The hotel was walkable to a number of restaurants. Check in was a breeze. Only negative for me was the daily parking fee. For the nightly room rate, parking should have been complimentary for hotel guests.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. Access to the PATH train into New York City was close and convenient. Self parking was extra $ but on-site, easy access and safe. Pick up and drop off at the front entrance was within a portico and off the street.

I travel frequently for work and have had good experiences at a Doubletree before. This was my first trip to the Jersey City location. My initial impression of the hotel is that the staff seemed very friendly, though the facility itself was very outdated and shabby. The lobby and elevators smelled bad…like BO and old food. My hotel room was very clean but had a musty odor. I dealt with it the first night but after a rainy day the second day I was disappointed to come back to the room after my work day to a very musty/moldy and damp room. I called the front desk and they sent maintenance. The maintenance employee immediately commented on the strong musty smell and dampness in the room. Even the carpets felt wet. He determined the that the ac/heat unit under the window was the culprit, likely worse due to the rain all day. He let me know that he would let the front desk staff know of the issue, stating he thought they would likely give me another room. Later he returned, very apologetic, that he had talked to the front desk staff and they could not move me due to the hotel being full. At this point I just turned on the heat (in July heat) to try to dry up the room a little bit. This was mildly effective. I was up frequently through the night because the smell was so strong and random people knocking loudly on my door in the early morning hours. I finally just got up and went into the office to get away from this hotel. Will not return.

Floor on the bath tub was peeling off and had stains that appear like blood. Also when taking a shower, every 2 min you lost all water completely and only returned after about 15secs. My room was not done, even though I left the room at 11:30am and to out my DND sign. The front desk told me that once you put a DND sign, they will not do your room, even if you take it off. This had never happened to me in any other hotel

The front desk staff were friendly. The room itself was spacious and had everything it said. The room was not very clean, though. Pull out couch had sheets from previous guest still on it. We called the front desk and were on hold forever so gave up. We went downstairs for clean linens and they gave us just a flat sheet. There were fingerprints and greasy smudges on every single surface, including the chairs. It seemed like a young kid was there before us and that was confirmed when a clothing sticker size 3t got stuck to my foot. Didnt seem like the floor was vacuumed very well. It worked for the night but i wouldnt highly recommend it.

I had a great time. The staff was friendly, the hotel was quiet. Situated near a mall.i actually went to celebrate my birthday solo and enjoyed every minute of it. Stayed in a junior suite, quite comfortable and clean.

almost everything was perfect - the view 1a - the location 1a (5 minutes walk to the PATH, 5 minutes walk to the shopping center, 5 minutes walk to the grocery store (to the WTC it takes about 20 min on weekdays - on weekends about 10 min longer - because the PATH doesn't run that often - the Path app is very recommendable - so you can read the exact times) - quiet 1a - feeling of security 1a - only the beds weren't that great - 5 of us had a suite for 6 people - the pull-out couch was a disaster - the mattress was soft - you could feel the springs - and the two double beds were a maximum of 160cm wide - great for young teenagers in love ;-) - all in all it was an extremely great stay in Jersey City with extremely good connection to NYC - price/performance 1a - we would book it again - 5 person transfer to JFK airport was with uber (if you book it soon enough because the prices change often) for about 85 dollars about 25 dollars toll and fees not very expensive

We stayed at this property years ago, and came back this time because of its convenience to the PATH into NYC. This time we were delighted to find it totally renovated. It’s a beautiful property, and it’s one of the few in the area that offers free parking. We will definitely be back!

Stay in Jersey city when going to New York City. Easy access to the PATH. Hotel was great. Would highly recommend this hotel. Our family on 5 fit comfortably within the junior suite. Great views of city as well!

The hotel was nice and clean, the breakfast that was included in my rate was good. Housekeeper Thelma was lovely and very accommodating. The only thing was the free wifi service, it was terrible and that made very difficult to work. They told me they were updating the system but I believe it is perhaps a trick so you but the paid premium wifi….hopefully it gets sorted. Other than that, very nice stay and service.

I booked a suite for my mom and I for Tuesday August 27th until the 28th . I called the night before to request an earlier check in time because 4pm is late . My mom just got out of surgery so she would need a room to rest earlier . They told me call back in the morning of my reservation. I called and spoked to Tabitha who said we can check in earlier . I said we would be there at 2 coming from the hospital. Once we got there an Asian woman was at the desk and was extremely rude and said check in was at 4. I told her I requested earlier and Tabitha happened to be there and confirmed . Gave us our room but felt very unwelcome. Then I went down and asked for more blankets . An hour had passed and nobody came . I called the front desk and the Asian woman again said we are busy u can come down yourself and get it. I told her I can’t leave my mom alone and I do not work here . I am so disappointed at how this woman is representing the Hilton name. It’s already a stressful enough time for my family and I . We need accommodations not nasty attitudes. I will never spend my money here again!!! 0 stars not hospitable at all! Don’t ever spend your money here !

Perfect location to stay outside NYC. A safe, short walk to the subway if going into the city, but also things to do in Jersey. Close to food and shopping. Room was cozy and clean. Staff was excellent! When my son’s Christmas toy ran out of batteries, one of the workers went on a mission to find us some and deliver them to our room! Made my kid’s day!

My stay @ Double Tree Hilton was just okay. My family and I booked a 2 Queen Bed Suite w/ a City View. After traveling 2+ hours to this location, we were excited to relax in our room. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were given a 1 Queen w/ sofa bed. When I called the front desk, I was told the hotel oversold and this is what they had available. It would’ve been nice to know this in advance. It would’ve been nice to be refunded the difference in the two rooms! Instead I was given a parking pass and comp breakfast, that we didn’t partake in. Aside from that, the hotel was okay. Definitely not at the top of my Hilton list. However, the location is great and so are the city views.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at DoubleTree by Hilton, New Jersey. I prepaid for my reservation through Hotels.com, yet the hotel charged my card AGAIN, resulting in a double charge of more than $900. This was entirely their mistake, but instead of resolving it promptly, I was told I’d have to wait an unbelievable seven days for a refund. This is completely unacceptable and reflects a shocking lack of responsibility and customer care. Mistakes happen, but the refusal to take immediate action to fix the error shows a disregard for guests' time and money. DoubleTree is supposed to stand for quality and professionalism, but this experience was anything but. I will not be staying here again and will think twice about trusting this brand in the future. To anyone considering this hotel: beware of how they handle billing issues.

The $100 they charge you at check in turned in to over $1,000 of unexplained pending charges which I’m still waiting to have come off of my bank account. Nobody at the hotel could explain why they were continuously charging me over $300 each day. This could cause a terrible situation for someone on a budget that has relied on the “on hold” money for their vacation. I would not stay here again and would highly suggest you don’t either.

Great location away from the hustle of NY. Train takes 15 mins to 33rd street or 10 mins to WTC. Safe and very clean environment around the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is good if free but I wouldn’t pay 33usd pp for it.

I enjoyed my stay but I would like for Hilton Hotels to offer at least one free buffet breakfast to their guest or give a senior discount to seniors. I am a senior and seniors do not eat that much. I think $34 is way to much for a breakfast buffet considering what you pay for the high cost to stay at the Hilton. I did not get my points added to my Hilton Honors account because I booked through a third party. I was disappointed in that. I was in Jersey City, NJ on a bereavement.

The front desk was delightful. I wouldn't suggest dining in their restaurant. The wait staff (Kat) is rude and unwelcoming. The silver lining to my experience with the waitstaff was that I discovered some great sushi restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. The room was lovely but the bathtub needs to be refinished, it was in disrepair.

Our stay at DoubleTree was amazing, everything was perfect. The room was clean and the breakfast was spectacular. I want to give a special shoutout to the young lady that works at the front desk named Jessica. She’s so personable, kind, professional, and pleasant. Jessica is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. This company needs to give a manager position because she’s the best.
