Lobby was under renovation with temporary front desk. Staff was very helpful. Warning - there is no parking at this location - only drop-off and it is very bustling being a block away from Les Galeries Lafayette so perfect for a shopping trip. Metro stop a block away. Room and bathroom were clean and good size - bed comfy and linen crisp. Lots of cafes and restaurants with terrasses within walking distance while crowded had available drop-in space. Morning in-hotel continental breakfast had good variety. Front desk arranged for airport taxi pick up.

We were not informed that the property was under construction when we booked it. The stairs were constantly blocked by painters and the paint fumes were strong even in our room. The air conditioning in our room was broken and instead we had a fan which did nothing for the extreme heat. The elevator is TINY and can fit maximum 3 people squished like sardines. But the painters didn’t want to let us pass them on the stairs so it was a constant battle. For one day, the elevator broke down and people were carrying their luggage up and down all the stairs themselves. We were on the 5th floor, so running up and down wasn’t easy…especially for the two people over 70 we were traveling with. The front desk staff was very nice and great at giving us directions and recommendations, but they never acknowledged the construction or the broken elevator. On one occasion, we asked the front desk if the painters were still blocking the stairs because we had occasions where we got three flights up and the painters refused to let us pass and we had to come all the way back down (we had more people in our group than could fit in the elevator, so some of us always had to take the stairs), and the front staff seemed completely unaware of the painters. Super disappointing.

Location is great, the night staff is very good the room location was great. Construction in the reception is unsafe for fall risk floor covered with sleepey ? Plastic and bannister was taken off and wires dust paint smell. Carpet stained in the room. Cleaner responded but the the stain in the room was still there. If the construction this will be a perfect location and perfect hotel for me.

This hotel is very close and walking distance to the Galeries Lafayette, other shopping stores and restaurants. The only thing that was inconvenient for guests was undergoing renovations, construction in a hotel can be very inconvenient due to noise, dust, limited access to amenities, and overall disruption. The elevator wasn’t working so we had to take the stairs all the way to 4th floor. It was tiring after walking 15k miles exploring the city. Thankfully the AC was working perfectly.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, the lobby and rooms are newly renovated and everything was very clean. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. The only complaint is that the air conditioning in the room was very weak and wasn't able to keep up, so the room was quite hot. To be fair, Paris was experiencing a heat wave when we were there so I'd still definitely recommend this hotel.

Was never told that free breakfast was offered on the last day until checkout. Had already purchased elsewhere at that point; no comp was offered. Hôtel Excelsior Opéra has an unbeatable location—everything is walkable and super convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. Breakfast was varied, fresh, and efficiently served. I’d absolutely stay here again for the comfort and service alone.

Very nice place to stay in Paris! Room and bathroom were good sizes (and had great water pressure). The elevator is small (holds two people max) and keys have to be returned to the desk when you leave. Otherwise, this is a perfect place to stay! Very close to a few metro options. Employees were super friendly and nice to us.

I got a balcony and early check in which was fantastic. Great location. Very loud outside and drilling even at 11:30pm! Ambulances, the whole bit. Otherwise I slept pretty well considering. Clean rooms, perfect for one person.

The location couldn’t be better — right next to Galeries Lafayette, surrounded by great restaurants, and with easy access to public transportation. It made getting around Paris incredibly convenient. The breakfast was simple but delicious, with everything fresh and nicely presented. My room was small, as expected in Paris, but very well organized and comfortable. The bed was great, and I slept wonderfully. The only minor downside was the shower, which is quite small and could be a bit tight for taller or larger guests. Still, overall, this hotel offers great value, comfort, and an unbeatable location. I’d definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect location for our 6 night stay in Paris! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and it is convenient to so many places - whether you want to walk or take the Metro. Several excellent restaurants are nearby and some even in the same block. Even better, I left a gold necklace in the room safe and, after notifying the hotel a couple of days after departure when this was discovered, they did have the necklace and were kind and honest enough to let me know and ship it back to me in the US. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a comfortable room, central location, and excellent customer service.

The hotel is just a few steps from the metro station. We exited through rue La Fayette and it's just in a beautiful and clean area. Lots of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options just around the corner. The staff are incredible and the sheets were very soft. There was some construction going on in the hotel but it didn't affect our stay since it's an upgrade and we spent most of our time walking around Paris and just the night in the hotel.

The room was nice with an updated bathroom and very good air conditioning. This property should NOT advertise that they have a bar. They do not. They have an unmanned counter at the back of the lobby with water dispensers and they will pour you a wine or a beer if requested and they also use it for storing all the luggage. When single travelers seek a hotel with a bar, they are expecting a full service bar, where guests can relax and meet people. This is not that in any way. It is very misleading to advertise this as a bar and I was quite disappointed to not have a place to relax and socialize after sightseeing. On my first day I asked if there was a decaf option for the coffee maker. The lady assured me she would find out and let me know. 4 days later and I never heard from her again. So, I would say the customer service needs work.

Good location. Lady that checked us in was amazing. Rest of staff average and were unable to fulfill what should be a simple request of extra pillows as the ones in room were inadequate. Wifi also had next to no connectivity so not suitable for business travel at all. Perhaps this is due to the ongoing renovation which was not disclosed when we booked.

Lobby was under renovation with temporary front desk. Staff was very helpful. Warning - there is no parking at this location - only drop-off and it is very bustling being a block away from Les Galeries Lafayette so perfect for a shopping trip. Metro stop a block away. Room and bathroom were clean and good size - bed comfy and linen crisp. Lots of cafes and restaurants with terrasses within walking distance while crowded had available drop-in space. Morning in-hotel continental breakfast had good variety. Front desk arranged for airport taxi pick up.

This hotel was very very clean. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great and internet service was good. Small room but plenty for 2 people. Their breakfast options were spectacular it was the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel. A nice balance of fruit, delicious meats and cheeses and condiments. The pastries and croissants and rolls were superb . The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the wrong connection to charge our phones and the hotel had an adapter that fit that we borrowed during our stay. They went out of their way to accommodate us in every way. Good location closes to the RER and metro stations. Nice stores in the area and some restaurants. The Opera house was about a 5 minute walk. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hôtel idéalement situé dans le centre de Paris et à proximité immédiate des Grands Magasins. Le petit déjeuner n'offre pas un très large choix mais il y a ce qu'il faut pour commencer la journée ! Une mention particulière pour l'accueil et la possibilité de laisser les bagages le jour du départ. Merci d'offrir ce service de bagagerie qui est vraiment très pratique !!!

Great stay! Upgraded to super room with an even nicer view, we are extremely grateful! Air conditioning welcome during the current heatwave. Really lovely staff on the reception too. Didn’t eat breakfast, I can’t comment on that but everything else was a delight.
