This was a good place for us to stop for the night on the way to Charleston. The lobby did reek of the chlorine because the pool is right there (random, kind of cool, but the smells is not fun). Nevertheless, it was clean and safe.

I really enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn West Asheville. The hotel is in a great location. Only a quick drive to downtown and other attractions. Our room was very clean and fairly modern looking. The morning breakfast buffet was pretty good (extra charge but kids eat free). The pool was a nice touch! It was surrounded by many beautiful plants and was indoor connecting to outdoor pool which was fun for the kids. The stuff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. I was disappointed with the property. I wanted to use the outdoor pool and it was closed for maintenance. The lobby bar was closed. The restaurant/bar had a limited menu and slow service. The hotel wasn't downtown.

The bathroom tile grout was stained & gross and the alarm clock not set by us but went off at 6am. The off switch was not working and could not be unplugged. It went off every 10 minutes. We got up hours before we wanted to and left. We asked to speak to a manager and there was not one on duty. We left our number because we were told a manager would be in soon. We called later in the day just to be told again, no manager on duty. What? Obviously some changes need to made. How is it that no one could address our concerns?

The hotel was not ready for check in at 3. It didn't take long per say, it just wasn't ready. My room had ants in and when I told the attendant at the front desk it seemed not to even register with her as all i got as "ok thanks". I only wish i had gotten a pic of the infestation.

For what it’s worth the staff did what they could (I think) of a bad situation created by the building architects. Our first room had a window connected to the pool atrium which is essentially a giant echo chamber when it’s filled with several dozen screaming kids (which it was). You could hear the yelling inside the bathroom of our room even with the door closed. We asked to be moved, which they did… to ANOTHER room directly connected to the pool atrium. The 3rd room we ended up in wasn’t connected to the pool atrium, but the internet was essentially unusable. Thus, every time we needed to use the internet, we had to go back downstairs to the… wait for it… POOL ATRIUM. Worse things have happened to me as an adult than the above complaints, but keep in mind they still charged us money for it all. Since I assume all Holiday Inns share similar architecture, I’ll definitely make every effort to never stay at one ever again! Staff was lovely though

The air in my room was not working. I called the front desk, and a staff member came to the room and fiddled with it. The air began to work. Around 1 am, I woke up, and the air had stopped working again. I had an early morning, so I didn’t contact the office again. I had to get out early the next morning, but I had a very sleepless night.

Nice room next to the indoor pool and elevator. Not loud after 10, but both were a bit loud up til then. Great service and reasonably priced, hot food. But for some reason none of the three humans in the room slept well. The a/c cycles loudly and didn’t keep a consistent temp. The dog slept beautifully.

Everything was great 👍 although the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like there was construction outside the window. I kept looking out the window to see where the construction was being done until I found out that it was the air conditioner that made this loud noise and sounded like somebody intermittently loading up the truck with cement. So I called down to the front desk and now apologize for my inaccuracy. The kitchen accidentally set off the fire alarm and the fire truck showed up, so we all had to wait outside. Just so you know the fire alarm is extremely loud decibels ,which is necessary and plugged my ears walking down the hallway and stairs to reduce potential auditory damage.

The AC in our room did not work for our entire stay. It was 75 degrees both days and nights, which was too hot for us to sleep. We requested maintenance to work on it, but nothing was done. My husband eventually went out and bought a fan so we could sleep. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet (with free vouchers since our air wasn't working), the bar, and the hot tub.

I like the property. It was beautiful but whoever thought to put a pool inside the hotel and then have rooms right beside it was crazy!! We had a room that had a balcony overlooking the indoor. It was on the second floor so not too far from the pool and trust me, you hear EVERYONE SINLGE PERSON at the pool! We turned our TV up hoping it would drown out the people screaming by the pool and no. It wasn't until after 10 o'clock at night that people stopped screaming. Our last day there we woke up and found a weird centipede bug in the shower but that was the only bug we saw the entire time we were there. The bed was huge and so comfy! Also, if you are traveling with pets, know that it is a $30 fee per night. When I checked in, I was told it was just a $30 fee but later found out it was per night not per stay. Every hotel is different, so I wasn't too concerned with that. Overall, I would stay again but request not to be near the pool.

The staff and child friendly accommodations were excellent! After a long car ride we were tired and ready for our hotel stay. The front desk staffers were very welcoming and helpful. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant; again, the staff was fantastic and the food was great. We’ve always stayed at a nearby hotel when we’re in the Asheville area, but as my husband stated ‘this hotel is a hidden gem!’ Thanks for your wonderful hotel, and friendly staff, we will definitely be returning customers.

The hotel and everything was fine, the issue was I paid for breakfast for my 3 guys and the hotel wouldn't provide the voucher even when presented with the itinerary that listed that I had purchased breakfast for my crew. This wouldn't be a big deal but I spent an extra $70 so they wouldn't have to go out to get breakfast this morning and in the end we're out $70. Thanks

Room layout was nice and very spacious. Nice having the chair and ottoman with the tray table. What I didn't like: Of the 3 front desk staff I dealt with, 1 would get 3 stars and the other 2 would probably get 1 star. They should not even be working in the hospitality industry. They acted as though I was an inconvenience, stupid and a waste of their time to even wait on me. It was really insulting. If I hadn't been so tired and wanted to just get to my room and rest, I might have complained. I felt it wasn't even worth my time as I would never be staying there again. My keycard won't work, even though it never left my hand, was not near anything magnetic, or anything else that should have deactivated it. Had to go to the front desk several times with all my luggage. Also, apparently, the AC was set on a default and could not be adjusted in the room. I got hot during the night and could not sleep.

I booked this room because the hotel had a restaurant and bar. The bartender closed the bar early because she had to “wake up early” for her second job. I don’t think that is professional, a job doesn’t end when you are tired. A job ends when the establishment closes. Very dissapointed. The restaurant also closed early. The front desk receptionist didn’t have any knowledge of when the bar/restaurant was supposed to close. The bartender solely ran it on her own terms.

The parking area ppeared to be safe. A left turn out of the hotel driveway onto the busy road is very difficult due to the dense bushes and curve of the road, creating a blind spot. But , the back entrance is much better.

Had a very good stay here for 3 nights while I explored the area. Only suggestions are to better explain best way to leave the property is from the back and go around to light. (very busy intersection) And that the back entrance takes you to the 2nd floor. Also no signage to find ice. I went on an ice exploration trip and finally found it on the main floor near the front lobby. But truly well situated while I visited several tourist areas.

We decided to upgrade to the suite and it was so worth the few extra dollars! The jacuzzi tub was a welcome sight after a long trip. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the bed was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!
