Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan Beach Resort - All Inclusive

For a resort of this quality the fact that you have to check towels out every day for use at the pool is very frustrating. This is very frustrating especially when the resort runs out of towels by the afternoon. Guests are also allowed to come out in the morning and leave towels and personal items on pool chairs and then leave for the day basically taking up the majority of the pool chairs and then not even using them! This is very frustrating and allows for towels and chairs to be tied up all day. This is allowed and happens at both locations.

We were looking forward to our stay at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan. It started awkwardly. After checking in, we were told to visit another desk where our bracelets would be activated. This also included being invited to attend a breakfast in a different hotel (Emerald Bay) for a sales pitch. Not the idea of relaxation after a flight. Dining was OK but the drinks felt very watered down. There was a “Banda” on the beach playing music. Unfortunately, they were loud and out of tune. They were more of a nuisance than a picturesque element to our stay. It made watching the sun set unbearable. Getting a place on the beach was also a struggle. There was a single row of palapa for a very big hotel. We had to secure a spot at 6:00 am. This must have been worse for families with children who could not be up at 5:30 to get a spot under the shade. The guests were also not entirely wonderful. There was trash on the beach every day, as well as in the property. People left food in the hallways and it would take hours for it to be picked up. There were a couple of dead roaches every day in the morning in the hallway. The fitness center was also small (less than 80 sq ft) with one treadmill, one bicycle, and some dumbbells. The one in Emerald Bay was better—an actual fitness center—but it involved taking an uber or the not too frequent shuttle between the properties. This was quite inconvenient (and wasn’t clear in the marketing for the hotel). Mazatlan is beautiful. But not this hotel.

Not quite as described. Checkin was chaotic, we had to change rooms after we’d unpacked as our room was promised to someone else the day before we left; we were put in an identical room, literally next door. Swimup bars are advertised on the website - no, those are on the sister property. There are 2 restaurants on site, one in town and one next door (both of those have extra charges and require reservations). The fitness center is a tiny upstairs room which requires reservations. There are better options all around Mazatlan.

Option of two beaches was nice, but too hard to find shade at Emerald Bay. Wished there had been evening entertainment like there is at other all-inclusive resorts.

We enjoyed the location, views, and staff. There were 2 pool areas and 3 spots to eat. There was beach service for drinks and food, LOVELY! (!Gracias RAMON!) They have daily poker games, Bingo, and most days- water aerobics and beach volleyball. The beach bar was open until 1030pm, and rarely was busy that late. We were there during an unexpectedly cold snap, and never used the AC. Many travelers invested in new Mazatlan hoodies from the beach vendors. Transportation was easy. We used open air taxis and Uber to get around easily. Pueblo Bonito is on a nice strip of restaurants and shops if you leave the hotel by foot. Oddly, they do not have a minibar or even a FRIDGE in the rooms, which was a disappointment for an All-inclusive. They also give you a coffee maker in the room with NO coffee making products. ??? Different levels of service are identified by different color wrisbands- blue, orange, brown, and gold. We took advantage of a pool day at the sister property, Emerald Bay. We also went there 1 evening for dinner and drinks at Kelly's. THE STAFF AND SERVERS ARE AMAZING! GRACIAS!! We do recommend bringing a good supply of small bills for tipping, $1s and $5s. Prices on the beach: 12 oysters-150 pesos 15 shrimp- 150 pesos A sarong without sparkles- 180 pesos or 280 pesos with sparkles Mazatlan NFL embroidered cap 250 pesos Massage 30 minutes- 300 pesos Massage 60 minutes - 500 pesos We didn't buy any jewelry or clothing. Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan was a gorgeous resort - the staff went above and beyond, the view from our room was unbelievable. The beach was stunning and the pools were well maintained. The food was overrall very good, Angelos was excellent, the buffet had a good variety, Cilantros for dinner was great - their breakfast hit and miss. I wish our room had a little fridge and a proper coffee maker - that was our only real complaint. Overall a really nice experience - I would not hesitate to come back.

The 4 of us traveled for a short AI family vacation. We stayed 4 nights. I didn’t realize there was a difference staying at PB Mazatlán and PB Emerald Bay. We stayed at PBM, but enjoyed PBEB more. The thing we really didn’t like about PBM were the bands playing on the beach. It was so noisy!! More than one band was playing Banda music on the beach, while the resort was playing music by the pool and guests had their own little speakers. So we honestly spent pool days at PBEB. But, at PBEB the beach wasn’t as fun to swim in bc there were definitely less waves. Another thing, the food was good as long as we stayed away from the buffets. Cilantro’s was nice and so was the Asian type cuisine at the other restaurant. I wish the menus would change nightly. The service everywhere was good. At the pool, some servers were better than others, but no one came by often to clear plates and cups from poolside, so that caused more birds to be picking at plates and therefore more poop around the pool chairs and umbrellas. The shuttle two and from both resorts was very useful. But, the earliest you go was about 10:30 am and the soonest you could get the next shuttle was 4pm. So you’re pretty much stuck at one hotel until the next shuttle, unless you take another form of public transportation. The hotel did have a fishing company come by to see if anyone was interested in fishing. We did the deep sea fishing, at $100 per person and had the BEST day! It was a good trip, but I won’t be back.

If you are going and want to enjoy amenities like a manicure, facial or massage, be aware the these are a shuttle bus or taxi ride to Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. Shuttle is of course free and a taxi is standard taxi charge. I gave up on the manicure, but did have a great couples spa experience. Husband had the deep tissue massage and I had the facial, together in the same room. Mazatlán was great, we took the bus to central Mazatlán to experience the market. I worked great and we had a great time. We felt safe. The resort staff was excellent, remembering your names at the pool bar and the buffet restaurant. I love this resort and location, but felt pushed to visit and use Emerald Bay which I do not prefer. The room was musty and humid even with the requested provision of a dehumidifier, I thought that was air conditionings job, however that was not my profession.

El área de playa del hotel tenía basura de cigarros, vasos, etc. No cuentan con leche deslactosada en ninguno de los restaurantes. Coincidió que los días de mis estancia estaban haciendo adecuaciones con maquinaria en su estacionamiento y el ruido que hacían para romper el piso empezaba desde las 9 am. Desde que llegas te avisan que no está permitido contratar banda en la playa, lo que es una tristeza porque es uno de los principales atractivos de las playas de Mazatlán. No cuentan con división de alberca para adultos y para familias con niños.

All Inclusive Resort. Food and drinks included. Two pools and nearby plenty of different attractions. Definitely Worth It!

Everything was fantastic including ALL the staff, all the servers and everyone at the front desk. Our room was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and high-quality amenities, making for an excellent night's sleep. The beach is excellent. We ate at the onsite Angelo's Restaurant 3 times because the food and service are phenomenal!

I found a dead cockroach in the bathroom. The first day I stayed.

The staff here are exceptional. This is our second time we have been to this resort. Its very central to activities outside. We look forward to trying other peublo bonito resorts. Travelling with someone who has ocd I can also say it is extremely clean as well.

The pool was dirty, it had a ring of what looked like grease. The power went out and it took them all night to get my AC to work again. It got hot. The room smelled, I can’t describe it. But almost like wet clothes. It was nasty. I had to be spraying to get the smell to subside.

After reading the reviews I had high expectations. Rooms were ok, food was mediocre at that. The same buffet menu for breakfast, not a big selection. At times, the pool looked dirty and murky in the afternoons. For the money, think I rather stay elsewhere.

La atención del personal deja mucho que desear, son groseros, te hacen sentir incomodo, sólo se pueden rescatar a dos elementos que si fueron amables. La comida nos hizo daño, nos ocasionó diarrea, aparte de que no hay muchas opciones. Nos encontramos cucarachas en la habitación, al hacer la limpieza no dejaban agua, y no cambiaban las sábanas de la cama. El baño estaba mal, el agua de la regadera se salía del baño hacía el pasillo del cuarto, mal construido. Fuimos al otro hotel y curiosamente la atención fue mejor, la comida más rica y las instalaciones mejor cuidadas. Es muy molesto que los vendedores te están hostigando todo el tiempo para adquirir sus tiempos compartidos. Desgraciadamente caímos en su juego, adquirimos uno, pero al leer después detalladamente el contrato, hemos decidido cancelar; nos arrepentimos por que perdimos 5 horas de nuestro tiempo de descanso sentados en una silla dura escuchando a un señor que se se retiraba mucho a fumar, y llegaba apestoso a la mesa; nos dieron un desayuno pobre, malísimo. En resumen nos vamos muy decepcionados de todo, no nos quedaron ganas de volver jamás.

Es un hotel excelente limpio súper atendidos, super amabilidad de todo el personal y sobretodo deliciosa comida!!! No necesitas salir para nada es un lugar para descansar . Playa super hermosa y limpia

Good beach, easy for children to play in the waves. Nobody takes responsibility for cleaning garbage.

Room was very clean and beautiful. Resort well kept, and the beach was cleaned well after the big waves had brought in trash from the weather. Staff is always on top of everything. Buffet was good, the waiters like Freddy, Gonzalo and Enrique always making sure one has coffee and juice. Cilantros was lovely as well, Jose was wonderful.

Our room was very clean. We noticed that we were later in the day for cleaning our room (not a huge deal). Our view was beautiful of both the ocean and pool area and allowed us to have the Mexican vibe. One thing we really wish our room had was a small table top fridge. It was very difficult keeping our water cold. And actually having coffee, not just the pot. Would we come back again? Yes.

We were upgraded and had a wonderful room. Only issue was the street noise outside the bedroom. Great food and amenities.

I was very disappointed with this Pueblo Bonito. Check in was great. The first day in our room was fine, the 2nd day the water in the shower was so hot it burned you. The next 5 days we had not hot water. The water was lukewarm, we let it go the first day thinking it was a busy time everyone getting ready to dinner. The next day i t continued, we called maintenance he came and said we just needed to let the water run. We explained to him we had let it run for 2 showers and still no hot water. He told us it was fine and to just let it run. We also let him know that there was a leak from the ceiling in the restroom leaving a puddle on the floor. He told us it was fine that it was just the condensation. We had to leave a towel on the floor for the rest of our trip to prevent us slipping. The food and service at Cilantros was GREAT. The buffet was horrible with the exception to the omelet station in the morning. The location was great you had more food options with in walking distance. Overall we were not happy with our stay here.

we had a junior suite, with a wonderful ocean view. The bed was a little hard the pillows a little lumpy. But that was my only complaint. Staff was wonderful, kind, attentive. I will always return to the Pueblo bonito muchas gracias

The view was exactly as the pictures shown for booking! We loved it and will plan another trip to the resort! Everyone was super nice and made you feel so welcomed!

Having stayed at and enjoyed other Pueblo Bonito properties (Emerald Bay, Pacifica, and Rosé), my expectations were set for their usual standard of service. This original Mazatlan property fell shockingly short. Check-in was efficient and hassle-free, which was a promising start. Unfortunately, this was the high point of the service experience.The so-called "luxury” rooms" lacked basic amenities: no microwave, no refrigerator, no glassware, no coffee cups and no kitchenette. Only two sets of towels were provided for a suite. There was an old, worn coffee-maker WITHOUT coffee or complements. The television in the main living area was completely non-functional and emitted a horrible static hiss, requiring a full replacement. To add to the frustration, sections of the flooring in the den were visibly not clean. Service Failures and Lack of Attention to Detail were recurrent. We requested a refrigerator, and one arrived in an appalling state—filthy both inside and out. Room Svc did not included delivery. There was a $4 charge each time. Orders arrived without flatware or napkins: had to ask for these often. The staff gave conflicting answers to basic questions re basic svcs and amenities. Poor training was evident. Buyer beware !!

I enjoy my time at pueblo Bonita Mazatlan. I got the all inclusive package. The food was good. My room had a great view of the beach and pool. However, the water in the shower was not hot and the bed was hard.

The Good: Staff was excellent, rooms/beds were comfortable (Ocean Front - Jr Suite - 5th floor), location, view and beach were great. We have been going to Mexico for 20 years and I thought the hotel and accommodations met our expectations. They delivered a desert for our anniversary, which I thought was awesome - THANK YOU. The staff was excellent at all levels, but the front desk could use a boost with customer service, but certainly not a negative.. The food choice was limited but good. The Bad: No refrigerator in room. Water pressure changed day to day, but not a major issue. All Inclusive usually means everything, the best meals (Steak/Lobster) cost extra ($50 more), which I had 4 times. Angelo's restaurant also charged more for the premier meals. My biggest complaint is this is the first hotel that I have stayed at where you need to buy coffee for the room. The coffee pot is supplied, but you pay $1.50 daily for coffee packets after one free packet. The money is not my issue as I tipped over $300 to the awesome staff but increase the daily rate by $2 and supply coffee in the room as it comes across as nickel/dime treatment. Final - Would I stay again - Yes, but the nickel/dime left a bad taste in my mouth. All Inclusive was still good as the cocktails flowed for 9 days. I would still consider this hotel one of the best in Mazatlan, Mexico.

El hotel tiene un buen servicio, sin embargo, las personas que te quieren vender la membresía te hacen pasar una terrible experiencia, te hacen perder mucho tiempo, y después terminan muy molestos, y eso hace tener una mala experiencia del viaje, ya que todos los días tienes que verlos.

The staff are the best!

This hotel is very nice and clean ,the service is excellent since you arrive, the waiters area always checking to see if we need anything, we love the Sunday brunch that they have and the Italian restaurant

There is a huge benefit for being an Expedia gold vip at this property. We got an amazing room upgrade. The service was wonderful all around and the property and room is very clean. There are a couple of things that could use improvement. The check in and check out process took a long time waiting in line. I think they could use one more station there. Although they provide transportation to their sister property at emerald bay, this location does not have many dining options on site. The beach and location was fantastic and kid friendly. Only two nights stayed and we got tired of eating at the same places and lack of food variety. Still rather have the beach location over the food options though. All employees are so welcoming and friendly.

We loved the beach and that there was areas to sit down. Would stay again next time we come :)

Very nice location, beautiful sunsets

We had a twelve day stay and were happy with our choice. The staff are all incredibly friendly and the resort is in a good location. If you want to be closer to old town then I recommend staying at the downtown resort otherwise you can take a taxi into town for around 250 pesos.

The property was beautiful and small so it was easy to get around! The staff was wonderful! The food was outstanding and there was lots of variety! Our room was amazing! The area around the resort felt safe- safe enough that we walked to the Catholic Church nearby! It was great having access to Emerald Bay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to others!!!

Ubicacion privilegiada, la playa esta super planita en esa zona, cero peligrosa. Los restaurantes tienen poca variedad, y no hay cena buffet, a la carta se tardan demasiado igual que el room service, para ser todo incluido te limitan mucho en las cantidades que puedes pedir, tienes que estar a la vuelta y vuelta por bebidas y son vasos super chiquitos. El bar cierra a las 10 igual que los restaurantes, si quieres seguir tomando algo tienes que pedir room service que tiene costo adicional y solo te pueden llevar dos bebidas por habitacion. los meseros son amables, pero las chicas que te reciben en los restaurantes son super malacarientas. El hotel esta bonito, las instaciones son lindas y limpias, pero yo no volveria.

This was by far the best all inclusive we have ever stayed at! The food was excellent every single meal, my personal favorites were the sushi, chips guac and pico, and breakfast at Cilantros! The property is very well maintained and clean. The ocean was beautiful, it was actually blue, not murky brown like some other places we have stayed. But better than any of that was the staff!!! They all go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. We will be back to Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán for sure!

Todo excelente en verdad, pero eso de cerrar restaurantes, los tiempos de espera para entrar a un restaurante eran demasiado largos. Literalmente fue el unico pero o mal detalle
