The staff were all super nice! The grounds were clean and the shuttle to the beach was short and nice. There are 2 pools only, and only 1 is heated. The other has a way overheated spa. Food was fine- had some worse at restaurants in town. You cannot walk to any beach, need to shuttle. No other amenities at the Marina resort. You can shuttle to the other El Cid resorts for their pools and beach. Unsure of any other amenities at those. Red truck, polominas and taxis are readily available and the bell hops are of Great help with any needs! They do try to rope you into the timeshare gig, but they aren’t super pressured! We did decide to go into the VIP room, drink some drinks and save our cc for purchases we could charge to the room. We also spoke with the timeshare folks just outside and set up our 90 min “lecture”- haha. We got free WiFi, $49/day/pp all inclusive, $34 spa/pp for a massage, city tour for 2, and free taxi to airport. All for having breakfast and listening to the timeshare info. We set our 90 minute timer and forced an end to the “tour”. Went back to finish up with the “managers” and was all done in Under 2 hours. We weren’t interested and didn’t beat around the bush. They definitely weren’t as high pressured as we’ve sat through before!

A great stay didn’t have any issues just read small print. They charge $250 pesos ($14 approximately) when you arrive as a fee for internet and parking and is not optional. Other than that pleasant stay. Nice and clean.

First time to Mazatlan, and we were so glad we changed our reservations to this hotel (Marina)! Things to know: Do we recommend? Absolutely! Package? Elite All-Inclusive. Did we tip throughout the stay? Absolutely! Number of days: 4 Nights Best: #1: Service (phenomenal) #2: Property Grounds (stunning) #3: Amenities (everything) #4: Private Beach, Jacuzzi, and Pools #5: a la carte Menu Items (very tasty) #6: Drinks will get you buzzed #7: Very clean, lots of staff #8: Room Service (elite all-inclusive has free coffee, soda, juice, bottled water, alcoholic beverages, food for delivery) #9: 9ft-Deep Pool (unheated): slides, waterfalls, caves, rocks for jumping #10: Regular pool (heated) has swim-up bar #11: Plenty of loungers/seating/tables at pools #12: Quiet enough to relax Not the best: #1: Location is north of the main town #2: Property is older #3: Most rooms do not face the ocean front #4: Most rooms do not have balconies as-shown in the property photos #5: Buffet selection is smaller than the larger resorts #6: There are time-share presentation requests #7: Only two restaurants, but also 3 snack bars. The room was very clean and the food was very good, though I would not pay for the upcharged menu items. The breakfast buffet was my favorite- very fresh and lots of options. The drinks were flowing at the pool bars, though not very strong and often very sweet. Drinks in the restaurants were okay, though again, some alcohols were an upcharge (ex. Kahlua). For the money, you cannot beat it.

En general el complejo es bueno lo malo que las mucamas tocaban la puerta les contestábamos que estábamos ahí y aún así abrían y serían entrar a la habitación lo cual fue demasiado incómodo, los dos días hisieron lo mismo y no nos pareció correcto por qué un teniendo el cartelón de NO MOLESTAR rodaban y abrían las puertas

Beautiful, clean and safe with wonderful staff and great amenities. Beautiful pools. You have a choice of the more shallow, warm pool for activities and kids and a deeper quiet unheated pool. The gym was so nice with great variety of equipment. Grounds were immaculate, rooms clean and well appointed. Every room has a fabulous view with great balconies with comfortable furniture to hang out and enjoy the view. Lobby was open and beautifully furnished. Every staff member we had interaction with was so friendly and responsive to our needs. Wish there was were more price conscience food options, like pre made sandwiches or salads. The local market is only good for booze, Doritos and water. No tortilla chips, salsa, eggs, creamer, milk, butter, etc. The staff is really unfriendly as well. Got there one morning right at 9 when it was supposed to open. The door was still locked and the man inside just looked at me and shook his head "no". I looked at my watch which indicated it was 9, but they made no effort to let me in. They never once smiled, said thank you and never seemed to really care if i spent my money there or not. The other shops by the marina had friendly staff, nice options (if a bit expensive).

The staff was so amazing about making sure everything was handled for us. My room was cleaned everyday. Wait staff at the pools and restaurants were always very considerate. Property was always clean and well maintained. Would fully recommend.

NO FREE WI-FI. Unfortunately, phone reception in the hotel is horrible. The only option you have is to buy their Wi-Fi. It’s $12 dollars per phone, per day. In our case it was 11 of us in 4 rooms for 4 days. That added to $528 dollars just on Wi-Fi. They get 3 stars for that ridiculousness.

There are 3 nightclubs/after hours clubs near El CID Marina-which means they open late on the weekends and stay open late. If you are in building D or any other buildings closer to the ocean you will hear the nightclubs on the weekend. That is a given. Bring earplugs. The cleaning staff were lovely and friendly-their hours for cleaning the room were super random so be forewarned. We were often gone for the day and would come back in the late afternoon to find the cleaning staff either still in our room or the room had not been started yet. The front end staff (bellboys and front desk staff) in the entrance area were not friendly at all. Out of the two weeks we stayed there we were greeted upon our return to the resort exactly once. Out of probably 3 to 5 outings per day for 14 days. If you have not opted in to the all inclusive you will probably have at least one server tell you that you need to pay cash for either a meal or a drink at one of the bar areas. This place is cashless-set up a credit with the front desk and don’t hand over any cash. The resort is apparently the nicest of the El CID resorts but is in need of updating/refurbishment. It is also a very long way from the Malecon and Centro so if that is the area you are interested in you will either be spending money on Uber and taxis or taking some extremely long walks.

Nos encantó el todo el incluído, sin embargo las habitaciones ya están un poco obsoletas en cuanto a declaración, le pongo 4 estrellitas porque casi no tiene buena visibilidad de los atardeceres pero de ahí en más el personal es muy amable y es un hotel tranquilo. Los restaurantes y la comida es muy rica.

El hotel es muy pintoresco aunque por dentro si se le notan los años. Si necesita ser renovado por dentro, luce viejo aunque las habitaciones son muy amplias y las vistas que tiene muy lindas.

Excelente todo el personal, las albercas, los salvavidas, las camareras todo bello hermosos. Malo en las ventanas de los balcones se pueden habrier y caer al vacío los niños . Me hospede en la 427 y tiene ventanas pegadas al piso sin protección y llevo un menor de 5 años que por curiosidad logro quitarle el seguro y podía caer desde el 4to piso al balcón de la habitación de abajo. Muy peligrosas las ventanas . Cambiaría por unas ventanas selladas sin opciones a qué los pequeños puedan quitar el seguro y caer al vacío.

Me hospede en la 427 y tiene ventanas pegadas al piso sin protección y llevo un menor de 5 años que por curiosidad logro quitarle el seguro y podía caer desde el 4to piso al balcón de la habitación de abajo. Muy peligrosas las ventanas . Cambiaría por unas ventanas selladas sin opciones a qué los pequeños puedan quitar el seguro y caer al vacío.

El servicio de los meseros MUY malo, con desgana y tenías casi que regarles para que te atendieran. En una cena tuve yo que levantarme a buscar mi bebida porque en 30 minutos no pasó nadie a atenderme. Así también en el desayuno. El servicio de los bellboys y recepción bueno y gentil. Se me hace de muy mal gusto que te cobren, después de lo que pagas por la habitaicón, por el uso de internet, estacionamiento (aunque no lleves coche) y gimnasio, aunque no lo utilices tampoco.

We were met at the airport by fun El Cid staff providing taxi, some tour discounts, a few other discounts, and a breakfast invitation. The breakfast invitation turned out to be an appealing review by a very nice woman of the properties, followed by a request for 120,000 USD on the spot for membership. We explained we would never do that without a comprehensive deep dive into what we were buying. Should have ended there but followed by an extreme and confrontational hard sell by a condescending manager. Last straw—snarky ethics remark. When we cut that off, manager #3 appeared and we left pronto. Unfortunately, that set the mood for the remaining stay. Recommendation: ignore non-prearranged hotel transportations. We ate one meal there and were disappointed. Shrimp dish arrived cold. We sent it back to be nuked and it returned slightly less cold. We came for the eclipse and did a great deal of touring of Old Town and Durango. There are terrific surrounding restaurants, guided tours (BTW the concierge at Ed Cid was excellent), and Old Town is fabulous. Regarding the room: Inadequate lighting and all bulbs were 6500 K fluorescents. So,unromantic 1980s vintage night ambience. Cute with daylight, admittedly. Coffee in room was extra, internet $10 daily per device and too slow to be practical. Also very loud, intrusive, and mood dampening music affecting all units from 6:00 to about 10:00 Friday through Monday. Had high expectations, but last El Cid stay for us.

Our stay at El Cid Marina Beach hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff are all so pleasant and attentive. The staff is all amazing, helpful, and kind. I've never experienced comparable service. The resort itself was fantastic. Being able to take the water taxi over to the beach was great. Beach was beautiful and peaceful. In our week there, we barely left the beach. For us the highlight of the trip was seeing the total eclipse from our balcony. Could not have asked for anything more. We (husband, myself, and twin teenage daughters) loved everything and girls want to know when we can go back. Highly recommend!

The staff was amazing. It really made our stay excellent. Luis at breakfast every morning was an amazing server. Diane in the Concierge lounge was so helpful. Jesus at the shuttle was always so welcoming and knowledgeable. We loved the open air style of the resort, no huge buildings blocking our view. The Marina hotel was so great. We cannot wait to come back.

First time in Mazatlán. This property is quite far from the Malecón , Main Street. I would not recommend based on location. Food and drinks are NOT good. Do not recommend , I regret purchasing the all inclusive. Staff is rude , not what I’m use to as far as Mexican hospitality. They do offer a private beach via a water taxi which was pleasant . Beds are hard and uncomfortable. I wouldn’t stay at this property again .

This hotel is away from the busy part of the city. It has a private beach in which you take the hotel's water taxi. The beach's breeze and perfect temp water made the day enjoyable even though it was very hot and muggy elsewhere. The pools are very nice. You can take the hotel's shuttle to their other two hotels which is in the middle of the city. Everyone who works there is super friendly and nice.

They provide free shuttle services to the other El Cid hotels, which saves you some cash. We felt safe at the hotel and didn't have any issues. Most of the employees speak English, and they are very accommodating. We will definitely go back to this location.

Nos encantó el todo el incluído, sin embargo las habitaciones ya están un poco obsoletas en cuanto a declaración, le pongo 4 estrellitas porque casi no tiene buena visibilidad de los atardeceres pero de ahí en más el personal es muy amable y es un hotel tranquilo. Los restaurantes y la comida es muy rica.

The property is further then it seems from Historic Downtown, and from El Malecon. It took us 45 minutes to get to those places one way mainly due to Traffic. Similarly, if you get the all inclusive package they have restaurants that require reservation. My family and I tried to get a reservation for one of their restaurants and they did not have any for two days! However, the Marina restaurant (that did not require reservation) did have good food, buffet style all the time.

Overall the place was good. 9 out of 10 service workers were friendly and kind, area is well maintained including landscaping and room. Food is not good, they also serve the same food everyday. They do not have real Mexican food. I would compare their food to USA Taco Bell which is not authentic at all but only to get people full. We had all inclusive during our stay but wasn’t able to make reservations for dinner, this is probably because they would rather reserve those who pay cash before those who paid for all inclusive. Might be one of the ways to make extra money. Our resort room was at the end which means we needed to catch a golf cart every time. When purchasing on Expedia room shows nice balcony but our room did not have one. Had to pay for room service even though we had all inclusive, close can beers were also not including and needed to pay. You do have access to others CID hotels but we did not have a change to experience them however this one suppose to be the best one out of the other 2-3. One small pool had a heater but the bigger one did not, water was super freezing. This is the pool with the slide which was part of the reason why we book this resort for the family. During our stay did not see anyone swimming in the pool with the slide. Been to many resorts in the past but I personally would not stay on this one again.

Excelente staff, comida la mejor en la que he estado en un todo incluido, buenos camarones y el servicio excelente de parte de todos los meseros y asistentes en general. Tiene una playa muy tranquila buena para pasar todo el dia y relajarse, solamente que esta al otro lado de la entrada de la marina, lo cual no es problema ya que el hotel cuenta con servicio de lancha todo el dia para cruzar a la hora que necesites.
Excelente staff, comida la mejor en la que he estado en un todo incluido, buenos camarones y el servicio excelente de parte de todos los meseros y asistentes en general. Tiene una playa muy tranquila buena para pasar todo el dia y relajarse, solamente que esta al otro lado de la entrada de la marina, lo cual no es problema ya que el hotel cuenta con servicio de lancha todo el dia para cruzar a la hora que necesites.

Relaxing and quiet. This is the best El Cid property in Mazatlan if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation. We paid for the all inclusive package. Food was very good. The only thing we found annoying is you had to wait to sign your bill at the end of every meal even though it was already paid for.

Breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner menu for buffet was better than some other days. The Chinese then buffet for one of the days was not favorite but was good either way. As part of the All Inclusive package with El Cid Marina, you get access to all the other El Cid hotels which are easily accessible via shuttle which is great if you want to try other restaurants. Overall service was great except their seems to be low staff at the food bar by the left most pool near the pool with the cave. Service was very slow here and only have 1 person making drinks for everyone. Room was clean and comfy and staff are always available for questions on activities and amenities. Overall would greatly recommend with feedback they have to prepare accordingly with an extra staff member when needed for busier days.

As part of the All Inclusive package with El Cid Marina, you get access to all the other El Cid hotels which are easily accessible via shuttle which is great if you want to try other restaurants. Overall service was great except their seems to be low staff at the food bar by the left most pool near the pool with the cave. Service was very slow here and only have 1 person making drinks for everyone. Room was clean and comfy and staff are always available for questions on activities and amenities. Overall would greatly recommend with feedback they have to prepare accordingly with an extra staff member when needed for busier days.
