Clean room, two restaurants, and a gift shop. It was easy to find.

Love the log cabin rusticness, room very cozy and unique, quiet surrounding for a good night’s sleep, staff friendly and accommodating, delicious dining experiences highly suggest the huckleberry pancakes for breakfast (huge) and cowboy stew for dinner, convenience store plus gas station… a one stop shop and stay… highly recommend!!

Very nice! Convenient as a great stop between the parks. Restaurants on site as well as gas and small store. Staff and other guests were so friendly and welcoming! No A/C , but didn’t need anyways; but just a thought if staying in the warmer months. Definitely would stay again!

My room and the shared bathroom were very clean, and things were quiet during my stay. There on-site restaurant and shop were convenient and let me focus on enjoying the parks!

The Hatchet is a quaint resort property with significant history to the local area surrounding Grand Teton NP. It is clean, well-kept, offers delicious dining options, and provides a lodge ambiance with large beam cabins and wildflower landscaping with the mountains and valley as an incredible backdrop. We loved our stay and will come again, HIGHLY recommend.

We used Hatchet Resort as our base for accessing Grand Teton NP. Hatchet is approximately 30 mins drive to the NP. The drive afforded us great views of the Tetons as well as opportunities to see black bears, bison and prong horns. The resort has a motel setup away from the road. Parking is outside your front door and the log construction of the rooms helps to keep them cool although there is a lack of natural light. The room we had did not have air conditioning or a fridge however a fan was provided and an excellent ice machine was easily accessible. We used the second bed to store our luggage as storage space was limited. We ate at the restaurant on all three nights of our stay and the food was excellent whilst the servers were accommodating and personable.

The cabin look is fun and makes the stay near Yellowstone and the Tetons feel like you are immersing yourself into nature. That is fun and nice. It is also nice they have a gas station on site. Rooms however are not air conditioned and I wish they’d spray for mosquitoes around the property. We couldn’t enjoy the outside games, benches, sitting areas, etc. because the mosquitoes would just swarm. It made it impossible. We wanted to enjoy the area after a fun day in the Tetons, but couldn’t. It is nice there are restaurants on site, but the cost is very unreasonable. It is too expensive and so we weren’t able to dine on site. We instead went to Dornan’s down the road. I also think the hotel itself is extremely overpriced. I think they are able to “up charge” because people are just stuck paying because there aren’t other options. The store is nice, but again overpriced and neither the female or male adult staff worker were very personable or welcoming. No greeting upon arrival, no hellos, no chitchat. We bought bug spray in the store…$12 for regular can of OFF. That unfortunately shows they are just trying to make a buck. Hotel rooms had a fun cabin feel, but the floors were very dirty. We had to wash our feet many times and put socks in a bag after just walking around the room and before getting into bed. It served our purposes of having a place to stay, but I wouldn’t pay that price again or stay there again.

This property needs some update. Obviously, owners are not paying attention to mold and mildew growing in the bathrooms. Carpet is also dirty and sticky. Location is convenient but I recommend to look for another hotel to stay.

No refrigerator, no dressers, water smelled like rotten eggs, floor was sloped and carpet was sticky. I had to check out early and sleep in another hotel. Wasted $300 on that night. Very overpriced resort. Not worth the money.

For the price, a small refrigerator would have been helpful. Mold in the shower-not pleasant to look at.

The room is very clean. We enjoyed our stay.

This property is very convenient to the park and to Yellowstone. It has great dining options but our room’s (#16) carpet was nasty and the bathroom lanoleum floor was sticky. The only cooling feature to the room was a window fan and the room was hot even at night. There was no refrigerator. The back window did not close properly. That is why our rating is low. Otherwise the outside space was quaint and manicured, the grill had delicious hot breakfasts and was open early. The restaurant bar was charming with an excellent small plate menu and super friendly staff. The restaurant menu looked great but pricey.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower did not have enough pressure and could not be adjusted. There was no fridge or microwave which was disappointing. The room was dark and needs more lighting. We thought it was very expensive. Even their restaurant prices were outrageous.

We loved our stay at Hatchet, even without AC. Beds were very comfortable and it was quiet.

Visually it's everything you would want. But it was hot when we were there and there is no air conditioning nor a refrigerator in your room. The only option is to have the windows open with the shades up. Who wants to lay there with everyone walking by looking at you. There was a box fan but even on low it sounded like a 747. The breakfast room was wonderful with great food and friendly staff in a rustic log cabin design. From my seat I could see the Tetons. We chose this hotel trying to escape the outrageous hotel prices of Jackson. Jackson is now Branson on steroids!

The room was clean, beds comfortable, and the outside was pretty with flowers blooming all around. It would have been better if there was a mini fridge and microwave.

Happy with my stay here. Only complain I have is the walls are thin and I can hear people slamming their doors. Other than that I enjoy it and I’d prob stay again if I’m in the area! It was peaceful and the food options were good. Close to grand Teton entrance 8 miles away. The bed was comfy, clean, and perfect for a nice stay

Parking was easy. WiFi was fast. Front office staff was friendly. For the price, an in room refrigerator and microwave would be nice along with included breakfast. Appreciated the rustic decor. More electrical outlets would be nice.

Very nice property & clean. The only issue was there was no mini fridge, microwave or air conditioning. There was a box fan which helped. Would’ve been nice to have at least the mini fridge. We enjoyed our stay & the staff was very friendly & helpful!

I read a few reviews about problems so I made sure to book a suite instead of a standard room. Everything was ok (just ok) EXCEPT: we could clearly hear everything the people in the next unit were doing, including blowing their noses! You would think a log building would be more soundproof. Plus, there was no place to sit comfortably. The trundle bed is so high I almost had to jump to get onto it and of course you need at least a couple of large pillows behind you, there is one short hard chair, and the bed is a typical log frame which is also very high. It was a challenge just to find a place to sit to tie my shoes. A few other extra little touches would also make a big difference, like a hook or 2 in the bathroom. So bottom line, I would not return. Definitely not worth the price. One positive was the food and service at the on site restaurant.

Hatchet Resort is an absolute gem. It features log cabin style rooms that are beautiful and comfortable. Convenient onsite Sinclair fueling station, and two restaurants. Hatchet is a very clean and well maintained property, with plenty of area to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. They also have a well trained, pleasant, and courteous staff.

A true log cabin motel. Well maintained. Our closest thing to glamping. Two places to eat with bar service. Food was very good and food staff was very attentive and friendly. Front desk was another story. Lady at front desk was not customer friendly or helpful. Had tv remote issue and was told to use buttons on tv. No attempt to correct problem. Almost rude. Same attitude to person before me asking for coffee maker. She needs to remember who pays here!!!

They told us they overbooked our room 4 hours before check in so we had nowhere to stay in Yellowstone last minute. There was no service in the parks so we could not book anything new. We ended up staying the second night and the room was incredibly small. You cannot control your own temperature in the room and the heat was blasting. The vents must have never been cleaned because I woke up with a runny nose and a cough. Does not matter who you talk to on the phone, they’re all incredibly rude. Do not stay here. Restaurant was great. Come here to eat. Then leave immediately!!!!

When we showed up with our four person party we were told that they had overbooked the room that we had booked so they put us into a room with a queen and a twin sofa bed, no discussion or reimbursement. Aside from being given the run around and a room that did less sleeping space than our reserved room, the rooms were nice and the grounds were excellent.

I booked for two nights when I checked in I did not know the condition of my dorm room no heat had to climb stairs on the back of the A frame it wasn't even a cabin. Checked out the next day and asked for a refund for the second night was told he would tell the Manager and they would contact me. Needless to say no one has contacted me.

Well first, don't bother getting there even one minute early... You will be told that checkin is at 4 PM - and not a minute earlier, even if your room has been cleaned and ready at 1 pm (I checked). It was rediculuos. There were 6 or 7 of us just waiting until the woman behind the desk would even check us in. Also, my room had very dirty carpets that were way overdue for cleaning. Plus, my room had ants everywhere! Certainly not worth the nearly $300.00 per night to stay there. Check around, and you should find cleaner / cheaper accommodations.

This was the perfect property for a stay over between Teton NP and Yellowstone, for our family. Very comfortable bedding and loved the rustic architecture! Staff from check in to breakfast servers were all fantastic and efficient. Would definitely recommend Hatchet Resort!

I have stayed here many times over the years as I've traveled in the parks and always enjoy it. This time seemed a little impersonal. Gentleman who checked me in had no personality and hardly spoke to me at all. Wait staff at restaurant were nice but also did not engage with me at all. I felt almost invisible which is not a nice feeling. Also, wish they had refrigerators in rooms. Will try again next time I travel in that area and hope it's better.

The manager was very grumpy! The restaurant was fine.place was nice except for the check in🙄

This place is a hidden gem. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived late, but was still able to order food from the bar to take to our rooms. We had breakfast in the restaurant and really enjoyed it. If this place is anywhere on your route, you should consider staying.

Enjoyed our stay! Convenient to so many Grand Teton beautiful hikes and Jackson Hole.

We love the location of the Hatchet Resort. It’s clean, comfortable and reasonable. It’s our choice when visiting the Tetons.

Great location to visit The Grand Teton National Park and Yellow national Park

The food in the restaurants for breakfast and lunch were excellent.

I loved the property and room. The food was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the servers were perhaps understaffed but once they knew we were done with our dinner it took about 22 minutes for her to complete our check out. 15 minutes to bring the check, another 7 at least to bring back our card. Maybe I'm a Karen, but it felt like she neglected us while serving everyone else and engaging in conversations. Just get us checked out please, it's the last and easiest step of the process.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hatchet! All of the staff was very friendly. The food at the restaurants onsite was AMAZING, probably the best food we ate during our whole trip! We were a little worried about no AC but they provide a fan and with the windows open it was a little chilly when we woke up. Beds were comfy, atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay there again!

Our room was full of mosquitos upon arrival and when we asked the front desk if they had anything we could spray to get rid of them their response was “it is the wilderness, get used to it)! What an attitude. We drove to another store and purchased bug spray and fumigated the room. In addition, they had a rehearsal and wedding during our stay and it was very noisy. They also delayed serving dinner the night of the rehearsal and closed the restaurant the night of the wedding and we were forced to drive 30 minutes to eat dinner. Not a pleasant stay!

Property was fabulous. Easy check in. Their restaurant (Whetstone) needed to be a bit more prepared for the amount of guests coming in. Maybe short staffed, who knows, but they all were friendly and the food was FABULOUS!!

Check in was easy and it's a very cute property. It's literally the only thing around so having to eat at the restaurant on the property was good but expensive. After 7pm the mosquitos were horrid so don't plan to be outside. The bathroom shower was a great size and updated. Just keep in mind there is NO air conditioning. They provide a fan which was our only savior but still very stuffy.

Second year coming to stay at the hatchet. Last year was great, good food friendly service, staff went out of their way. This year we made the trip again just to stay again. We had NO issues with the room, its a basic loog cabin room, wifi and 2 beds, bathroom with shower only, not sure why they charge 300 a night though. The issues were at the Wetstone restaurant on the property. Bad service, the food was so so and the manager was more worried about socializing with friends that came in than the other dinners.

The Hatchet Resort in Moran, Wyoming is full of history and character. Our room was clean and comfortable, though a bit dated, which added to the rustic charm of the place. The highlight of our stay was definitely the Wetstone Restaurant—the staff was absolutely superb, and the food was excellent. A memorable stop we would recommend to others visiting the area!
