Lovely clean room. Check in is at reception in the separate restaurant building from the hotel building. For a couple we were only provided with one bath towel and one hand towel in addition to the bath mat. You apparently can ask at reception for more towels but that’s no use when it’s in a different building.

Rooms are located across the pub. Convenient location with parking facility and pub for a really good meal. Room was clean and looked really nice. Perfect for what we needed as a family.

Upon arrival we entered hotel to find, what we thought was the reception, closed. We pressed a buzzer but nobody appeared. We looked up and down the hallway but found no staff. At this point I have two really excited children with me who are starting I worry they won’t get in. We decide to cross the car park and ask at the restaurant, where we stood waiting for staff at the sign stating wait here to be served. Still nobody approached us so we went to the bar where the lady informed us reception was in the restaurant. After this the service was excellent, we were also informed there is a notice outside the hotel informing where checkin is however with two overexcited children I didn’t notice it and could not see any notice inside hotel informing where reception was.
Upon arrival we entered hotel to find, what we thought was the reception, closed. We pressed a buzzer but nobody appeared. We looked up and down the hallway but found no staff. At this point I have two really excited children with me who are starting I worry they won’t get in. Based here whilst touring the local and wider area. Hotel accommodation is perfectly adequate, I would say comparable with a Premier Inn, but the associated pub fell well short of expectations. Opening hours were very limited, particularly on Sunday night, having returned from a long day driving and walking, we entered the bar at 8.43 to be told that last orders had already been called and they were closing!! On other nights they also closed early, although not as early, but by 10 o’clock! It meant that we decided to eat out before returning to the hotel in case we were unable to get an evening meal. As this chain is Marston’s Inns, my friends and I felt it was a poor experience.

As a whole our stay was fine, I like Marston’s Inn and usually a go to for me. However in particular the family room we had wasn’t of standard. There was black mould all over the bathroom roof, dirty shower curtain, hairs all over bath and sink, mirror not cleaned, thick dust around skirting board, snot all over the walls, gaps in window so room wasn’t warm at all. Staff were friendly and helpful although we couldn’t move room as the hotel was fully booked but we did get a free breakfast for it 👏

had a great stay! What really stood out for me was how clean and well-kept the room was from the moment I arrived. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The hotel also offers good amenities, making it comfortable whether you’re staying for a short visit or a longer trip. The location is excellent — not far from major tourist attractions and with easy access to big cities like Glasgow, which was a huge plus. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area

Our room window did not close properly as the handle was missing. The service in the restaurant was poor. If you want served by someone that gives you dirty looks everytime they bring a plate and can’t smile at all you’ll enjoy this. Food wasn’t great, nothing came out together. Never cleared the plates and when we asked the waitress rather than take some with her she told us she would find someone to do it which took ages. Desserts put on the table without lifting the main plates. The restaurant and hotel are not very clean the floors are filthy.

A basic hotel with simple rooms. The fourth bed in our room was noticeably shorter, so my 13-year-old child didn’t quite fit. That said, the restaurant was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. And although the rooms were quite basic, they still met all our needs.

Unfortunately our window couldn't close properly so it made the room very cold and noisy. But, fortunately, we were given a family room so we were able to use the duvet from the single bed. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Have stayed before and will probably stay again, just hope the windows can be closed next time 😂

Booked for a stay 2 rooms, 2 nights for a funeral as it was best part of a days drive up and back. Rooms are basic, ok and clean . Beds comfortable, although FIL had a bit of an issue with his. Staff in the adjoining pub /restaurant were accommodating and helpful as we met with relatives on both nights. Breakfast was an issue, second morning as we’d paid for full in advance, but for some reason they said there was a ‘kitchen issue’ . TBF they credited the full and let us have continental for free.

We stayed as our son was competing in the taekwondo scottish national championships at the Ravenscraig sports centre. This was literally over the roundabout, about half a mile away, so perfect for our needs. We had clean towels every day except sunday, when there is no cleaning service, which was not a problem. We just asked for more towels at the bar! Restaurant staff were excellent, they were friendly and helpful. Our room (room 101) was lovely and warm, and it was clean and fresh. Plenty of space and on ghe ground floor, which was great with me being disabled and mobility being an issue. Only thing i would suggest, is that as room 101 it is a ground floor and therefore more helpful for disabled guests, it would be preferable to have an actual shower cubicle, rather than a shower over the bath, which i found very difficult, and had i not had my husband with me to help me get in and out, would have been a problem.

We just asked for more towels at the bar! Restaurant staff were excellent, they were friendly and helpful. Our room (room 101) was lovely and warm, and it was clean and fresh. Plenty of space and on ghe ground floor, which was great with me being disabled and mobility being an issue. Only thing i would suggest, is that as room 101 it is a ground floor and therefore more helpful for disabled guests, it would be preferable to have an actual shower cubicle, rather than a shower over the bath, which i found very difficult, and had i not had my husband with me to help me get in and out, would have been a problem.

Staff where very attentive and where pleasant at all times. Found it strange that the pub stopped serving drink at 9:30pm. I think if you didn't have a car it would not be ideal for getting about as a bit out of the way.

had a great stay! What really stood out for me was how clean and well-kept the room was from the moment I arrived. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The hotel also offers good amenities, making it comfortable whether you’re staying for a short visit or a longer trip. The location is excellent — not far from major tourist attractions and with easy access to big cities like Glasgow, which was a huge plus. We enjoyed an overnight stay at Ravens Cliff. Our room was comfortable, clean and had everything we required to make out stay a good one. We enjoyed a meal in their adjoining restaurant. In the morning of our departure we were advised that to have a cooked breakfast , we would have a wait of up to 30 minutes. We passed on the continental option, which seemed quite limited. It was 10 20 am by this time. Not sure what the issue was, i suspect a staff shortage, maybe? I would definitely return though.

I used to enjoy staying at a Arden’s mainly for the carvery only weekend now Menu is burgers or fish and chips I opted for the fish it was terrible definitely not haddock batter was ok but would never eat that white thing inside the batter and told the staff as I was leaving went to bed hungry as it’s miles from anywhere

Our room window did not close properly as the handle was missing. The service in the restaurant was poor. If you want served by someone that gives you dirty looks everytime they bring a plate and can’t smile at all you’ll enjoy this. Food wasn’t great, nothing came out together. Never cleared the plates and when we asked the waitress rather than take some with her she told us she would find someone to do it which took ages. Desserts put on the table without lifting the main plates. The restaurant and hotel are not very clean the floors are filthy.
