We booked this place for a run of shows at the Hampton Coliseum. The room was comfortable and quiet. My biggest complaint was that the pool was closed with no indication of that when we booked. It was above 80 the whole time and it would have been nice to be able to relax in the pool.

The pool was closed which was a bummer but it was after Labor Day so we understood. The staff was so sweet and accommodating the beds were clean and comfy! Great water pressure and the rooms had to be sound proofed because I was able to listen to work late while working on my music projects and no one could hear. I asked the neighbors! Next to a mall if you want to buy new sneaks and the price was unbeatable. Would return without a question. Clarissa greeted us with such warmth and made us feel welcome. Plus bacon at the breakfast bar!

The property pool was clean, the receptionists were very polite, breakfast was decent, the staff was polite, we used the washer and dryer to clean our clothes before we left. Plenty of parking but the parking area in back of the hotel could be better lit!!

Had a good night's stay at this hotel. Beds are comfortable, hotel has plenty of parking, and they have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine in the lobby, which is complimentary. Breakfast was provided and contained muffins, toast, yogurt, eggs, biscuits and gravy, plus waffles, among other things. The only issue is this is a pet friendly hotel. The room across the hall had a very loud barking dog. Staff moved us, but we had to get a queen room instead of the king we paid for, because king was not available. That said, for one night the room was fine. We'd stay here again.

Pool was closed and we were not informed of this. The pool was the main reason why we booked this hotel. My fiancé and I both woke up with sore stiff backs because the bed was rock hard. Sausage at breakfast was cold. Low water pressure and shower head leaked Shower floor was level with bathroom floor causing water to go all over bathroom when showering. Front desk guy (didn’t get his name because he wasn’t wearing a name tag) was very rude and unprofessional when we asked for more towels being we only had one in our room. He proceeded to tell me that they didn’t have any and that the housekeeper didn’t come in until 9 am. I said so are you telling me that I have to wait until the housekeeper comes in to get another towel? He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to set my dirty towel outside my door and that he will grab it once he’s done with his work and look for some more. I said can you please look as soon as possibly because my fiancé and I were on a time schedule to get to our next destination. He then proceeded to talk crap under his breath as I walked away. I have stayed at numerous hotels and have never had to fight to get extra towels on top of such poor management. I am VERY disappointed with this hotel especially with the rating it has. Do Better!!!

It was a lovely stay, the elevator stopped working and with 2 toddlers it was hard going up the stairs but breakfast was always a nice experience especially with the breakfast lady she was lovely it felt like we were with family when she was there. And the room was also very comfy!

Building is physically out dated. Use of mini microwave blows the fuse for the room. It’s July and the heat was on in the room, smelled of body odor. Pubic hair in the shower stall. Half bathroom lights burned out. Limited handicap access. That’s a start.

Hotel was just ok. Booked a king room with sleeper sofa and they gave us a room with two double beds. When we asked if we could get a king room, they said they had none available. We also found mold on the curtain and a hair in the bed.

This is my go to hotel in Newport News. It's always a lower price than the surrounding hotels, but rated just as high if not higher. This was my 4th stay at the property and I was very pleased. Check-in is always a breeze, room was clean and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The staff is very friendly, and the property is relatively clean. The close proximity to the mall and close restaurant options are a plus! The one glaring downside are the paper thin walls, thankfully we had family staying in the adjacent room, otherwise we’d be listening to a strangers conversation.

Hotel is fairly well kept. A bit dated, but not terrible. Stayed in a king accessible room. Room had a mildew smell, the shades were dirty and the grout in the bathroom shower as well. While it looked "clean" it wasn\'t deep cleaned very often. Breakfast was ok and the attendant was as nice as can be. Front desk staff at check-in was also nice. If you are looking for a cheap stay with no frills in an area with easy interstate access, shopping and dining nearby, then this will do well for you.

People seemed to congregate at the check-in desk and were noisy until 4:00 AM! The room HVAC unit was also extremely loud and kept cycling on/off about every 30 minutes. These two issues combined made it almost impossible to get any sleep.

I would like to add that two of the staff members get an A+ from my husband and I their friendliness and efficiency and just their all around presence made our stay that much better. Nautica was at the front desk on our arrival—there was an issue with my card but she didn’t make me feel embarrassed in any way she kept smiling and working on it till problem was solved. Live that girl. The other woman I’m sorry I don’t know her name was the breakfast attendant. She was very thin and a smile that lit up the room. Don’t know her age but she had the energy of a teen She was the hardest worker I’d ever seen. She made sure everyone had everything they needed without ever asking. And she greeted everyone like they were family

I don’t like being lied to but even more I don’t like when someone assumes I’m lying to them.On March 1st, I asked for a late check out for room 137. The night shift desk service gentleman looked in the computer and then told me he could give me a noon check-out. The next morning I hear a knock at my door. I informed the cleaning lady I had a late check out. Then I received a phone call saying I didn’t have a late checkout. The night shift service gentleman didn’t inform him. I proceeded to tell the day shift service desk worker I was told I had a late checkout. He said no, he would give me until 11:30am to be out. Very unprofessional service workers.

I had a late check-in (after 9pm) but had to wait at the front desk because there was no one there to check me in. I called the front desk multiple times and the phone rang, but no one came. After waiting several minutes, someone came to check me in and actually said my room number out loud while handing me my card, which made me feel uncomfortable. I was even more uncomfortable when seeing it was a double room. When checking out then next morning, the front desk person was attending to a baby

DO NOT STAY HERE — Left Us Stranded at 2 AM on Memorial Day Weekend If I could give zero stars, I would. We had a confirmed reservation for Memorial Day weekend—one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. We booked in advance, planned around it, and even called to double-check. Everything seemed fine… until we were literally minutes away from the hotel at 2 AM, when I called to let them know we were close and they informed us: “We don’t have your room. We are fully booked.” No apology. No explanation. No offer to help us find another place to stay. We were just abandoned, exhausted, and left scrambling to find a room in a completely booked-up area in the middle of the night. This wasn’t a mistake—it was a total failure in basic hospitality and a complete lack of professionalism. You don’t sell out people’s rooms and leave them stranded without recourse. Ever. Do yourself a favor: avoid this hotel at all costs. If they can leave us out in the cold on a holiday weekend, they’ll do it to you too.

The check in person was having issues with the computer, so took longer than expected. And as far as the free breakfast, by the time I got there at, 730 am, there was not much left. No eggs, no bacon, and to top it off no coffee! Went back to my room, packed and went to Dunkin across the street, wish Hampton Inn would have been an option

Great hotel, conveniently located. Despite highway 64 being behind the hotel (and my room was on that side), I didn't hear any road noise. Comfy bed, clean room, friendly staff, hot and tasty breakfast... and all at a reasonable price!

The hotel's alright, I guess. We stayed there for two nights, five of us. Breakfast was pretty bad, just the basics, like scrambled eggs and either sausage or bacon. Both tasted awful. And forget about ketchup – they didn't have any! I don't get why they even bother with breakfast if they can't even meet the simplest needs. No bananas, just one tiny apple. They should've just done grab-and-go; that would've been better.

We stayed at this hotel while we were in town visiting Busch Gardens! It is about 20 minutes away from the park & in a great location with the mall & a lot of great food options across the street. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. The breakfast had great options & the lady serving it was very kind! Rooms were clean & I would stay here again!

Overall experience was good, busy holiday weekend stayed one night, next morning breakfast was crowded and only had one poor lady trying to accommodate all the items that ran out (juice station, coffee station, eggs, sausages, bread, waffles etc. Maybe they should have 2-3 people during this long holiday weekends, hope the lady got a bonus for working extra hard. Room was clean, all other amenities were in working condition. We had to park on the rear side of the hotel and seemed not well illuminated and seemed sketchy. Other than that, I wouldn’t mind coming back to this hotel in the future.

From check in to check out the only thing I can complain about is the breakfast- the eggs were nasty and there was very limited food choices. The staff was great. The young guy who was working the desk when we checked in that evening was very nice and friendly. Will definitely stay here again
