This hotel is very cute and quaint in a quieter neighborhood of Paris that is close to the action of the 7th arrondissement. We ended our stay here and were impressed by the hospitality and charmed by the traditional decoration of the rooms. They also have a nice courtyard to enjoy breakfast in.

Great location and close to both the M12 and M13 metro. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially Kenza and Alex. Pastry and market right next to the hotel. The Rodin is just around the corner as well as the Invalides. The rooms are nice size for Europe. There is a small one person elevator otherwise taking the stairs.

Staff were very friendly and was very helpful when we had questions. I also love that thing held her luggage until my room was ready. They also helped us with setting up transportation to various activities and to the airport. The only thing I did not like is that the rooms were smaller than how it appeared in the pictures options for English on the TV I could not get it to work and staff was not able to help me fix it. The elevator was very very small that only one person and two bags could be an elevator at one time. Considering all I have fond memories of my stay.

Property has a beautiful garden area where you can have breakfast or a glass of wine. Rooms are small but you don’t come here for the room. AC works fine and the staff are helpful arranging transportation. The bakery a few doors down is worth a visit too!

The services provided by the staff was excellent and the room was adequate. The neighborhood is perfect for walking to many attractions and it was quiet at night. However, the property itself is not what I expected for a 4 star hotel. The bathroom sink filled up quickly because it did not drain properly. There was mildew in the shower guard, and the closet squeaked loudly. For what we paid per night, I felt that breakfast should have been included.

Bathroom was relatively clean but in disrepair - the toilet didn’t operate properly for 2 days and the glass shower door appeared to be falling off. The room was also relatively clean. It I found an old sock in the closet. Otherwise, it’s a charming building and great location.

Nice property, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed. Room was rather small and not quite as nice-looking in person as compared to the photos, but nice enough. Also, for other senior guests - note the bathtub/shower is a bit of a challenge to get in and out, no grab bars, not sure if there are better rooms available for such cases.

Just got back from a week long stay. Great location! Walkable to Eiffel Tower, Musee d'Orsay, various restaurants and not far from metro station. The hotel was spotless, very comfortable, the rooms were spacious and the staff was very friendlly and helpful! Very safe and quiet area, which was welcome after spending the day at crowded tourist sites.

Room was comfortable. We had the room overlooking the courtyard which allowed us to open the window for fresh air. The drawback to this was smoke wafting up and loud voices. Our last night added very loud noises from the neighbouring building well after midnight. Staff was very pleasant. We didn’t eat breakfast in the dining room, but it smelled wonderful. Neighborhood has patisserie, produce, and a small store very close. Within walking distance to many museums and sights.

Quaint hotel in quiet area. Not close to metro so expect to walk 10-12 minutes to get to one. The bathroom had a strange odor and shower curtain didn’t go to the floor which allowed water to splash outside. It qas hot in our room and seemed like there wasn’t much ventilation.

Hotel De Varenne was a lovely little hotel secreted away in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The staff were very helpful, the room was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. Convenient walking to Rodin Musee, the Musee D'Orsay, the Eiffel Tower and a little further to Notre Dame. We chose to have the generous daily continental breakfast which was great. The wifi was the only issue that was a bit painful (very slow or non-existent), but our understanding was this issue was unusual and an internet technician was coming to fix it. All else was tres bon.

The hotel is in a convenient, central, and quiet part of the city, with many sites within walking distance and plenty of small restaurants close by. It's perfect for a solo traveler like me who didn't need or want a massive hotel with lots of amenities. The staff was extremely friendly, and it had a BNB vibe. Small negatives - this is a very small hotel with tight quarters in places, like hallways, elevator, and the shower. I didn't mind at all, as my room was beautiful and I loved the location, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

The hotel is in a great location, just next to the Musee Rodin and Les Invalides, and just five minute walk from the National Assembly. We had a very warm and professional welcome by the gentleman at the check-in desk. We booked a suite and we received room #1, which is on the ground floor and was described as the "garden view suite" -- the reality is that the windows of the bedroom and the bathroom looked to the busy street where pedestrians and car drivers could easily see inside, so we had to have the blinds closed all the time. The only part with a "garden view" was the living room which had a window that opened to the inside courtyard, but hotel guests would walk past and could easily look inside once again... The suite is large and beautifully appointed with glorious gold wallpaper and older furniture. The living room has a couch that becomes a double bed and a writing desk that one can use to do work. There is also a mini-fridge, but it is only used for the mini-bar items. The hotel does not allow guests to use the fridge for their own waters or drinks -- very unfortunate. Plenty of closet space. The spacious bathroom had a jacuzzi tub (we did not use) and a separate shower. Great water pressure! The largest problem by far with the room was the overwhelming sense of mustiness. It appears that the AC units are full of mold and when you turn them on mold spores are spread in the room and produce a very bad smell. I would have given a higher rating if this were not the ca

Margo was fantastic. She went out of her way to be sure we enjoyed our time in Paris. She booked tours and secured tickets. She gave us ideas for lunch and dinner, and made our stay special. Breakfast was also amazing with pastries, jelly’s, juice and coffee. What’s really important to me is having a clean, well appointed room and the Hotel De Varenne did not disappoint. The room sparkled and was in great shape.

Hotel was in a safe walkable location. Continental breakfast was good. Cleaning and restaurant staff were helpful and polite. Manager/front desk was a bit rude at times. The garden patio is nice but don’t sit there unless you are consuming food and drink purchased from the hotel. It would have been nice to be able to sit there in the evenings without

Situated on a quiet street in the 7th district, it was centrally located to most attractions and sites we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay here again.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Recommendations were offered for local places to visit. Room was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was offered with an additional charge. I did not take advantage so I cannot speak to quality of food. We came in late most evenings and front desk was always there to greet us. Hotel was in a quiet neighborhood and secure.

Hotel is well positioned and well maintained with decent size rooms and generous sized bathrooms. Main issue we had was the terrible check-in staff member who couldn’t be more unhelpful if he’d have tried. Everything we asked for was responded to negatively. Parking - said to be available when I booked and a key filter I used on the hotels.com site - was actually a 15 minute walk away (hardly on site!). It was a very warm afternoon and we had bags and bikes with us (we’d just cycled 80 miles to a finish point in Paris). Could they help store the bikes anywhere? No - they couldn’t go in the courtyard as people sit out there and have a drink. We could leave them outside in the street! - that’s the best he could offer. So we unloaded our bags and put the bikes on the roof of the car ready to leave the following day. We ordered six beers thinking we’ll sit in the pleasant courtyard, on the patio, where we couldn’t leave our bikes. But no - “we’ve only got three beers in the fridge”. As there were six of us that wasn’t going to work. Suggestion from the helpful staff member? You’d be better off, down the road in a bar!! So we couldn’t have a drink in the area where we couldn’t leave our bikes because it’s where people have a drink!! You couldn’t make it up!! The check in experience ruined what was otherwise a pleasant stay in a comfortable hotel.

The staff personnel were very friendly and accommodating. I appreciated their efforts to correct a small issue I had with my original room by moving me to another room quickly. I also had a small issue with wifi when I moved to the new room, which they quickly attended to as well. The breakfast was more than sufficient, delicious and prepared well. The only issue I had was the lack of AC during the hot days of my stay at the Varenne. They have AC but it was not yet turned on for the season. Thankfully colder weather finally moved back in. Opening windows was a decent alternative. Alex and Kenza were fabulous in giving us food recommendations and assisting me with my needs.

Das Hotel liegt ideal . Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in ca 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Eine Metro Station in 5 Minuten. Mehrere Lokale in der Umgebung. Der Frühstücksraum für die Anzahl der Gäste oft nicht ausreichend , d.h. teilweise lange Wartezeiten auf freie Plätze.

As a frequent visitor to Paris, this is undoubtedly my favourite hotel. Points scored for having a beautifully planted garden where you can have breakfast, drinks or a smoke. The Nespresso style coffee machines in all the rooms. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Location near musee d'Orsay (culture) and near shopping on the Left Bank. Couldn't be better.

Very nice Parisian hotel at excellent location. Walking distance to the Metro - Subway lines and few bus lines. Few blocks from the major museums, Musee D'Orsay, Hotel des Invalides, with Napoleon's Tomb, Grand Palais, even Eifel Tower is in walking distance. Pleasent very French Hotel rooms are smaller than in USA but very French. Bravo! Highly recommended!!

Lovely place and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is a bit limited but good. A 10 - 20 minute walk puts you in the hot spots of Paris, or you can easily hop on bus 69 to get there in a few minutes. This was a great place to stay.

This is a gem of a hotel! Wonderful location in a very quiet neighborhood and safe since it’s near the embassies. About a ten minute walk to the Seine and Musée D’Orsay and 25 min walk to the Eiffel Tower. Staff is very nice and helpful. The courtyard is very pretty and makes for a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Bathroom was spacious and our room was nice. Daily cleaning provided. Breakfast is included but I wish there had been more options. More of a continental breakfast with pastries, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea. Would be nice to have eggs/fruit/cereal - although you can order those as additional options. Other than that, a perfect home base for exploring Paris.
