Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh Downtown

Place was in a great location. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is tight, but they do offer valet and there are a couple garages within a block of the hotel you can self park in. Our room was clean, and huge. Would stay again.

First I did hate the parking situation. Eitherway you have to pay 40$ for parking for the night but valet is included so the best thing to do is pull right up front unload and let them park your car for you. Before i knew about parking we googled nearby parking lots and found the only overnight one close by is the parking garage and the parking lot for the hotel but it is two buildings down and across the street so carrying all your luggage can be annoying. The hotel itself is very clean and very nice. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is amazing. Our first room the AC didnt work and staff quickly came upstairs to set it and after some time when we realized it still didnt work they moved us right next door so we didnt have to move our stuff far and there was no hassle in getting the issue resolved. Great location right in the middle for walking to the strip district one direction or the market square in the opposite direction.

Excellent location. Convenient to where we needed to be. Check in process was good, made much better by "night supervisor John" and others behind the desk. Valet was a painful process. Noticed younger valet trying to do peel-outs on Penn Ave with a minivan (thankfully not ours), but it was shocking to witness. Also there is no direction on what to if the valet is full. After circling the building three times, my wife got out of the vehicle to run inside to ask, since NONE of the cars in the valet were attended (empty). Valet was hostile to my wife and very rudely told her that "well, if I have keys I can move the vehicle". After yet another lap of the building I finally turned the vehicle over to valet, but it was tense. Room was good, held the desired temperature pretty consistently. Bed and pillows were awful, as all six of us commented the next morning of that first night how how poorly we all slept. Overall, the room was clean and in good repair, although some additional attention could be given to the shower. We didn't see housekeeping until Day 3 of our stay, which was disappointing. We had to ask for clean towels on Day 2, which they provided. In-hotel dining options were awkward, and a direct connection to the DLL Convention Center was lacking. Checkout was uneventful, but the check out staff wasn't very engaging.

Need to be more clear about parking options

Great area to be close to PNC Park; however, only on street parking (valet parking price is not horrible). The bed was not as comfortable as other Courtyard Marriott's we've stayed at previously. The housekeeping employees were very friendly. They did not explain the "key code" elevator access when checking in. Other than that, good experience.

Convenience to food, parking, and convention center.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff. Only complaint is that there’s no parking. Hotel only offers valet parking at 35.00 a day on top of a very expensive room. Lesson learned and will look into other hotels in the future.

The hotel itself was great, but the main attraction was how convenient it was to everything. We walked to a Pirates game and all the downtown restaurants and museums. It took a while to get our car from the valet when we checked out.

Selected this hotel based on location to be able to walk to events. Took advantage as well of valet parking so when we did need to drive somewhere we were able to do so. The vent for the air conditioning was high on the wall with cold air directly hitting the bed areas. Ice machine was not working on floor of our room. Breakfast was not included in cost.

Staff was fantastic. Got to our room and it had visible water damage and mold. Our family has CIRS and are extremely sensitive. There was also garbage and half of a smoked joint next to the one bed. We ended up in a new room on a different floor that was much cleaner but still could use improvements.

Bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. Long hair all over the walls of the bathtub.

The hotel is nice. Our bathtub had long hair all over the tub and walls. You could tell it was not cleaned. There was also long hair under the blankets on the bottom sheet of one of our beds. It too could not have been changed. Otherwise, service was great. Convenient to the convention center, which was what we were there for.

Dirty room. Trash can was not emptied from previous guest. Sound curly hair (I have straight hair) in bedding. I was only there for one night for a conference right next door. Location is great but hotel was gross.

I was there three nights and never had the room cleaned or serviced, even though I was away from it for long periods. The last night I asked at the desk for some replacement caffeinated coffee, and only two were left at my door. I had to buy morning coffee at the cafe attached to the hotel.

Location and cleanliness were great

We were there for a two-night stay, Friday night and Saturday. By 3 pm Saturday, we still had not received maid service. We brought that to the attention of the hotel staff as we left for the afternoon and evening. When we returned to the hotel at mid-night, the room had not been cleaned. Other than this, our stay was enjoyable.

It was fine, great location…didn’t have hand soap in the room….and towels were dirty.

I like the hotel's location in the Cultural District and in the downtown area. I stayed for 4 nights, and my room was never cleaned

Facility was clean, but needed some maintenance improvements. Construction crews starting at 4am outside property was disruptive to sleep. For 4 consecutive days.

Staff was amazing and the hotel rooms where very spacious and comfortable

Hotel was sufficient, but not impressive. Older property with some worn amenities. - Bathroom fixtures, toilet seats, etc. Also, it seems as through the hallway wasn't heated. There was about a 35 degree difference from the room to the hallways.

Our stay was okay. The bed was not comfortable. My spouse and I both woke up with backaches. The floor was very squeaky.

I didn't sleep well because of the noise from the bar and restaurants in front of the hotel. It sounded like that was happening next door.

If you want to get any sleep at this hotel, especially on a weekend, STAY AWAY! Cars drag racing down Penn all night and drunk crowds shouting as they leave the bars. Little to no soundproofing. Probably better options not on this stretch of Penn.

Broken blackout curtains and room smelled like smoke when we first walked in.

My room was generally run down and in need of updating. There was tape on the door to hold the laminate in place. The tub drained slowly.

If you're early to bed and early to rise, you will not like staying here. Street level noise is intense to say the least.

I had a great stay here. The front desk staff was awesome and everyone I ran into was super polite and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Overall the hotel was fine, though the Manager for the night we check in was totally disrespectful as we requested a change in our room. Her name was Christina. She told us that we checked late, and gave us unreasonable excuses for not agreeing to please our request. First time in my life traveling that someone at a hotel chain in which I am a frequent customer that behaves so poorly.

Valet was very friendly. Staff at check in, not so much. Seemed bothered that they had to check me in.

I love the location of the hotel. It was easy to get to my destinations on foot. The house cleaning can be a little more prompt with service, and it would be great to have more affordable food if a charge is applied. The front desk staff was courteous and kind and very attentive. I will come to this hotel again and suggest many people to stay here. Thank you for your hospitality.

The Courtyard Marriott was convenient. We went to a program at the Convention Center. We were able to walk to the convention center. We went to a restaurant across the street. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone from the Valet people , the front desk and the people at the cafe and the housekeeping staff, were so friendly and helpful. I love meeting people. They were so nice and talked to me. Kindness is everything. Thank you. .

Property was in walking distance to the convention center where our sorority convention. The property was surrounded by a variety of dining options that were within walking distance. Happy I selected this property for our stay.

Centrally located in downtown Pittsburgh.

The Hotel is walkable to PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. So much to do on Penn Avenue. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You can't go up the elevator with out your room key. That is a great safety feature. Staff is excellent as well.

Location by the Convention center is perfect and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!

Disappointed no condiments such as coffee or even water was available in the lobby . Also thought breakfast was included , it wasnt Ove all a nice place to stay .

We had a great stay. The hotel was in walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean and modern. Very happy with the valet parking price considering the downtown location. Highly recommended!

Walking distance to great restaurants and a holiday market.

Close to train station. Very c l ean and comfortable. It was Sunday downtown which limited our options for food. Resturants suggested by personel were closed when we arrived.

ALL associates were notably amiable and measurably inviting and willing to help. I want, especially , to single out George at the entry podium — just exceptionally welcoming and engaging. …do wish bistro opened earlier and had a lunch menu 😊

Great location downtown. Hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean, couldn’t ask for more. The room we had was at the end of the hall privately tucked away on the 7th floor. Bathroom and bedding was clean, and the room had a vaulted ceiling. It needed a small couch of some sort though, the chair in the room was meh. Valet ($40 per day) is a must if you don’t feel like trying to find a spot to park in this busy area. There’s a parking garage 2 blocks away as well. We had dinner at The Standard that is attached to the hotel and the food was decent and our server was very friendly. Will definitely stay here again when in the area, it’s a beautiful old building outside and it was right next to the convention center for the auto show.

Pittsburgh is filled with a large contingent of homeless people. It is very unsafe to wander more than a block or two from the hotel. As for the hotel, nice staff and rooms. However, I requested every day room cleaning service but had my room attended only once during a five day stay. This hotel also does not provide complimentary breakfast and has no restaurant at all. Thus, to eat, you have to venture out. The immediate block of the hotel is okay. But I wouldn't recommend going beyond one block away.

EVERYONE here has exceptional people skills. Top notch folks. The guy at the checkout desk lent me his personal phone charged because my phone was nearly dead and my phone charger was is our truck The food and service at the restaurant connected to the hotel was excellent as well. So enjoyed our stay here. My husband attended a conference at the convention center which was just a half block walk away. I would highly recommend staying here.
