Hotel Busby

Pro: Large room (#101), hot shower, very good breakfast (14 EUR), comfortable bed. Cons: External terrace needs a good cleanup, one elevator was out of order, parking difficult and pricey.

La habitación estuvo perfecta, muy limpio y bien equipado. No tiene Bar o refrigerador en los cuartos debido a que hay hormigas al ser un edificio viejo y no se permiten alimentos en las habitaciones, pero cuenta con cocina y terraza para comer. El personal fue muy amable y también hablan inglés

Hotellet låg väldigt centralt men i en lugnare del av Nice vilket vi uppskattade! Väldigt trevligt bemötande av personalen och det var väldigt bra att vi kunde låna både strandhanddukar, parasoll och liggunderlag! Vi hade några myror i badrummet men det var inget som störde och rummet var annars rent - inte så uppdaterad inredning men bra sängar och tyst (vi hade rum mot innergården)!

Great hotel in a good location in the centre of Nice. Only negative is they have a weird policy where you cannot eat food in your room - it must be eaten on a terrace (which is lovely) or in a kitchen (which more resembles a staff tea room). Overall a good hotel albeit a little dated.

Fantastisk beliggenhet og hyggelig persoalet! Extra poeng for at man kan låne parasoll og liggeunderlag til stranda! Sengene var ikke veldig komfortable og frokosten var altfor dyr ift hva man får, anbefaler å heller spise ute…

Very good location, a short walk to the seafront and the main shopping district, many restaurants close by. All things considered very good value for money. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The communal areas, reception, bar and lounge etc. were very good and well maintained. Clean and tidy. This is a hotel we will go back to..

The hotel is in a great location - in a truly beautiful street. Unfortunately, some of the details once you're there are disappointing. The hotel has a bar - with zero atmosphere - and woefully poorly stocked... I asked for a red wine. In France. No. And beyond the bar area which is really part of reception, they have a tiny garden at the rear - which is nice, but not staffed and really not ideal. Room was OK - although noisy from the street (and the staff phone in the corridor directly outside our room). We didn't have breakfast there - and we're happy about that. Overall not great - although a lovely location.

Quiet located hotel, I had a single room which was adequate for two nights . No fridge in room , but did have kettle and tea . Would use again .

The entire hotel was very clean, they do not allow food in guest rooms so that plays a part. Small European style bathtub, would have preferred a shower but everything was in working order and the room was spacious enough for another person if I’d had family with me. The common areas (terrace/living room/bar/checkin desk) are all very clean, comfortable and family friendly with board games and a desktop available and a large TV with additional international channels. Would recommend stay to friends.

Wir waren für zwei Nächte im 4-Zimmer des Hotels untergebracht. Der Check-in lief problemlos, der Mitarbeiter war sehr freundlich. Leider mussten wir im ersten Zimmer feststellen, dass noch einige Haare sowie Krümel/Dreck (der Vorgäste ?) in den Betten (unter der Bettdecke) waren. Auch waren noch Haare usw. im Bad. Insgesamt wirkte das Zimmer leider nicht sehr sauber, daher haben wir um ein anderes Zimmer gebeten. Der Mitarbeiter kam mit aufs Zimmer, hat sich die Situation angeschaut und uns ein neues Zimmer gegeben. Das lief alles sehr nett und vor allem auch schnell ab, mit den Mitarbeitern waren wir wirklich sehr zufrieden! Im neuen Zimmer war die Gesamtausstattung zwar etwas besser, leider waren jedoch auch hier wieder Haare unter den „frisch bezogenen“ Betten. Da wir uns ja schon einmal beschwert haben, wollten wir nicht noch einmal nachfragen, hätten allerdings eigentlich erwartet, dass man vorher einmal nachsieht, und sicherstellt dass das neue Zimmer dann sauberer ist. Dass die Zimmer etwas älter und renovierungsbedürftig sind, war vorher klar, das zeigen auch die Fotos sowie die Bewertungen. Allerdings haben die vielen kleinen Haare und der Dreck im Bett dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns leider nicht wohl fühlen konnten. Sehr schade, da die Lage des Hotels top ist, auch mit allem anderen waren wir sehr zufrieden. Nochmal buchen würden wir das Hotel jedoch nicht.

The cleaning services made this stay excellent. So friendly and cleaned our rooms every day. Great customer service at the front desk as well. I do wish they had a recycling bin next to the trash cans everywhere.

The hotel feels rather tired. Unfortunately, I also found hair in the bath, which gave a poor impression of cleanliness.

Room and hotel was too old. Bed was so uncomfortable. It does not look like the picture. AC did not work and we had to sleep with the windows open.

Walls are very thin - can hear the room next door’s TV.

Our room was the last room at the end of a long hallway. It was very clean - looks like newly painted with new wood flooring. The bathroom was terrible- there was jelly like blackish deposits on the shower tubing. There was a bidet and a toilet all jam packed in a very tiny small space. The hotel was conveniently located about 2 blocks from the main drag where all restaurants and entertainment. Will I come back? No. The bathroom was terrible. Continental Breakfast was ok. Staff were very nice.

Centrally located. Outdated. Bathtub/shower is too tight. The bathtub is so tiny. Shower curtain touching you when you shower. When people above our room flush the toilet the water in our toilet will shake. I like that the floor is laminate flooring not carpet and you can open the window/door. It is spacious enough for a family of 4. 2 single bed and bunkbed.

Happy about most things, but airconditioning was not working in our room.

Virkelig lydt. Havde værelse ud til vejen og deres vinduer og vægge er ikke gode. Så ringe og kan hører alt. Kan hører naboen gennem væggen og alt hvad der foregår nede på gaden!

If you are looking for somewhere reasonably cheap well located in Nice and are are not looking for perfection the Busby maybe a good choice, it’s near Alsace Lorraine stop on Line 2 Tram from the airport, <10mins walk to Nice Ville train station and around mins from the Promenade de Anglais, rooms were clean and I found the staff helpful. However I was in a room on the first floor facing the road and lots of road noise as windows have no soundproofing so take earplugs and although an attempt has been made to update the hotel it still looks v tired in places, in particular in the breakfast room one part of the ceiling was being propped up by a support jack but had been covered round in curtains presumably to hide it from being seen by guests, also some of the sockets in the room didn’t work, the shower whilst working was at a very low height even for a short person and was given the emergency key to the room safe to use as it seemed the pin pad was broken .So in summary if you are looking for somewhere functional near the centre of Nice and are not too fussy about the decor Hotel Busby is worth considering.

The bathroom was small and cramped and looked like it came out of the 1960's. The hotel is old and dated and could benefit from some freshening up.

Bathtub is very narrow and slippery.

Helpful friendly staff; clean facilities; close to shopping and restaurants. There was some renovating but not disruptive. Bed was a bit firm for my liking. I would definitely stay again.

When we arrived to the front desk, I asked if the A/C was working. The receptionist said it was. When we got to our room, the A/C was not working and it was very hot inside the room with a bad smell. We opened the windows and went back to the front desk. The receptionist said that it was not working because we opened the windows and the sensors installed in the windows will turned the A/C automatically. We went back to the room, there were not any sensors in the windows, closed the windows and still the A/C was not working. Again, we went back to the front desk, and the receptionist apologized and said that the truth it is that the room A/C was broken and they didn’t have anyone coming to fix it. He lied to us. We told him why he lied to us from the beginning otherwise we would have looked for another hotel to stay. We had to sleep with open windows that night and it was horrible hearing cars passing by, people chatting, and smoking outside the building. The next morning, we asked if someone was coming to fix it. Another receptionist told us that someone was coming to fix the A/C. Then we came back again that night to find out the A/C wasn’t still working and the room was too hot inside with bad odors from the carpet. Again, we went back to the receptionist (another person) and he said the hotel was full and he couldn’t give us another room when they did have another room that we got with an almost broken A/C. Horrible experience and I’m going to contact Expedia for a refund.

We had a great stay at Hotel Busby. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to the man who worked at reception—he was especially helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated the little touches, like having umbrellas and beach items available—it made things so much easier. The breakfast was great, with fresh, hot croissants every morning, and everything was very clean and well organized. We would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The hotel was in a good position, just off the beachfront in a quiet street and a 5 minute walk to bars, restaurants. It was spotlessly clean and great staff .

Great French style hotel. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet room. Close to tourist attractions. Close to the tram stop which takes you to the airport for 1.5 euro. Really nice option for a short or long stay.

We liked the straight direction to the Nice Ville Train station. Go down a couple blocks and the beach is a straight direction as well.

We had a great time in Nice. The Hotel was in a great place and convenient to everything.

In between the beach and the train station. The hotel was quiet and the air conditioning could be controlled which made for an enjoyable stay.

Frühstück würde ich nicht empfehlen, wenig Auswahl ( für das Geld ) und leider auch nicht frisch. Das Bad ist sehr klein und Sanierungsbedürftig.

This hotel is in a great location, with 5 min walk to the beach, local supermarket, restaurants and shops nearby. The airconditioning is excellent, which is hit and miss in France, and the breakfast is both great value and excellent €14. The gym is functional and effective, while the breakfast room is lovely.

Great location, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, but the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, people making noise next door, room smelt like cigarettes, stained ceiling by vent, uncomfortable bed and pillow. No shampoo or tissue was provided. I love Nice so much I didn’t let it bother me too much.

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen und man hat gute Verbindung an die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, aber die Zimmer sind sauber. Badezimmer wäre renovierungsbedürftig. Kleines Frühstück, aber absolut ausreichend. Personal ist sehr nett. Ich werde das Hotel weiterempfehlen.
