Great staying at the NLI. Very elegant and retains the PSU heritage. Great workout facilities. Will be back again. One minor...in the shower, there was "hand soap" and not body wash and no soap at the sink. When we stepped out, we told the front desk and when we returned, there was hand soap and a couple bars of soap, but the hand soap was still in the shower. Not a big deal. A little attention to detail slip.

The only negative is parking. There is only valet $25/ night which you can go in and out unlimited, but its slow and sometimes the valet is not readily available or garage parking that is $12, but not sure if there is a charge for in and out. The property is beautiful, excellent staff, easy check in and great location. Our room was spacious with a great bathroom and a comfortable bed. Lovely garden atrium, abundant quiet & gathering spaces. The restaurants were good but limited menus. If weather permits and you are able, you can walk to places because it is on the west part campus but atleast a 13min walk to restaurants.

It was a very beautiful hotel. It had the old world charm that was noticeable as soon as you arrived. The grounds were beautiful. The staff was outstanding. They were always friendly and willing to help. The room was large and very nicely decorated and had plenty of storage. The bathroom had an extra large shower and very nice soap products. There was a parking garage around the corner from the front entrance. The hotel is within walking distance to town. We had a very nice stay.

Hotel is very nice Just be leery they only offer valet parking very expensive unless you wanna park in the public parking garage. I have no problem with the cost of parking as long as it’s upfront But you don’t realize that until you get there and it’s a little walk to the public parking garage beware

Great place to stay if you are visiting Penn State Campus. Renovations are tasteful. And the lobby area is nice and cozy with nooks for sitting and conversing. Found nooks also on the inn's floors above. It is a bit of a maze to find rooms. Also liked the infused waters and apples in the lobby. Cautions: heating systems are noisy! Buzzing sound heard all the time and when the heat kicked on it was loud enough to wake you up. bathroom light never shuts off (or instructions are needed to shut it off?) Brand used for shampoo, conditioner etc was not to my liking - too polarizing in scent. However was pleasantly surprised that they included handwashing liquid soap and a shower cap! Parking - there is valet parking - and self parking options. Self parking is at the nittany lion deck of PSU - charge added to room - given one one time voucher to scan - small discount off what PSU would charge you overnight.

The renovated common areas were impressive. Our suite however was not properly cleaned. Lots of lint on the floor and what looked like a small pile of sawdust. Also the room needed more furniture and better attention to detail. Lots of wasted space. Sconces should be hardwired, not plugged into an outlet below with wire showing. The tv stand/chest of drawers didn’t cover the wires for the phone. It wasn’t centered in front of the couch. I hope they got a discount on the electrical work. For $400 a night I expected more.

I stayed at The Nittany Lion Inn years ago for a PennTAP conference prior to COVID , and returned this past weekend with my wife. It was just as charming as I remembered, but I noticed a few concerns this time around—perhaps because I work in Facility Management. The staff was friendly, but there were communication issues. When we arrived on our motorcycle, the valet said we couldn’t park in the lot and had to use the garage. I emailed the Inn and was told the opposite—that motorcycles aren't allowed in the garage and we should park in the lot for $12. When we returned to check in, a different valet said it was $25. Even after showing the email, he insisted on the higher rate. It was frustrating and confusing. The room was beautiful, but the upkeep missed the mark. The HVAC return and bathroom vent were dusty, furniture and lights needed attention, and there was popcorn on the floor near the trash can. The toilet seat was broken, and the ice bucket was wet and smelled of beer. It’s disappointing to see such a lovely, historic place lose some of its shine. With better staff training and clearer internal communication, these issues could be easily fixed. I still love this Inn and hope to return for a better experience next time.

Definitely better since the renovations. There were two issues that made it a tough stay - 1. the extremely loud AC unit that went from freezing to extremely hot with a one degree change and 2. The horrific lumpy pillows that made it impossible to sleep. Other than those issues, the hotel was very nice. I would stay there again and just bring my own pillow in case they haven’t replaced them.

The property is beautifully decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. I was there during a heat wave and unfortunately the room was not cool despite setting the AC very low and maintenance checking that it was set properly. I would stay there again but not in the summer.

Room was clean and staff were helpful—also great that I can take a beer or wine from the pub to my room for quiet. Parking cheap & convenient. Unfortunately uncomfortable room: Very noisy heating/cooling —fan was like a jet engine. Not possible to control room temperature so I was sweating one night and cold the next. Tiny window on the third floor. Instead of an iron you get a steamer which was useless. Something that should have taken me 5 mins to de-wrinkle ended up taking almost 30 mins— and the shirt was still creased all over.

The hotel was beautifully renovated and in a good location. 1.7 miles from Beaver stadium. It was a great option for the IM 70.3. Staff were accommodating with all of our gear. The air conditioning unit beside one of the beds was annoying. That is my only complaint. I would stay there again.

Recently renovated! Beautiful hotel. Some difficulty locating the 1855 lounge, bc unfortunately the front desk staff was unaware of another bar—- but we found it and it was awesome! Great bartenders! It was a VERY slow check in process when we arrived. Only one person working front desk. Multiple issues with people before us lead to 20+ min wait to check in to our room. Unexpected. Luckily the sweet lady infront of us let us go before her bc we had an event we needed to get to. Other than that- we loved it there!

I can’t say enough good things about The Nittany Lion Inn. They went above and beyond to accommodate us by offering an early check-in when we had to be there for my daughter’s surgery. Got settled in bed and the tv wouldn’t work. Tried twice to call front desk. No answer. Had to get dressed and go to front desk. Then had to move all my stuff. The new room had sticky glass rings on the tables. The discount parking coupon they gave me didn’t work

The Nittany Lion in is absolutely charming! I was visiting for the arts festival and enjoyed my stay very much. We dined on the patio at Lionne, had morning coffee in Dear Joe’s, and cocktails and snacks in Tripletts. Loved all of it! I want to come back in the fall to enjoy cocktails by the fire on Tripletts patio and in the 1855 lounge. Can’t wait for fall!

Located right next to Penn State, this gem of a property has everything you need. It’s quaint, cozy, and clean with three wonderful dining options - a very nice restaurant, bar/bistro, and breakfast cafe with excellent coffee. If my son attends Penn State, this would be my go-to hotel for sure.
