Recently renovated property looks great. All doors have combo locks and work great. A complete and tasty continental breakfast (including waffles, yogurt, fruit, and a hard-boiled egg) was available in the light and airy dining area. The PC on the desk in the lobby came in very handy for me to finish some important office paperwork that night.

Absolutely enjoyed our one night stay. Front desk was welcoming and friendly. Room was immaculate. Couldn't ask for more. One minor consideration - the hotel's location set back up a 'sudden' driveway from the highway is a bit difficult to locate.

It’s very hard to see the entrance to the hotel after dark. It took us multiple tries to finally distinguish between the hotel and the restaurant next door.

This is a nice hotel. Two things: they need to up their coffee game. All they have are the pots on warmers and no lids for larger size cups. Also no juice machine… just a small refrigerator to keep glass pitchers cold. Not a whole lot of breakfast choices. No one mans the desk at night so of course no fresh coffee. Nice small gym. No microwave in room but there is a large breakfast room open all the time so you can use the one in there.

This was my 1st time visiting Brandywine River Hotel, really enjoyed my stay. Room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, just wish there was some kind of meat. Exercise room was perfect, just need some direction and some free weights. Overall, really enjoyed my stay 8 out of 10 and definitely will be tell family and friend to go visit

It’s also conveniently located across the road from the Brandywine Museum of Art and several relaxing hiking trails. The staff are friendly and the technology made checking in and out bery easy. The property is on the older side, but everything is works well and the rooms were very clean. It made for a great homebase for our visit with friends in DE and PA.

We’ve stayed here about 4 or 5 times. Appreciate the upgrades/renovations. Two issues—the carpet in Room 100 needs replacing and the shower had a clump of someone’s hair on the back wall, so overlooked by the cleaning staff.

I loved its colonial charm and how it fit in so nicely with the area. The breakfast area is adorable! Management has fresh flowers throughout the first floor and that lends a very welcoming air to the facility. The hotel is so conveniently located! I understand that the hotel is under new management, so I don't want to come down too hard on them, but I wish they had vacuumed the rug in our room better and swept the floor in the bathroom. The shower curtain had some mold on it. But even with these negatives, we had a delightful time!

Perfectly clean, restful, and friendly! I cannot give enough kudos to this unassuming little hotel! Check-in was the easiest I've ever experienced and Troy at the front desk was helpful and charming! Our sheets and pillows were so clean and comfortable that we even slept in! Surroundings are great and decent restaurants nearby. Lots of history and natural beauty.

Our room was lovely and spacious. Some problems were the poor Wi-Fi connections as well as hearing constant noise from the heater and the fan. The breakfast was fine, something for everyone. Cookies in the afternoon were a nice treat! The location is excellent. We would definitely recommend this property and would look to stay when we are back in the area.

The walls were thin in 221 as it was an adjoining room. Really disliked hearing entire conversations from our neighbor. The mattress needs to be replaced it sags in the middle. The breakfast was great! We didn’t like every time we traveled the halls seeing into the rooms being cleaned; at least 3-5 with doors wide open. Signing out at the front desk was strange but it appeared they are short staffed.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was beautful. The pictures on their page didnt do it justice. The bed was delightfully large, the room was clean and perfectly temperatured. I specifically was looking for a room with a spacious whirpool. Although the pictures for the room didnt show it (i hope you update the pictures) i took a chance based on the description of the room. It did not disappoint. The whirpool was very big and clean. Also, something you dont really think about, but the lighting in the bathroom was GORGEOUS. That goes for the entire suite. For my ladies out there, the lighting is spectacular. You will look amazing no matter what part of the suite you are in. I would highly recommend this hotel and suite to anyone, and im grateful i got to experience it. The staff were lovely and someone was always at the front desk. They serve breakfast in a lovely dining room as well. Thank you for a great stay. Your pictures of the place DONT DO IT IUSTICE. I spent an additional hour or so researching hotels and rooms. Had the pictures truly reflected the suite, i would have reserved it immediately. I am glad I did though. Thank you!

Very basic amenities. Rooms were average. King Bed room had the bed elevated at least 3 and a half feet above the floor with a short ladder to access. No coffee in the room. The radiator was making a water running noise all night. Pointed this out to the staff in the morning. Breakfast was very basic. Acceptable but could have been better overall.

The room was clean and very well-appointed. It had everything I needed, including a mini fridge. The smart TV was great! I got to stream some favorite shows. The one odd thing was that AC "unit" (where the vent was) sounded like a babbling brook... to the extent that when I first entered the room, I thought someone had left a sound machine on, set to nature/water! It ended up not bothering me, but someone else might find it disturbing. Overall, I had a wonderful stay for a great price!

While the hotel provided a code for entry, the room number was embedded in the code and not explicily stated. Poor communication for entry details is a problem that needs to be fixed. More importantly, there was no information on when breakfast started. There is no coffee in the rooms and none made in the pantry area. Upon entering the hotel we were met with a beautiful display of fresh flowers. The man, Troy, at the front desk was both friendly and helpful. We were tremendously pleased with our room. We will stay again.

There was no staff at the property when we got there. We had a code to get in and then a code for our room. Without our 32 year old son we might not have succeeded in getting in. The hotel was nice but I was supposed to have ordered a roll away bed and there was no one to help us. This was my bad but if they had staff we could have corrected the problem. During the day they seemed to have the same one staff member doing everything. Breakfast. Minding the front desk. All sorts of things. He wasn't very available for problems as they came in. Overall I liked the hotel but I found the lack off staff disconcerting.

Needing a smartphone and encouraging clickbait or requiring a download to get in the front door is not a good way to welcome guests who may have been on the road for days and out of touch with their electronics. Once we got home we figured out what you meant, that you had e-mailed, texted and called. But that did no good when we were standing at a locked front door. When we were at the front door another couple came up and could not get in either. Chain hotels in the area at comparable cost do not expect their guests to monitor their phones constantly. We know we are not the first guests to react this way.
Needing a smartphone and encouraging clickbait or requiring a download to get in the front door is not a good way to welcome guests who may have been on the road for days and out of touch with their electronics. Once we got home we figured out what you meant, that you had e-mailed, texted and called. But that did no good when we were standing at a locked front door. When we were at the front door another couple came up and could not get in either. Chain hotels in the area at comparable cost do not expect their guests to monitor their phones constantly. We know we are not the first guests to react this way.

We were unable to stay there and had to scramble for another place to stay. I have traveled all 48 states using Hotels.com and have never experienced such poor service. Also, the dates posted are incorrect. Our reservations were for Monday, April 14 through April 16

This was my 1st time visiting Brandywine River Hotel, really enjoyed my stay. Room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, just wish there was some kind of meat. Exercise room was perfect, just need some direction and some free weights. Overall, really enjoyed my stay 8 out of 10 and definitely will be tell family and friend to go visit

Loved the hotel. Lobby is very welcoming as you enter the front door. Room was nice and clean. Bed comfortable. Only complaint would be the noise of the air conditioner. It’s loud and sounds like you are along a beach with waters hitting the dock. Contintenal breakfast presentation was nice and food good. Troy, the evening hotel representative was very hospitable. "Continental breakfast" can mean many things; in this case it included a wide variety of bagels, muffins and pastries as well as a waffle maker, fruit, yogurt, cereal and hard boiled eggs. Love the tech aspect, code on rooms instead of keys, outside door as well. The only downside is that "Breakfast" is advertised...it's really a continental breakfast, the only protein were boiled eggs and yogurt.

Very nice hotel, the problem is in the morning for breakfast there is a delay in staff attentiveness to items running out or things needing to be done. The toaster was broken last time which was causing issues in the sitting area and coffe was out. Just seemed to be short staffed that day, and in the morning there was not enough help for the amount of people staying there.

This is a nice hotel. Two things: they need to up their coffee game. All they have are the pots on warmers and no lids for larger size cups. Also no juice machine… just a small refrigerator to keep glass pitchers cold. Not a whole lot of breakfast choices. No one mans the desk at night so of course no fresh coffee. Nice small gym. No microwave in room but there is a large breakfast room open all the time so you can use the one in there.

The breakfast was pretty bad because of very low quality baked goods-which, unfortunately, is like most hotels in the USA now days. The cheap food & coffee did not match the quality of the rest of the property. It was very comfortable and I'd go back but would plan to have my coffee & breakfast at the coffee shop right in front of the hotel.
