Lovely hotel in an excellent location, just a short walk into the old town but also on a street with plenty of amenities of its own. Free parking nearby in the Place Barbicane which was easy to find and close to the hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and local products. The hotel garden was beautiful, and a cute if very small roof terrace too from which you can get a view of the city walls.

Really fabulous hotel in a great location - staff are wonderful and always helpful. There’s a rooftop perch where you can get stunning views of the Carcassonne fortress and walls and there’s also a secure underground parking lot.

The hotel was a bit hard to find but once there the staff was super helpful to get us parked, checked in, and even hauled our bag up a flight of stairs for us. We did not do breakfast but other guests enjoyed it. The room was clean and functional. The terrace on the third floor provided a marvelous view of the fortress. Location was great.

The hotel staff were so so friendly and helpful recommending places to see and restaurants, etc. Our room was cleaned daily. We added on a buffet breakfast every morning which was well worth it. The owners Jean Michel and Catherine made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself was ideally positioned with beautiful views of the Chateau of Carcassonne. Will definitely return, loved it.

What a view! We were in Room 19 at the top of the property and the view of the walled city was spectacular! The room was spacious and comfortable, and VERY quiet. Two things to consider—-we were 50 steps up from reception. This is not a room for those who can’t handle stairs. There is no elevator, so you are carrying your suitcase up. Also, parking is outside the pedestrian area, so your car will be about two blocks from the door. You can drive in and park next to the hotel to load your bags, and that same situation may be available if you check in early. Parking is free in the lots next to the pedestrian section, so that is a plus.

Great location, hotel room was small but perfect for our 2 night stay. Coffee in room was problematic, a Nescafe pod machine that didnt seem to like Nescafe pods, supply of 2 normal and 2 decaf was not adequate especially as asking for more would have incurred a cost

What a beautiful hotel, our room (12) was lovely, with a huge bed (bigger than a king), fresh decor, and a brand new bathroom. The view from the small roof terrace is also one worth taking in, with the old city laid out right before your eyes. The location of the Hotel du Pont Vieux is excellent, on a pretty street, lined with cafes and restaurants, that is right in between the medieval city and The Bastide St-Louis. It made everything so easily accessible. It even had a little shop selling local food and wine. The staff were also extremely friendly and very helpful. Thank you for a fabulous stay, a highly recommended spot ❤️

Great hotel within walking distance of sites. Restaurant options nearby. Parking is a bit of a walk but was free; could be a problem to find parking if this public lot was full. The only other thing which kept me rating this hotel as excellent was the lack of hot water in the shower. Room was compact but comfortable. Interior courtyard was lovely and quiet.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfy. Carcassonne cite was less than a 5 min walk as well. It also has a beautiful terasse so you can sit outside and stare at the castle. Air conditioning in room was a lovely bonus on a 35 degree day!

Absolutely wonderful family-run hotel just outside the medieval walls of Carcassonne with an amazing view at the old town from the terrace on the top floor. Located inside an old building, it’s modern inside and very well-maintained. The owners have thought through every detail. The rooms are well planned and very comfortable. The little garden in the back and the patio are so beautiful! The customer service was very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location . Absolutely amazing view of the castle . Lovely little shop with great local items to buy(culinary). Super comfortable bed and room. Just be ready to climb a lot of stairs- there is no lift. We asked our host to order a taxi to the train station, but the taxi never came- and we had to catch a train- and our host drove us to the station. That was unbelievable. Just over the top. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful Boutique hotel! Catherine & Jean-Michel were perfect hosts! Arranging dinner reservations and taxi transport when needed. Excellent petit dejeuner! There is no elevator however they are very quick to help get your bags up to your room. I can't recommend enough to take a glass of wine up to the little rooftop terrace at sunset. The view is just SPECTACULAR! Thank you for a wonderful & memorable stay!

Nice older hotel, but all modern features in room, in excellent location. About a 10 minute walk to amazing fortress/castle and same to the old part of town. Hotel had a small store attached, where you can buy great wine at an excellent price. They also had a great selection of cheeses and bread, plus other nice foods/snacks. Also, on the third floor they had a nice small terrace area to sit and drink wine, enjoy your bread and cheese and get an amazing view of the magnificent castle/fortress. They also had a nice patio garden area, but we didn’t avail ourselves of this. Lastly, the staff were friendly and the owners were on site all the time. They were very kind and helpful to us as we had to stay an extra night. Would thoroughly recommend this outstanding hotel, with extremely kind and friendly owners.

You have to find general parking and walk to the hotel. Once you get the parking garage key and instructions you can drive to it. Hosts are very helpful and the room was very nice. Breakfast buffet was in a beautiful courtyard. The top floor had a panoramic view of the castle.
