Dinosaur Inn & Suites

Very friendly! The outdoor pool was nice. The only reason this is getting 4 stars is due to the lack of an elevator with a husband who is recovering from back surgery (and my 9 year old was very disappointed that our room didn’t have a towel dinosaur waiting for us in our room. Breakfast was amazing and complimentary!

The Dinosaur Inn is a great little older style hotel with a very convenient location near Dinosaur National Park. The property includes a wonderful outdoor pool that was very refreshing. A guest laundry is available at the hotel and was a great bonus for us during our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable with two queen beds. The bathroom was a split area and had two sink areas. The room was very clean with the exception of floors. Both the carpet and the tiled areas needed to be deep cleaned. I would have scored the property higher if it weren’t for the floors. We would consider staying again if traveling though Utah.

I booked this based on price and location, plus their free breakfast. We arrived on a Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and were able to check in. The property is located in the heart of the Vernal business district, within an easy walk of any businesses in the area. We walked to dinner each night. The layout appears to be the combination of 2 distinct original motels, now combined. This includes an Italian restaurant (reviewed separately). The rooms associated with both of the original motels surround a pool. Rooms are direct access to the parking lot (i.e., no 'central hallway'), which was fine for us. Check-in was easy. They also provide a couple of computers for guest access. This was useful on our last night for printing our boarding passes. In addition, they allow access to their dining room so that you can refill water bottles throughout the day, a service which we took full advantage of. Rooms in back of the pool are slightly trickier to park, but otherwise there was no issue. Our room was spacious in terms of where you can lay out a suitcase. There was also plenty of room on the bathroom counter for all 3 of us. This was in stark contrast to some places we've stayed in the last year (I'm looking at you, Amsterdam!). The only slight drawback to the room was the beds. I don't know that this was quite 'queen size', so 2 of us together both felt a bit cramped. It wasn't a big deal, though. Breakfast on the mornings we stayed here was from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.

Such a lovely hotel and the room was really comfortable. Did not go in the pool but did dip feet in and it was nice and clean. Nice breakfast. For any smokers there are areas to have a cigarette

The best hotel in Vernal. Wished the pool was open, but it was mid May, so no points off. Cool little town and nice hotel Breakfast was good. Make sure you check out Little B’s if you like a local bar with great food and very friendly bartenders.

Fantastic place! Loved the double sinks and the Keurig. Liked the guest laundry. Two washers and dryers. Comfortable beds.

This is an older hotel that has been completely remodeled and is a nice place to stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is good, the breakfast was good, the place seemed well kept, except the floor in our room was just dirty. The floors are hard surface which I like, but it was like they just vacuum and never really clean the floor. I suggest they start cleaning the floors between guests. The dirty floor marred an otherwise good experience.

The room was clean, however there was no shampoo in the dispenser nor conditioner. The air conditioner/heater was very noisy when it kicked on. It was hard to sleep through that noise. The complementary breakfast was OK, for the price I paid for the room, I think amenities could’ve been better. I would not stay here again. I do believe I could’ve got a room for half the price and had a better experience.

Super clean and nice remodeled rooms. I was there for business and would stay again. Great place for the price.

This was a very nice clean room. The only negative would be that when I pulled back the bedspread and top sheet there was a stain in the middle of the fitted sheet. Time to throw away and replace I think.

old and dirty bathroom floor and tile filthy

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. Housekeeping was questionable. Housekeeping didn't come every day. Supplies in the room were non-existent. We had to go the the front desk twice requesting toilet paper and tissues. Plastic cups weren't replaced. Refrigerator was very noisy and made it difficult to sleep. The bathroom fan was extremely loud when turned on (like the bearings were worn out) and had poor aid flow. This was our third year to stay. Unfortunately we will stay somewhere else the next time we come to town. Sorry. ☹️

This older hotel has been well taken care of and updated. The beds were comfortable. Our room -- far from the road -- was quiet and spacious. The breakfast was good. We'd stay here again.

Room was clean, had a king-size bed with no rooms above mine. Everything explained at check-in, nice fellow. Breakfast area had many tables and the staff handed out some of the food while there were 2 waffle makers. Quiet stay since the pool was not close by. Mattress was comfortable and supportive enough, tv screen was a little small. I would stay there again.

The room was comfortable, but some of the equipment might be old, because the A/C unit and the bath exhaust fan made a lot of noise. The A/C noise made it really hard to fall asleep. The staff was nice and gave us some restaurant recommendations for dinner.

However, when looking at Marriott options, they were about $100 per night more than the Dinosaur Inn, and since the reviews were very good of the Dinosaur Inn, we gave it a try. We were very, very happy with the whole experience. Check-in was fast and within a minute we were going to our room. The room was large, beds comfortable, towels were thick, there was also a sink and mirror in a separate room outside of the bathroom. Tile floors and walls in the bathroom. We ate breakfast there, and it was very good. I cannot say enough good things about the place.

Quiet, newly renovated rooms. Well kept property. Breakfast area was a little small but good assortment. Check in and check put personnel were very friendly.

The property was laid out like a motel. We had a family suite and it was great 3 comfy bed and plenty of plugs

The room and breakfast were great. It was just really noisy. The ac/fan in the room was super loud.

I enjoyed my stay here. The executive sleep was roomy, the tub was large, the bed was comfortable. My only complaints that the TV did not allow me to connect and watch from my streaming accounts. The only thing on the TV were old reruns and the home shopping network. My room was situated right next to the 4 lane major street. Truckers and traffic started at 7 am and lasted all day. Next time I would ask for a different room. I tried but they couldn't accommodate me as I booked with a 3rd party. Lesson learned. The front desk person was nice and helpful.

When I checked in, I found out that their system couldn't use my info, and they were going to cancel my reservation unless I could find an alternative. I only have one payment method. I had to call my father-in-law and ask him to help out. (Description is a bit vague because my review was not submitted. Trying to rewrite without using terms I suspect were flagged on the initial review)

Great stay service was great. Cherlyn was an amazing hostess in the morning for breakfast giving us ideas on what to do and personal stories from those places. On our last day she suggested moonshine arch telling us about her personal adventure and how she wasn’t able to complete the hike when we got back to the hotel shared our pictures with her she was very happy. We can’t wait to come back!

The staff was incredibly helpful! We had problems with our car after a long drive and they were so kind to let us use a space so we could get it fixed enough to get to a mechanic. The breakfast was amazing! We had a standard double queen room and it was huge, clean and beautiful! The beds and pillows were comfortable, especially after the long day we had. The pool was so clean and crystal clear! Truly a wonderful find with affordable prices and personal attention you don't get from the chain hotels. Thank you for and amazing experience!

Could’ve been a great stay, but when we discovered the room we had booked for 3 adult-sized people (my sons are both over 6 feet tall) only had one bed, the staff member at check in just stared at me and offered absolutely no help or solution. We had to go somewhere else and pay AGAIN. After a very long and hot day of travel, this was so frustrating. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just moved us to a room with 2 beds.

Not so great turned into good. Air conditioner on the fritz, but taken care of promptly, and with a smile. The staff was very friendly!

Check in was very easy and the front desk attendant was so friendly and explained all available amenities. The room was very clean and beds were very comfortable. It was also very nice to have a good restaurant in the same parking lot.

Probably the biggest disappointment of our 5 week honeymoon was the 4 nights here. We arrived a few hours early as the weather was terrible and asked if we could check in early but was told the room wasn't ready but they would call us as soon as it was. We weren't offered anywhere safe to put our luggage while we looked around town while waiting so we just sat in the car for almost 3 hours waiting for a call that never came. Went back to the office to find the young lady with her feet up on the desk struggling to get off her phone for long enough to check us in. No appology for not calling, too busy I guess? We got our key and went to the room which interestinghly was right beside where we were parked. NB. never saw anyone come or go from the room the whole time wewere parked there so was it really not ready?? Were never given any instructions for the facilties of the hotel so had to go back to the front desk to find the ice maching which was only accesible during office hours. Do people steal ice around here or something? Had to empty our own trash every day as rooms not serviced daily or even in the 4 night stayed. Trash bin outside the rooms on the walkway wasn't emptied in the 4 days either. It wasn't as if they were busy as we only saw about another 4 or 5 guests during our stay. Very disappointed as we read good reviews about this family owned and operated hotel. Clearly things have changed.

This hotel has the best location for a festival in Downtown Vernal. It is walking distance from all the fun activities in the evening and just generally a great place to stay. It's really comfortable and has free breakfast in the mornings.

Super close to the monument, will definitely be back to explore the town. Plenty of small locally owned business and shopping. The area felt quiet and peaceful.

Great location- easy walk to restaurants if you didn’t just want to eat at restaurant located at motel. Hotel breakfast was decent. Comfortable room, beds were okay. Bathroom clean and shower was great. Fun dinosaur signage. Great size pool! Large shallow area for my 6 year old to play in. Area felt safe and an easy drive to Dinosaur National Monument.

One of the best stops on our trip. The hotel was very spacious, clean, and had friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing with homemade breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, and more!

Very good breakfast.

This is our second stay there. The breakfast is a unique option I have not seen in any other motel. There is someone to take your order as you enter the dining area. I ordered the breafast buttito which was hot and already prepared. The prepared cinamon roll was excellent. The beds are semi firm and comfortable. The room layout is well organized.
