Omni William Penn Hotel

The hotel is in a prime location for exploring downtown Pittsburgh with multiple restaurants and bars around and it’s near the waterfront. The speakeasy is really nice and I enjoyed having drinks and dinner at Palm Court. Highly recommend this hotel. I will be staying here everytime I visit.

Lobby is gorgeous and bed is comfortable. Public parking garage is right across the road from the front entrance. Room is somewhat dark and bathroom is a little old.

Very comfortable bed. Well equipped fitness room. Beautiful lobby. Great location in a walkable city.

Valet can take a long time so plan ahead for delays. Concierge service (we requested a toothbrush) is also slow, and may need a coupe of reminders for in room delivery. Location is excellent! Food and dining options in the area are numerous!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I loved the live music in the lobby. I like how the bathrooms included full sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Breakfast at The Terrace was pricy but delicious. Expedia is wrong. The breakfast buffet is $27 per person, not $23. Parking was rough. There’s a parking garage that’s $20 per weekday and $8 per weekend day. Finding a spot in the parking garage was competitive to say the least. I don’t think it belongs to just the hotel. Overall our stay was a very pleasant experience.

Have stayed here before. Love the property but the valet was extremely slow and it was not crowded and the Speakeasy and Pub both closed early after saying they would be open until the posted time so we had to go elsewhere. Disappointed

Traffic at valet was nuts. Parking was good, pricey but ok. Lobby was awesome, room had a view and was just right not big not spacious but enough for our 1 night stay

The property is nice - the only thing I would say is, if you’re looking for a pool and free continental breakfast they do not offer it. Other than that the hotel is really nice and is surround by lots of food and coffee shops.

The first thing I saw on arrival in the bathroom was 2 curly black hairs in the sink and green toothpaste. I do not have black hair and do not use green toothpaste. If i did not have tickets to McCartney I would have left. Hotel was in no way prepared for volume of people there. Main restaurant closed. Lobby bar packed but serving food. Back bar/pub had someone standing at the door saying if you do get to sit down you are looking at an hour wait for food at least. Lost my car at checkout. Ticket matched but not my auto. Valet guy was arrogant… shall I go on? NO ROOM SERVICE

the carpet in the 7th floor hall was noticeably dirty and worn. The wallpaper in the 7th floor hallway had handprints from installation glue which were never cleaned off.

Hallways smelled very musky. Rooms Need to be updated. Staff wasn’t very helpful when I asked about nearest CVS or Target. Had to get information from valet guys outside who were extremely helpful.

Hotel needs maintenance and cleaning. Tenth floor carpeting was very noticeable dirty and needed a good cleaning. Our room the smoke was beeping, the tub drain was very slow and backed up when drawing, and light bulbs were out in bathroom and grille in bathroom was coated with dust and dirt. Obviously, maintenance and cleaning is lacking.

Considering the age of the hotel everything was very well maintained. The lobbies were beautifully adorned with chandeliers and marble. The room was large, clean and comfortable.

Property is dated, carpet on the floors needs replaced or at least vacuumed. Room cleaning doesn't vacuum rooms after you check out. Bathrooms need updated also.

The stay started off fine until we saw a rodent in the hall. This was reported but the next day a mouse was running through my room. Although we moved rooms , there was no sense of urgency from the front desk personnel as I was standing in my pajamas frightened of the sanitation practice . I will never stay there again .

Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was updated and in good repair but still had that classic feel that you’re looking for in a hotel like the Omni William Penn. It was exceptionally clean and more spacious than we anticipated. Everyone we interacted with was courteous. We especially enjoyed the brunch buffet at The Terrace Room restaurant in the lobby.

I’ve stayed just for one night in my way to Ohio. I needed a pet-friendly hotel and this beautiful, historic property caught my eye. I’ve stayed at the Kimpton next door with 2 previous occasions , but this time I said to switch it up a bit. The lobby and the restaurant are amazing. However, my room was extremely small and definitely in need of a facelift . Based on my previous experiences at various hotels, I noticed that they give the absolute worst rooms to people with pets. It’s fine( I guess) from the hotel point of view but I hope they don’t imagine these customers will come back there again. I had breakfast and dinner at this hotel. The food was delicious and the staff very accommodating ( shout out to Darcee) . In the evening when I was having dinner near the lobby bar, unfortunately I saw a mouse running under some armchairs in the lobby!! It’s an old hotel, yes, we know, but stil, they need to do better. The valet was very nice and efficient.

The hotel is beautiful, but I was there for three days to take the bar exam and my room was never serviced. I looked forward to returning to a clean room to decompress only to find it hadn’t been touched, which was disappointing.

Nice place. Good location. The staff however was not helpful. I was there for three days and never got WiFi to work. They kept passing me off to tech support and hanging up on me when calling down to the front desk. I was busy and needed internet. Didn’t have time wait on hold. I had to leave and go to a coffee shop just to be able to do my work. Not ok for a place this expensive.

Awesome water pressure, and plenty of hot water. We were able to make the room as cold as we wanted, something often restricted by other hotels.

Access to our room was delayed 1.5 hours after checking in due to cleaning. Although rated a 4 star hotel, it is old with sparse amenities, notably the ridiculously small bathroom

Building is nice, but the rooms are dated.

The hotel is beautiful and clean and the staff is great. It feels luxurious. Our room was small but the closet was a walk in. Sleeping was comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets at the bedside tables. I wish the fridge wasn't quite so mini, and I wish a microwave came with the room.

Rooms were nice, fan in bathroom extremely loud and the A/C didn't really work. But all in all, rooms were nice.

Lovely property. Couldn't be more pleased with the physical aspects and with the staff. The only thing keeping me from a 5-star review are the Wi-Fi options. You are given two options for paid Wi-Fi, but with the promise of free internet access if you join their membership rewards program (which I did do, though the process is a bit more involved than most). However, even after joining, I could find no way to access the "free" Wi-Fi option for members. So many travelers need/use Wi-Fi. It would be nice to have an effective option for functional internet access, without having to pay an additional fee. Otherwise, though, we loved the Omni William Penn.

Very cool old hotel. The property was beautiful, clean, large room, and the service was exceptional. The AC in our room didn't blow as cold as I like, but it wasn't uncomfortable, and we slept well.

Excellent location. Accommodation is ok. But the staff service leaves something to be desired. They are rude.

Front desk staff was very rude when we checked in, and barely took 30 seconds to explain how to get to our room. They didn’t bother to tell us any of the hotel amenities either. The bathroom in our room was tiny and not very clean. The overhead light flickered the entire time we were there, and overall it was just not the room we expected, especially after paying so much for it. The hotel’s redeeming quality was the Speakeasy, which had amazing cocktails and a wonderful ambiance.

We had a tough check-in process. - the valet was terribly rude. Didn’t help control parking, didn’t help with bags or directions entering hotel from street and then said “if you have everything of yours, don’t you have something for me?” Asking for a tip. - made our way to the front desk and checking in was awful. Didn’t have the room we reserved (a suite), lied to us and said they upgraded us since it wasn’t available, and put us in a room adjourning a suite with only one bed (we needed 2), went back to lobby, got another room, hauled bags up to that floor, opened door and it was already occupied, back down to lobby for third try and finally got a room with two beds. Wasn’t handled well at all, didn’t offer to refund the difference between what I reserved and what we were given (Hotels.com called and resolved that for me). They did offer a credit that essentially made the valet free. Complete cluster though and set a terrible tone to spend the first hour lugging suitcases around to 3 different rooms. - tap room is wayyyyy past “quaint”. They haven’t invested anything into that place since I worked downtown Pittsburgh 20 years ago. Needs a refresh. Basically, this place is a beautiful lobby and a mediocre hotel behind it with a serious need for enhanced service training from valet to front desk.

Each staff member was very responsive and caring. Asked if I needed help with anything or directions. They even offered to find my glasses I left in the car that was valet parked. Would definitely recommend.

I arrived in the afternoon on Friday and checked in my spouse and I and my daughter who was staying in the hotel for her wedding so everything would be in order for both thier late arrivals. Our room was not what we booked and that was handled quickly by staff on at that time, however the room I was given keys to for my daughter (I was paying for both rooms) was my mother in laws room. So when my daughter arrived after midnight from Philly thier "room" was occupied and thier keys did not work trapping my daughter in the basement w her wedding dress and all the luggage for the wedding. I was called down to the desk at almost 1am to resolve the situation and pay for her room which I thought I had already done! I spoke with manager Joel the next day and he apologized and said he would send something special to their correct room for the trouble. This did not occur. We also had a incident on Sat at the lobby bar around 4pm where the bartender refused to serve us because she had to be somewhere at 430 so she sent us to the other bar down the hall, where they were great. But I wonder was this a staffing issue as it was during posted operating hours. It was in poor taste on a busy weekend. I really wanted to love everything on such a special weekend for my family but felt the hotel came up short for the cost and level of service expected.

Fast check in and friendly service

First let me start with valet services- one morning we called for the car and finally 45 min later we went to the desk and they claimed never to get a call. So next door dash- over $70 in door dash and it was stolen by an identified guest who was also unruly. Security identified her and told us not to worry about it and tell door dash it was stolen and we should get our money back. We then had another incident with the same guest as she ran barefoot and crazy through the lobby being disrespectful and we reported it and yet again nothing was done. This went on for 3 DAYS. Upon checkin the hotel kept swiping my daughter’s card for a security deposit and claimed it wasnt going through. So we gave another card which was swiped multiple times. Then we get a fraud text from the bank showing several hundred dollars withdrawn !!!!! In transactions from the hotel and come to find out it was going through every time she swiped, on BOTH CARDS! My husband then went to the bar one night for a burger and a drink. Over 1 hour later his food was finally brought out and his whiskey looked like water. The waitress advised they were running out of my husband’s preferred whiskey so they were watering it down, I mean SERIOUSLY?!? Honestly this was one of the worst hotel experiences we had. Will definitely NEVER go back. The only nice thing was how they were decorated for the Christmas season.

Bad service I have been charge almost $560 extra and double charged for the parking at $45 per day for 4 days parking, I have called and disconnected with 3 different staff pretending they the management but they have no clue, they keep refusing to correct and refund the extra charges.

Great location first of all. Not far from the Pointe. The Market. And walking distance to PNC Park. And the on off bus that takes you around. And a tour guide tells you about different buildings attractions ect. Stops right at the hotel. AWESOME LOBBY. My room was clean. The staff all were friendly. From the people that take care of the room to wait staff ect. All say Hi with a smile. If I can say one negative thing. But no biggie. Every hotel is different. I just wish breakfast was free. But the breakfast was good. Just like the free breakfast when you are already spending a lot of money around the town on vacation.

Amazing stay from beginning to finish. The location was perfect for attending the ballgame! An easy walk over the bridge to the stadium was perfect! Beautiful building and super clean rooms :) Friendly staff!

The Omni William Penn is a grand old hotel in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. It's convenient to everything, including PNC Park. Beautiful property!

Great Christmas stay. The main lonby was decorsted and really took you back in time. Easy walk to penguins game and the Christmas market at ppg place.

Great hotel----around the surroundings---a little sketchy; no fault of the hotels, however--just downtown maggots in Pitt.

The hotel is fantastic. Beautiful and welcoming lobby with an excellent coffee shop, elegant restaurant, and cool speakeasy. Great location. No more than 15 minutes to PNC Park and The Andy Warhol Museum. Plenty of good restaurants within a 15-minute walk as well. Very easy to walk the city. Overnight parking was very affordable.

Wonderful hotel. Close to everything. Went to the Tap Room a few times and Ron was wonderful from remembering our order each time and also giving us tips about navigating the city. The Terrance Room for breakfast was the only negative aspect of our stay at the hotel. The service was very slow and felt like if we asked for anything, it was a chore for them to get it.

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful, but the staff at the Speakeasy and the Taproom were very rude and unprofessional!

The experience is easy and beautiful from the beginning, parking, checking in, baggage, and service. The room was clean and beautiful, great climate control, fluffy towels and the best fleece-lined robes are available in the room. The two beds offered both a more firm mattress and one had a softer experience which I love personally. The pillows too, many options of firm or soft. The staff was all super friendly and wonderful including the in-room service staff. My only wish is that the in-room dining - breakfast menu offered the same options as the dining room off the main lobby, however eating there in person was an incredible experience - one you shouldn’t miss. The cafe had fantastic cappuccino and lattes, options for kids, and fresh croissants and pastries. The grand lobby is a wonderful place to sip your coffee or tea in the morning. Would recommend the stay to anyone, will certainly book again!

The staff are amazing and the breakfast and brunch in the terrace room are amazing If in Pittsburgh stay here.

The management of the food options was poor. We didnt know when which restaurants were open, offering what food choices and the tv and signage was not current. Nothing in the room to help. The facility was beautiful!

Property was great love the old hotel feeling. It was convenient to everything we wanted do. Enjoyed the SpeakEasy as well. The only complaint is on Saturday night at 9:30 the Speakeasy was ALL OUT OF their LIGHT FARE FOOD. They are only open 3 nights a week this should never Happen.
