Tiki Shores Inn & Suites

The hotel is very old and run down, the pool was a milky color and there wasn’t enough parking. The location was excellent. Right across from the beach

The location cannot be beat, it is a 2 minute walk and you are on the beach, or you can opt for the pool which was a 30 second walk from our room. This is an older property but has been recently renovated. Great value and friendly and accommodating staff! The Cambo Beach Grill restaurant onsite was quite good too!

Property was in great location. We had a great patio with bbq that accommodated 6 people. The units were clean but need an upgrade. Small inefficient fridge and very limited dishes, etc. The locking mechanism on our door was very difficult to lock.

We really enjoyed staying here, great location right in the middle of the strip, great suite, some rooms offer a private patio and B.B.Q. which we really enjoyed having. Keyless room access was a nice feature as well. Over all great experience!

Loved the location, so easy to walk to main attractions in Penticton with young kids. The beach was wonderful. Our room was the deluxe 2 bedroom with the patio and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was a nice surprise, until we realized that it was broken. We used the barbeque for dinner one night and the patio was a nice relaxing space. The kids enjoyed the pool. Honestly the room kind of gave me the ick and I'm not that picky - It just didn't feel clean. But the location was so good, I'd probably stay there again.

We had a great room, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a patio with bbq. There was also a beautiful pool.

Excellent location right across from the lake. Very clean. Free and convenient parking. My only complaint was the mattress was sagging in the middle and should be replaced.

I arrived early and had to wait a bit for the room to be ready, but asked about a Laundromat nearby and the staff gave me a free laundry pod to use their guest laundry while I waited. Loved the throwback vibes but still had everything, clean and in good working order. Lots of families there for golf and beach acrivies (right across the street)

There was absolutely NOTHING to like about this property aside from the location. Check in was at 4pm. We arrived at 3:50pm and we had to wait for them to “clean the room”. Room was ready at 4:30pm. Not that big of a deal normally but the room was disgusting and filthy. Toilets were still dirty from the previous stay. Floors throughout hadn’t been washed in god knows how long. Fridge was dirty and had items in it from the previous stay. Cobwebs on the entry way and in corners of the room. It was an EXTREMELY hot day upon arrival and the AC was off. The room was sweltering. We have 3 year old twins and it took HOURS to cool the room as the AC unit (also filthy and full of dust and grime in the vents) hardly worked. Our kids normally go to bed by 8pm and it was well after 10 before the room was cool enough to sleep. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and mattresses looked decades old. I realize this is an older property and 5 star expectations are totally unrealistic but just because a property is old does not mean that it cannot be well kept and clean. The ownership and management here should be ashamed.

The pro's are that Tiki Shores has a great location across from the beach and the front desk staff were very nice. We travel to Penticton every year and needed to try a new hotel that would allow a dog. Unfortunately there were just too many cons. The cleanliness was atrocious. I really wish I took photos. The "freshly cleaned" room had the dirtiest floors ever! Our feet were black so we took some lysol wipes to it. They turned completely black as well, and we only made a small improvement. We wiped the room down and the dirt that came off the surfaces was scary. My nightstand had dried sticky coffee spilled all over it. The toilet had a 2inch black rim around the top of the bowl. The couch had liquid stains and one of our mattresses had a stain as well. We probably did the next guests a service, as the room was probably cleaner than they would have received it. 2days in, one of our toilets had an issue that we told the front desk about. They advised they would send maintenance but nobody came. Luckily we had a 2nd bathroom, so we had 1 useable toilet for the last 2.5days for 4 people. Im sorry Tiki Shores, but something needs to change. We will not be back.

Staff was friendly … mattress needs to be replaced .. black mold in bathroom .. our feet turned black walking on the floor!

Truly a huge disappointment! Our room hadn’t been properly cleaned, used soap with hair left in shower, very shabby condition, dishes & cutlery were not clean. Bed was very lumpy and rips in the sheets.

The room was clean enough but the floors were dirty. I spilled a bit of water and used the hand towel to wipe it up. (There were no paper towels)and the towel was almost black. Had to wear socks. Maybe I should have told the front desk. Anyway, I would stay there again as it was an excellent location. Most the motels on the strip looked old.

Restaurant on site (separately owned) was fabulous though!

Kitchen was equipped to cook all of our meals. Easy check in and it was quiet on the property. Walking distance to restaurants and good location

The rooms that have a patio attatched are a great feature. The young lady checking us in was very friendly. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Bathroom was cramped the way the door opens but that was just a meaningless inconvenience.

Room was clean and large. Had a small kitchen as well. Nothing fancy however fantastic value for the room. Bed was comfortable as well. Shower head had a leak however i reported it and otherwise everything worked well.

This is my second year coming here. I always come after Labour Day weekend so it is deliciously quiet.. I love the pool and closeness to the beach. My only complaint is this time I was in room 204 (or 206?) sorry I can't recall, anyways the king bed was comfortable but the other room had two singles which here horrendously uncomfortable, I mean quite literally the floor was better. It's sad because otherwise I loved that room and would like to see this changed before next year. Fingers crossed. I will absolutely be back nonetheless.

Loved the room! We were in a room at the front. Amazing views on the lake! The room appears to have been upgraded recently. It was really clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was handy. Only downside, the window blinds were damaged and did not close well. With the lights outside, it was not very dark for sleeping. Blackout blinds would be a good addition. Otherwise it was nice and quiet. The location is perfect for enjoying downtown Penticton. Easy walking to the brewery district. Check in was extremely efficient and friendly. Would definitely return!

Great location, but the hotel itself needs a make over. A lot of "home depot" style reno\'s mixed in with old fixtures. TV was small and in a weird spot. Big kitchenette and water pressure is great. The best part about this hotel is the location being right down across from the lake. But I wouldn\'t stay here if I was looking for a nice room. The location is why people stay here. I am past the point of loving hotels that have crazy high rates and don\'t upkeep the property. The front desk girl was super friendly, helpful and awesome.

Room was clean and fairly large for price. Great area, close to beach and lots of resturants. Check in / check out process was very difficult and frustrating. Front desk is only open for a few hours throughout the day so made late check in and early check out very stressfull. Overall would probably not stay here again, but it wasn't awful.

Given wrong door code and no one in office. Towel rack broken in bathroom, beds uncomfortable.

Be aware this property has no front office. If you arrive after 6pm you cannot check-in. There is a phone number written on a paper sign on the unlit office door, but it connects to an answering machine. This is what happened to me. I could not check-in and went to another motel. There was no refund. Tiki said it was Expedia and Expedia said it was Tiki. But I as the customer was stuck with no refund. Note that Tiki, Spanish Villa, Shoreline and Bowmont are all the same owner, so the same applies to all 3. Do not book at these places as they are happy to collect $ from you regardless of whether you are actually able to check-in or not.

I did not have direct contact with any staff, but they were only a text away. They responded right away. Checking out was a breeze.

An extremely economical choice that wowed me with with incredible service. I've never felt so much genuine kindness and friendliness from a hotel before. I never met anyone in person, and I still felt completely taken care of - from the friendly person on the phone, to the online check-in, to daily text messages to ask about my stay, to the goodbye email that offered to send home anything I might have left. The room itself was as economical as the price - small and without much glamour - but it was exactly what was needed. The heating worked without fuss and was silent enough to sleep. The kitchenette was, again, small but completely serviceable for what it needed to be. We'll be staying again next time we're in Penticton.

We got there at 9pm after sister in law had checked us in - inspected our room and got our code. We go to our room and someone was in it. Office closes at 6 and we have our 78yo mom and no room. We called the number on the door of office over and over until someone finally answered. We had to wait outside for a long time until someone called us back and told us to go the the motel next door. They had double booked and the hotel next door The Shores put us in a very dirty room there. Terrible experience!

Lovely staff. Emma went out of her way to make sure we got checked in and even informed us that our room was ready early. Very happy with that!

No in-person check-in after 5pm. Room # & code are messaged to you after you fill in an intake form including picture ID. Try doing that while driving or flying! Not sure what you’re supposed to do if something is wrong upon check-in. At no time are you asked about or provided any information about a pet. Our Expedia filters included ‘pet-friendly’ properties. We checked in well after 6 pm. No one at front desk to advise of a pet. Checkout is 10 am, which is a notification you receive with the message advising of room # & code. No one shows up at the office until 10 am. We were finishing up some breakfast shortly after 10 when someone opens the door to the room. No knock despite a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. The woman (I learned later this was the front desk clerk) was petrified when seeing our little Havanese dog. She slammed the door shut. I packed the car up and went to the office where I was accused of “sneaking a dog in”. If I was going to sneak the dog in we would have left before any staff showed up. I responded by saying how unprofessional and discourteous it was to open a hotel room door without knocking especially with a do not disturb sign out. I was chastised for being in the room past 10 am as if this excused not knocking. How are you supposed to request a later check in when there is no one at the front desk when you arrive or before checkout time??? I would really like to rate this motel higher since it’s a good room and bed.

Close to beach and walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Clean enough and although dated had all amenities we needed.

Location of property was great-right across from the beach, with some great dining options within walking distance. The overall condition of the suite was good and the bed was comfortable, the bedroom clean. The bathroom needs some renovation, especially the bathtub. Check in after hours was easy and Alec was a great help. Overall, a good stay.

NEEDS A DEEP CLEAN! The 2 girls at the front desk were so great - welcoming & happy. I overheard a couple of different conversations with / about other guests & it was obvious these girls were really trying to help. The location is amazing. Cambo restaurant - DELICIOUS. As for the hotel itself, it is run down and very apparent it is not being cared for or any upkeep completed. The outside of the building is dirty (simple power wash of the outside would help a lot I suspect). I did really like the electronic room locks - very convenient! Our room was poorly cleaned (I did request an early check in which they did accommodate so I’m not sure if they rushed because of this). Dirt on floors, cobwebs and bugs on the light fixture in the kitchen, very poorly stocked kitchen (not even metal tongs that can be used on the bbq) and the quality of the bedding and towels was sketchy… sheets so rough to the touch I actually wondered if there was sand in my bed. The sofa bed was insanely uncomfortable and not fit to be used as a bed. No cleaning services provided during your stay - which they were upfront about. But it was super annoying to have to go to the office every time we needed a garbage bag or toilet paper. It just felt like they were very stingy on handing out the supplies. One day during our 5 day stay they actually ran out of towels and said they would deliver them once the laundry was caught up - this never happened. Even ‘clean’ towels appeared dirty.
