. Awhile???? We thought maybe 20 minutes or so. We never expected an hour and a half. I feel like it would have been longer if we hadn’t of gotten irritated to someone higher up in management. To be fair, they did refund the cost of our overnight parking, but on no planet is waiting an hour and a half for your car to be brought around acceptable.

Hotel emphasizes its "French" ambiance, especially in food; friendly staff, bar/ lobby impressive; problem was valet pkg = $70 a day, and mini-bar in room asked $34 for half bottle wine; $14 for nuts. (are they nuts?) Breakfast pricey but excellent; There's an absurd Urban Experience fee of $28. Parking situation is awful in central Philly. All garages gets about $50-60 for 24 hours. Otherwise great hotel, clean, great food, great staff but Philly not my cuppa tea it seems. Best thing are 2 world class art museums.

Beautiful property, spacious rooms and exceptional staff and service. First class hotel. I would definitely choose this hotel if I were ever in the area again. Only downside of the hotel is that they don’t have a parking garage and you must valet your car. Also, in an area with plenty of shopping that you can walk to.

A sparkling clean hotel with a lively mix of cheery decor/mixed fabrics/textures/artwork. The grand, contemporary lobby features a welcoming public space in which to sit and sip coffee or cocktails. Staff was pleasant and ready to help. Room was spacious, sunny and comfortable. We will return!

The room was very dirty (hairs all over the bathroom, visible dust and dirt around the room). The beds were so lumpy and uncomfortable, neither my partner nor I slept. In addition to being dirty, the bathroom was dated and dingy and had visible signs of water damage and mold. We booked the hotel for 2 nights for a staycation and left after one night because we were so bummed out by the experience. This was not at all a 4 star hotel experience.

I have never stayed at a Sofitel and was looking forward to my stay. I was greeted warmly at reception and the lobby is really nice. The bar looked amazing and I was anticipating my room being the same. Unfortunately, the first room they put me in was really dirty. I thought the glass shelf was a smoky glass until I ran my finger over it and discovered it was all dust. The floor had not been vacuumed and the bathroom tile was dirty. I asked to be moved to a different room. They moved me and the second room was not as dirty but very old and worn. The wallpaper had rips in it, the shower grout was black in some places and the shower did not drain properly. The beds and mattresses are very old and sag in the middle. Very uncomfortable. It was the kind of room where you want to leave your shoes on. I thought the staff was extremely pleasant but whomever owns this hotel really needs to start updating or at least clean the grout and the floors in the bathroom and update the beds. I don't think this hotel should be given more than one or two stars for condition. My room number was 712. Not the hotel staff's rating at all, just mostly on condition of room. I will be going back to Marriot and Hilton before I stay at another Sofitel.

I've stayed here numerous times. I'm a fan of the location and it's a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We had food leftover from dinner, and I was upset to see there is no refrigerator in the room. I went down to the desk to inquire about it and was pleasantly surprised when they said they would send one up to the room. That's good to know for our next stay here.

I liked staying at this hotel but there were a few minor details that kept me from loving it. Our room had a few issues - the shower flow was poor and the shower took a long time to drain. Our pillows were hard or lumpy or a combination of the two. The room was quiet but the blackout curtain was hanging off it's track on one side and let in the light in. We couldn't fix it as it was too high to reach. The best part of the hotel for us was the lobby bar. Nice servers, great tv's for watching sports, plenty of room to hang out, decent food.

Great location to meet our needs near shopping, restaurants etc. Nice walking city. No fridge in the suite. Hallway carpet needs to be updated. Furniture in suite shabby and worn out. Pull out mattress horrible- not comfortable at all. Carpets in room a bit gross-couldn't walk barefoot without it feeling dirty. Nice lobby and hotel bar. Staff attentive. Easy check in and out. Parking on premise is way too expensive $75/day. Many lots nearby within walking distance with better rates if you make a resy

I am generally a really big fan of the Sofitel family of hotels and The Sofitel Rittenhouse is no exception. Great location (it's in the center of everything) and superb service. It is an older hotel, so the rooms are little dated and there is obvious wear and tear on the furniture, but the beds are still the best beds to sleep on in the industry (in my opinion). If you don't mind a little retro charm to your hotel, then this place is great.

The Sofitel is a very nice hotel in a very nice location. Our stay was very good & staff was friendly. The only issue we had was our reservations somehow got messed up. We booked with breakfast included and at check in we showed our reservations and they said they would correct but at checkout in the final invoice they charged us for breakfast. After a long wait at checkout they did correct the invoice according to our booked reservations. The stay was very good just disappointed to need to correct our reservations at check in and again at checkout.

For a hotel rated top in the North East I expected this to be a wonderful stay. First, they didn’t know how to check me in and it took at least 5 attempts to scan my credit card before someone else came over to help. When checking in I asked about the $29 resort credit I was supposed to get through Orbitz and they said it would be automatically added to the room. This never happened, nor did the $20 credit that “the hotel gives everyone” to offset the cost of the city taxes. When I called about being over charged (I even sent screenshots of the booking showing I was to get the resort credit) I was told it would be credited back to my card. I eventually got the $20 refunded that “everyone gets” but they never even acknowledged the orbitz credit despite my confirmation on check in, discussion over the phone and follow up email. Also, Upon arrival in my room the housekeeper just walked right in without knocking or anything. And my fault for not reading the fine print but a “double room” isn’t double queen beds it’s double double beds… my husband barely fit in the bed. Breakfast was good, but way overpriced. $5 for just a plain black coffee is a little much even for Philly. The hotel itself was clean and decorated nicely, but I can not for the life of me understand how this is one of the top rated hotels.

It’s a nice hotel but there are too many conditions on the VIP $22 per day. Also, if you forgo housekeeping, they are supposed to give you a $10 credit to use for food/beverage but then it’s not applied when you check out and we were in a hurry, so I didn’t feel like arguing… so I would recommend getting the written conditions for the food/beverage credit and also just get housekeeping every day. Also, they text you to see if you need anything and then never respond if you actually do… Maybe the management will figure this out one day. It won’t matter to me since I won’t be staying here anymore went in Philly.

Switched hotels from across the street and happy we did. Sofitel was perfect from the welcoming team at the front door valet to the housekeeping!! The front desk was very accommodating and Mateo(front desk) was outstanding!!! I will be back for sure. Except the waitress in the bar on Sunday night seemed to ignore us to spend time with friends in the bar. We waited 20 minutes for at least a hello but was ignored the whole time. No worries I won’t drink there if she’s on duty again when I visit.

The check in process was very easy. The room was very clean and nice. The staff is very friendly and it is a beautiful hotel. I was there for a family/friend gathering. Here are my issues with the place. I was told on check in that I had a $20.00 credit for each room per night for food or drink. My son and I went the first night and had food and drink and charged to our room. Upon checkout, there were no credits. The shower in our room didn't drain properly. My son the second day ordered Coconut Ice cream and got a huge chunk of cream cheese- ugh! Also after ordering a drink called Foreign Exchanged and tasting it, my son asked if the bartender put in all the alcohol and he said it came premixed. Maybe that should be on the menu. This was after he served him the wrong drink. Also the second night the AC didn't work very well in our room. For what I paid and what I expected, not rated highly in my places to come back to.

Location was great, the hotel too. I ate at the hotel and ordered room service one morning. It was mediocre at best. Room service was especially not good. The best thing on the plate was the toast. Pretty sad for a French hotel.

I did not like restaurant service. Had to fill our own coffee several times. We were there 4 days. Also there was coffee setup outside hall/ lobby area for free but when you go into restaurant on first floor for breakfast they charge you $6.00 for a cup of coffee

We ordered room service breakfast and was not given the correct food. The chicken sausage that was purchased was black to the point. It could not be eaten. We ate the next morning downstairs in the breakfast room and twice her loud yelling coming from the kitchen. Apparently there’s a staff member back there who yells at everyone named Miguel. We really love the room that we got. It was a magnificent room. It had an excellent view. The service near the bar was great the front desk staff was OK could’ve been more friendly. The Dormen were great.
