Never again. One elevator was out of service the whole time. Which caused big back up at the elevators. The room was so rundown the stick on floor tiles they stuck to the wall were all lifting and coming off. Told the front desk that the room smelled stale she said that there was new carpet. Ma’am please be so for real that carpet was older than me. There was a power outage which wasn’t their fault but there was a prom and a dance competition which led to screaming teenagers all night. Front desk was not the best when it came to the power outage. Rude We come to NC often to visit our son and this is a nope never again.

Room smelled heavily of mold. The housekeeper replaced our towels and replaced 2 of the towels with dirty linen. Our couch was sticky and so was the carpet. Also the toilet paper holder was broken so the toilet paper had to sit on the back of the toilet. For a suit I was highly disappointed in the room. The front desk lady was super nice but couldn’t accommodate a room change due to them being at capacity.

The bed was filthy with blood marks. The bathroom was filthy. There were hair in the tub and a leftover used wash cloth on the tub spout. I ended up not taking a shower in that bathroom, instead just freshened up using the sink before checkout. Terrible experience especially from a Hilton hotel.

This hotel looks like it was refurbished from a cheaper, low quality hotel. The bathroom door blocks the shower door so you have to keep the bathroom door closed to get in and out of the shower. The he bathroom is extremely small. The lobby area is very nice.

The property, the pool area, and the staff was great. The room was in bad shape, my door lock broke twice and I had to sit in the hallway for 40 minutes waiting for maintenance to “break in” to my room. Then I wasn’t offered a new room or any compensation. Just told it would go on the list to be fixed. Fridge too small, no microwave, bathroom fixtures broken…..just not in good shape

My third or fourth stay at this property. The sink was clogged and had to call to have it fixed. Then, the tub will not drain properly and 4 to 5 inches of water will collect in the bottom while taking a shower. It took to requests to have it repaired. Room layout was not as good as previous stays.

The room was located facing the highway and could hear semi trucks and driving by all night making for restless sleep. Also, asked for an hour past check out, 1:00 instead of 12:00. My husband had an appointment at Duke Cancer Center and unsure about the timing. Front desk person told us no and we had to check out before 8. There was no attempt to accommodate us.

The only thing I missed was the microwave. Also the fridge went between 42 degrees and 55 degrees, by myself being a retired chef I know this is incorrect for refrigerator temps. They were so busy at checkout I couldn’t tell anyone.

The receptionist who checked me in was very rude upon asking question. I believe that lady should not be working as a front line greeter to the customer visiting the city. That ladys presence made my impression on the city durham so poorly. I can take little run down old facility but cannot accept rudeness of the staff. Very poor management

Rooms are clean and very comfortable albeit a little tattered in areas. Front desk is helpful and courteous. The bar/ restaurant staff is friendly but incredibly slow and - in every instance- had difficulty taking the simplest of orders and )getting them out without multiple follow up requests. Again- lovely people, but either not properly trained or they just don’t care do follow through.

I had a problem the first night that I stayed at this hotel. The smoke detector kept going off until 2:30 am. When I call to report this problem the front desk person said that maintenance would be coming up. They never showed. So today when I checked out I asked if there was going to be an adjustment (credit) to my bill. The front desk person that since I booked with Expedia nothing could be done. Be aware of this situation.

I stayed at this property in December 2021 and December 2022. The hotel is clean, and the staff is professional. Some of the senior staff are excellent, friendly and caring. The wifi is fine. and I had no problems using the internet, but I'm not sure if the wifi is strong enough to Zoom. The parking lot is large, so it's easy to park at any time. Great location close to Duke University. The hotel is decades old, so manage your expectations. But I would happy to stay here again. When I stayed here in December 2022, the heater was blowing cold air. The front desk sent an engineer to reset the heater, but the reset process takes one hour to cycle through, so I was in my room working on my laptop with cold air blowing on me in the winter. Otherwise, no problems.

Three negatives: (1) breakfast food preparation was subpar: eggs overcooked, horrible sausage, runny gravy, biscuit hard. The oats were quite good, however, $20 for even the world's best cup of oats is a bit much. The server was excellent. (2) very limited heat (72F)/cool (69F) room temperature controls (3) The bath towels were more suited for exfoliating than drying skin.
