Hampton Inn & Suites Dayton - Vandalia

The room was clean, but fairly utilitarian and plain. I appreciated the coffee bar and water in the lobby. Apparently there were cookies, but they were never there when I visited the reception desk. I only stayed one night, but noted the 5 days between cleaning in the room sign. Seems excessive for the price.

This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were a good size. It was in a strip with a number of hotels and restaurants, so you could walk to several eating establishments. Free parking. The only downside was that the pool was closed for maintenance. Otherwise, excellent.

When We checked in we were informed that the elevator were down and that we would have to take the stairs. I was on the fourth floor and had to continue to walk up and down the stairs for two days. If I wanted to walk up and down the stairs I would have choose another hotel .

Construction was an issue.

Great location. Many restaurants, stores and shopping in immediate area. Very clean. Coffee in lobby 27/7. Nice choices for breakfast which is included. Our dog travels with us. The pet fee is $50 which is pretty pricey and actually the most we have ever paid. Front desk and staff very friendly.

Some areas of room cleanliness was questionable not enough to waste time and complain. my kids and i had a great time at the hotel. the pool was very warm though very highly chlorinated.

The receptionist at the deck was very helpful and accommodating. We were told, in advance, that there was remodeling going on and provision was made for easy access to the interior of the facilities. When visiting family and friends in the Dayton area we will use Hampton.

Property was great. Main entrance was closed due to construction which made it a little harder to get in and out.

I loved the place and the pool. The only complaint I have is the sink and shower drains were both backed up. I stayed someplace like that before that was full so I couldn’t change rooms. I took and old hanger and stuck it in the shower drain and pulled out enough hair for a wig. Didn’t do that this time. Someone should go snake those drains in 403. Otherwise, great stay and will be back. 👍

Family getaway for christmas. We had to wait for our room to get cleaned but other than that amazing. Everyone was friendly.

The room was very clean. All staff members I encountered from the front desk to in the hallways were very welcoming and nice. The breakfast was good as well. I would definitely stay there again.

The room reeked of carpet cleaner - this dust from the cleaner made air very full of allergens. They need to stop using this cleaner.

This was possibly the best stay I've ever had at this franchise. Clean, friendly staff, updated, beds were perfectly furnished, huge rooms ample storage, fridge, microwave, excellent shower and the generous living area made this a very relaxing stay after a super long drive. Don't hesitate to book this hotel. Lots of eateries close by as well ! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My only complaint was the beds. The were so hard and uncomfortable. I woke up feeling sore. We rented 3 rooms for our family and everyone's complaint was the hard beds. Staff and cleanliness was good!

The trip was good. I dont know who was in the room above me but they walked all night loudly. So i was rest broken. But, the desk clerks were friendly, the kitchen staff were friendly overall it was good.

Hampton Inn has really taken a step back. What was once a positive draw for the hotel franchise, a full hot breakfast with multiple chafing dishes with eggs, bacon or sausage, has been reduced to one chafing dish with sections of hot breakfast items. The mattress in our room seemed old, soft and in need of replacement. The sheets would not stay on the bed. The TV in the room was inconsistent in powering up, and we had to call the front desk (who was great) for help. The staff is very good, helpful, and friendly.

Loved thos place. It was quiet(no kids runn8ng in the halls) and very modern and clean. It looks to be newer or updated. Loved the little nice touches. The whole staff is exemplary and friendly. The negative is the bed was way to hard (i never slept well ) and the slamming of the doors.(which i know wasnt purposely done, they just tend to slam shut) so i didnt sleep well due to that reason also. Enjoyed the refrigerator and microwave.

We stayed here during our weekend at the convention center. Room was comfortable and clean. The rooms are large and great to be able to move around and relax. Had a couch to sit on that pulled out into a bed as well and even it was comfortable. Only issue i had was when i got in the shower i went to use the conditioner and it was empty but i had brought some so no biggie. Staff was very friendly. Will stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Our room was excellent. Breakfast was very good. I had just about given up on staying at any Hilton brand hotel. The previous service I had received in Miami, FL, Denver, Co and Indianapolis, IN my home city was horrible. The staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful with directions, eating places. Kudos to Hampton Inn and Suites -Vandalia!

We live in Indiana and were in Dayton because of the airport. We flew out and into as part of a trip to HHI. After a long, miserable day at the Charlotte airport we decided it was best to stay in Ohio rather than drive home. We checked in a 2am. It was painless and refreshing to see a friendly face. Kayla was very helpful and kind. The room was very comfortable, beautiful, & clean. The next morning we really got to see just how nice this hotel was. The lobby area was inviting and beautiful! The breakfast selection was great! I travel all over Indiana and Ohio for work. This hotel had the best breakfast selections I've seen! Fresh fruit, pastries, smoked sausage with eggs and two types of waffles. There were also almond milk. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate having almond milk as a choice! The breakfast attendant was welcoming and helpful. Whenever we fly from Dayton we will be staying here! The price was affordable and well worth the money. There was one opportunity for improvement that I saw. There were 2 employees in the lobby talking loudly about how they didn't care how another hotel was short staffed. The one commented that she was already punched out and not going to help and the other said something about how she didn't care...she then went in the kitchen area and did something. This type of conversation would be best had away from guest areas. Other than that, everything about this hotel was PERFECT!!

I called and messaged them in the app over 24 hrs in advance to let them know I wouldn’t be making it as there was a death and emergency in my family. I noticed the day after my flight my card was charged. A girl named Amber answered the phone and was extremely rude so I asked for a manger. I got to talk to Roxanne who informed me they were not charging my card and that it was Expedia who charged me, and for me to contact them. I did, and then had them call and ask for her specifically. She then told them, that since I was a “NO SHOW” I would be billed the full amount. Nothing at all what she told me. I called back repeatedly and Amber would not let me talk to Roxanne, so she dumped me into the voicemail of the general manger Daisy. Daisy never once even returned my call. Now I’m a VP of marketing, little did this hotel know that we booked over 1500 rooms last year to their Dayton hotel. After this unbelievable mismanagement and horrific customer service our entire company has voted to never use them again. During a death and horrible situation where my daughter required my immediate attention out of town would I have ever expected to be treated so unprofessionally but let me tell you this hotel deserves all the money they got from me. It showed me how distasteful some companies still operate, and for that I will never be using them again, nor will I ever recommend or say anything positive about them again. They are out for money and have no respect for people period!

Check in staff were very friendly. My room was very clean. I enjoyed the large shower. Only complaint which isn’t tied to the hotel itself. Is the area around the hotel, had a lot of people just wandering around the parking lot at random times throughout the night.

I stay there because there are many shopping and dining options within walking distance.
