Very good staff friendly and accommodating room was very clean too small, there's no lift in the hotel and had to climb two levels to our room breakfast was excellent and train station just round the corner to get to Glasgow

My second two night stay here. Even better than the first. The staff a very friendly and make sure you are looked after well. Easy parking just out the front of the hotel. Nice bar and restaurant area. Great breakfast. I will be back

The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is quite beautiful inside. The lack of elevator may be an issue with someone with mobility issues (our room was on the 2nd floor). There was a good shopping area nearby, including an Aldi (for groceries). The hotel restaurant was very good, with a good selection for dinner options. It was just a couple of blocks away from public transportation.

Check in was perfect,parking excellent.the room was realky clean and bed was very comfortable. Evening meal was very nice in the restaurant and a good choice on the menu. Breakfast was fast and efficient.

Check in was smooth and the room was spotlessly clean. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Room was lovely and comfortable and quiet despite lots going on in other areas of the hotel - we had a peaceful nights rest. Will definitely stay again

We stayed here for a few days. The hotel was welcoming on a cold afternoon and once we settled in, we headed to the bar for drinks and eats. In the end we bought 2 bottles of wine and we had starters. Nice food well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately we did report to the guy on reception that we found what looked like smashed glass outside a room when we walked past. The next day it was still there, we did then tell the cleaner the following morning, who picked it up as in the end it was plastic. The rooms and main arwas were clean but the corridors to and from our room were not hoovered while we were there. We did enjoy our stay and will stay again. Its proximity to glasgow is great and very easy to get to. Unfortunately it wasnt until I got home that I seen that instead of 2 bottles of wine I was charged 3, so in future I would check my bill mor thoroughly... wouldnt deter me returning, we all make mistakes and I did sign and pay the bill.

Conveniently located with easy access to all of the Central Belt comes with the downside of being on a busy noisy road. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are fairly low grade but very filling! Rooms and furnishings are a little tired.

Stayed here a few times now and always had a pretty good experience. Staff are freindly and helpful. Food is good and the rooms are pleasant and comfortable. A couple of minor issues during this particular stay though. The TV signal kept breaking up and was unwatchable. The TV's in some of the rooms are a bit dated and old now and I don't think they've ever been re-tuned! I suspect a problem with the antenna cable or distribution amp. This sadly is not uncommon in many hotels, not just this one, I think there should be some sort of maintainence check done periodically. Also the Wi-Fi seemed very slow for some reason. It's usually been OK when I've stayed here before. Both issues were reported to reception on checkout.

Lovely looking Victorian building only a short walk from Motherwell station. Very clean inside and well presented with pleasant staff. I booked a single room, which are all on the 2nd floor. My room had only a Velux roof window, which didn’t open and stiflingly hot! So no fresh air circulation, and very little natural light. There was a tower fan provided, which was much needed, and I needed it on all night to cool the room temperature. Can’t comment on the restaurant as I only had drinks, not food. I would stay again, bit I’d spend extra to get a double room which I presume have better air circulation and natural light.

It was noisy at the ground floor and there’s no air conditioner or even a fan, you have to open the window and leave it open to get fresh air. Terrible idea because it is noisy outside but if you don’t open the window it’s very hot inside the bedroom.

Staff were amazing, great rooms, food was lovely. However the rooms were really hot as Scotland was having a mini heatwave and the rooms have no air conditioning. The hotels is on a noisey main road so we could open the window..

I've stayed here quite a few times now and generally had no major problems. Same this time however I was in one of the rooms on the lower floor to the rear of the hotel. The room iteslf was great, comfortable bed, large modern bathroom. But whowever was in the room above made an awful lot of noise. Like running up and dowm the room and bouncing on the floor? Fortunately it didn't go on through the night. But the sound proofing between the rooms seems to have been skimped on a little. Other than that the food was excellent and the staff pleasant and helpful as ever.

Or stay was very pleasant on the whole. It seems because i asked for a quiet room we ended up in one of the smallest. That was the only down side of our stay that we didn't have a lot of room in our bedroom, especially considering we were staying for a week. I did mention it when we were leaving and they explained that was why. I think i would have preferred a discussion or being given an option about it. I guess it doesn't always pay to mention what you might like so probably my fault

I stayed in one of their single rooms Twin bed was small but comfortable, room was hot with the skylight above but the dyson fan was the perfect touch and very quiet. Shower had great water pressure and the amenties were the typical bestwestern soaps and cleansers. For myself as a solo traveler it worked for me but if you dont pack light, id suggest upgrading to a bigger room

We loved the outside look of the building. The room was very clean. Room number 1 was very noisy with a kitchen across the hall and a function room beside it. The noise was very loud till midnight on the first night then loud till around 10pm the second night. This accommodation would definitely be better during the week rather than on a weekend. Transport was good with the choice of trains or buses into Glasgow. We did both. The car park had plenty of spaces.

We checked in late and staff were very courteous and polite throughout. We were given a disabled room with pull cords and handrails which was spacious and well appointed. However, the shower didn't drain, and the toilet was wobbly as the bolts attached to the floor had rusted through. This needs urgent addressing in a disabled room. The pre-booked breakfast was very tasty but after checking in with waiters we waited 30 mins. We enquired where our breakfast was and it then turned up 5 mins later with the wrong items. We waited another 20 mins for the missing items, while others were getting served, before giving up as we were now late for an engagement. It is a nice hotel, with good food, and really nice staff. I suspect we may have got unlucky with our experience but worth knowing.

As always this hotel, especially the staff cannot be beaten. All are super friendly and so helpful. This includes the housekeepers. It is for this reason that we keep returning when in the area or for work.

The staff at The Moorings are all friendly and helpful though, at times, you might struggle to find one! Everything is clean and comfortable though just a little tired round the edges. We will continue to use it as our base every time we visit that part of Scotland (3 or 4 times annually).

The service was either great or bad. The front desk service was great. The room was very far and if someone had disabilities it would not be accessible. There were no elevators that we noticed either. The room was stuffy, and got extremely hot and humid because the air didn't circulate well. We had to open the window to cool down the room. The walls between the rooms and hall are very thin and we could hear the tv from another room very clearly as well as room doors being banged shut. The breakfast food was good, dinner was ok.

Of all the hotels I have ever stayed in, this one has the friendliest, and the kindest staff I have encountered!! I cannot say enough good things about them! They were all wonderful!! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

We had a great stay here, from checking in to checking out. The staff were very friendly, very comfortable bed. We were pleasantly surprised to have a bath as well as a shower. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. We also had dinner, which was very good too. The hotel was a short walk to Strathclyde Country Park which was a very pleasant walk.

It was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The property is beautiful as was my room. It was very quiet as well. The hotel is 5 min away from the train station making it very convenient to travel to Glasgow or Edinburg. If I ever find a way to make it back to Scotland, this will be the hotel I stay in.

I've stayed here a few times now and I really can't fault it. It's convenient for the train, only 5 minutes walk to the station, the hotel has a friendly welcoming feel, the rooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable.

I was here for a couple of days and once again pleasantly pleased. I find this hotel so relaxing, staff so friendly and I always have an excellent relaxing time. Breakfasts are great and nothings is too much. I do find evening meals a bit up and down.

The room was half renovated. the room was fine but the bathroom was full of mold and falling apart. I get the fact that it was in renovation, but that doesn't excuse black mold... Breakfast had to be pre-ordered but the quality of the food was poor. I would have given this feedback on checkout but they staff didn't ask me how my stay was...

Just a 1 night stay as passing through the town I grew up in on way back home. A vast improvement on the condition of the building since I last set foot there some 35 years ago and it is now a clean and comfy hotel. The area has always been a nice residential setting despite being on a main road. The room overlooking the busy road was quiet and was very spacious and comfortable. Food wise the kitchen were very accommodating when tweaking meals for a vegan lifestyle, although the pasta for both meals was cooked to within an inch of it's life. Still had a lot of flavour though and just what was needed after a long drive to get there. Question I always ask myself is would I stay there again, and in this case, yes I would.

A very comfortable hotel, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, we ate dinner once and it was beautiful, cooked and presented with care as was breakfast, I have only two negatives which I didn’t discuss with the hotel, but I do think they could benefit from supplying fans in the superior rooms as they do get warm and as the road is busy it gets noisy to have the windows open. The other slight niggle , on checking in we were told it would be helpful to complete a breakfast form the day before, however we only ever received one form for a four night stay, on the Saturday breakfast seemed to be set up in a buffet style so we helped ourselves and weren’t told that this wasn’t acceptable, however on Sunday when we again went to help ourselves we were told “NO, that’s for coach party only , you completed a form on day one chef cooks that for you “. So I think clarity to the customer is required around breakfast as we certainly did not want the same breakfast three days in a row. But those are minuscule things which with better communication from us and the hotel are easily resolved. I would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.

My second two night stay here. Even better than the first. The staff a very friendly and make sure you are looked after well. Easy parking just out the front of the hotel. Nice bar and restaurant area. Great breakfast. I will be back
