Checked in on Wed. Was told the elevator was not working but would be repaired tomorrow. It was not repaired during our 5 day stay. Carrying luggage up 3 flights of stairs was rough. Breakfast was pretty disappointing. First day turned out to be the best (sausage & omlettes) but everything was cold. The next day was horrible. Big pile of broken pieces of greasy burnt bacon. Not much else worth eating. On the other days the food was ok if you could get any. Constant line of people waiting and then the little bacon they brought was only enough for the first 5 people waiting. They told us they were sold out when we checked in so it’s not as if they didn’t know it would be busy but they just didn’t seem prepared. On the other hand everyone I encountered that worked there was friendly, professional, and represented the hotel well. The room was clean and spacious. The location was prefect and you could walk to much of downtown. Fix the elevator and the breakfast and we’d be happy to return.

Very pet friendly for additional $25 per night. Pretty hotel with convenient location. Road noise could be heard from our room, but it wasn’t bad. We had a sliding glass door to at opened directly to the large pet relief yard. Lots of little extras that weren’t expected but were appreciated (soup and salad was being offered when we checked in, just before their milk/cookie offering).

Beautiful hotel with a good breakfast, pleasant staff, fabulous bedding. I usually take my own pillow when we stay at hotels…..not necessary with this hotel. Good strong shower with plenty of hot water. My only complaint is parking. There are not enough slots when the hotel is full. You can actually be forced to park elsewhere on a busy night and make your own way up the hill.

The hotel was as expected. Noisy Elevator needs cable maintenance. Some traffic noise but can be disregarded with heater/AC functioning. My unit was noisy on cool setting and more quiet on heat setting. Breakfast was ok.

Very thin walls so you can hear all your neighbors. Front desk staff, at least the woman we dealt with, was rude and unfriendly. Room was renovated which was nice, but unfortunately a little dirty (hair in the shower and trash from previous guests was still in there). Liked the free parking, but it does fill up at night. Property was in a convenient location though. Not sure I’d stay here again.

Outside vehicle traffic was loud throughout the night and noise from other guests and slamming doors constant all day. Rooms were average but had the most uncomfortable thin pillows. Even with multiple pillows, they deflated to wafer thin. Parking was horrible with very narrow spots that required rubbing doors with vehicle parked in the next spot just to get in and out. Wider vehicles took multiple spots that filled up available spots and required finding parking in a nearby paid parking lot. Front desk staff was unfriendly. Never again will I use this hotel.

Staff were very helpful in getting me checked on 3 hrs early. Room on South side of hotel was very noisy with traffic noises well past midnight. Probably be looking for a different hotel for my next Spokane stay. Great variety of foods for breakfast!

My room was great except next time I would request a room that was not near the elevator. We could hear it going up and down all night into early morning. Unfortunately we also had a family above us that had a young child that ran back and forth most of the evening then again early in the morning.

Our family stayed a night here on an extended road trip across the northwest US and we were all so sad to only stay one evening. The hotel itself is jaw-dropping gorgeous. Felt like it would be way out of our price range anywhere else. The evening dinner+happy hour+evening cookies were incredible perks. Super friendly staff! The breakfast had a great, large variety and the coffee maker that grinds the beans!! *swoon* We were in the executive suite on the second floor and it was large enough for our family of 6. Only downside was it being right across from the elevator, but what can ya do? The shower had body jets and was massive. Did I mention this felt way more bougie than we’d normally be able to afford?? The AC in the bedroom wasn’t working, but we were able to run the one in the living room and it was totally fine. And we loved having a separate sink from the bathroom one! All in all, this was our favorite place to stay and nothing else will feel good enough after this.

Location to downtown and Gonzaga was great. The hotel was overbooked for rooms with two beds so we were put into a room with one bed and a sleeper that next to the (noisy) elevator. When I called the front desk to share my dissatisfaction the manager moved us into a room with two beds. Not sure how/why that occurred but we were quite grateful!

Overall an excellent choice. Great location and it’s evident the staff take pride in their work as everyone was nice and professional, the property was clean, breakfast was more than acceptable. Only two minor issues: one is that there is a single elevator for a 4 floor building, the other being with the ac on and curtains closed, the ac vents send the air up the curtains and not into the room as they cover then non movable vents. Other than that a great choice.

Overall our stay was nice, the property was clean, in a safe area, and walkable to downtown. I purposely booked a room with a balcony and city view (it was extra to do this) and upon check in was given a ground floor room behind bushes. When I went back to the front desk and brought this up her reply was ‘Well you’re on the city view side and you have a patio’. I told her I booked a balcony on purpose and multiple times she told me I had a patio instead and there were no other rooms available. It wasn’t until I asked what the purpose of paying more for a balcony was if they just assign you as they want. Then she said she could switch me with someone who hadn’t checked in yet as long as we hadn’t touched anything in the room and had left it resellable and that she would have to check it. She did eventually move us to the 3rd floor with a balcony but I don’t understand why we weren’t assigned that in the beginning since the reservation clearly said balcony room. The front desk lady was not necessarily rude but was clearly annoyed I was asking for the room I paid for. It was a decent breakfast and we might stay there again but I’m hesitant after our check in issue. The kids were excited to finally stay on the ‘castle on the hill’ and LOVED the balcony. The city view was very nice at night as well.

I needed to book this hotel for my daughter in law for her safety. I called and explained that to front desk, and the girl I spoke with was completely understanding and accommodating; asked if my daughter in law needed toiletries and stuff up front when she came in to make check in easier. My daughter in law and grandson got a peaceful nights sleep. I appreciate that sometimes we have situations in life; didn’t need to go into details and whomever I spoke to, I forget her name, was very polite and understanding and it was all over the phone. I told her I could come down if need be but she said not necessary. This is definitely a hotel I will go back to.

Wanted to take my wheelchair and go for a boot around the area and riverpark walk. Unfortunately there were homeless people and drug users everywhere so that i felt unsafe to go out. Was also a notice warning about car break and enters, so protect your possessions. Hubby went out grabbed take out and ate in room. Stayed only 1 night so for us it was fine. Hotel is beautiful from the outside, so sad about the surrounding area.

The exterior of the hotel is gorgeous, it looks like a castle on a hill. The interior though could use some updating. The room was clean but the carpeting throughout the room and in the hallways just made everything feel dirty and grungy. Of our 10 day road trip across the PNW and norther states, unfortunately this was our least favorite hotel and also the most expensive. It has such good reviews which is why I picked it, but this hotel was just not for us. It’s located downtown and we saw a lot of homeless and unsavory characters nearby. Overall we would not stay there again.

Excellent selection of good food for breakfast (loved the cinnamon rolls). Even a small evening meal followed by cookies and milk at 7. Room and beds were comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Costs a little more than some but Holiday Inn Express is always worth a few more dollars in my opinion.
