Convenient location, maybe 200 yards to the ocean. The pool (9ft) and lazy river were nice. Housekeeping were lax on cleaning the rooms, a lot of sand was on the floor. You get what you pay for.

Overall stay was awesome some of the staff would not acknowledge when you were speaking to them until you raised your voice and hollered. Room service daily and clean linen’s. Pool was nice and lazy river was nice a little discolored from all the sunscreen sand and stuff from beach. They did clean it every morning so they were on top of doing the best they could. I received my deposit back 2 days later with no issues. I will recommend you stay great view great location Walmart one block away.

The hotel has three sections, there is a beachfront section with ocean views, cottages, and the main section of the hotel. There is no elevator in that section of the hotel, so if you’re on the 3rd floor, you will get some exercise. The hotel has a nice pool, with a lazy river, and the beach is right across the street. The room had a refrigerator, stove with oven, a microwave, and coffee maker.

This hotel was advertised as oceanfront. While one part of the hotel apparently is oceanfront, where we were was not. The floors made our kids feet and clothes black upon entering. They did not regularly service our rooms. We had to call and ask and they would claim we left our do not disturb sign on, we didn't. We called twice one day for them to change the sheets, no one came and we were told no one was there to do it so we could do it ourselves was were handed a garbage bag of sheets. The gym was non functional. None of the machines would even turn on, it was not air conditioned and the only machine with weights was one pull away from a cable snapping. There were food crumbs and empty wrappers on the floor of the gym as well, it was filthy. Really the only ok thing about the place was the pool and lazy river in which we found a bandaid floating in and exposed wires from the pool light. The reviews marked this place as wonderful and we are baffled. I will not be recommending this place to anyone and I'm disappointed Expedia would even market this place.

The room was small but clean and nice. The bed was soft. The outdoor pool and lazy river were nice but the indoor pool was freezing. The staff was very nice. We always found a good parking place. They do offer food but not much of a selection and it's high priced. I would stay here again.

Unfortunately, the pictures are better than real life. The front desk was very friendly. when I went to take a shower. I looked down and there was black curly wig hair all over the bottom of the shower that had come off the inside of the shower curtain and was coming out of the drain as well. I hurry up and cleaned it up before my husband saw it because I knew he would flip out then when I got out of the shower, I noticed on the hand soap pump. There was also black curly wig hair the third day we were there I received towels that had the same looking black wig hair on it. I’m not sure what’s going on with the wig hair but it kind of grossed me out The accommodations were pretty basic. We really only needed it to sleep at night because we were out and about all day, so it worked for what we needed it for, but I wouldn’t return.

Families beware. This hotel is run down, dirty and outright dangerous. Hotel does not help you with alternate accommodations if you book on Expedia. Man drove into parked car at arrival and took off. No one called the police. Man vaping outside our door all night first night. Found empty wine bottles and bugs inside our room upon arrival, Room clearly not cleaned and the small was awful. Holes in the curtains, flithy bathroom and the staff could care less. Honestly no one would help us, including Expedia. We left after night one and checked into another hotel. Do not stay here!

Upon arrival the lady running the desk got an attitude over the phone, then once I got to my room there was sand all over the floor and hair in the shower. This morning before check out I noticed 4 different big areas of black mold. I informed the man running the front desk, and all he did was return my deposit which was being returned anyways. We were given a room on the 6th floor of the beachfront property. Our room was by the elevator, which put off a weird smell and was noisy all night. We had a great balcony, but the door wouldn’t open without 3 people tugging on it and it hadn’t been cleaned in forever. The bathroom was nasty and the bed was too.

Wydam should be ashamed. This property is a dump and should be condemned. There is old and there is poorly kept. The room stank so bad and was not cleaned. The shower curtain was too long and you had to stand on it while showering. The bed skirts were wrinkled and the walls were dirty. I booked because of the Wyndom name, NEVER AGAIN! The baseboards had holes in them and, I still cannot believe how filthy the walls were.

Ok property, some wear and tear. Minimal upkeep. Great location, right across from beach. Desk staff was great. I had an incident with cleaning staff, misunderstanding that I know was just them trying to do their job but not ok. I paid for a late check out and the staff knocked on my door 4 times in an hour to say they needed to clean my room. At one point this man, in street clothes with no identifiers told me to go with him to the office. This is how people get kidnapped and murdered and raised some serious red flags. The front office responded to my concerns and confirmed he was an employee but that that was not ok. There was one night where there patrons in the pool late (11pm) and were really loud. Room was clean enough. The price was somewhat reasonable, the room could have been a bit nicer.

The room was not what we expected. There isn't even a picture of the 2 room types we had. I believe that it is false advertising. However, I was able to switch to a King room with kitchen, but it was not the one in the pictures. Act6the entire building that I was in is not pictured on the website. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Bathroom was very small but clean. It was an ok stay, but I will not return.

It was... "OK." Nothing really special to recommend. Some things that were odd: the hot water control on the kitchenette sink turned on in both directions, and to turn it off you had to find the 'middle' of the dial. Why? The cold valve worked normally, all the way to one way was on, the other was off. Two matching lamps with different shades, a lamp in the corner behind the chair was, IMO, hazardous - and wouldn't turn on - no switch on the lamp itself, and no switch nearby on the wall worked - the part of the socket that holds the bulb was loose and tilted to one side. I unplugged it.. On the second evening our bathroom smelled like an ash tray, as I think someone was smoking in another bathroom and blowing the smoke into the ventilation system to try and disguise it - and it found its way into our room on the ground floor. On the last of our 3 nights we came back and my wife thought it sounded like someone was taking a shower in our bathroom! It was someone overhead, let the water overflow. The staff gave us another room because - but only when I insisted. Anyway, it was cheaper a lot of the places around, we needed a room, and this sufficed. It's not beach-front, as the ocean is across the street, but there's a vacant lot there and you can see the ocean from some rooms, though not from ours and probably not from most.

It was great. The first room we were in had a few extremely minor issues so we asked just to see if there was another room. That late at night we didn’t have high expectations but the lady at the front was extremely friendly and didn’t hesitate to just give us a different room. Everything was perfect in the second room. We forgot to remove the privacy sign when we need more towels, but luckily caught the cleaning staff in the walkway and she was extremely kind and gave us fresh towels. Parking was good. There was a couple of times we had to park in the back park of the lot but it was good. Stairs were under maintenance so we had to take the elevator. All in all, very satisfied and would stay there again!

I usually don’t write reviews but this was not a pleasant stay. We had to go to the front desk in which we stayed in the oceanfront room and take our used towels to get new ones. We never got our room cleaned and when asking the front desk they just kept saying they are making their rounds and never came. It just was not a good stay for the weekend and I would not stay there again.

My daughter and I went for a weekend trip I had this place booked for the weekend however we came down early on Friday and stayed somewhere that was terrible so when we saw our room here it was a breath of fresh air! It was very clean and convenient. Although I was under the expression by the pictures on hotel.com that our room was on the beach it was not but was still fine it was just a short walk across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. We didn’t really use the pool so I can’t comment on that part but I also was satisfied that our room had a small little kitchen area in it. Overall good experience here!

The property is split into two separate buildings, so unless you pay for the "Oceanview" suites, expect to be across the street. That being said, there's an empty lot, so walking to the beach took 5 minutes max. We rented a king efficiency, no view. The building is older and dated, but well kept. The bed was comfortable and kitchen functional, but the bathroom small and there was a musty odor. We had hot showers. Loud music from the cars on the street at night, but you're on the strip. Most hotels in MB are used heavily and saltwater horrible on the structure, so I didn't expect perfect. I expected clean, functional, smaller resort, and comfortable... and that's what I got. If you're going for luxury, pay more. Would I stay again? Yes, but I'd pay more for the Oceanview Room. There's restaurants, shops, and activities everywhere, but none on the property. The pools looked nice, but we preferred the beach. Staff was pleasant. We stayed 3 nights in late August.

The tub/ shower was busted large holes in the fiberglass covered with a mat! Very dangerous . They knew this but rented the room anyway. Minimal or no cooking pots/ pans. One lid to the room we got moved to. One fork / one spoon for 4 people Told the staff twice, still no cook ware after a four night stay. Had a service dog approved for her to live at the university we were moving her to that week , they charged us for a service animal ! $60 a night.

Rooms need a little modification. Beds were great! I strongly suggest bringing air freshener, which is something I always do anyways. We had a three bed kitchenette with ocean view wonderful for families! The kitchen had utensils, pots etc. There’s a broom and dustpan if you’re like me and hate sand on the floor. everything was extremely clean. I did appreciate not having to ask for clean towels which seems to be the new thing at hotels. Also, they very conveniently leave pool towels in the upper part of the closets which was nice. About a 20 minute walk to family kingdom and seafood restaurants. Plenty of stores within 15-20 minute walk including grocery and dollar generals for the thrifty shoppers. I did visit with 2 teenagers and a 6 month old. We walked to everything we wanted to do. They have a great breakfast spot about a block away on the same side as hotel. Just a suggestion since they don’t serve breakfast. STAFF WAS EXCELLENT

The hotel had been recently renovated but it felt like a few details were missed. A dishwasher could have been easily added and would make it better for a family who was staying all week. Also we cooked and no salt and pepper, a strainer were there so it wasnt quite set up for that. Just a few more details would make it better. Also the door to electric panel in our room kept popping open which just looked disconcerting. Also my daughter got sick in the middle of the night and we needed some things but couldnt find anyone on duty. We were also charged a resort fee without a good clear explanation or pre warning. Lastly as we were packing up someone watched us the whole time. We didnt appreciate that and it felt out of character for a wyndham. As did the excessive fees for early check ins and late check outs. They were sent by message and almost suggested in case we wanted them as a way to capitalize on the stay. All together I probably wont stay here again but it wasnt terrible for the price.

I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this property! I contacted the Sandbar's "owner", despite all of the many shortfalls with this property, the best they could say was sorry for the inconvenience; was not allowed to leave early with a refund. Property is in a crime infested area (South Myrtle Beach), i.e., open drug use/sales, prostitution, homelessness, fights, yelling, etc.; lack of any visible police presence. Upon checking into my room, the balcony door was open and the lock and handle were broken; dirty floors; toilet bowl seat had permanent grooved and black indentations. Tub was filthy, appeared unsanitary and had permanent blackened stains. The sheets appeared dingy and badly wrinkled; air conditioner consistently sounded like a very loud piston engine - could not get a good night's sleep; soap in the container in the bath tub area was EMPTY. The light in the foyer was missing the bulb, hence, there was no light in this area; the towel rack had a gaping hole in the wall. The stairwell smelled like urine. A 2nd room booked for later arrivals was changed because room was dirty and had a foul smell; replacement rm was double booked and a very angry party claimed the room was theirs and said they had previously been in the rm. In the end, it was our room, and it was amicably resolved; false and misleading advertisement. 2 properties; one is a Motel and the other is a Hotel, across the street. no breakfast, pix showed bkfst room. CredCard wrongly charged.

Unprofessional staff. My Flight was cancelled. Took 5 hours for someone to handle my call to cancel the first night stay. I was told that room would be available the next morning ( since I paid for two nights). Got there and was told I was a no show and the place was full.
