Outside was in good condition but the pool was dirty and hot tub broken. They have tables blocking the doors to the pool that are not working. Carpets are old and torn, stained. But for the price it’s tolerable.

The hotel is tired and old. The bar wasn't open. Front desk didn't have quarters to make change to use the dryers. The Wifi was slow and really weak in multiple locations.

I’ve been staying at Millennium for over 4 years. Other than the occasional empty ice machine, I don’t have anything negative to say. A few months ago I had to stay at the Hilton closer to campus. 3x the price yet the WiFi was never above 0.5Mbps. I brought it to the Hilton management and was told nobody ever complained. Millennium free WiFi is rarely less than 50Mbps. Big difference.

The hotel is very convenient if attending a function at Duke university. The staff was fabulous to deal with and were incredibly helpful and friendly. The only issue is that the lounge has modified times and isn’t open every evening. They also only served breakfast so you’ll have to go elsewhere (or Uber in) for lunch/supper.

I have stayed at the Millennium several times. The advertised hot tub has never been in service, but prior to this stay the pool was available. This trip neither the pool nor the hot tub were in use. I was very disappointed

The overall cleanliness of the room was fair. The bathroom floor was dirty and the tub had stains in it to the point that I wore shower shoes, which I never do. There was 3 blood-like stains on the carpet going into the bathroom and the bathroom floor was so dirty that I could move dirt with my shoe. This was extremely disappointing as I have periodically stayed here for a few years. This ends that relationship, unfortunately.

Upon entry the lobby looks very nice and the surrounding amenities gave a false expectation for the room. Room number one five seven - This room had writing on the walls, main room and bathroom. Food stains and smears on the walls. - hair on both counters, tub, sink and floor of the bathroom - Hair on pillow cases and crumbs on the floor. They weren't vacuumed -New room number one two zero - Clean walls, freshley cleaned, but floors once again not vacuumed. Found large black dead beetle in the middlw of the floor. ( Traveling with kids/baby mind you) - Bathroom was cleaner than previous bath for sure. We didnt feel clean staying in this hotel, but it was only for one night and we just dealt with it unfortunately. This is a when you broke and desperately need a place to stay type of hotel. We gave it a shot based on the location first and the price just so happened to be under one hundred thirty dollars for one night.

Booked 3 weeks in advance for 2 king bed rooms. when checking in was told they only had one available so we had to accept a double queen room. in the double queen room discovered mold around the vent in the bathroom. when i showed the front desk all they could tell me was they was sorry and hurried up and checked me out

Overall, this hotel could use some improvement. The bathroom could use some detailed cleaning. The shower rod was handing from the wall, the grout was cracked and mildewed, the ceiling had cracked and peeling paint, bathroom tile was stained. These are small and easy items to fix, that would make a big difference in cleanliness. The carpet in the hallways was stained and buckled. There was a complimentary breakfast, but you are not given “vouchers” when you check in. In the middle of eating, I was asked for a voucher and had to get up and go to the front desk to get one. The chef/cook was refilling food items wearing flip flops, which I found unsanitary. The breakfast was fair. Pre-made omelets and pre-made bacon and cheese biscuits. Cold and dry French toast. Nut and poppyseed muffins. There was no hot cereal. Just the typical complimentary breakfast. For the price (which was not near the advertised $90) of $130, I give this hotel a 2.5/5.

The pictures online are a misrepresentation of how filthy this hotel is. The carpets are coming up in every hallway and are stained black from mold on all sides. My room had stains (body fluid and other) everywhere. Every piece of furniture, doors, and walls were dented and stained. The place reeked of mildew and smoke. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and people were walking and playing music at all hours of night. I only stayed one night and checked out two days early. I’ve sent multiple emails to the manager with no response back.

This is a hard review to write because the staff was friendly and professional and you could tell they really try to keep things clean. The unfortunate fact though is that this is a tired, run-down hotel. the carpets are worn, there is a musty smell throughout, and, while the rooms are pretty clean, they are also well-used and aged. I booked this hotel because it was so close to Duke Neurology, the reviews were good, and the pictures looked great. The pictures are obviously very, very old. Our stay was fine, but I would not stay at Millenium again.

Lobby is misleading in comparison to the rooms. A/C was spotty at best. Unable to keep a comfortable temperature. Stains on carpet and baseboards of bed. Very noisy at all hours. 3am sounded like moving furniture for at least an hour and a half. 2nd day was some better. Door would not stay shut in bathroom. Ran out of coffee and only decaf was available at front desk. Friendly staff but will pass on a future stay.

Mostly clean, the halls had a strong smell of cigarettes. Bathroom was alright, tho some stains on tub and towels, the iron was pretty cheap and leaks water so I wouldn’t recommend giving your clothes a good iron with it. The Tv was nice and the bedding too, the room was nice a spacious though, I like that. Overall, not too bad, maybe I’ll stay again, but I might lookout for something better. 5.5/10 for average.

Carpet needs to be changed everywhere! Beds are comfortable and clean, but be careful not to put your clean bare feet on the dirty but vacuumed floor. Water pressure is terrible in the shower and the toilet. No microwaves in the rooms and the little refrigerators are out dated and doesn't really cool anything. Walls are thin, you hear everything in the halls and between the neighboring rooms. You get what you pay for, and sometime4s you have to deal with a place like this if you're in a tight budget.

Great location, very close to Duke university. Lots of parking, friendly staff, easy check in. Bathrooms have sliding doors that don’t fully close, so that’s annoying. It’s inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. Not fancy but decent and great value. Second time staying here and would stay again.

Our room was comfortable. We didn’t take advantage of the shuttle because it stopped at 2 pm which was too early in the day to return to the room. We didn’t eat onsite, offered a breakfast meal buffet for $15.00. Our room temperature was fine but had to be controlled by the unit at the window, our thermostat did not work.

It once was a very exclusive property based on the layout and apparent set up. Would like to see it returned to that previous stature. We arrived and were told we had a canceled reservation. We were forced to rebook to avoid having to find another hotel. The desk clerk wasn't really much help and didn't try to get us a reservation!

DONT BOOK HERE! I booked my reservation a week before and even called the day before to ask about checking in late and was told it would be ok. I arrived a little after midnight from PA, and saw a lot of people in the lobby. The clerk (young guy) at front desk laughed and said "don't get mad at me, but there are no rooms available" He said the general manager is taking care of it, who never came out to talk to me or other guests. This young guy was very rude and insensitive saying you're out of luck and there's nothing we can do. I admit I was very upset and told him this not a laughing manner to get his smirk off his face. I was there with my kids after midnight with nowhere to go. He then proceeded to ignore me and say I'm not talking to you. I never had this happen to me where I am stranded late at night, out of town with my kids. I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK HERE!!

The absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. Booked a two night stay from Friday-Sunday. On Saturday morning I awoke to someone trying to enter the room. Another guest had been checked into my room. Upon calling the front desk I was told my reservation did not exist. After having to go down and spend 20 minutes discussing and showing the confirmation the reservation was suddenly found in the system. No apology, no concern for the jarring wake up or rude treatment. Upon arriving back Saturday evening after being out for the day, my room key no longer worked and I was told I had to check back in because hotel policy is all stays are daily. No staff available to bring towels to the room. I was told they only had one staff member. All staff members were rude and wildly unhelpful. Absolute scam of an establishment. Avoid!

Probably the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever encountered. Showed up to check in just before midnight after 14 hours of traveling, only for the guy at the front desk to laugh and say “we have no rooms”. No rooms?? I had made a reservation….well that didn’t matter because the hotel had overbooked by 40 ROOMS!! As we all started to arrive, they just held us in the lobby and saying there’s nothing they could do. All hotels around were fully booked. Terrible customer service. We left and went to a hotel downtown that actually understood customer service. Will never recommend anyone stay there!

I would not recommend nor would I be go back to this hotel. The hallway has a moldy smell to it, it may be the noticeable old carpet throughout the halls. Ppl smoke in their rooms and you can smell it coming through your own room. My card was charge 3 additional fees everyday I spent there, I spent 3 nights there after my first day I was charged $3.56; the lady at the desk said it was an overnight audit charge and it would be returned after checkout. The 2nd my card was charged $17.03; a different front desk woman stated this was for the amenities that I didn’t use. Only thing I used was the WiFi and they promote the WiFi is free. The last day I was there my card was charged $103.56; I still don’t know what this charge is for and I’ve been trying to contact them for an explanation. Because I checked out at 4am to catch my early flight, the two attendants at the front desk couldn’t explain to me why I was charged this fee and told me to call the property later in the day when a manager was on shift. It appears as if they have this issue often because upon going to the front desk about the first additional charge, I heard a previous customer on the phone inquiring about the charges she was told would be deposited back to her account which weren’t as of yet and the desk person told her upon check deposits are returned to the card and it’s a possibility the customers bank is delaying the return payment. If u stay here put the exact payment on a prepaid card!

The staff were amazingly welcoming and kind. Very comfortable stay. A dozen restaurant options less than 5 minutes away on quiet roads. Upper floors have been remodeled and improved. Our room was one on a lower floor that hadn't yet been modernized but we still felt it was great. Minor maintenance issues like the room number missing and deadbolt screws starting to come loose will get addressed as they complete the remodel, I'm sure.

Unfortunately, my check-in experience was lacking. The attendant wasn't very communicative. After letting me know that my king room would need to be changed to two doubles (because they were out, which I understood), they tossed my room keys on the counter, didn't say anything else to me, then gave the check-in station to another worker to assist others, and did not give me any other information—nothing about check-out, nothing about the facilities, and not even where the elevators were located. I was still waiting at the counter because I thought I was still being checked in and the other attendant had to tell me I was heading the wrong way to the elevator after I felt the need to get out of the way so they could take care of other clients. This was not a professional way to greet a customer who has paid to stay at your hotel.

We stay here due to the proximity of Duke Medical Center which is a 6 min drive. Also choice a 6 restaurants in a plaza 3 minutes away. Room is basic but spacious and clean. Parking is ample.

While we enjoyed the spacious rooms and quiet atmosphere, we were a little put-off by the grounds around the property. The grass was long, there was garbage in the bushes and most concerning was the hypodermic needles I found in the grass under the light pole and on the side yard of the hotel. Seeing this made me nervous about taking my dog out at night. Despite these concerns, our room was clean, the staff was helpful, and we had no issues with our stay. We would return to this property but request a room closer to the front of the hotel.

Nice hotel, bathroom had some peeling wallpaper and shower rod was curved and didn’t have nubs on it so curtain wouldn’t stay shut. Hotel area isn’t in the best area and parking lot lights were dim. Lots of iffy people hanging outside hotel.

First time visit to Durham, the neighborhood was perfect for our visit to campus. There were a number of restaurants within a five minute walk. Parking was free and easy. The hotel seemed busy and popular but I couldn’t tell why. There was a stocked bar that never opened; our room was pretty dang dirty with cobwebs, suspicious burn marks on the electrical outlet / light switch, and the window looked like a Petri dish with organisms growing (hopefully) between the panes of glass. Yuck. We had to air the room out when we got there because of strong smoke smell. The staff just seemed bored and disinterested. Just a bummer on an otherwise positive trip

Shower stall tile was dirty, bad caulking around tile and fixtures, shower curtain does not close properly, stains on rugs in hallways, dirty in room coffee pot, no complimentary coffee in lobby, have to pay for breakfast , if you want coffee they charge $3 a cup, $10 breakfast average, indoor pool and hot tub not warm enough.

This place is huge as are the rooms. We surely got our exercise getting to our room. The little store was nearly barren, and we found loose hairs in our tub. The tub did not drain, and hubby took the time to clean it out. There was a nice restaurant, but it was only open for breakfast, so we had to go off site to eat. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Bed was comfortable. Asian gal at front desk was rude and made faces when we asked for help finding room. Doesn’t enjoy her job clearly. Breakfast was horrible and everyone there felt the same. Asked and was told breakfast was free when checking in but they tried to collect when we showed up in the morning.
