Sandman Hotel Penticton

Elevator is not working properly and room key is not working either.

The wallpaper was peeling and had been taped with green tape, the sink was chipped and rusty, the phone didn’t work at all. Needs updating. Lighting is very poor. Buttons on the elevator lose or broken. Ate at the Bar one and was not impressed only people in there and service was poor and when food came food was Lukewarm

No A/C in gym. Weight machine cabels were broken. Stationary bike was very old and partially broken. A/C unit in room very close to the bed, while getting off the bed hit the sharp edge on my thigh and got 3 inches long laceration. Building is very old. Kitchen faucet was leaking. Old style toilet with small bowl. Kitchen size is very good. Pool and hot tub were good.

Getting to the room was confusing, like going through a maze, pool hot tub not open until 10:00am very inconvenient with a 11:00am check out? Could use improved signage and to traffic direction.

There was construction work going on in the floor above the room. The elevator creaked and jerked as if there was something seriously wrong with it.

Clean rooms, clean atrium pool and hot tub. Friendly staff. Great stay!

The hotel has great amenities and the services from Cam were outstanding. It has a good swimming pool and great courts for pickleball and hockey 😊

Great spot and lovely hot tub and pool area especially with the lighting at night it was awesome. Super short skip to the beach and restaurants as well !

Loved the hot tub and pool things were very clean and staff was incredibly generous.

Dirty toilet upon arrival

Room was dirty. Popcorn on the floor. Gum in the peep hole. House cleaning didn’t take out the garbage, replace the dirty towels or make the beds. Disappointed.

Spotless well equiped room helpful courteous staff

The towels, bed sheets were very soft and comfortable.Beds were also comfortable. Cleanliness of both rooms and public areas was superb. Overall, a pleasant stay.

This property needs to be renovated. Not very clean and moldy bathrooms.

Room was by the pool and it was very noisy, otherwise room was excellently clean, whoever cleans the rooms should get recognized.

Overall the price we paid was a lot for what we got. The property is in need of a complete overhaul. The buttons in the elevator didn't work properly, the bathrooms smelled like pee, stains on the walls. The beds however were extremely comfortable.

Room was not clean hairs were on the washroom counter and room had white stains on carpet and the overall cleanliness was not up to standard. I have stayed at numerous sandman hotels around the country and this was probably the worst I have stayed in.

The staff is excellent. The duvet on one of the beds was stained. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay

Room was clean and spacious. Big drawback in the room was there was not any mirror in the room. There was just one mirror in the bathroom.

The room was small, few available outlets, ac fan very noisy. WiFi was fast

room was near the elevator which was super old and very loud when opening and closing. Was extremely irritating.

Rooms facing the pool are very noisy. Would not recommend based on that alone. Rooms clean and friendly staff though.

My room was clean and quiet, and the bed was really comfortable. I had a good sleep. The A/C was noisy but adjustments could be made to decrease the noise. The whole hotel is dated and needs upgrades (including elevator). More plug ins are also needed in more convenient spots. No plug in for the bathroom, which was odd considering they provided a hair dryer.

Bad Wifi connection and very old Tv in the room.

Hotel is old and showing it. Beds were new though and very comfortable. Not enough plug ins and usb ports in the room. All in all a decent stay but the hotel could use a makeover

Clean, and modern enough. AC unit is loud and cannot be turned down to low. Windows do not open. Was hard to sleep. Maybe it was broken or just my room, but fyi.

The room was clean. The bed isn’t super comfortable. And the noise through the hallways and in the surrounding rooms was absolutely insane. No noise reduction present at all. Sounded like the people staying next door and above us were in the same room as us.

We unfortunately had an issue that i feel could have been resolved better. Intitially the keys we were provided did not work (3 times of going back to lobby). We were told that the card reader was malfunctioning so we couldn't stay in the room we booked and there were no other king rooms available. After some back and forth with my husband and front desk they said they could transfer us to a two double room or queen with kitchenette. Neither of these fully satisfied our needs and we expressed that. Our inconvenience of going back and forth multiple times and not being able to stay in the room we originally booked, was not really given much compassion or urgency. They only had one person on shift so could not come to the room and try to get it working either. Ultimately we switched rooms, but were told to go through Expedia for some sort of reimbursement. And then the front desk found us and said she got a key working (this was the solution we were hoping they would have tried earlier) so we agreed to move back to the King Room. Overall our stay was alright after that. But expedia could not reach the hotel to confirm any refund and gave us a credit for future travel. This again made us feel the Sandman was not trying to be very accommodating and they coukd have treated the issue better.

Staff were very friendly and their response time for request, such as extra towels, was quick.

The Sandman Hotel in Penticton was a delightful surprise. The staff were friendly, professional and kind. The amenities were plentiful, including a large pool and jacuzzi in a beautiful atrium, as well as a gym and ample lounges for quiet reflection and relaxation. The room was clean and well appointed with a fridge, delicious coffee and a variety of teas available. Coffee was also served in the lobby all morning. Perhaps it was the time of year I was there (September), but it was remarkably quiet, which I loved. There were restaurants nearby and Penticton is very walkable. I walked from one end of Penticton to the other (Okanagan Lake Beach to Skaha Lake Beach) and back. Thank you to the staff at Sandman Hotel for a delightful and wonderful experience.

Wonderful friendly staff. Front desk was always helpful. 24 hour Denny’s onsite was convenient Only complaint was recurring issues with our room key repeatedly failing and requiring us to visit at the front desk for replacements.

Staff were very friendly and the manager Lynn D was very helpful with parking, area restaurants and recommendations. Will definitely stay there again!

I stayed two nights at the Sandman Hotel. Unfortunately, the housekeeping service was very poor—unfriendly staff and the room had an unpleasant smell, which made the stay uncomfortable. However, the front desk staff provided excellent and friendly service, which was the best part of my experience. Overall, while the customer service at the front office was positive, the condition of the room and housekeeping needs significant improvement.

Staff originally placed us in the wrong room, keys didnt work once the room issue was corrected. We extended our stay and they misplaced our reservation and tried to check us out. Offered no deals or compensation to make up for the many mistakes.

Having car problems and they were nice enough to give us late check out and hold room in case we had to stay another day. Girls at front desk so nice.

Close to the Events Center for our concert. Great amenities in the hotel for kids to play and swim.

Central to the water front area, we didn’t need our car as we could walk to food, amenities, and even hikes. The pool was a nice break from the heat & kept the kid super happy.

Easy walk to the beach.

We went up for a couple days of wine tasting and just wanted somewhere to rest. Exactly what we were looking for. Clean, quiet, staff is fantastic. Walk to the beach or to the town center

The location was perfect, it was walking distance to the lake and to Main Street, which is the main strip where the majority of the stores are located. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel

Property was close enough to lake and restaurants to walk. Room and property were adequate.

The property is centrally located, easy walking distance to Okanagan beach, the event center, the river cruise and other activities. The rooms are clean and did not hear noise from other rooms which is an appreciated bonus. The pool was well used, although I just swam in the lake. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff is friendly. There is lots of parking. The hotel has a Bar One and Denny's. The room was comfortable for a solo traveller. Walkable to lake and downtown shops and restaurants. Good central location for a stay in Penticton.

Rooms clean but smelled like an old smoking room, nice blackout curtains , food in Dennys was awesome

A little dated and squeaky, but overall very good. Denny’s on site open 24 hours on weekends is great. We were travelling from Calgary and enjoying the number 3 Drive but got tired and checked in online and arrived 8:30 pm and still got the Hottub and pool which were so nice after the long day and drive and exploring

Prebooked based on their advertising- 4 overpriced nights.Very large floors so lots of walking. One old elevator for entire building. Sounds sketchy! Bed was comfy. Room cramped. No USB and difficult to access plugs to charge phones. Tiny shallow tub. One exit door didn't unlock from the inside properly and multiple people were unable to get out. Third day the pool was drained due to issues . Dennys also shut down same day due to electrical issues. Bar was closed early or not open on August long weekend Sunday night. Front desk staff were defensive about it instead of feeling for customer. The flower baskets were wilted and dying. There's just a decaying vibe here Look elsewhere

There is a bar on the property that is cold unwelcoming and run by someone who barely speaks English and has no idea of what is going on in the town. Very cold expensive and unwelcoming. A reason for us not to book this hotel again.

The amenities are nice. Wish the restaurant was open later. It would be nice to have a night cap after the hot tub room is closed at 10 PM.

Food is great Especially Wing night on thursday
