The room was clean. Parking is adequate. The bed was saggy and uncomfortable - the box spring was old and no longer firm enough to hold up the mattress. It bulged and sagged in several places. The bathroom door would not close all the way. The sliding glass door did not lock. The stairs up to the 2nd floor outside are steep and unsafe. There is a wobbly step on the first flight on the right (if you're facing them from the office). The check-in process was VERY off-putting. There is no staff member there to check you in. Instead you have to use a kiosk that links to someone off-site (most likely overseas). So you speak thru a screen with someone through both a language barrier and a delay. The breakfast is okay, but there is no tea offered. Only coffee. I don't drink coffee, so that wasn't useful to me. The outside doors to the hallways do not lock, even though they have card readers. So they're open 24/7 and accessible by anyone off the street, which is not safe. There is no smoking in the rooms, which is great, but that means smokers would go sit on the only stairs that access the 2nd floor from the outside, so I would have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to my room many times. None of this was a good value for the money.

Kiosk for a clerk for check in, He said someone would fix pancake machine. No one ever came. Could not swim in the pool because it was shut down due to maintenance problems. The door were not secure to get inside the building. The hallways were so dark and were not lite. The outside where you sit to look at the marsh was trashy. Check in is a kiosk. Hotel has no elevator. Has no staff to help you. No one there to attend or refill the small continetal breakfast. Room was clean. Overall...it did its job with resting our heads. Its not far from Paris Island if your attending a Marine graduation.

The pool was nice but the plants around the pool were unkempt. Our room was good until we laid down and fleas or some kind of bug was biting us pretty bad. The check in was a little ridiculous as well.

The only problem we had.oitside Doors tto rooms should be locked with entry ony by room key.. anyone can enter rooms and try to open access a room to someone staying there..Know the hotel is still under renovation so hopefully this will be fixed when we return. Otherwise loved our stay, view, atmosphere

It was a okay hotel. Nice pool. A convenient drive for us to get to our destination during the stay. Hotel needs updated on small things such as paint, new floor, new doors. Our door had a gap but locked so it wasn’t that bad. They kept charging my aunts card and not refunding it and also the day we had to leave my cousins car got hit but the guy told us the cameras didn’t work.. i suggest they get new cameras with so many people in and out.

Mold and mildew, humid and cigarrette smell. Yellow stains on all blankets, sheets and towels. Dust, air conditioner filter supper dirty and dusty. Urine and feces stain all over the toilet. Red ants infestation that will bite you while sleeping. Horrible experience.

Horrible will never go to any hotel associated with this brand. Left the same day because the bed had bed bugs and entire hotel hallways and everything smelt like dog urine.

My room was a little outdated and the bathroom could us a little remodeling but for the most part, those are the only negatives. I think that it's in a safe area. It was quiet at night. The continental breakfast was pretty good. My room was definitely very clean. I didn't see dirt in the corners or cobwebs. I will be the first to admit, this is not the place you bring your family for vacation, but for the solo traveler on a budget, it wasn't bad. I'd stay there again.

I didn’t even stay in this hotel for 10 minutes before I was checking out of it. Henry from front desk told me I would get a refund and it’s been 4 days and they won’t respond to me or Expedia…not to mention the room was disgusting (hence the reason why we were unable to stay there). With unclean comforters/bedding as well as yellow bathtubs and smelly hallways. Very disappointed in this experience as we drove 10 hours just to waste money that probably won’t get refunded to me.

My biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. My room had dust everywhere since we arrived. they only changed towels and emptied the trash cans never clean the room. Limited staff. The surroundings were ok. Some broken roofs but I imagine it's from a recent hurricane

Yikes, really slummy. Looks like something from a scary movie. They should use it for a movie set. First time that I have seen caulk around the tub 1 inch wide and a mixture of white and black.

-The fact that foreigners were running the hotel is a joke. -The lobby looks like crap; all security doors were not secured. -Some people were smoking weed in the back of the hotel. -The room I reserved had insects on the bed, pillows cases and comforters had light brown stains. -Walls have brown and black stains/spots. Paint on the walls are chipping everywhere. -The sliding doors were not aligned, and it took me 12 minutes to secure it. The bolt was not fully secured. The peep hole was way above the door, (Made for anyone 5 foot 9 inches). This must change or lose business permanently. -Whoever thought this is the way forward, is to be fired and thrown into a volcano. -I will post this on other social sites.

It was filthy! Patio door non functional. Torpe ripped and hanging from building. Lots of Hair in shower before I even showered. Shower curtain was mildewed. Mattress cover was filthy. I did not want to sleep here!

The hotel looked abandoned when I pulled up. No exterior lighting and the awnings were ripped and torn flapping in the wind. The sheets in my room were dirty on one of the beds. Luckily there was a second bed in the room with clean sheets. The hotel did not allow pets however there was a gentleman with two large dogs in a room close to mine.

The check in was nothing personal, you checked in by a screen. I like talking to a person that is in front of me. The hall ways were musty and smelled of marijuana. The side door on the 2nd floor didn’t lock after you closed it. Anyone could get in at any time, unsafe. The rooms however were not bad.

I really wanted to like this place. The great moss-covered trees in the front and the marsh out in back, this place had an ambience the new motels across the street don't have. But from the robot check in service to the tired decor, what could have been a great stay wasn't. The goal should be an extraordinary stay at a reasonable price.

For the price, the issues were not shocking. The door cards were hit or miss on working, most of the lights didn’t work, the outlets were…worrisome, and the vent in the bathroom may have been home to an alien civilization. We had an issue with the refrigerator, but that was quickly dealt with. Site security didn’t exist. All hall doors were unsecured. Overall property needs repair. Linens were actually clean, I think.

The wall outlet that the AC unit plugged into was loose and had to be moved around to get power to the AC this was unsafe. The sliding door out of the room was unlocked and difficult to get to lock. There was not a person at check in, it was being handled by someone remotely. I had reserved a room with a king size bed but got a room with 2 double beds.

You walk into lobby and greeted by a man behind a computer / kiosk. The connection was not great and made it difficult to understand. If you want toiletries or something they have a locker that is popped rather than dealing directly with a customer service person. The bed is surrounded by thin sheet metal so every time you get to close and kick it the sound is loud like a gong. You walk into lobby and greeted by a man behind a computer / kiosk. The connection was not great and made it difficult to understand. If you want toiletries or something they have a locker that is popped rather than dealing directly with a customer service person. The bed is surrounded by thin sheet metal so every time you get to close and kick it the sound is loud like a gong. I was very taken aback that there was nobody at the front desk for either checkin or checkout. We spoke to a monitor with someone that was over seas. Not good customer service It also bothered me that the outside doors did not lock anyone could walk into the hotel and be outside our door

Staff was non existant. Had to check in telecommute with a computer. The person spoke to me as if i was stupid and never stayed in a hotel before. They did not accept my handicap request and put me on 2nd floor with no assistance. There are no carts to move baggage, nothing. Most unprofessional place i have ever stayed.

I didn’t even stay in this hotel for 10 minutes before I was checking out of it. Henry from front desk told me I would get a refund and it’s been 4 days and they won’t respond to me or Expedia…not to mention the room was disgusting (hence the reason why we were unable to stay there). With unclean comforters/bedding as well as yellow bathtubs and smelly hallways. Very disappointed in this experience as we drove 10 hours just to waste money that probably won’t get refunded to me.

What was unique about this hotel is that they had a kiosk in the lobby to do the check in and check out and not a real person, and you have to speak with someone in the screen at the kiosk when you arrive or leave the hotel, When my brother in law did his check in a representative name Isaac asked for the payment method. He opted to pay cash for two nights a total of $289. He Inserted 3 one hundred dollar bills, and didn’t get a receipt. Then he charged my credit car with the same amount a credit card that I used ONLY to make the reservation and I did not authorized to pay for the room because he paid cash, meaning they charged twice for the same room. When we asked Isac why he said that my credit card will be refund. three days passed and they have not refund my money. I will have to dispute with my credit card company. The ice maker was dirty and broken without ice, and there is not a real person to speak to about these things on the kiosk “computer” . The kiosk was useless, the representative incompetent and no customer service orientation whatsoever. I’ll make sure my friends and family won’t go through this horrible experience, booking at this Howard Johnson by Wyndham.

My room was a little outdated and the bathroom could us a little remodeling but for the most part, those are the only negatives. I think that it's in a safe area. It was quiet at night. The continental breakfast was pretty good. My room was definitely very clean. I didn't see dirt in the corners or cobwebs. I will be the first to admit, this is not the place you bring your family for vacation, but for the solo traveler on a budget, it wasn't bad. I'd stay there again.

The room was clean. Parking is adequate. The bed was saggy and uncomfortable - the box spring was old and no longer firm enough to hold up the mattress. It bulged and sagged in several places. The bathroom door would not close all the way. The sliding glass door did not lock. The stairs up to the 2nd floor outside are steep and unsafe. There is a wobbly step on the first flight on the right (if you're facing them from the office). The check-in process was VERY off-putting. There is no staff member there to check you in. Instead you have to use a kiosk that links to someone off-site (most likely overseas). So you speak thru a screen with someone through both a language barrier and a delay. The breakfast is okay, but there is no tea offered. Only coffee. I don't drink coffee, so that wasn't useful to me. The outside doors to the hallways do not lock, even though they have card readers. So they're open 24/7 and accessible by anyone off the street, which is not safe. There is no smoking in the rooms, which is great, but that means smokers would go sit on the only stairs that access the 2nd floor from the outside, so I would have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to my room many times. The pool was not open, but on our checkin sheet said it was open until sunset. There is no front desk it’s a virtual desk somewhere in India. The sheets on one of the beds was dirty. The rooms and hallways stunk On the positive side the back was a great view.
