Comfort Inn MSP Airport - Mall of America

Very dated property. No towels in room and they couldn’t bring any. No towels at the pool. Hotel is short staffed.

The property was fine with decent amenities; pool area, weight/exercise room, a few arcade games, patio, grill, volleyball net, etc.. The breakfast area turns over a lot of visitors in a short amount of time and the kitchen staff was on top of everything. Food was basic; eggs, sausage, pastries, cereal/oatmeall, and a make your own waffle area. The shuttles to the mall and airport come fairly frequently and if you just can't wait, Lyft/Ubers are not expensive. Also, the hotel is convenient to resturants and bars. The room seemed clean, though it appeared no one paid much attention to the window area or the inch or so surrounding the platform of the beds. The bathroom however, was a different situation. The sink rim was full of mold! You can't even see it unless you look at it from the right angle but once seen, it can't be unseen. I'm hoping the staff uses a yellow cleaning solution because there was a lot of yellow around the toilet. There is no vent in the bathroom so your towels don't completely dry. You'll want to ask for fresh towels every day even though they tell you the housekeeping staff only changes towels every other day. Lastly, the no-slip floor in the bathroom was oddly sticky. Maybe it's supposed to be that way but I've never experienced anything like it and it was disconcerting. This was our first time at the Mall of America and with all of the hotels around, we will probably try a different one next time.

Booked room because of 24/7 shuttle from airport. Shuttle never showed and cost an additional $30 to go 2 miles from the airport.

Shuttle service from the airport was terrible. I couldn’t find the it coming for the first two times, bc of the connection issues, as I fly from overseas and had no data on my phone. But the shuttle never stopped more than three minutes and I couldn’t even reach out to the driver as the number was not provided. After that, as I made the third request, the shuttle didn’t picked me up for an hour, while it kept detouring to avoid pick me up. I could have definitely called an uber. It was my mistake but, on the app, I saw the shuttle made some stops for about five minutes at another place. After 10 hours of long flight and long queues at the customs, I thought I purchased a decent hotel but I guess o should have chose better one. It was such a waste of time. I will never use this place again. At least, I highly recommend using an uber from the airport if you’re an international traveller.

Shuttle only runs once per hour so good to know if arriving late at night. Breakfast ok, hotel hallways and such kind of musty but overall room was very clean.

Older hotel. Two ice machines on second and third floor did not work. Had to go down two halls on the first floor for ice. Weed odor emanating from rooms on third floor (what part of “no smoking” IS NOT CLEAR?!?!? Breakfast stopped at 9:30, despite the room guide stating breakfast was available until 10 a.m. People plan their schedule around the information provided in the room only to find out they were too late for the “free” breakfast. I told the clerk but I doubt anything will change. Would not recommend this hotel.

The shuttle is a disaster. You have to jump through hoops then wait to get picked up from 20 minutes to an hour. It's ridiculous. The breakfast is wonderful but the issue with the shuttle most likely will keep me from a future return visit. A shout-out to the hotel manager. She picked me up personally after nearly an hour wait when I did "exactly" what I was supposed to do. The driver was assigned and told me he was 3 minutes away but that changed into 50 plus minutes. At that point the manager personally picked me up. Thank you so much to this wonderful manager.

I found the hotel to be adequate for my needs except for their shuttle to the airport. Every hotel with shuttles, in my experience, run about every 15 / 30 minutes. This place runs shuttles ONLY every hour which means going almost an hour earlier to the airport than needed. Had I known, I would not have stayed here.

We enjoyed our stay, the beds are very comfortable and rooms are big, the pool room is beautiful with plants and tables and windows, pool is well kept. There is an outside area for hanging out with patio lights which we really enjoyed! Theres badminton and bbqs too, plus its very close to mall of america and walmart which is great! Breakfast had many options but no bacon, only sausage. Negatives were that its slightly older and may need a bit of tlc, walls are thin so we could hear a baby crying across the hall, they also do not have a fan in the bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay and ate at outback steakhouse twice.....its excellent! The airport shuttle is also a helpful touch.

Recurring break ins to out of state vehicles.

Desk staff very friendly. Prompt service. No-pressure check-in. Asked for non-smoking room, clerk says entire property is smoke-free... I could smell cigarette smoke as soon as the 2nd floor elevator door opened. Room was clean-ish: not sparkling or perfect (carpet stained, curtains dirty, window seal dirty, spider webs in corners, dust on lamp shades), tub only had a few hairs in it, head board just a little greasy. I didn't sleep well (too much static cling in sheets). Heater kept going hot/cold/hot/cold...all night. Ironing board was left broken in the closet (one of the legs was off); I had to lay the board on the bathroom sink to iron. Shuttle driver prompt and courteous. I paid $97 for my stay, so I got what I paid for. No hard feelings.

We had room 409. There was water damage on the ceiling and a little mold on the bathroom wall towards the baseboard. The staff was great. The main room was very clean.

This is an older motel, but fairly clean, bed was comfy and breakfast was good...room was supposed to be smoke free, but had a pretty strong smoke smell:( also no hand towels in bathroom

Lobby is clean and updated, hallways and room smell like cigarettes. Room very worn down.

The room was not very clean. The back board of the bed had splatters all over it like it wasn’t wiped down at all. Over all not super clean as you’d expect it to be. Rooms could use some tlc and a deep cleaning.

Older hotel. We see the attempt on updates. Overall it smells in the hotel of musty & smoke. Didn't have toothbrushes on hand. Staff wasn't very friendly. No towels in pool area. Dirty hallways. Possible rat sighting- overhead kids yelling about seeing them. We would not stay again.

In room. Wet carpet, extremely noisy AC that barely worked, hot, smelled of mold and mildew. Bathroom, shower barely worked. And lt looked like a toddle had caulked around the toilet. There was paint on the mirror and drawings with a sharpie? Won’t ever stay here again.

Not the cleanest hotel. Found several items left from other guest under chairs. Microwave was not cleaned. Lots of spiders and webs throughout the room as well.

I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but this stay left me little choice in warning others. I travel for work and this is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at within the Choice hotel chain. I rented 2 rooms and booked here for the indoor pool as we were in the area to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with some of her friends. Both rooms were equally in terrible condition. Paint and wallpaper peeling off the walls. Horribly stained lampshades. Dirty air vents. Filthy walls, doors, door jams, light fixtures. Broken light switch in our room. The full length body mirrors weren’t even hung straight. The air in the rooms was musty. The halls wreaked of cigarettes and marijuana. Carpets are stained. There was a mystery substance on the wall next to the headboard of my bed that was damp in nature. I would’ve left and gone elsewhere had I not already paid in full and had a non-refundable stay for nearly $400. There is clearly no pride taken in the upkeep of this hotel and I would’ve expected this type of grime in a much cheaper place. Long story short - just don’t. There are plenty of better options nearby. Spend a few extra dollars and skip this place. Trust me—you’ll thank yourself later.

The entire place smelled like marijuana- including our room. The room was dirty, the tub was filthy.

We stayed out of convenience, distant to the airport. Room was muggy. Chair in room was very stained.

Close to Mall of America. Easy parking. Nice staff. Nice lobby and center courtyard outside. Refrigerator did not work. AC struggled to keep the room cool during the day. Should update rooms to include USB

Very noisy room. Room was not very clean. Tried to put TV on for background noise and it didn't work.

Standard Choice Hotels breakfast. 24 hr Airport shuttle. Shuttle is in bad shape and needs repairs of seatbelts and an interior cleaning. Carpet in room 428 torn. Plenty of hot water. Basic amenities in cf bathroom. Relatively quiet area. Elevators.

Very old, worn but seemed to be clean. Staff was very helpful. Outback restaurant next door really good and convenient. Shuttle to airport a bit ratty, could be cleaner but overall good. Busy place.

The windows didn’t help keep any of the outside traffic quiet at all. If you are looking for a quiet nights sleep, skip this hotel. The mattress had also seen better days. It needs to be replaced. The shower fixtures were replaced and didn’t line up ending up with gaps. Just average or below average for this stay.

The staff was very helpful when I had an issue with my key, just wish the smoke detector battery sound wasn’t going off and I didn’t get a 5am wake up from a car alarm.

When we arrived the desk worker was very nice and friendly. Once we were in our room, it was obvious the photos were deceiving. The place definitely needs some updates. We needed to have the maintenance person sent to our room as soon as we arrived because the toilet was not flushing appropriately and our joining room door would not work. He was able to fix the door but looked at the toilet and said it was fine. We had to sit there and hold the handle down for way longer than was normal just to get it to flush. Our parents room was no better. The shower curtains did not want to stay shut and the water pressure in our parents' room was low. We chose this hotel for the shuttle system to the mall. I had called ahead to the main # and they said it was an on call shuttle. When we went to use it, we were told it left on the hour only. The desk employee "Angela" was rude. Did not want to tell me when the manager was on duty. She finally gave me the phone number for the manager. I called, left a message and never hear back from the manager. Durning our stay we had some bugs in our room, the tv stations were hit and miss and different between our two rooms. It was just not the best stay over all. We decided we would not be staying there again. The only staff we interacted with that was rude was Angela. The others were very helpfull on our first night there. After dealing with Angela and not hearing back from the manager after our first day there we just delt with the issues.

We appreciated the free airport shuttle. Rodriguez was a wonderful friendly driver👍 Hotel staff was very helpful. The room was nice and quiet. No hallway noice or street noice. Would stay here again! 😊

We chose this hotel because reviews said it was easy check in. Called property day before check in because of a middle of night check in and wanted it to be easy. They assured me shuttle runs every 10-20 min, and they were super friendly and reassuring. We waited 45 min for a shuttle and finally canceled that to get an uber since the app said shuttle would still be 40 min. Then arrive at property and had 1 person checking in ahead of us. It took over 20 minutes for that one party to get checked in and not once did the staff acknowledge us standing there, apologize for wait. He was super slow, and not at all friendly or personable. The room is clean and nothing fancy but good for a quick stay flying in or out of MSP but from be weary of the potential for slow service. From the time we got outside if MsP and contacted shuttle to the time we got in the room was over 90 minutes at a time that was not busy.

The hotel always over sold the rooms, Our flight got delayed, although I called and notified, them, they gave away my daughter’s room and were not able to assign a room until 2:30 am. They kept insisting us that we should check other hotels near by instead of finding the hotel room us. After a long argument, they were able to manage a room in another hotel which was on the fourth floor. What a poor management and customer service which could have been solved earlier The front desk person was lying that he can see the reservation for one room only. It took more than an hour for the hotel shuttle to pick us up from the Airport. The shuttle seats were filthy dirty. I wish I could give them 0 star.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in a long time. From the front desk not adding me to the shuttle list when I checked in and requested one for the airport. Rude employees. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was denied and the employee would not give me his name. He then swore at me. His picture is attached below

Claimed the sofa bed was an option but said there was no bedding available. Tried numerous times and never did get a blanket. Mattress was dirty and gross. Unresponsive front desk. Hotel was quiet.

First our tv needed replaced then our heating unit. Maintenance was super efficient, professional and friendly. Management didn't offer an apology or any comps for all the inconvenience. Room was clean and comfortable enough

The room was clean, the beds comfortable, but the tv never worked properly. Also, when I called for an extra blanket I was told to go down & get it myself. Beings I was in pajamas, I told them just forget it. But my grandson went down later & got me one. Not customer-friendly!

Overall a decent stay. Room keys did not work after checking in. Housekeeping knocked on my door in the morning when I had the “do not disturb” sign hanging up. Housekeeping then proceeded to ask me when I would be leaving which was quite rude.

Only a four minutes drive from mall of america. Which was the reason for our stay.

Property is close to the airport and offers a shuttle. A little noisy from street traffic.

The attached Outback Restaurant is nice to unwind at prior to bed. Food and drinks are good. Hotel has been doing renovations. It’s not a fancy place but perfect for me. Location for airport and MOA is great.

They had a airport pickup, which came after 40 min even though it was ordered well in advance through the app. Breakfast is absolutely worthless and not edible. We had to go out and have the breakfast. I booked this hotel room for my son but his experience is quite a terrible. This is the 2nd choice group hotel within a month the experience is so pathetic. .

Overall, hotel was run down. Gross stains on furniture. Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. Staff were very friendly. Process was somewhat slow. Beds were comfortable. Low on food at breakfast.

Breakfast was excellent and staff especially kitchen staff were great.

Really need to update the rooms to include USB ports for charging devices. Check-in was good. Staff was nice. Pool was really nice. Breakfast left a lot to be desired.

There's plenty of parking even for big trucks. The rooms have plenty of amenities. They all have the large toilet seat. Breakfast is excellent, omelets, sausages, cereal, waffles, juice and milk.

The breakfast was always empty 2 days in a row waiting for eggs and sausages 30 people in the breakfast room and they bring out 6 omelets at a time

Staff was very nice. Hotel offered shuttle service to airport. TV did not work well and toilet ran on and off the whole night. Breakfast offered different choices and was well stocked.
