I loved the property. My only beef was I spent weeks selecting a place based on having an outdoor pool. Well they failed to state that it had been shut down for weeks for maintenance. I feel that should have been disclosed. Other than that, it was great.

Nice room. Clean and well maintained. The dog trail is awesome. The pool was out of commission, which was disappointing given daytime temps were in the high 80s. Close to the BRP and the BRP Folk Arts Center. Easy 10 min to downtown.

This is our 8th time staying here in 4 years (camp drop-off/pickup) and the property has gone way downhill. Our biggest selling point used to be the pool and restaurant, but the pool looks to be indefinitely closed and the restaurant has one server/bartender. The staff is very nice.

My biggest complaint was they closed the restaurant on the one night I was there. I called prior to visit to see if I could make a reservation and was told they didn't take reservations.They didn't mention it would be CLOSED for dinner that night!!! One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was for the onsite restaurant because if I chose to have a cocktail I wouldn't have to drive anywhere. The amount of money I paid for one night was ridiculous but I understood because it was peak week for foliage. I will never go back to this hotel unless I am guaranteed that the restaurant is open.

We loved staying at this Holiday Inn. The place looks a little rundown and it could use new carpeting in the hallways. The carpet looks really worn out and a little stingy. We enjoyed our stay at this property. We had a mountain view room and the room did not disappoint with a microwave and tall mini refrigerator. The room was also spacious for two people. The bed/ pillows were comfortable and most importantly, the shower water pressure was great! The side entrance doors (near the parking lot) are locked after 6p, which I found very safe, so not anyone can just come in. The gym, we didn't use, but it had an elliptical, treadmill and a selection of free weights. The outdoor swimming pool is currently being renovated. They didn't have coffee on arrival in the lobby but they had tea/ hot chocolate. The complimentary coffee was fresh in the morning in the lobby. The only irritating thing about the hotel was that the housekeeping knocking frequently before our 11am checkout to see if we had left our room. Both times, I had told her we are not ready and she was sorry for the interruption. The first time, she unlocked herself and was about to walk in when I walked up in time to tell her we were not ready to leave yet. Having said that, we will come and stay again. This hotel had everything we needed for our stay.

I always stay at the east Asheville holiday inn when I come to town. It’s always a good stay. Recommend. My only issues with this stay was the shower ceiling was a little dirty and in the corners there were mildew. The other thing that really gets on my nerves here are the economy climate controls on the thermostat. They are set to motion sensor and will shut off when you are asleep. You can request for the front desk to have this turned off but it is a nuisance. It can get hot quick!

This is my 8th time staying here. I really love the nature walk in back. This time I was disappointed in these things- dining room was closed due to broken freezer so had to order delivery. There is no soap provided for sink. I hate the bottles of body wash substituting for plain soap. Being this back at a minimum. The man checking me in had his earbud in whole time and kept saying what? They should not have this when greeting guests it’s rude and distracting. I also feel it’s looking run down and needs new carpet- hallways stained- and just not as nice as before.

500+ stars. We came in Thursday night, Friday morning all power was gone due to hurricane Helena. This AMAZING staff fed all the guest 3 meals on Friday, with no running water, electricity or cell service. They ran on barely any sleep at all. They fed us all breakfast Saturday morning before we all got evacuated. I cannot sing their praises enough for the hospitality, the comfort they brought us during a terrifying ordeal. This staff needs serious recognition for the way they handled things during this disaster.

Lovely spacious room. Check in was easy and front desk staff were great. Unfortunately, after being gone from 10am till 9pm we returned to our room that was not made up! We informed the front desk person who told us she was the only staff available. She did provide us with fresh towels. Additionally, we were very disappointed with the breakfast. This was NOT due to the staff, who were working extremely hard, but due to not enough staff to maintain the restaurant and provide enough food. The quality and selection of the breakfast was lacking.

Service was hit or miss at the restaurant. We stayed 3 nights and went to the restaurant a few times. Breakfast service was great. Evening service was poor. Food was good though. Also. The ac in our room wasn’t consistent. The first night was fine. The second night we both woke up in a pool of sweat. It was so hot even though the temperature was set at 68. It definitely didn’t feel like 68. Never even spoke to management about it since it was our last night. We just got up and left.

It was a really nice stay, the area and hotel were calm and quiet. There were no issues with our experience at all. Very clean room, staff always helped when needed. We had a great time, we stayed here one night on our way to Hilton head. The bartenders were amazing, and our family ate at the restaurant and said the salads were delicious. The decor is really cute. We thought the breakfast was a bit over priced but good value.

The hotel room and facilities were great. We had dinner at their restaurant and it was very good. The reservation didn’t include breakfast, which they charge $17 per person for a buffet that was halfway empty. I understand we are in a low season, but I felt like it was overcharged. One of the cheese danishes had mold on it. I will recommend everything BUT the breakfast.

Great hotel a bit away from the craziness of Asheville. Easy to get to off of interstate and set back from the road a bit. Very clean hotel. Staff is always very helpful and professional.
