Best Western of Lake George

Nice and friendly staff Front desk night staff is exceptional and go far and above. The morning breakfast woman is a GEM ! Parking lot needs repairs, too many potholes.

I liked the 2 pools

My week stay was wondeful.thefree continental breakfast is tops. My granddaughter enjoyed the make it yourself waffles. The indoor pool and hot tub and outdoor pool is clean and the staff is very pleasant.

Near the highway and not far from outlet. Great breakfast Room half renovated but clean Pool was closed for renovations. Dawn at front desk was the best 😁

Great staffs ! Good breakfast! No microwave oven . The amenities says the property has that in request. No elevators But it was okay for us. Adjacent to highway , and 1km from everything of the town as the town is 1.5 sq km in total .

Good and bad about the property. Good: Outdoor Swimming pool, indoor heated swimming pool, good breakfast options. Bad: Phone service never worked. There were huge waiting times just to get the room access card. Also, had to go in every single day to get the card renewed (even though room was booked for 3 days).

We really enjoyed our stay the room was clean morning breakfast was good, coffee not so much, we managed to get ice one day but ice machine was down two out of the three days we were there, if that’s of importance to you, it is close to the outlets, the village and prospect mountain…. The indoor pool dint look too inviting but the outdoor pool looked good. I would stay there again. Non of the mentioned above were deal breakers for me.

Some of the staff at night time was not really helpful however the morning staff was very helpful. I really loved the view from the outdoor pool. I loved that they had both indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool also had a small hot tub. They were both opened from 10am-10pm. The lake is literally less than 5 mins away by car. There are some attraction in walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was okay. As good as any continental breakfast can get. I guess that depends on your palate. Rooms could have been more thoroughly cleaned. I found I couldn’t stop sneezing because there was a lot of areas not dusted. The toilet could’ve also used a good scrubbing. Overall I’d say I’d come back but inspect the room as soon as I arrive and request and thorough cleaning if needed. It was really nice and quiet at least where our room was on the first floor on the left of the building. They have complimentary coffee and tea in the main lobby available at all times. Also, a microwave available in the same area.

Best Western Lake George was a very good experience. It was very clean, the pools were well maintained and the dining area was clean and well stocked with food. When we checked in there was no desk chair and I had an important zoom meeting. Amanda allowed me to go in the dining area to prepare for the meeting and the next day she had a chair brought to the room for me. There was no phone cord so I had to walk to the front desk. The rugs were clean but the hallway rugs are HIDEOUS and need updating. Amando and the rest of the staff were all outstanding, accommodating and friendly.

The indoor pool was closed. We picked this hotel for the rate, location, and having an indoor pool specifically.

Furniture was outdated, the desk chair didn’t fit under the desk making that area crowded. No USB chargers. Bathroom had mold and no fan to dry it out.

OUR STAY WAS HORRIBLE. When we first entered our room, the bed sheets and blankets were stained. On top of this, there were stains in the shower and a used earplug on the ground. There seems to have been little to almost no cleaning done before we came in with bottle caps on the ground as well. While room service was said to come once a day, this was not true. Room service did not come and when we called the front desk they said room service was no longer possible for that day. We were left with barely any amenities left. The front desk said that room service would come the next day at 7 am, and as expected NO ONE SHOWED UP. In fact, in our entire stay room service did not show up even once. Overall, highly DONT recommend. I promise you there are better places nearby and you will regret staying here.

Tub wasnt clean tv wasnt working and the bed had hair on the sheets

Hotel room was infested with ants. Woke up at 4 am and had ants crawling all over me in bed. When I told the agent at the front desk all she could say was I’m sorry. Will never stay at that hotel again.

Outdoor pool was nice. Rooms were clean but smelled damp/ musty. No one came to clean the room even though we were there for 4 nights. Every day we had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels and/ or toilet paper.

Comfortable room and honest breakfast expected for this category of hotel. But what a horrible, high level of humidity... The bed was damp and the pages of our passports even folded up during the night!!!! Quite honestly, it's unacceptable. Don't forget to keep your passports in the safe if you stay there!

The staff waa friendly and helpful. It was close to downtown lake george which was nice. Our room wasnt very clean. The bathroom epsecially. Hairs in the shower and pink mold. And the floor had hairs and dirt. I know the sheets were cleaned but there was a ton of stains and it just looked gross. I know its a best western but the cleaners seem to not be the best. They can at least clean good after other customers.

The bathtub of my room was dirty.

Both beds had hair in the sheets and blankets. After being changed the blankets still had hair in them. The shower had hair and dirt in it.

Front end staff extremely unfriendly. Mold in the shower, stains on the bedding. Hallway smells musty.

The bed was lumpy and sagging. Noise level between rooms was loud. Bathroom sink was cracked. Staff was nice and breakfast was good.

The king mattress in our room # 162 was horrific. It was very soft, so that you sank down in a valley with mountains of lumpy mattress fill on either side of our bodies. Neither my husband or I slept AT ALL. The smoke detector was out of compliance. The bathroom was shabby and bathroom floor appeared dirty. We were up and out of room by 7AM, because we were so uncomfortable. We will NEVER stay at Best Western again.

The room we stayed in you could hear everything. Families with kids making noise in the hall before 7:00 am. Got up and left.

Convenient and very clean. Everything else was sub-par. The eggs at breakfast are not real eggs and the walls are very thin. The bathroom looked like it was maybe updated recently but the vanity was tiny - very small sink and barely any counter space. Also, there’s no fitness center! I never thought to make sure because what hotel doesn’t have one. Just disappointing.

The room was clean and easy to access. I liked the breakfast that came with the room. However, I was kept up until almost one in the morning by noise from the next room.

The location was great, but the walls are VERY thin. You can hear everything around and above you, so our stay was pretty noisy. I know a hotel can't control how noisy their guests are, but this was just not great. Also, our bed was completely broken on one side!

Eloise, the woman who was in charge of breakfast was fabulous! Our room did not have any wifi features. Make sure you bring a cable and phone cord adapter (block or cube). No elevators, just walk up. Overall very nice!

Air conditioner sasnt the best. Loved that there were 2 pools to choose from. Room was on the smaller side, but was maintained well. Convenient to lake george, but still needed to drive to downtown area.

There should be clarity upon checkin as it pertains to maid service for room. Room wasnt cleaned and had to request new towels. Guests using regular towels for pool which caused towel shortage for showers. Room was only cleaned once in 3 days and amenities were not replaced. Information should be shared upon checkin for guests so expectations are set. Should also have separate towels for pool vs. rooms.

Most of the people that worked behind the desk could not be bothered, seemed annoyed and just were not friendly. The towel situation SUCKED - there were NEVER towels by the pool and asking for towels was like pulling teeth. Kind of sucked because location was prime - it was five minutes to the village and 10 min from the outlets, Marthas....

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price The front desk service was terrible. There was no smile or warm welcome when I arrived. I stepped in at 3:40 PM to check in, but the front desk lady was rude and told me check-in starts at 4:00 PM. I asked if the room was ready, and she said yes—but I could only check in at 4:00 PM unless I paid a $50 early check-in fee. There were many senior citizens waiting as well, but she didn’t accommodate them either. At 4:00 PM, I was first in line, yet it still took about 30 minutes to check in. There were at least 20 families in line, and if each took 10 minutes, the total check-in process could easily exceed two hours. When I entered the room, I immediately noticed a foul smell, like rotten eggs. The bathroom was outdated and very small. The TV was old and tiny. The indoor pool was dirty with slimy water, although the outdoor pool was thankfully clean. The only positive part of my stay was the housekeeping lady—she was helpful and always smiling. Unfortunately, I had to deal with the same rude front desk lady again during checkout, and her attitude hadn’t improved. I paid nearly $200 per night, and for that price, I expected much better service. I will not be returning.

The staff was very nice but it took 25 minutes to check in. We also did not receive room service even though we stayed at the hotel for four nights. It seems like the hotel is very understaffed.

The staff was good. We had an issue with not having hot water to take showers in our room/rooms. The hotel was unable to move us to a room/rooms with hot water, so the manager said they would issue a refund for our two rooms. It has been a week with many calls, and the manager is not responding. Not sure how this business is run, but the manager should be looked upon as they are not running an honest representation of Best Western at Lake George!

Cristy and Bree are the best front desk employees,you have,the entire staff where also friendly too.Me and service dog named Taz we went up to Lake George to celebrate our birthdays,I turned 70 years old and Taz turned 7years old and Cristy and staff surprise me with a birthday card and a blueberry muffin with a candle,they all made my birthday very special for me and Taz.

The front desk check in person was very rude. They only provide house keeping every three days . We were only provided two towels for the whole room we had two children with us. When we asked for more they said they ran out. We asked for a crib for our baby multiple times we didn’t get it until 8 pm that night. Over all poor experience compared to what we had before at this property in the past. It was very sad.

When we tried to check in an hour early the room was ready but it was going to be a $50 charge Needless to say we didn’t check in early When we got to our room the smoke detector was chirping and they had no one to check it Finally after an hour we were given a new room The bath towels were terrible

Nice staff especially at breakfast, ( which was good with plenty of choice) had a slight issue with the plumbing but it didn’t affect our stay. It is worth pointing out the lack of housekeeping which isn’t a problem if you’re told at check in, I did feel sorry for the lady on reception as she was running around finding towels and toilet rolls .

Attempted to check in at 1pm rather than 4pm and was told it would cost $50 . A dog was howling/barking at midnight .

Stayed here for one night as part of a longer trip. Conveniently located off the highway and to downtown area of Lake George. They have the usually continental breakfast in the morning.

Cost and location (about a mile out of the main town) was solid. Staff was friendly. Room was as expected except the AC was sporadic…cold to warm to cold in intervals. Still, it was worth the stay and the pool was a great bonus (note, the hotel is at the point of entry to Lake George so the general views are mainly of the cars entering…the pictures on the site and 3rd parties that show just the surrounding mountain views are a little misleading). That said, I gave BW 5 stars because it delivered on its promises and contributed to a genuinely wonderful time at Lake George.

Great location

I stay at the best western in lake george whenever I visit the area for a short visit. It is very conveniently located immediately off interstate exit 21.. My hair salon is a 5 min drive. On my last visit, I decided that I wanted to go "Out on the town".. so i googled area nightspots and decided on a place on canada street. I was walking solo and it was a quick easy walk there. I even saw thursday night fireworks on the way. I walked back to the hotel later.. area felt very safe. My room was clean and comfortable. After I checked out the following am, I was allowed to relax poolside until I was ready to leave. And I LOVE the outdoor pool... my favorite hotel amenity... The staff( at desk) pleasant and efficient..( and checked my room first to ensure that it wasnt otherwise occupied.

This hotel is a little dated but that's what you get in the area. Location was right off the Highway which was great. It was very very clean which was great. I would stay here again for sure.

My wife and I spent one night at this hotel. The claim to have free complimentary breakfast. We went to have breakfast. There was an old white woman working in the breakfast room overlooking the operation. The breakfast is self serve. My wife had 3 pastries sitting on our table to carry to the car since we didn’t want to eat at the moment. The woman came over to us and said to my wife she couldn’t take the pastries with her. Embarrassed us in front of all the other patrons. Made us look like we were stealing. I think the reason she came over to us was because we are black. I’m a business man and paid for a service. If that’s the hotel policy why didn’t they serve the breakfast instead of having the patrons serve themselves. We need an apology. We didn’t come to lake George to steal cheap diabetic pastries. Your entire hotel staff need racial sensitivity training. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to this reason

Free breakfast but it was crowded and not enough food.

It was 9am and there were no eggs left and there was another hour for breakfast. There was not an attendant there to assist.

The room was clean and the heat worked. Some of the stuff looked like it needed to be dusted but everything else was very clean. Breakfast was good even though we got down there late. Plenty of options. We didn’t realize there was an indoor pool with a hot tub and an outdoor pool, so we didn’t bring our bathing suits. Our mistake. I’m sure it’s posted. My husband went and checked the hot tub at the time it would open and he said it was not hot. So I don’t know if that’s normal or not. Something I would ask at check in. Our key cards stopped working the following morning. But they were quick to fix it.

Property was well kept and maintained. Rooms were exactly what we needed. Beds were very firm though with minimal cushion. Breakfast was very limited, with only eggs and sausage prepared. Also no air conditioning in the dining room, which was terrible. However, great choices nearby & ample parking throughout the day.

The rooms are double beds, not queens. Room smelled like must and dampness. Breakfast room was over crowded. Breakfast staff was a trying to be funny but came off rude when I asked for something, and it was on the counter I just didn’t see it. Breakfast staff had a hard time keeping food stocked.

We came to Lake George with a group of friends. The check in doesn't start before 4:00 pm and there was a long waiting line in a lobby with no air-conditioning and 25 people waiting and temperature was in the 90s outside. the same condition for the dining room. The staff were not very friendly during breakfast. I think a hotel at this level must provide a better level of comfort and accomodation.
