Mixed review here as there were some good features, some bad ones and No real great one. Took a trip with my 9 year old son and stayed a few days, Sunday - Tuesday Breakfast was a hot, but the eggs and sausage were low quality. Waffles were the better option. Cereal selection was ehh. Coffee station was very good. Everything else was just okay. Worst part, the buffet closed at 9, even though website says 9:30 on weekdays. It should be 10am. We ended up missing a breakfast because i thought it ended at 9:30 and we got there at 9. When you travel with kids, that's another meal you need to purchase so it was a big deal. I purposely picked this hotel for the indoor pool, being the weather has been so bad. The pool area was very old and run down. I Expected The pool condition to be better, considering it's La Quinta by Wyndham. It was way below expectations. We wanted the pool to be a big part of our stay but only went once because of how blah it was. The room was the best part of the trip. We shared a king bed, which was comfy. It had a fridge but with no freezer. Included was a microwave and coffee machine. A good, Full selection of TV channels. the room was spacious. As far as service, from the little interaction i had with staff, they seemed completely accommodating; no issues there. Regardless of your room, there is only 1 elevator at the far end of the hotel, if that matters to anyone. It didn't really to us. Just thought it was worth noting.

I have stayed at this La Quinta many times. It is always clean and has a very friendly staff. The location is great for visiting Duke and has all sorts of shipping within a five or ten minute drive. There are laundry machines, a small gym, an indoor pool, and free breakfast every day. Parking is easy and free. Overall a very nice place to stay.

It was decent. I was skeptical after seeing roach reviews but I didn’t see any in my room nor the pool area. However, there was one big dead one in the hallway that stay there for 2 days. Besides that there is no longer a hot tub as pictured so they should probably take that down. And the pool closes at 8pm not 10 which is rather early. But it was ok and in a good location so I guess.

Overall it's a very nice hotel, nice staff. Great lobby/dining room. Much more inviting than most hotels like this. Room was nice, clean, and comfy bed. One odd thing is the parking, the lot is very well lighted, but the parking spots are the most narrow I have ever seen anywhere. Clearly they needed to maximize parking capacity, so they painted the line really close. I noticed at least 6 open spots, but there was a big pickup or SUV parked next to it that there was no room for a normal car. Very odd...

This isn’t a fancy place but the customer service made this stay absolutely wonderful! Had my pet in tow and the room we stayed in was super clean. The hotel itself has some normal wear and tear but our bed, bathroom and floors were spotless! The indoor pool was nice and great for kids. They had snacks for sale at the front and there were plenty of near by restaurants. This place had everything we needed and more for our stay, we will definitely be back. Lastly, the cherry on top was the front desk manager (male) was kind enough to let us have a late check out! Thank you for the fantastic service!!

Stay for work while RV was repaired. Only complaint is the laundry room takes quarters (but) the hotel does not provide change and steers one to an application that sends one down a rabbit hole of eventually providing credit card information and charging $5.25 (including .25 cent service fee for a $2.75 load. Don't use it! Bring quarters and soap! Otherwise the stay was fine and the breakfast good. Except for the OJ, which was sour. I would stay again.

Stayed here for a recent football game TCU vs UNC. Check-in/out no problem. Breakfast, nothing fancy but adequate. HANDS DOWN, the WORST problem is something we noticed instantly upon walking in. The hallway carpet from backdoor to front, EVERY floor is filthy, not just dirty but stained and filthy. Even our room had what looked like grease on the carpet. In addition, stayed in a Fairfield Inn the previous 2 nights and the beds were noticeably better. No problem with employees of this facility but as an airline pilot for 34 years staying all over the world, I have NEVER seen a carpet situation like this. This issue alone, would prevent me from staying here again.

The hotel itself wasn’t too bad overall, but the cleanliness and upkeep need serious attention. The bathtub was filthy, the furniture looked worn, dirty, and had a bad odor, and the room door had a large gap that didn’t feel secure. With better cleaning and maintenance, this could be a much nicer stay.

The check in was okay. When entering the room there was a moldy wet carpet smell that was horrendous. When going to shower for the night all but 3 towels had hair in them. So the next morning asked if we could be switched to another room that didn’t smell and wasn’t damp she stated she could only change the room before 12pm in which I would not be at the property for the day so she offered to spray the room. They did send some one to check out the room in which they agreed that it smelt bad and it was damp. When returning for the evening you could tell they tried to slot at the room to make it smell better but literally did not improve the smell at all. I also asked for a new set of towels at the front desk letting her know that all the towels had hair in them just to find out that every set of towels we received daily had hairs in them. The bedding was filthy along with the walls and lamp shades. So they definitely don’t seem to care about cleanliness or sanitation. I will never book or stay at this property or chain again. The uncleanliness is unacceptable and the property needs to be renovated and furniture replaced.

This hotel is outdated and in serious need of renovations. The lobby and hallways had a strong, unpleasant odor...somewhere between mildew and urine....which made a bad first impression. I also noticed water stains on the ceiling, which raised concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. While the room itself smelled okay, it had a damp, sticky feeling...likely due to the visible ceiling water damage and high humidity. Overall, the stay felt uncomfortable, and for the condition of the property, the price should definitely be lower.

The whole hotel was a bit worn. The elevators were not centrally located. Our room wasn’t very clean and smelled like marijuana. There were a couple bags of trash in the hallway the entire time we were there. The cart we used for our luggage had a flat tire. On the bright side, the staff were ok, and breakfast was nice.

The hotel was nicely updated and very clean. The room had all the amenities we needed - a desk, microwave, refrigerator and a nice big counter in the bathroom, decent breakfast. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the NOISE. A very strange, loud, vibrating, grinding noise that occurred every single hour on the hour for one minute. It was coming from a locked door (not a room) two doors down. No one seemed to care or know what this noise was. It was very annoying as it happened every single hour even at night. So weird. I really wish I could have gotten into that locked room to see what was inside.

We arrived at La Quinta Inn after midnight due to heavy rain and road closures, but the front desk staff were so kind and helpful, making our late check-in smooth and stress-free. I had a horrible experience with Teri, she charged my card for $100 deposit and when I checked out I asked for a receipt she said she couldn’t give receipt because I booked through Hotels.com, I then asked for a receipt for my deposit and she we refunded and when I got home I was out of my $100 deposit fighting with this hotel and the bank. I suggest you use a credit card and not a debit card or use a prepaid card. The bank also said they didn’t see the transaction and I’m out of $100. In spite of that hotel was very clean, the front desk staff was nice, except Teri, the rooms are a little bit dated and my sink was stopped up a day, but was taken care of the next upon my return. This Teri character is was a cocky, sarcastic piece of work, while checking in I asked her a ? and she to policy board it in face as to say” read it for yourself.” I will return to Chapel Hill in the future loc, but never to this hotel unfortunately due to the negligence of Teri and the nastiness.😡

This is definitely a mid-grade property with mid-grade accommodations and service. Check-in was easy but the staff didn’t go out of their way to make you feel welcome. My son and I were given room 209 and as soon as I walked up to the door I had concerns about security. The door jamb had been forced by a pry bar or similar tool to the point that you could see the latches for the door through the caved in part on the jamb. No excuse for keeping this room in service. Fix the jamb and make your guests feel safe. I took a photo and will try to share. I didn’t ask for another room because we were able to secure the door but I took all valuables with me every time I left the room. The room was spacious with a fridge and coffee pot but dated for sure. Breakfast was more basic than most that I’ve had over my years of travel and the selection dwindles quick with only minimal restock. Stay away from the biscuits, they taste like whatever was used to clean the pan. The selling point of this hotel is its convenience to Duke University and the availability of dining and shopping options within a 5-10 minute drive. Final thought on the property is that they advertise as 100% smoke free and even have a sign posted in the driveway but no attempt was made to enforce this as I observed several folks smoking outside and right in front of the sign that said “No Smoking.”

It's a very nice property. We booked two rooms for a night. Although the reviews were mixed, our experience was very nice. We would definitely come again! Cons: My only gripe is when hotels make it a policy to charge for early check-in. We asked to check in 1-2 hours early, and they wanted us to pay $65 per room (half of a room's cost for the night). We obviously declined. Do they pay some money back if I check in late? No. Then, they shouldn't ask me to pay extra if I want to check in 1-2 hours early.

The property and staff were fantastic! Everything is clean and maintained. It is a noisy area in terms of traffic, and if you have noisy neighbors at the hotel you will unfortunately hear them yelling and carrying on all night. Additionally, a few of the nearby surrounding businesses appear to be defunct, making the location it is in a bit less favorable. Overall, though, it is a good hotel and centrally located between UNC Chapel Hill and plenty of shopping throughout Durham. There are huge, busy roads all around, but many fantastic things are within a 10-15 minute drive, which is great. The pool is a bit cold but the gym is very nice.

This is our second time here, and it’s a nice hotel, conveniently located for our needs - right off the highway. No frills, but all of the essentials were there. Pet friendly, and reasonably priced for travelers with pets.

The Hotel was clean, beautifully decorated. Cleaning staff was nice and front desk check in went well. The morning breakfast offered could definitely be improved. The options offered were good, however the eggs/egg product was often cold and full of water. The sausage at times was over cooked or very dry. The yogurt option was limited to one . Again,.the meaning offered was good but properly prepared could be improved.
