Check in left a bad taste in my mouth as we were left waiting while the lady finished up an email, then the phone rang and she handled that before going back to her email, eventually only to be told we were an hour early for check in and our room wasn’t ready. No problem, we were in fact an hour early so we went and explored and returned several hours later. When we opened the door to our room we were hit with an overwhelming smell of body odour and our room had crumbs all over the table and part of the carpet (area around the table). We went back down to reception and were offered another room, our second room was clean and did not smell but the tone from reception was as though we were the problem. The gym was small but clean and had everything one needed for a little cardio and some free weights. The pool was nice, appeared much larger in the pictures but it was sufficient. The hot tub was great until the chemicals hit you, this took about 1minute. They were so strong my eyes were burning and began to water. My wife and daughter had to get out after a few minutes and I wasn’t far behind them. The mall across the street was super convenient and parking is attached to the hotel which was also convenient. If we return to nyc/jersey city we will try another hotel, overall I’d give this place a 3/5 rounding up,

Our family had fun in the pool and hot tub. It was a perfect location, right by the PATH train, making it easy to get into the city. The only negative was the our mattress dipped in the middle, making it a little hard to sleep. Everything else was great.

This hotel was perfect for our family trip. We had 3 teenagers with us and had plenty of room for everyone. The hot tub and pool were clean and were an awesome way to relax at the end of the day. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking was convenient and easy ($30 a night fee). And the location can’t be beat—walkable with lots of close places to eat, plus the PATH is literally right next door. It was super easy for us to hop on a train to go into the city each day. This was a great option for our larger family. Would definitely stay again.

Parking an addition overpriced cost. No coffee or other drinks in lobby. Overpriced for what you get.

Overall the hotel feels a bit run down, things seem worn, mattress seemed old. Don't pay extra for city view, you can barely see Manhattan skyline thru the Jersey City hirises that block the view. The restaurant and bar was never open during my 3 night stay. TV guide showed different/better choices than what was actually offered. Cleanliness and service were great although one elevator had a wet floor and strong fish smell the first day. I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

Overall a good solid stay for NYC visit. Very close to PATH train to go in the city. Spacious room. Very happy with the decision to stay there. Two things that can be improved, there were lack of towels when we were there. Also, the jacuzzi has too much chemical, it kinda burns the eyes a bit when water got in, other guests were feeling the same thing.

Early check in was a huge plus! Pool was nice for kids but could be updated/extra cleaned. Lobby was nice, and basic room was quite big with a decent view. Tons of food options and very convenient in all respects.

Everything was great. The only minor inconvenience was that only one elevator worked and there was no comfortable way to go from the lobby through the stairs, so we had to wait sometimes for 5 minutes to go up/down.

Parking was awful. Had to pay to park. Hotel price was high.

I was told upon check in, the bar/restaurant would be closed due to staff shortage. How does that make sense for a Friday/Saturday stay? The bed was made with just a fitted sheet over the mattress and very uncomfortable in comparison to the Westin.

Our room was dirty. We had crumbs and coins in our sofa bed.

Excellent location right next to the Newport station. Nice staff and decent facilities. The room wasn’t very clean though, hairs in the back of the toilet, dust on the bathroom floor.

Excellent and very clean rooms. Walkable to Path and riverwalk. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel

Really pricey for such a dated hotel and mid tier service. Every time I have stayed there the rooms have not been clean. Hair on the floor in the bathroom, curry sauce on the couch. Strange smells. I wouldn’t recommend. Just do the Westin across the Blvd.

Old and dirty rooms. Time for an upgrade and remodelling of the rooms lobby furniture which is split cracked and also dirty. Perhaps one of the worst Marriott Courtyards I have stayed at Globally.

The room was not cleaned well, especially the bathroom. There were hairs in the bed. We heard rowdy guests in the hallways multiple times throughout the night into the early morning. It's a shame, we've stayed here before and we didn't have issues like this at all.

The Staff was very pleasant and professional. Hotel was very clean.

Clean room, friendly staff, and overall, a nice to stay with family. Probably cheaper than what you would get staying in a similar hotel in Manhattan. Getting into the city is also quite convenient with the PATH train stations literally next door. Make a note of the weekday/weeknight and weekend schedules of the PATH trains. We had one of the "City View" rooms. Not worth paying the extra $$ for it. However, certainly not a deal breaker.

I only regret that the quality of their mattresses, they are too soft and make my back pain.

The walls between rooms are too thin, I could clearly hear noise from the adjacent room both during the day and at night, which made it difficult to rest. Additionally, the bathroom had only one small mirror above the sink, which was quite inconvenient and did not meet basic comfort expectations.

One elevator was broken when we were staying. Great location, room was a little small and AC was loud at night. Otherwise good place for a family stay

Wifi wasn't working

There is no real view of the city at least from my room and I believe the young lady at the front desk said... Only some had a partial view.

The person in the room next door was talking om the phone until 2 am and because there were connected rooms you could hear everything . I had a very tough night during the 1st night but the other

Nice stay. The hotel is super convenient to the PATH trains and Newport is a great little place in Jersey City. The rooms are definitely dated and due for an upgrade.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting NYC. The location was perfect as it was located right next to the Path train into the city. The room was perfect for our family of 5 and it was very clean. The facilities were well maintained and lovely. My only complaint was the lack of guest parking. I had to pay an additional $130 to park my vehicle once I arrived. It would be nice if we have to use the neighbouring parking garage if there was a discounted rate for validating that you stayed at the hotel.

The hotel has a great location, with the PATH station right next to it, making my travels very convenient. The facilities and amenities inside the hotel are also satisfactory. The hotel has a private parking lot, but the fees are quite expensive—perhaps due to its location, which is understandable. However, I didn’t like the attitude of the front desk staff. During check-in, they came across as unwelcoming and unfriendly. I hope this can be improved.

I should not have to be a member of the Marriott Bonvoy club to have helpful service when staying at a Marriott hotel. I was told I could check in an hour earlier than normal because there was a room available. When asked if I was a member and I replied no, the offer to check in was rudely rescinded.

Starbucks restaurant. No breakfast Buffett. Parking was complicated with no explanation. Staff was combative and disrespectful when I asked for help. Lock on room door malfunctioning.

I didn’t even get to stay here as they didn’t observe my emergency accident day of as a valid reason to get a refund with cancellation. I understand policy but if I literally couldn’t walk and was in pain due to a sudden injury, please be reasonable that we are humans and life happens. Will never stay here! I had to pay the full fee of the stay for not showing up which I couldn’t. Manager Rose could’ve made an exception but didn’t. Absolutely ridiculous. I appreciate Expedia customer service trying to help me but at the end of the day, the hotel had the upper hand to make an exception and didn’t. Thanks for not caring about a loyal Expedia member.

Didn't eat there, but the staff was great. So friendly and helpful

Had a problem with balky toilet. Called the desk and was told somebody would be right up. But nobody ever came.

Conveniently located across from shopping mall, close to transit - 15 min ride to Manhattan. Felt very safe.

Convenience at its best! Right next to the Path, a short walk to Newport mall and so many other restaurants. We parked in the garage which is right next door and very easy access from the hotel. We traveled to NYC every day of the 4 days we stayed at the hotel and used the Path. Short walk to the waterfront and beautiful NYC skyline and JC skyline. Couldn’t have asked for better, watched fireworks from both NYC and JC on 4th of July at the waterfront about 5 minute walk from the hotel. My only issue was a particular receptionist who was very curt and did not seem interested to answer any questions when we asked about fireworks or things to do on July 4th. Her answer was check online, I don’t know what’s going on. Then when I spoke about the fireworks, she mentioned to go to Hoboken to see them because we wouldn’t be able to see nothing on the waterfront. We actually went to the path station, the train to Hoboken was in 21 minutes so thought of venturing to the waterfront. Two kind police officers told us to just stay at the waterfront and we would be able to watch the fireworks from both sides. This receptionist also made rather disturbing comments about kids walking in and out the door. She shouldn’t be in the hospitality business. Also, it would be nice for the hotel to serve coffee/ tea in the lobby. There was a pitcher, some days with water and others without! The times there was water, there were no cups! Overall, for convenience I would rate this place highly!

Really enjoyed the property. Everyone friendly and helpful. Hotel breakfast was pricey but good. Nice to be close to the mall, Statue of Liberty and NYC.

Right next to the PATH so convenient for our New York City sightseeing trip. Family of 5.

Clean. Close to walkway with best views of Manhattan skyline. Location is excellent just next to PATH into Manhattan. We stayed in a double queen with sofa bed, family of 5 adults, the room was good enough.

Location was great and parking was convenient. Nice area close to the Hudson river. Easy access to PATH train that gets you in NYC in 10 mins. Alot of food options near by as well. A good shopping mall next to it. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel. Will stay here again. The rooms were okay and the TV could have been bigger, but the location was the best.

Great location as the PATH train is literally 50 feet away. Lots of food options around and close to Hoboken as well. Rooms super clean and nice.

Lovely affordable hotel centrally located besides the PATH station, Newport, offering easy access to Manhattan by public transportation and near Newport Center Mall and the Hudson River with great views of Manhattan. The area was calm and nice. Recommendable for a family vacation with children.

The hotel was clean and coveniently located to a PATH station. This allowed easy access to NYC. The hotel only offered a Starbucks for dining but there were significant dining options in the area.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was nice and quiet accessible to everything that you could need, including the subway. My only complaint is we did not have enough towels or face cloths and I do wish there was at least a light breakfast included. I did find the price high especially when you had to pay for your own parking and it did not provide a breakfast.

Should have ice water in the facility at all times. It’s a small way to appreciate customers. Hours of cafe were not posted. Lobby coffee before cafe opens would be a wondersful gesture. 7 am is a late open for people who are up early. In room coffee was horrible

The hotel is at good location, it’s near a train and ferry terminal good for walking. The only downside was the bar not having different types of flavored alcohol drinks to choose from.

The guest services were very friendly and helpful. The room was a. Ice size but wasn’t cleaned well there was lots of dust on the booths of the chairs and ledges. When staying in a room booked for 3 guests the extra towels and bedding should be ready, not needing to request. The staff everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. The coffee and bar in lobby was closed on Saturdays to early it needs to be open all day. Overall convenient stay but for the price we could stay at the Westin a block down
