The outside doors didn't lock. Says it's non smoking, but smelled terribly smokey. Weird guy sleeping in his car with broken windows in the parking lot. People talking and doors closing loud all night. Carpet in room was dirty and sticky. I cancelled my second night and left. I was in town with my sone for an event and felt completely unsafe with the ability for anyone to coming in from the outside.

Room was very clean and was updated. The lobby was clean and the staff was friendly. Plenty of parking and decent location for restaurants. The building and surroundings weren’t great and could use some work. Hallways had an interesting smell and appeared to not have been vacuumed in quite some time. Overall not a bad place, but not sure if I would stay again.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. But the back entrance door was broken and anyone could just walk in. When it was brought to the attention of the staff we were told they knew about. Also the comment was added that at "least the lock on your room door works."

Stayed three nights while visiting friends. the room had holes it the walls that looked like bullet holes. horrible patch work on other holes and cockroaches everywhere. When I reported the cockroaches to the front desk the guy working got an attitude and said no one else has complained. Acted like I was lying about it. not professional at all and only made the mediocre stay that much worse.

Stay was decent. I only needed 1night. the hotel needs to be renovated.its not bad but its not the best. It’s a place to lay your head when in need. MAYBE A MORE DETAILED CLEANING would have made it better. It wasn’t EXTREMELY dirty but it wasn’t the cleanest. It was DECENT. the shower has scratches on the tub, the door was closed but you can see how it is shifting and needs to be redone it’s a gap in the door (but the door is secure) it’s not flush to the framing. (that’s what I was looking for lol). The area to get to the building is a little confusing/difficult.

Lobby didn’t smell good neither did the elevator rooms are really close thin walls the room to the left of me had guest knocking on the door which wasn’t a issue but when they knocked it sounded as if it was my door also you heard every door slam the room wasn’t as advertised and the room light had no cover fixed to it.

The hotel rooms and amenities are simple but suited my needs. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The air-conditioner was noisy. There was shampoo but no conditioner. There is build-up around the crevasses of the light sockets that really needed attention as well as the bathroom corners. I feel there is a design error in having a desk but no electrical outlet near the desk. I did not like that when you check out, a staff member has to check your room before received the REQUIRED $100.00 deposit back. The printed sign at the front desk request the deposit in cash as a preference ( Which eludes to the benefit of the owner rather than the convenience of the guest). It certainly downgrades the experience and makes you wonder what the clientele must be to make such a requirement that other brands do not.

Good visit. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Only issue was the continental breakfast. Seemed like leftovers where used the each day and coffee needs a grade, every time I tried it was very very weak. The night auditor had the fire alarm go off one night and he was calm and very professional knocking on everyone’s door and using clipboard to verify that you left your room. Even kept calm when idiots didn’t listen and came out when they wanted to. Kudos to him.

Inside the property was a ran down, walls and carpets were dirty and there was a very bad smell throughout the building. Outside the building people were standing around and police was patrolling the area. At one point there were police, ambulance and firetrucks in front of the building. Other guest were really load making it hard to sleep.

Pillows were terrible so I recommend bringing your own or buying some for your stay. Property was conveniently located in Matthews. Everything was 5mins away. You’ll want to have breakfast outside of the property for something hot.

The staff was great. The hotel was quite quiet. The breakfast was sufficient. The room had some problems though: The bathroom light/fan did not work and the door did not shut fully. There were cigarette burns of the edge of the tub (in a non smoking room). Otherwise the bathroom was clean. The beds were very clean but the carpeted floor was old and had crackers lying by the head of the bed. There was a large burn mark on the countertop and the night table was delaminating. The refrigerator was very loud! The microwave was clean and worked fine. So a mixed bag. If it weren't for the crackers and burn marks and bathroom issues it would be just fine.
